I called this dealership asking about a car on their website. They said that they would try to be community friendly with people's financial situation during the covid crisis. I told the person on the phone that I has been through breast cancer. When I said I didn't have a trade in, they said they'd need to add $1000 to the advertised price. I said if they waived the $1000 add on, I'd be down tomorrow to buy the vehicle. The person on the phone said he would check and call right back. He never did. I called the next afternoon, and they answered the phone not with "Hello" but by saying "CAR!" Unless the person 's name actually is "CAR" or "CARR" that's a ridiculous way to answer the phone. I told "CAR" that I was ready to buy a car, and was expecting a call back, but that it was unprofessional to not return a call. I told him he lost a sale, and that now I saw the reason for the bad yelp reviews! "CAR" rudely answered "You're Welcome," and hung up. Good news: They had plenty of inventory and even offered a great deal on a demo car, which is why we chose them over other dealerships. The sales team was nice and down to earth. Bad news: the finance department provided a terrible experience, one that I would not recommend to anyone else. The finance manager did not disclose several expensive packages, including a 3k service package. When I called to receive more information on what the service package was, they said they could mail a pamphlet, then proceeded to tell me the contract was already sent to the bank and I wouldn't be saving money if I cancelled the service package. I then had to return to the dealership the next day because the finance manager had incorrectly input some of my personal information. When I went to resign the paperwork, the finance manager said that the contract was actually never sent out at the time he talked to me on the phone, and tried to then sell me the exact same service package for half the cost. They have big cozy waiting rooms and easy parking spaces. Lots of shops and restaurants in walking distance to spend a day there while waiting. They also offer pickup and drop off service for nearby towns. On top of those, they still offer reasonable prices for services and not like other ford dealerships always looking to charge you extra that unnecessary. I have been to several ford dealerships in MA. All other dealerships did not earn my trust after dealing with them. This is the only one that I'll give acceptable rating. My service advisor is Rick, he is a good guy to work with and reasonably knowledgeable about car repairs . The mechanics there looks to me experienced and very good at mechanics parts. They fixed all 2 of my engine lights with EVAL codes with little efforts and replaced a CAT although they charged me engine induction service that I never authorized. However, when coming to complex emission and obd2 readiness issues, they are somewhat lacking the skills and flexibility. Right after they replaced the CAT, they introduced a side effect that both o2s and o2s heater monitors are no longer ready after driving 1k miles (they told me to keep driving) which prevents the car from passing the emission inspection. Eventually, I called MA Motorists Assistance Center and one of obd2 readiness experts told me there could be underlying problem and recommended mode-6 diagnosis. After gave this information to Imperial ford, they finally agreed to diagnose again. However, they keep charging me for labor hours that took a day but the original readiness issue remains. They seems did not do any mode-6 diagnostic as recommended but instead just looking at wires and flash computers etc. They keep asking me to drop off the car for further diagnosis but have no ETC and does not seem there is a limit for those fee too that could go over the roof quick. Eventually, I was running out of budge and had to say enough is enough. After some complains, they agreed to refund me half of those diagnosis fee that never improve the situation. I agreed to accept it just want to move on. I was told there policy did not allowed to call outside like MAC for assistance and need to follow the ford's instructions instead. Now I'll need to find a proper emission repair shop to perform mode-6 diagnosis. I drove 1-hour one way and give all my trust to imperial ford in the first place. Well, lesson learned that I don't think I'll ever to buy a ford car for a while just because it is hard to find a nearby ford service department that I can fully trust. read more

I was even told that my trade in was qualified for an additional $2,000 in trade in value. I drove an hour to get there, only to be told that the vehicle in question was actually $3,000. more. I told him i test drove a car at another dealership but i wanted to see the downgraded version. Not only did he NOT let me test drive a car, he didn't even stop by a car long enough through our walk for me to look. He asked me of I likes the rose gold white color and I said no. I went to look at a Ford F-150 I liked, first thing the sales guy tells you is "our ad price is not accurate, we factor in every possible rebate and discount into the ad price, but it's ok every dealership does that" well first off no, I came here because you guys advertised significantly less than everyone else. But Ok, I lied the truck and came to an agreement, they pulled my credit report spent time on the paper Work etc. I finish up and go home. The next day they call me and say there is a recall on the truck, they can't sell it until it's cleared and there is no estimate of when that may be. Ok so you guys should have checked that before effecting my credit and wasting my time. But he explains we have a new model coming in same color with all the feature that you can lease for less, I go Ok call me when it comes in. 2 weeks go by, and he said it would only be a few days. I go in to ask him about it, they got it and sold it, no phone call like he said, no holding it like he said. Ok great you guys are 0 for 2. So he sees I'm angry and promises me he will call me when the recall gets cleared, he says it shoots be in October sometime. Ok call me. Here it is mid November, and guess if he ever called me... did you guess no? You'd be correct. We purchased a gently used Ford F-150 (20k+). Had it for two days when we realized that the rain was pouring into the back seat. We immediately called our sales person who told us to bring it right in and he'd give us a loaner. We get there and are told they would have our truck for the week. When we go to the Main desk to get the loaner, some old crank of a guy was incredibly rude and told us they weren't giving us a loaner because we didn't buy the extended warranty. Two days we had the truck!! The guy was so rude, I was just about in tears. Even though the sales person offered, management didn't support his decision. Buyer beware!! We just went to look at a 2013 white Ford Escape SEL that Imperial is selling. The first thing we noticed is that the front and back bumpers on the left side are a starkly different color white than the side of the car. The salesman agreed that this looked unusual. It was clear even to an untrained observer that the car has at the very least been repainted. The driver seat also can't go forward as far as it should. There also appears to be some leakage in the moon roof. When we raised these questions to the salesman, he said he would try to get answers to our questions, but when he came back, he only brought up the issue of the seat going forward and told us that in the newer models made after 2013 that the seat only goes all the way forward when it's in its highest position. We tried this, and even in its highest position it didn't go all the way forward. This didn't make sense to us so we tried a different car. It was a newer car, but the seat went all the way forward no matter what height it was at. He also never gave us an answer regarding the paint differences; just asked us if we were still interested in the car. This car was being serviced for several days before we could see it. It's hard for us to believe that a car could go through such a thorough inspection without someone in their service shop making a note of the issues with the left side of the car. The Carfax also has no notation, likely because whoever owned it had it serviced somewhere else besides the dealership. We checked today and the car is still up for sale, and for the same price. It appears that they are going to continue to try and sell this car without alerting potential buyers that it may have been involved in a major accident. Would not trust this dealership!! read more

My husband and I have been looking at cars for about a month or so and hadn't decided on a truck or SUV. We found a great deal online on a used Taurus. I've experienced issues in the past where the car wax other sold or the price was an error. When I arrived for the test drive everyone was gracious. Ali was my salesperson and he took me for a test drive and showed me all of the bells and whistles. When I inquired about it being AWD he was certain it wasn't although the description said it was. It took five people to figure out it is. I didn't even want to put one star. I'm not sure how this place stays in business. Beyond pushy and aggressive sales men, a service manager that needs anger management, a finance woman who is extremely nasty and rude (even in front of small children). We visited Imperial as a first stop when looking to finance our first vehicle. We had never financed a car before- so it was a big purchase for us and we had a ton of questions. We found a car we liked but before signing anything we wanted all the info we could get on how the car buying process goes. Imperial doesn't do that- all they want is your signature for their sale. My family and I were traumatized after spending 5 hours at Imperial when we were initially only there for an "appointment" to test drive. Which ultimately ended in us leaving abruptly because our salesman kept lying to the sales manager and finance woman and had them under the impression that we were purchasing a vehicle that night- when all we wanted was to ask questions. Which in turn left the finance and sales manager screaming at us (with our child there). It was the worst first dealership impression we could've ever gotten. After a few months we grew the courage to go look at cars again, and ended up at Herb Chambers Ford in Westborough... and it was the complete opposite experience. They were 100% top notch. We were looking at a $14,000 Fusion at Imperial, but ended up with a $30,000 Taurus at Herb Chambers and couldn't feel better about it. Then last June I had a problem with my 2015 Fusion and wrote a letter to the owner (The all mighty Kevin Meehan) to see if he could assist in some way. I sent the letter to his home address in Millis and to the business to make sure he got it. To this day, I never received a reply of any kind. That says a lot about the type of person he is. My experience at Imperial Ford, in the little town of Mendon. I made appointment on 7/10 to address a recall issue with my wife's 2004 Ford Freestar. I also mentioned that I had dead battery (replaced locally by another auto shop) and that battery was under warranty (27 months old). I asked the service person for some consideration for the battery and was told that the service manager should be able to help with that and that I should discuss it with him when I get in. Dropped off car on Sunday 7/26. I received call on Monday that the car needed the recall work. I was told they needed to order the part. I was told I would receive a call by Monday COB to tell me if the car would be ready Tuesday or Wednesday. I did not receive call until Tuesday morning. On Tuesday 7/28, spoke to Louis at Imperial Ford who stated that the recall was fixed, but that the car had issues with the wiring on the Mass Air Flow Sensor. I asked about the issue. He explained the car might fail to start or stall if the item needed to be replaced. I said that the car had never experienced any symptoms of a failing mass air flow sensor and no check engine lights had come on. I told him to have them diagnose the issue further. Later on Tuesday, I spoke to Louis again. He confirmed that the Mass Air Flow Sensor needed to be replaced and a front end alignment was needed. I asked how much this would cost, he stated $570. I asked about any consideration for the battery. I said that if I got my $90 back for the battery, I would have the Mass Air Flow Sensor replaced. ($517 - $90 = $427). He said he would discuss with the Parts department. Louis called back. He said that the Parts department would give me a new battery. I told him I already had a new battery. He said maybe I could get the other shop to take that one back. I asked if the car was able to be driven. He said yes. I told him that he was not authorized to perform the work and I would bring it somewhere else. I picked up the car at 5:30 on Tuesday. I paid $99 for the diagnosis of the issue with the Air Flow Sensor. The service person asked why I did not have the part fixed, and I reiterated the above sequence of events. He said he was sorry and felt that was not right. He had the car pulled around. I went to start the car and it stalled within 20 seconds. I tried it again and it stalled again. I went back to the service person and told him the car stalled. He looked perplexed and tried the car himself. It stalled again. A tech started the car and it stalled again. They eventually drove the car away at very low speed. At this point I expressed my utter frustration and dismay with this experience. My wife (who had dropped me off and I had to have her come back and get me) then came into the shop and asked how her car, which was perfectly fine when it was dropped off, was no longer working. The service person said he would talk to his manager first thing in the morning and call me. On Wednesday, I called imperial Ford at 11:00 am (no one had called me). I talked to someone who said they would call me back within 10 minutes. At 11:50, I called back and spoke to John. He asked for a copy of the battery receipt. I asked if that was all they were going to do. He said I should talk to his manager and he would have his manager call me within a half hour. He called me back at 12:20 looking for the receipt. I told him I would send it after I talked to Dave (his manager). He said Dave would call me shortly. I called back at 12:45 and asked to speak to Dave. Dave had me tell my story and then he told me his story. Dave said this was partially there fault. On Monday, when the tech went to drive the vehicle in, it stalled. He said the check engine light was on. Dave told the folks to call me and they never did until Tuesday. He said if they had just called on Monday, then I would never have been upset about the situation. After some discussion, Dave agreed to cover the battery, credit the diagnostic fee toward the part, and not charge the labor. Ultimately, I got my car back on Thursday (the part that they were going to replace on Tuesday was out of stock on Wednesday). It cost me $225 to fix a problem that I never had before I dropped off the vehicle at Imperial Ford. When I picked up the car, the service techs asked me if I was now happy. I told them no and how I found it amazing that the paper work they printed on Tuesday never mentioned anything about the vehicle stalling on Monday. I also said how the service folks never mentioned it to me until the Service Manager told me on Wednesday. The bottom line, I do not trust the work that was done on the vehicle, believe that I was lied to during the whole process and I will never do business with any of the Imperial Cars franchises again. I will, however, tell everyone and anyone that asks about buying or servicing a car to go somewhere else. read more

My roommate just bought a car through a different dealership as she was looking for a Nissan Rogue, and they were a bit pushy and awkward at times. I went in by myself to look, and Dean was very laid back and walked me through a couple of options. Went back 2 days later to do all the paperwork, and drove the car home the same day. No stress, the finance guy was also very friendly and easy to deal with. Purchased an used low mileage certified Ford SUV; after being guaranteed the pre- existing engine oil leaks would be corrected because sales & service assured me they were Ford specialist. After the 5th attempt to correct the leaks the technician repaired the problem by replacing many-many seals and gaskets and I muttered something about the lemon law too?. Not feeling confident I had the vehicle inspected by an independent shop for an unbiased evaluation and was told the front brake flex hoses were damaged and are considered a safety concern. If a vehicle is being sold as " Ford Certified" who does it protect. I felt like a burden during my many visits to resolve several oil leaks and safety issues for a vehicle bought less than 3-months ago. I did a ton of research and knew what the fair value of the vehicle I wanted was as well as the value of my trade. I had been looking for a 2016 Ford Escape and had been emailing/calling back and forth with the Internet rep Sarah Burns. She was very polite and friendly. She quoted me on 2 vehicles, what rebates I qualified for, etc. Thinking I had found a good deal on the car I wanted I made an appointment for that evening and drove 1.5 hours to the dealership. When I got there I asked for Mike the manager (as Sarah had instructed me to do so) and Mike passed me over to Paul, who was also very friendly. It wasn't until we sat down to talk numbers that I realized I had been mislead. Paul told me I didn't qualify for some of the rebates Sarah quoted me on for both cars. After speaking with Mike for nearly 15 minutes, he agreed to the sales price I was quoted. THEN came my trade-in, I had been quoted anywhere from $19.5-21K for my car at other dealerships, KBB, Edmunds, and had even submitted a quote on THEIR online "Black Book Trade-In Tool" that came back with the same range, BUT they refused to give me anything over $18K. Outright refused! I couldn't believe I was being low balled. I asked to speak to the Mgr Mike to figure out why and he said they used their own appraisers and wouldn't consider any other number "Take it or leave it" and walked away. At this point it was near closing time, and as I was sitting there discussing the deal with Paul THEY SHUT OFF THE LIGHTS! TO THE ENTIRE DEALERSHIP! I saw a 2014 ford fusion for sale at a great price with many options and low mileage on line. I called several times that day before taking a 1 and a half hour ride in bumper to bumper traffic on the turnpike to possibly buy it. I spoke with sales people three times that day and two of those conversations took place while I was on the way up there. The car was still available they said and to come by. I got there and the car was no where to be found. Finally the sales person told me it was sold. A quick sale and it was off of the lot in an hour? Or was it a bait and switch? Or was it false advertising to get customers in? As the old saying goes if it sounds too good to be true it probably isn't. Not too happy with this dealership. For Thanksgiving I hosted a friend from Pennsylvania. Her ford had some engine issues from her drive up. I brought her to Imperial Ford so that they could help tell her what was wrong and perhaps repair the engine. She basically needed a new engine so she left the car at the dealership so that they could switch out the engine. After a couple weeks, and a lot of money spent, the car was supposedly fixed and I was able to drive it back down to her. Unfortunately, after just a few days it became apparent that her vehicle was not fixed and she couldn't drive it. She brought it to her local Ford dealership and after some time they were able to get the vehicle back on the road again. I was disappointed that my dealership claimed to fix the issue yet when we realized they hadn't, we tried to get some money back and they wouldn't help financially. The reason I brought her to my dealership (Imperial) in the first place was because I thought they were reliable since they are such a big place. I am almost under the impression that they didn't provide much help because she lives so far away and most likely will never return to them. Overall, she spent a lot of money on nothing. read more
