It's In-N-Out, everyone. There are no surprises, you know exactly what you're getting. I enjoy a hamburger, double meat, extra produce, with raw onions. I get a side of well-done fries and I call it a day. Unfortunately, I had a weird mixture of fry textures the last time I went. I enjoy eating them like potato chips and what I got was some soft, some lukewarm, and some fries that were scalding hot. I've notice this place is kind of sloppy with its vegetable placement. It's not the end of the world, but some people make my sandwich real pretty and I appreciate that. I find it hard to imagine some one saying, "Hey, I heard about this burger joint, it's called In-N-Out. You ever been there? Maybe we should check it out some time." Of course everyone has heard of In-N-Out. Now granted the restaurant was busy as it always is but Brianna R at the front counter needs to learn to listen we came in today to order some lunch ordered 2 double doubles xtra cheese animal style a #2 protein style with animal style fries and drinks had to clarify the order 5 times during the ordering process because she wasn't not listening to the order in detail as she should be. After she repeated it back to us what we recieved had no fries, when I asked about the fries they stated we would have to be charged and have to wait after waiting 20 minutes for our food. To hell with that Brianna R needs to be retrained or fired for not doing her job and we shouldn't have to pay for fries and wait additional time for them after already waiting. I went here around 11pm on a Saturday. There was a lot of people, but no lines inside In n Out. However, there was a long line out in the drive thru. I decided to eat inside instead. My order was taken correctly and came out in no time. My only complaint is the cleanliness of the place. The restroom was really dirty. The trash was over flowing. The tables were also filthy. The drive thru was packed and no one was inside I think the rain was the culprit. I strolled in and ordered a double double with fries and a small drink hold the cheese. Other than the obvious satisfying food and good service (mostly), this In-N-Out is cool because you might see someone you know in this college town. Considering UCD population numbers it's not actually all that bad. At In-N-Out it's all about the consistency. They have a winning formula and they don't tinker with it. There are no "Promo" or "Available for Limited Time" items. They do burgers and fries, that's it. There are varieties of different "secret" customizations but that is it: burgers and fries. The drive through is not as fast as one might wish but again, that might just be a part of the appeal of In-N-Out, that you can actually see your food coming out fresh. The burgers are great for the price. You can probably get a better burger in Davis but it will be in the vicinity of $10. For drive through/fast food it doesn't get any better than In-N-Out. Plus a hamburger costs only $1.69 and fries made from a potato in front of your eyes are only $1.29! I noticed that some reviews gave bad ratings for their counter service, but i got to disagree that. When i was eating today, a guy with a birthday cupcake came in with his friends. A worker (white girl with glasses) at the counter sang birthday song for him and took the food to their table. She even went all the way to grab some ketchop for them before she put the burgers and fries on their table. You definitely won't find this in anywhere or in any fast food shop in America.
