It's located in the middle of a busy industrial part of Poway so lunch time on a week day is extremely crowded, regardless I'm always pleasantly surprised by how quickly my food comes out. Yesterday it only took 5 minutes from placing my order to walking out! I got a hamburger protein style, and splurged on some animal style fries, everything was hot and fresh and all my customizations were exactly how I ordered. Went here at 1030am and only around 3 people were in the restaurant. Initially my reaction was that it was the slowest in n' out I have ever been to. Today I went in during lunch which the place was packed which shows that even though the place is full people are willing to wait the time because they know they are getting quality product. I ordered a double double with onions protein style and it did not disappoint. The lettuce was crisp and cold and the meat and cheese was fresh and hot. What is not to love about In N Out? I seems to crave this in my pregnancies and it makes my husband happy. This location is a couple years old, so newest for the area. We came on a friday afternoon smack dab in the middle of lunch hour. Holy moly was it busy - AFTER we left. hehehe. This spot is located smack dab in the middle of the business parks, so everyone cruises over on their lunch. We were able to order with the guy standing outside before going through the drive-thru. As we left the drive-thru, the line of cars were almost to Kohls. It was crazy. Food: always delicious. I typically get a protein burger to avoid the carbs but not this time. I ordered the cheeseburger meal (#2) with fries and pink lemonade. Lemonade is always freshly squeezed and refreshing. The fries were crispy and yummy with the spread dip. If the baby loves it, then mama is happy. The burger was cooked to perfection: juicy, melty cheese, fresh veggies and toasted bun. Always great, no complaints. Service: didn't go inside this trip, but both girls working the cash window and drop off window were super friendly and nice. It's pretty hard to find an In-N-Out that would deserve a rating less than 5 stars. This location has plenty of parking. A drive thru that is easy to navigate. Usual great pricing. While I'm sure In-N-Out's mission statement doesn't include the phase "if it ain't broke, don't fix it", I'm certain that thought process is somewhere in the back of their minds. The thing I like about In-N-Out in general is the simplistic manner that you get from each and every one. You're not going to find all the frills and add on items that you will at many of the other chain type burger joints. Instead you will find consistency in a business model that obviously works. Think about it....have you ever been to an In-N-Out that hasn't been busy regardless of the hour? While I am not a huge fan of their fries (I know...call me crazy) I absolutely love love love their burgers. My taste buds will take a double double animal style anytime over some gourmet burger. Sure...I love bacon added to my burger as much as the next guy but here, it really isn't needed. I also appreciate the fact that the food is served to order and always seems to be hot even if I've ordered "to go". This location is a little off the beaten path and is the least busy location I've been to. Service is always spot on, food is fresh and the place in general, is spotless. OMG! I've never been so close to being at an IN-N-Out so close to it's conception! This place JUST OPENED! It's so squeaky clean and new! On this particular hangover day, I ordered a Double Double with no onions. It reminded me that I don't really like IN-N-OUt. Yea., I know. So sue me. Or don't because I really don't have the funds for that. But that's neither here nor there.. My friend ordered a grilled cheese with grilled onions.. yes, they make that for the veggie people (i was one for a little while, but am struggling with the concept, since there is still bacon on the earth...). Typically this is everything but the burger. On this day, it was cheese and grilled onions in a bun. FAIL. Come on, brand new In-N-Out.. get the grilled cheese right... Also did not appreciate the outside order taker's extremely lame attempt to flirt with us by pretending our order consisted of 30 burgers. I mean... really? Not a way to make girls feel pretty. Uh, I'm secretly sad they opened this location. Double, double and shakes are way too easy to get now. The drive thru line was about 10 deep on my visit, but the line still moved quickly and my food was still piping hot and fresh. The guy taking the orders was efficient and oh so accurate. My guess is they had some seasoned employees come from other locations because it was like they'd been open for years. Since Staples and Kohl's are never really busy, you'll always find a parking space, unless you're like me and would rather sit in your car for twice as long in the drive thru just so you don't have to get out. This In-N-Out is like almost all of the others that I've visited... It has one BIG flaw. It needs more tables inside and out on the patio. It would be good to have a covered patio as well as it can get hot out here in Poway. But, the food is almost always good. This time though they slathered on mustard. The person that made my burger must drink the stuff cause I had to take my burger apart and literally wipe off some mustard. The cashier and the staff at the front are nice. The only fast food I will eat! I love In N Out, the food is always good. I wanted to leave a review for the Poway location because I won't drive to that location if I want fast food anymore. Out of the 7 times I've gone to that location, I was sitting in the drive through line for 30 minutes, which is surprising because the line was average each time. I would much rather drive farther to the Carmel Mountain location because I'm out of there in 10 minutes regardless of how long their line is. Who doesn't like In-N-Out? This gets five stars on a relative basis -- versus its fast-food peers. My burger of choice is the cheeseburger animal style. It's always fresh. I know a lot of people like In-N-Outs fries, but I'm not a fan. As such, my review doesn't contemplate the fries (which I'd give three stars). The shakes are good. The drink selection, while not extensive, is good enough for me. Pink lemonade or 7up for me. This location is excellent. The drive-thru staff is always friendly and they don't mess the order up. I am a type 1 diabetic and just had a pretty severe low over at Kohl's in the same mall. After I stabilized a bit, we went to get some protein at In-N-Out. This one is always clean and quick with enough seating for everyone. I was still pretty woozy which is why my daughter was able to talk me into having a chocolate shake with her number 2 meal. I've been to plenty of in-n-outs but the other day I pretty much had the best burger I have ever eaten. For some reason this time it tasted so much better. This location is tucked away in a primarily residential neighborhood so it tends to be less crowded than the In-N-Outs in Mira Mesa and Mission Valley. The hamburger always tastes fresh with a warm patty, perfectly toasted bun, and cold crisp lettuce. As for the fries, I like them well-done and with a packet of their secret sauce to dip them in. Yumm Did you know you can order a root beer float?? Apparently, it's root beer mixed with their vanilla milkshake. I drove through the drive thru at night and the menu board was not illuminated to see what types of food and beverages they offer. I know they have a pretty standard menu so I knew what I wanted. The wait was not long and I received my order fairly fast. This location is my absolute favorite of all I have EVER been to. Burgers and fries are always perfectly cooked, always fresh, hot, and delicious. The service is awesome, the employees are super courteous and the tables and restrooms are always clean. I don't think I've ever experienced a long wait. I think the one thing I miss about living in Scripps Ranch is being close to this In-N-Out. We visited today and one of the employees helped bring a high chair to the table for me, brought hats and stickers for the kids, and even offered to bring me napkins, ketchup, and water.
