As someone who is from the East Coast but currently living on the West Coast, I have heard about this wonderful, epic place called In-N-Out burger. It was closed my first trip to Cali so I missed it. However, my boyfriend and I took a trip to Medford, Or and thought we would drive to Redding just so I could see what the hype was about. Uh...OK! The line pretty much exploded out the doors, but it did not take long to place your order. Service was speedy and friendly. I took a bite of the fries and instantly thought "what the hellion are these?" They taste like what I imagined my Playskool fake food from childhood would taste. Those were THE nastiest fries I had ever had. They were soggy and bland. I just had a regular hamburger, which was pretty good. It definitely wasn't the best burger I have ever had, but hey ... Now I can add my two cents in on an In'NOut conversation. read more

This is the last In-N-Out in CA if you are headed due north. It has been busy every time that I have stopped by and I rarely go inside to eat. My tip is to hit up the drive through and then park in the really large parking lot to eat one's meal. If you want a meal recommendation then get a Hamburger, Fries (Animal Style without the spread), a strawberry shake and a cup of water to wash it all down. Every time my boyfriend and I head down to CA, he has to get his In-N-Out Burger fix. I am never too excited because I don't eat meat and not a big fan of shakes. And then one day... I saw a tray full of french fries drenched in all sorts of gooey goodness. That was when I discovered "Animal Fries!" Animal fries are on the so called "secret Menu" that apparently isn't so secret. Smothered in sauce, grilled onions and even peppers if you like, the fries are magically transformed into something more exciting than just fries. Driving back up to Vancouver from our trip down to socal, we figured it would probably a blasphemy if we did not stop in at an In-N-Out before we left Cali. Seeing as we were on a mission to make the drive in one-go, and not having stocked up on food like we had on the drive down, we decided to pull into Redding and find this joint. The burger itself was really just deserving of 3 stars but I give them an extra star for their friendly and excellent customer service - nothing too fancy but it's nice to have people take the order with a smile instead of the typical I-hate-this-job facial expression you encounter at too many fast food joints. If you have to work job you hate might as well put a smile on! This is exactly what the people at this location did and for that I give you kudos. Back to the burger, I myself got the double double and my other two friends got the cheeseburger animal style and a regular cheeseburger. The biggest complaint from all of us was that we could barely taste the patty, which was rather disappointing... Fries weren't anything to write home about either but at the end of the day, it got the job done.I was pretty happy about the iced tea situation - unsweetened - something we are dearly lacking north of the border. read more

Ok, I doubt that has ever been said BUT honestly.. Don't you think those apartments would be in high demand!? I love this place. I came to Redding 6.5 years ago and fell in love the first time I tried In-N-Out Burger. Fast and friendly service, simple menu and amazing taste. I have yet to find a better fast food burger and yes, I've had 5 guys, they have nothing on In-N-Out! read more

Honestly I feel like this in and out is a bit lower in quality and service than most I've been to. I feel like they rush things here and get you through the line as fast as they can, which is too bad because while it is technically fast food in and out has always been known and admired for being quality fast food. Now I don't see it any different than McDonald's or Burger King to be honest. When I got my last meal there a few days ago the burger looked like it was thrown together haphazardly, with a giant chunk of white iceberg lettuce soggy and wet taking up most of the burger. I also noticed that now they have the person taking your money also handing out your food which I don't agree with or think is sanitary because she's handling dirty money probably coated in coronavirus and then handing you your drinks your straws your extra forks napkins spoons food bag etc, definitely won't be going here again. read more

This In-N-Out boasts something special. It's the northern most one, so it's the last one you can hit going north and the first one we Washingtonians hit coming south. It's always packed here, but they hustle and it goes FAST. I have to admit, my mom lives nearby and more than once I've used her as an excuse to get Animal Style fries and a Grilled Cheese with, as I like to put it "as many extra tomatoes as you can possibly give me." That phrase ended up yielding an entire tomato, cut up and ready for my dining pleasure. The staff here are always on their toes and smiling, having a good time and making my drives back home to California that much more special. It's nice to be able to stop here for an inexpensive dinner instead of feeding my kid not so fresh food from somewhere else. read more

I'm not a die-hard In-n-Out fan but the food there is good. My regular order is a double-double protein style ("secret" menu order=no bun) and it's consistently the same each time. I do like that the food there is prepared fresh and it's one of the better options around for a healthier fast food burger. read more

The chaos of this place might turn off many people, but don't be discouraged, your In-N-Out cravings will be satisfied very soon if you decide to stay. This In-N-Out served the same quality food as all the other locations that I've been to, so the only reason I'm reviewing this location is because I'm impressed on how good the service was. The drive thru stretched through the parking lot but we managed to get a good spot because someone was leaving as soon as we entered the area. Oh man, the employees were really energetic and on the ball about orders which I definitely prefer versus mopey crew members. This In 'N' Out is an outpost! Not another location for many miles so stop here if ya can. As with all of them, they get crazy busy from 11:30 to 1:00 so get there before or after those times if you're in a hurry. Drive-thru gets packed so going in is usually quicker. I will always love In N Out, even if I lived right next to it. This particular restaurant is pretty busy, probably being the most northern In N Out in Cali. People coming from the PNW stop by before going into Cali and people from Cali stop by before leaving. Exactly what I did as well. Ordered a double double animal style with animal style fries to eat, which were made perfectly and tasted wonderfully. Also ordered six burgers to-go, which they had no qualms of doing. Seattlelite-Washingtonian review. 3.5 stars I've tried In-N-Out years ago, but this is a fresh review of only a couple days ago. I got the animal style fries and animal style cheese burger. Honestly, without the animal style sauces which consisted of tangy thousand island like dressing then it would have been a normal burger. There isn't too much of an option, hamburger, cheeseburger and double double. The mini chopped caramelized onions are good though. Good, but not worth the drive from Washington, but rather a pit stop. I have burger joints like Dick's, Zippys, and Burger Express here in Seattle. Even Five Guys and Fatburger can compare. This place is sooooo busy!! I was on a trip down from Vancouver to Sacramento and just happened to be craving my protein burger (low-carb diet). There were massive lines out the door and out the parking lot! What gives? I'm not sure if it's like this all the time or if it was just the fact it was Spring Break, it took 30 min to get my burger (as well as everyone elses order in my car). Coming from a place where I have 2 In-N-Outs within a 5 minute drive and I can get my food under 5 min, it's crazy how busy this place was. When my husband and I drove down from Seattle to Sacramento this weekend, we stopped at this In N Out not once, but twice!! As other Yelpers have pointed out, this is the first In N Out you run into on your way into Northern California. We stopped on the way in, and again on the way out. Like other In N Outs, this one was clean, quick, and delicious. The employees were friendly and polite - they definitely seemed more cheerful than your typical fast-food employees. On the way in, we got grilled cheese sandwiches (animal style) and black-and-white milkshakes. YUM! On the way out, we got double-doubles, animal-style with peppers; fries animal-style; and neopolitan milkshakes. The best: neopolitan milkshakes and grilled cheese The worst: I didn't like the animal-style fries at all. Too heavy and gross. Basically the food was good and you get exactly what you want, the only reason for a lower rating is because the line went out the door into the parking lot...one reason why I think this in-n-out is so busy is because half the parking lot was filled with cars from Oregon mine being one of them...I saw people wearing blazers gear, Oregon state beavers shirts & bicycle Oregon logos...but don't blame us they just need to bulid one in Oregon & make them bigger! Oh yeah...In and Freaking Out! Travelling to the Bay and actually had this on my list to hit on the way down, but it was getting late and the kids had fallen asleep so I didn't want to wake them as silence is golden (though duct tape is silver) but the wife indicated she was hungry at the exact time we passed the exit I needed...no matter, quick jerk of the wheel and we are in striking distance. Long line in drive thru is a given here but at least they move people through quick and also food is turning over and therefore fresh. I'm not going to argue that these are the "Best burgers Anywhere Ever", but they are uniquely In N Out and that is awesome enough for me. My Double Double was fantastic and I even got the wife to go Animal Style which she greatly enjoyed.
