So many people I know rave about Raising Cane's and I was really excited to try it for the first time. We decided not to go opening day knowing it would be crazy, but we went the day after. The line inside was not very long and the store was extremely clean! I saw multiple people during our visit coming out to make sure everything was in order. The workers at the counter were super friendly and took our order without any issue. We purchased one of the plush Cane dogs, naming him Cane Evan Jr., to support the human society! We ordered a six piece, four piece, and sandwich. I have zero complaints about the food! The chicken was thick and juicy with a very light, crispy breading and good flavor. The fries were crispy, and I absolutely loved the Cane's sauce! Their sauce is something a lot of people talked about so it had a lot of hype and, in my opinion, lived up to it. I enjoyed how the coleslaw broke apart the flavors of the other food with its perfect level of vinegar and crunch. Even really enjoyed the toast, although I never understood adding toast to a basket like that. I got a lemonade and thought it had the perfect level of sweetness. If you're looking for good chicken strips, Cane's is now the place! Prices were decent for the amount of food received as well. The double drive thru all the way to the end is game changing! This facility is very clean throughout the lot which I love to see when eating food. We got lucky when we arrived as there were very few cars. We ordered at the very nice young lady standing next to the speaker that they don't use. She got our order in quickly but that's when things went south (get it...Southern Based Franchise???). The lady at the end asked our name when we were in front and looked a bit confused. I recited our order to help her out but we saw her going to all of the cars around us with bags of food. About 10 minutes later as traffic was backed up she realized the nice young lady put my name in horrendously...a female name for a male patron does cause confusion. She gave out our room temperature food after figuring it out and when I checked for the extra sauce I paid for, it wasn't there. She got the sauces and we left to allow traffic to flow once again. As we were driving away, we noticed there weren't any straws so had to make the drive home staring at my drink. The food was pretty good. Cole slaw was good. Fries were slightly above average but the fry sauce helped. The chicken tenders were above average but could use more seasoning (Chik fil A is better). The sweet tea and toast are off the chart good. I went to Raising Canes on opening day. I was so excited for the food, I forgot to get a picture, but I did get one of the lemonade and hat. I know what you're thinking "another chicken place in Redding?", but this one is THE one. Yes, you could probably replicate this at home as another reviewer said, but their chicken strips are the best fast food/ restaurant chicken strips in Redding, and I've tried them all. They are delicious and moist. The fry sauce is fire. They put some kind of seasoning in it to make it different from every other fry sauce and it works well. The garlic bread was also good! I bought 3 of the 3 piece meals and it came to about $36. The staff was super friendly even with the craziness of all the people. This is your sign to give it a try if you haven't already! read more

First experience with this establishment was not a good one. Especially after waiting three years from announcement to opening day. Having done a little homework I had anticipated an experience very like their competitor, a major chain that starts with the letter Z, which offers a nearly identical menu. Nothing could be further from the truth. I ordered a 6 strip plate and a 4 strip plate. Total was $35.63. The only seasoning to be found in those plates was the cup of Cane's sauce which is a mixture of ketchup, mayonnaise, black pepper, garlic powder and Worcestershire Sauce. There was no seasoning whatsoever on either the fries or the chicken. Zero salt. ZERO. The strips were breaded in plain flour and were dead bland. The fries were bland and limp. No crisp at all. The coleslaw was WARM and tasted off after one bite and we did not consume it and tossed it immediately. One might think that after such a long wait, Cane's might have been better prepared to put their best foot forward. They missed the mark. By a LOT. Will not be returning nor recommend. read more

The toast was alright, but it could easily be replicated and you could easily have it at home for under $17 for a plate! Lots of chicken fast food places now in Redding, one of the newer ones is Kanes and we tried it yesterday. First of all, the music was blaring so loud you couldn't even hear yourself place an order. The whole vibe was like a bar only without the alcohol, or a tailgate party going on indoors. So, we ate quickly and got the heck out of there and immediately felt overwhelming relief to be out of the chaos and noise. What on earth was Kane thinking when they blasted us with music at an extremely high volume, what was the point? One of the issues is that eating out even in a fast-food venue is expensive so you have reasonable expectations that the food will be good and the ambiance and experience will be at least pleasant and not offensive, Is this some sort of trend to blast customers with noise so they forget what they are eating and the price they are paying? As to the food it was not real bad but then not good, thus the one star here. First of all, yes, the deep-fried white chicken is super soft, almost unnaturally soft which leads me to question what they are doing to process the chicken. Secondly, for me, I did not care for Kanes sauce as I thought it had a strange taste, I much prefer Chik-fil-A sauce in fact we buy it at the supermarket to have at home. Thirdly the fries were void of flavor or crispness just wimpy and overall bland. Last but not least, the coleslaw was a disaster, it was incredibly tightly packed in the tiny plastic container, and the dressing was all over the outside of the container, not just a little but the outside doused in the dressing, yuk. Speaking of menu, it couldn't be narrower, chicken strips and more chicken strips and that is it. We were reeling from the horrific loud crazy environment in Kanes and disappointed with the food and the high prices. We can't think of any reason to go back. read more

First and Last time at Canes. Not sure why they are even so popular but not for me. Sandwich by itself over 10 bucks. The chicken is so heavily breaded, and deep fried it appear much larger than the piece of chicken itself.
