Drive-thru service was expedited by an order taker at the end of the driveway. The burger patty was a reasonable size. The employees were courteous and cheerful. The food was disappointing. We ordered two burgers with onion @ $3.60 each and one order of fries @ $2.30 and the order total came to $10.19 and they have no senior discount. We hadn't ordered from this location in 10 years and the French fries are just as bad as we remembered. The burger bun was over-toasted and the thick slice of onion is apparently served completely raw. There was plenty of lettuce and the single slice of tomato was OK. There was a messy lots of mayonnaise and no ketchup, no mustard, no pickles, though I guess we could have asked for those. When we got home, I fixed mine by dumping the fries and raw slice of onion in the trash, eating the lettuce and tomato as a side salad and discarding the scorched bun and replacing it with a hot dog bun I had at home, tearing the burger patty to fit the hotdog bun. Then I added salt, pepper, ketchup, mustard, pickle relish, and warmed it all back up in the microwave because the lettuce had chilled the beef patty. There was only one small bone chip in the burger patty, so that was about average for fast food places. Maybe we'll try again in 10 more years, but the burgers will probably be $5 each by then. My wife lamented, wishing that the Red Lobster across the intersection from the IN-N-Out hadn't closed down last Spring. For $20 more, we could have split a single New York steak dinner with baked potatoes and steamed broccolli and garlic biscuits that would have more than filled us up. I guess some people like these burgers at In-N-Out because they were fairly busy, but I'd prefer to get a plain hamburger at Burger King. Or at Carl's Jr. where I can get grilled onions. read more

Some nights, I dream of Double-Doubles. When I'm tired and on the road in California, I have experienced what is known as Highway-Double-Double-Hypnosis. When this occurs, every vehicle I see seems to resemble a Double-Double with no onions, and in my nose there is a continuous perceived scent of freshly cut and fried potatoes. Since it's the north most In-N-Out in California, and the closest to the Pacific Northwest, this place gets a lot of traffic, and they sure can handle it. The burgers and fries were consistently delicious but the staff are what make this the best In-N-Out. They were friendly, fast and super helpful with my poor memory of the secret additions. I've been here multiple times from Oregon and maybe it's just because all we have is crap food where I live but I always LOVE EATING HERE! The food is amazing and the staff is always smiling and helpful, I really enjoy eating here. Even when things get REALLY busy like around lunch the staff still smile and are friendly. Don't hate me. I was looking forward to trying this place. ...for the past 20 years. My MIL could not wait to take me and my husband for the first time. Okay....Mother in law and father in law ordered two hamburgers and a Diet Coke. I had to try the fries and shake. No need to review the food -- it's In-N-Out -- you know what you're going to get. This is a review of the location -- Redding, CA. The funny thing about Redding is that while it looks exactly like so many other California cities, it feels decidedly un-California. Perhaps it's the proximity to Oregon. Perhaps it's my thought that any part of California from Redding on north isn't really California at all. I don't know. I've been to many INOBs in my time, and this one feels so much unlike all the others. And should I ever manage to find my way to the Utah, Arizona, and Texas locations, I suppose I'd feel the same. But this one feels especially weird, since it's still you know, in California. There are always tons of deprived teenagers from places all over unloading their yellow buses on their way back to their country homes. And given its location, lots of tourists come this way too. Obviously, lots of expatriated Californians exiled in Oregon manage to find their way to Redding as well. A real mish-mash of people you really won't find at this chain's original southern California locations. So yes, you'll satisfy your Double-Double fix here. Consistent after all these years! as a vegetarian I avoided in n out burger for many years as I didn't think there was anything I could order for dinner here anymore. Yesterday I had a grilled cheese with tomato, "animal style" and it was just like having a full on regular burger here. It brought back all the memories of my teenage years of enjoying an in n out burger on a hot summer day before my vegetarian days. My friend had her double double wrapped in lettuce as she is gluten-free and she said hers was every bit as delicious as one with the bun as well. The thick lettuce they provide as a bun for GF folks is great - it actually provides something to hold onto when you're eating your burger - great work and kuddos to this location for good service and getting us in and out of there in less than 20 min. read more
