My son has been begging to try Five Guys, so we finally stopped in--and honestly, I'm glad he pushed it because this spot delivered a full-on burger -approved, mom-approved, vibe-approved experience. The staff greeted us with warm smiles and good energy. The restaurant was spotless, bright, and surprisingly spacious with plenty of indoor seating and a chill patio setup. It had that clean, open, "we actually care about our space" feel--not always guaranteed at a burger joint. We ordered the cheeseburger combo with drinks and fries, and everything came out fresh to order. Let me just say: this burger had range. Stacked with lettuce, tomatoes, caramelized onions, pickles, mushrooms, mustard, and their house dressing, it looked like something your cool foodie friend would post on Instagram. Not smashed, not sloppy--just clean layers and proud presentation. You could tell the cook had aesthetics on the mind. A burger that respects itself? We love to see it. And then the fries. The fresh-cut, cooked-to-perfection kind that stay crispy even after you've talked too long before digging in. Five Guys is known for tossing extra fries into the bag, and yes--they delivered on that promise. Crispy. Golden. Addictive. OMG-level delicious. They've got a nice lineup of dipping sauces, but we accidentally discovered a masterpiece: A1 + buffalo mixed together. I don't know who needs to hear this, but go ahead and put that combo on your burger and your fries. Life-changing. You're welcome. Even though the place had a steady flow of people (it's clearly a neighborhood favorite), our food came out fast, hot, and fresh. Zero waiting-around energy--just straight-up good service. Overall, Five Guys gets a solid 5 out of 5 from us. Great burgers, perfect fries, friendly staff, and a clean environment that feels low-key modern and kinda hip. My son walked out grinning, I walked out full and happy, and we both agreed we'd definitely come back. If you're craving a good burger without the fuss and free peanuts, Five Guys is the move

Came in for lunch, cashier was friendly with a smile. Was greeted and she asked if I was ready to order. I said I have a question. Have you tried the patty melt? She said it was great. I think I will try that today. I ordered it with all the fixings and made it a combo. Cajan fries and a medium soda. I got my order number then went to choose my soda. They have a Coca Cola style soda dispenser. Has many soda flavors to choose from. Lots of diet soda that I like. I got the Fanta Zero Pineapple. My food was ready in about 7 minutes. Hot and tasty!

Small fry for the price of a Large salted fry

Literally paid for a large fry but got a small fry portion. My son will only eat five guys fries and we go every Friday. This is the smallest portion he has ever received. I go to this one because the service is always great, tonight was no different but the fries are disappointing.

Its been years, since I been here because several years ago, the Burgers were not as good as before but today, I was hungry. I must say, the Bacon Cheeseburger and fries were the best, that they have ever been.

Cheese not melted.
Cheeki G.

The cheese is never melted through. It's obvious the cheese was placed on the patty after it's cooked but if it's not cooked hot enough it's not going to melt all around. Every single time I go here I think maybe this time it will be melted through but nope it never is. For a $15 cheese burger melt the dang government cheese already. If In-N-Out can do it Five Guys can too!

Jasmine & the 5 Guys staff went above & beyond tonight (11-4-24) for my son's 13th birthday! Service and food were great as usual, & Jasmine sang happy birthday with us! Then she gave my son a gift certificate and the whole staff sang hbd again to him! Thank you for making a chill birthday dinner epic!

Solid, centrally located 5 Guys in Clairemont Mesa. Plenty of parking and no wait on a weekend during dinner time. Enjoyed my hot dog loaded up with toppings plus Cajun fries!

It was my first time trying out Five Guys. I've always heard about it through friends but I've never had the chance to make a visit. Now that I've had my first taste, I'll come back again. The burgers are very juicy with a thicker patty. You can choose any toppings and make the burger your way. I expected the burger to be bigger but it was still tasty. Service from workers is good. I was given recommendations and the top popular orders. Milkshakes are very comforting as well. They aren't too thick and it's easy to digest. The store is small but there is plenty of seating. The store is also kept clean so I'd definitely recommend this place to grab a fast bite or dine with friends.

Received the bag at 12:47.

30 minute wait for a cheeseburger and fries. There were 2 people in line in front of me. I watched my burger sit there and get cold. I love 5 Guys and the food but I can't justify spending nearly $30 on burger/fries/drinks for a wait like that ever again.

Nice location with indoor and outdoor seating

The smell of the food cooking had everyone excited and gathering around the cart before it was even time to eat. David stayed engaged with our guests, kept everything running smoothly and made the experience feel special. We received so many compliments on the food and everyone left happy and full. Along with the corn and cheese fries. I had the chili dog which is delicious and the California which I loved! The hot dogs are great quality and so good! I also love the cheese and fries, soooo tasty. The bun was a little big for me, but my fiancee loved it. It was a large brioche bun that was toasted nicely. The prices were around 9-11 for a dog which isn't horrible. If your in the mood for a fun and filling hot dog, this is a great choice!

I love the concept of breweries sharing space with food trucks in general except you get the option of THREE breweries here! In term of food, we ordered the Jessie burger & Banh Mi Hot Dog. Our FAVORITE item we always seem to order is the Jessie burger. The burger is incredibly flavorful and is feel so balanced with the kimchi and jalapenos. The Banh Mi dog is a fun Vietnamese twist of the hot dog. I love the brightness of the veggies and jalapenos but to be honest I would recommend the Jessie burger more so than the Banh Mi dog!

Yet, it stands out as one of my favorites, and I find myself ordering from them frequently. One of the things you will notice as soon as you approach the place is how clean and net their food truck is. Their menu features burgers, corn dogs, fries, and more, all with a twist and a variety of flavorful options. Among my personal favorites are the Goblin's Club and Jalapeno Popper Corn Dog. The corn dogs are notably large, with a batter that's never oily, always maintaining a tender and flavorful quality. The Animal fries, a perfect side to burgers and corn dogs, are never overly salty, and the generous portions of golden, perfectly cooked fries are a must-try. The Classic Burger and The Jesse Burger are standout choices, boasting substantial sizes with soft and fluffy buns. The sauces and flavors elevate them above your typical burgers - vegan or not. What sets Underdog apart is not just their delicious offerings but also the friendly and accommodating team behind the scenes. They are pleasant individuals dedicated to their advocacy of normalizing delicious plant-based food. In my opinion, they are doing an excellent job of offering delicious comfort food classics that can be responsibly enjoyed for generations. This is a business that I will continue to support.

I like that they came out at just the right temperature too (vs other places are super hot and you need to take time to cool before eating). The only thing I was sad about was I got a full sausage this time, thinking it would be the regular size... but my partner's half mozz half sausage was much larger. I guess the size of sausage doesn't change - they just add mozz to the top for the half and half. I felt a bit shortchanged due to that (minus one star). Place is small but clean, and they've structured it in a way where there's still plenty of small tables around. The cafe next door is very trendy and small too so I do think a few people were actually from there. But all in all, it was noon on a Sunday, and not too busy even with the people from next door. We had a table easily, and the food and drinks (via Urban Bubbles, operating out of the same kitchen) came out fairly quickly. Parking is definitely hard. It's a tiny lot and paid parking. Knowing this, I just looked for street parking which was easy and not too far if you don't mind a short walk.

Luckily we still have Two Hands and even if Mira Mesa is a bit of a drive for me, I think the quality here is worth it when I get those cravings. I really love the spicy dog here, which comes topped with hot Cheetos crumbs and the signature sauce. I would definitely get this again if I feel like getting a more indulgent option. My go-to order is usually just the original corn dog with sugar and ketchup/mustard on the side. I switch it up between half mozzarella/dog and full mozzarella. So good! We shrugged it off because Korean style corn dogs seemed like a lot of fun and they had cheesy options for those not meat inclined along with meat options! Everyone wins! My thing is this, all of it was wayyyyyyyyyyyy too sweet for me. Like ridiculously so. This might be my own skills issue, because while well traveled I am not up on Korean food as much as say Lao or even Peranakan food. I've been a slow adopter so to speak. So damn sweet! The hot Cheeto does nothing, the dirty sauce is just super sweet. No depth, no acid, not even creamy. But people FREAKING love it! I can't fault the staff or execution. My meal (potato and dirty fries which were totally) were made fresh! Things were hot and fresh as promised. Just sickeningly sweet and lacking and sort of flavors I personally am into. Even a regular corn dog has depth of the corn meal my food don't have. It's a thing. I can't knock them because I got what I ordered. I just feel the whole scene isn't for anyone who likes depth of flavor if even in a bit of spice/smoke or any acid at all. It's basically sugar. Sugar everything! I say go and give it a whirl, but it might be for certain tastebuds who like everything SUPER sweet. Not for me, but plenty of fans out it there. Not for those who prefer their savory items to have savory elements.

I remember trying Sonoran-style hot dogs while visiting a friend in Tucson, AZ several years ago…read more After seeing Ochidoggy show up on the activity feed for my connections, I decided to visit this pop-up vendor in the southern part of the Normal Heights neighborhood. The setup was a simple cart under a canopy in a random parking lot on El Cajon Blvd. A few picnic tables with overhead cover were available if you wanted to eat your food on-site. Five different hot dogs along with french fries and a stuffed jalapeno pepper were offered on the menu. A typical Sonoran hot dog has a bacon-wrapped frank topped with pinto beans, onions, tomatoes, and other condiments. It's served on a bolillo bun. The Hot Dog Regular here contained bacon, grilled onion, red onion, tomato, and mayonnaise on a football-shaped bun which made it the closest resemblance to an original Sonoran. I chose two other varieties for my to-go order, a Hot Dog Jumbo and a Hot Dog Chilidogo. The first one had the same ingredients as the Regular with ham and American cheese added. The second one also had the same ingredients as the Regular, however the bacon-wrapped frank was stuffed inside a California pepper with grilled mozzarella cheese on top. Trays of condiments were arranged in front of the cart so you could select additional toppings. Four different sauce bottles were also available for more flavor. As you can see from my photo, both hot dogs were buried under the other components. The right type of bun was used which was very soft. I did feel that a gratuitous amount of mayonnaise was drizzled on top. I didn't add more toppings or sauces because there was already a sufficient spread. I am unsure if there are other businesses in the SD area that serve Sonoran-style hot dogs as I have not actively searched for them. I can say that the products I tasted from Ochidoggy were good enough for a four star rating.

The owner was extremely nice and friendly - explained all the options and toppings to us, and even came over to turn on the heater so it will be less cold while we eat. The food came out quickly and everything was super efficient. Hot dog was great - tasty soft bun, bacon wrapped hot dog really tasty, and enjoyed all the toppings.
