The food was delicious and the service was friendly. We were provided with cold glasses of waters shortly after sitting. We placed an order for drinks but we had to remind them about it. Understandable, as it was HAPPY HOUR busy! There was live music playing outside. Some guests brought their large dogs and were accommodated with seating outside. The price was very decent for feeding 3 adults. Update: I enjoyed my left overs! It was packaged by the staff prior to our departure. The Papa rellena was a new taste. As an appetizer, it was very filling that I was unable to complete my entree in one sitting. I was able to share a bite of my entree with my husband. He too stated that it tasted good! This is a small place with plenty of outside seating. Saw this in the neighborhood so wanted to give it a shot. It was amazing. It wasn't crowded and the service was quick. We started with two appetizers the potatoes in cheese and the fried stuffed potatoes. Both were fantastic. And as a bonus they provided these crispy corn snacks that were also tasty. Our main dishes were fantastic, my fish dish came with their salsa and it was tangy and refreshing. Loved everything we tried. However we were distracted by the TVs playing walk through videos of some amazing foreign cities, now we want to eat there again and go on more vacations. Will definitely come again. read more

Yum!!! We started dinner with two small bowls of tasty, salted nuts and two glasses of Chicha Morada, a blue beverage made from blue corn, pineapple, apples, lime, and cinnamon. The nuts and Chicha were a great way to get into the dinner mood. For the Chicha, it is sort of like Mulled Cider at the holidays, only served cool. Dinner included an order of Seco de Carne con Frejoles and Jalea de Mariscos. The carne was cooked to fork tender and set in a bed of canary beans. It was delicious. The Mariscos were a delight, with whitefish, mussels, calamari, and shrimp, covered with what I'd describe as a tangy slaw that added an acidic component to the dish...and it was perfect. Triple D was right: Inca is well worth the visit especially if you are looking for a change of pace, great food, and very reasonable prices. And Luis, the manager, made everyone, including us, feel at home. read more

Delicious! We started with the Pisco Sour and shared the Mixto Ceviche as an appetizer. The seafood was fresh and every bite was a flavor refresher. For or entree I had the shredded chicken, Aji De Gallina, and my hubby had the Seco Carne, beef dish. He likes his red meat but I have to say the chicken was superb and the sauce was delicate and flavorful. Our daughter had the vegetarian option, Tacu Tacu, and she cleaned her plate. Went here on a Friday night and got seated promptly. They have indoor and outdoor seating. The indoor area can get a little bit crowded as it is not very big, so if weather permits I prefer to sit outside. They had a violinist who made the ambiance very pleasant and relaxing. I got the Pisco Maracuya and the Tallarines a la Huacaina. The food was good although the steak on my tallarines was kind of though even though I got it medium (normally served well done). I would recommend getting it medium rare or rare. The noodles themselves were delicious and they paired really well with aji verde sauce. I highly recommend you getting a side of this sauce regardless of what you get. My drink was ok, smaller that I expected but had good Maracuya flavor. Overall it's a good Peruvian spot, I would recommend giving it a go if you are in the area. read more

Meh. Sorry. I love Villa Peru and wanted to love Inca as it's close to my house. Sadly just meh. Drink menu limited. Service lacking. Ambiance, great! Food, just ho-hum. Appetizer: papa a la huancaina, potato dish that was served room temp with a green hard boiled egg, one olive and nothing else. Server said my app plate was dirty and she'd be back with a clean one but it never happened. Main: pescado a lo macho: over cooked. White fish filet was oddly cut perfectly thin then seared but lacked flavor. I got exactly three shrimp and three rings of octopus. The sauce was tasty but I could tell it had MSG in it. The rice was perfectly cooked. Lomo Saltado: beef was tough. Bed of potato was three soggy steak fries. I know running a restaurant is hard business. Sorry. You can do better. read more

We were looking for a Peruvian restaurant in Tucson and we came across this place having good reviews. The place is tiny it has a rustic look and have patio seating. They have live music on the weekends. Service is fast, we were seated right away, and just a few minutes wait for our food. I would highly recommend to try their ceviche, it's really good! And as you were waiting for your food you will be served with fried corn kernels, which is really good! They have good list of alcoholic beverages, as well. read more

The Ají de Gallina is the best!... I tried the same dish at the restaurant in the north, and it doesn't compare. Here, it is prepared with the real ají, and not with palillo. In addition, the taste is 99% similar to the taste in Peru. 100% recommended :) I also try the dessert, and it was delicious. Im trying today, the Aguadito and the Pollo a la Brasa :) read more

Very disappointing, this place cuts corners big time and it shows. I am Peruvian so I know what the food should be like. Anyone who says this place is good is saying so because they probably don't know otherwise. The one positive is the guy playing classic Latin American rock on his violin, that was cool. I ordered chicha morada, papa rellena, and ají de gallina. Chicha morada was good but not completely cold and served in a small glass, it cost $4. Papa rellena did not appear fresh and seemed like it was just ground beef with taco seasoning. No hard boiled eggs, just one raisin. Very disappointing. I bet this place pre-cooks their food and keeps it in warming trays. This certainly seemed like it. Ají de gallina was awful! It looked like stewed shredded chicken and the Huancaina sauce was non-existent. It had a watery consistency which just looked like chicken broth and I honestly wanted to leave the restaurant after they brought me this dish. It also tasted extremely bland. This place must be hurting with the bottom line because they only gave me one potato slice and egg slice. Not even an entire hard boiled egg! Cmon. Having family in town that has never been here, We were really excited to bring them to this restaurant. We have loved it for several years. Granted we haven't been here in over a year due to living somewhere else mostly right now. So it was a parent things have changed! The menu has changed quite a bit it seems which is fine and expected. I feel like there wasn't a whole lot to choose from which was a little frustrating. Not to mention the waiter firmly snapped at us as we sat down "don't order anything with chicken because we don't have it. Don't blame us we just work here, tell her owners." Not really a great start to a fun evening meal. We attempted to order a few different types of drinks and we are again promptly told we don't have certain ingredients to make the drinks because we don't have them in house currently. So within 10 minutes, we were pretty frustrated. Not to mention when we got there Yes, they were busy, and we were told we had to sit outside but as four tables left we asked if we could move in and we were told no. Waited a few more minutes till two more tables left, which is basically the whole restaurant we went in and said we want to sit inside it's cold out. They begrudgingly let us sit inside. And then we were pretty much the only people in the restaurant so I don't understand why It was a big deal in the first place. We ordered our meals, one of which being the link weenie with beef. I was cautioned that it was more like spaghetti and not linguine. It was spot on spaghetti, which is totally fine with me. Tasted more like an Asian dish than a Peruvian dish. A family member ordered Carapulcra and really enjoyed the flavors. As we waited for our check, we heard staff talking about how busy they were, how understaffed they were, and how the owners just don't care. Definitely not something you want to hear as a customer sitting in a restaurant that you used to truly enjoy going to. Portions were tiny and over priced. Lomo Saltado was literally 4 small strips of beef. I had a dish with a cheese sauce that was curdled with maybe 3-4 small strips of beef. Not something I'd serve at a restaurant with paying customers. The staff seemed nice. And service was decent. I'd like to give them another try, because there aren't many Peruvian options in town. This used to be my favorite Peruvian restaurant, it's been years now that I hadn't tried it, as years ago I had terrible food so I stopped going. So I tried it again, I mean, it's still open! But sadly, my Agillo chicken (rotisserie chicken) with cilantro lime rice was horrific. So bad I asked for a sauce to camouflage the dryness and the overly reheated old rice from days of expired rice. It had no flavor. Chicken dried with zero flavor. I was looking forward to a fine dining experience and got my meals in to-go plastic containers (covid ughh) Regardless... the food was great. The pico sour (I think is called) was so good. When he said egg whites, I almost said no to it but it has alcohol, how bad can it be? Be careful, you don't taste the alcohol and will want to drink too many. Lol! The only thing I didn't like were the plain vegetables. They were steamed and I think they needed a little flavor or a better side. The rice had flavor! The fish all had great flavor. It's just all the veggies, plain steamed. Actually the green beans had water in it. Ohh! I loved the violinist. I'm not sure when he'll be there but I believe it was a Saturday. Inca's Peruvian catered a birthday party for 30 people in our home in Feb 2024. This was the second time we used their catering service. The food and service were outstanding and the cost seemed reasonable. We enthusiastically give Inca's a 5-star recommendation. The first helpers arrived with the appetizers just before our guests arrived. After placing bowls of Peruvian roasted corn nuts around the room for the first arrivals to enjoy, they set the table with a beautiful display of Causa Rellena, yellow potato cakes stuffed with veggies, and Yuquitas, slices of fried yucca root, accompanied by dipping sauces, all in pretty pottery dishes. Both of these delicious vegetarian and gluten-free appetizers drew raves from our guests. About 30 minutes later, the second team, including amiable restaurant owner Fatima Campos, arrived with hot entrées: Arroz con Mariscos, the Peruvian version of paella, red rice mixed with peppers, tomatoes, and generous amounts of shrimp, mussels, calamari and other seafood (also gluten-free), and Ají de Gallina, strands of pulled chicken breast served over sliced boiled potatoes in a lemony garlic sauce, with jasmine rice on the side. Inca's team stayed through dessert (we made flan and chocolate birthday cake), though they helped set it up and serve it. We hadn't anticipated that they would do that or that they would circulate and help pick up used plates and glasses but they did. Never had Peruvian food before. Had a lovely dinner at inca's last night. Rafael was our waiter and he was great. We shared Causa Rellena de Camarón with Shrimp, Papa a la Huancaina, Seco de Carne and Flan. Everything was delicious. The shrimp filling in the Causa Rellena was fabulous! I could eat a whole bowl of just that. The Carme was like put roast with just a little bit of spiciness. The flan was rich and creamy. The restaurant is cute and casual. Large outdoor seating area. Tasty peruvian food on the north side. My favorite thing to get at every peruvian place is always the cerviche - the one here has a great tanginess and a good mix of seafood. The seco de carne has a decent sauce, but I definitely wish there was a little bit more of it bc the meat was a bit dry. For drinks, I'd recommend the chicha morada (not too sweet) - as an fyi, if dining in, the "pitcher" opt is about half the size of the water pitcher. For dining during covid times, there's abundant outdoor seating with outdoor heating available. read more

Stopped by for lunch on a weekday so luckily avoided the crowds noted in other reviews and enjoyed seating on the patio. Staff was very friendly and food came out quickly. Though I'm not as well versed in Peruvian cuisine, I enjoyed the meal, and my husband said that it brought him back to the food he had when he traveled to Peru years ago. We shared the Lomo Saltado and Ceviche Mixto. The beef in the lomo saltado was tender and flavorful and came with potatoes and jasmine rice. The ceviche was so light and refreshing and had all the amazing tangy lime-y flavor throughout the seafood (my favorite part was the fish) with a hint of spice. Definitely will come back for their ceviche (maybe will have it just for myself!) and to try their chicken and pisco sour! read more

I'm a little torn writing this review. I really love the ambience, the friendly service, and the cocktails but I was very underwhelmed by the food. Let me start by saying, definitely get a drink! The piscos and mule are delicious and you can't really go wrong. You may find it hard to just have one ;) The food though... I had two vegetarian dishes. The quinoa salad and the tofu saltado. The quinoa salads was ice cold and soooo sour. I almost couldn't eat it. The tofu saltado was almost as disappointing. It was very salty and the only flavor was soy sauce. It reminded me of the stir fry they used to serve at my college cafeteria. I'm hoping the meat and more traditional Peruvian dishes are better... but didn't try those. The flan was definitely the highlight of the meal. It's a thicker, richer custard and very satisfying. Would recommend that. Overall, I just don't think I can go back for food. I enjoyed our visit and might come back for the friendly service if I had more guidance on what to order. But we tried their Sonoran Restaurant Week selections and either Peruvian food is very bland or they didn't put their best foot forward. I had unseasoned chili with meat and beans and potatoes in it. My companion had a thickish chicken soup with shredded chicken. I don't remember what they're called on the menu but definitely you should order something else if you go. They have Guy Fieri's name and picture everywhere. I saw that episode and Guy just raved about the flavors and seasoning. Did Inca's get a new chef? I was unimpressed. read more

I really wanted to like this place more and had higher expectations but unfortunately it fell flat. The location is great with plenty of parking. The dining area is clean and the patio is nice. The service was slow for a weekday lunch. We had to wait a while for drinks and our check. Our server wasn't as friendly and I felt bad because she seemed overwhelmed with multiple tables working alone. I ordered two appetizers as my lunch. The papa rellenas were small but had good flavor. I was fortunate enough to find out about this place. I've had the Lomo Saltado, Causa Rellena, ceviche, and the Arroz con Mariscos. All the dishes have been amazing. I'm a novice to Peruvian food, but this food tastes great as for authenticity, I'm unsure. The restaurant is owned by a local Peruvian American woman and her husband, so it's probably going to be authentic. They have been covered on Dinners, Drive-Ins, and Dives. The patio is well shaded and for dinner around 6 PM it was very comfortable even with a 100 deg high for the day. The restaurant is very clean and the service is friendly and quick. If you're east and north definitely give this place a try. read more

What a surprise! We hit another Tucson GEM! We stopped in after a 5 mile hike in Sabino Canyon. I had the Pescado al la Macho - shrimp, octopus in a great sauce over a filet of whitefish. YES! My SO had Lomo Saltado - slices of beef, onions, tomato over crispy potatoes covered with a rich beefy reduction. Ooooooooooooooo....... So glad we stopped! Lidia was our server, she was wonderful! We went there tonight to celebrate my sisters Birthday but quickly decided to leave after being treated very rudely. No where on the website does it say to make a reservation for a large group. We weren't greeted friendly by the older lady in red shirt with pulled back hair. After we told her we needed a table for 11 of us, she started to freak out. Saying "11! Did you make a reservation????" There are different ways on how to say that and obviously she needs to be retrained. It was not busy at all, there may have been two tables of three people that looked like they were done eating. So I don't understand why they couldn't accommodate our table. But never again will we attempt to try this place. We gladly took our service to the business within the plaza. We do not recommend, especially if you have more than two dinning in. They obviously do not know how to treat customers and most likely were not prepared. Bad way to run a business and lost out on regular customers that like to eat. We started with the Papa Rellena.....if you don't get anything else, get this! I had the Arroz Con Mariscos. Shrimp, mussels, and calamari in a seasoned rice. Outstanding! Best shrimp I've ever had. Went with a group of friends and unfortunately they didn't have our reservation but fortunately they found a way to accommodate our group and made up for it with free drinks. We sat on the outside patio which was very pleasant and included live music which was enjoyable. The service, especially given the the number of people and the problem with the reservation, was excellent. One of the group got a pitcher of the chichi morado Peruvian beverage that was quite tasty. The wine selection was very nice and wine was good. For the entree, I had the dish recommended by the waiter and owner, pescado a la macho that had white fish, calamari and shrimp in a nice sauce with a side of white rice. It was quite good. Went to Inca's Peruvian cuisine for a belated birthday celebration, and we certainly enjoyed our time! We were there during Sonoran Restaurant Week, so were able to enjoy a pre-set meal, including a causa rellena, carapulcra, aji de gallina, and a house red wine. Peruvian food has been one of my favorite cuisines since I visited Peru a few years ago, and Inca's lived up to the expectation. I was pleasantly surprised that this restaurant offered single use cutlery and outside dining but I shouldn't have been so worried. Our waitress was very attentive to our needs. My 79 year old dad is Peruvian and he wanted to dine out and have Peruvian food for many months. Today, we finally took the plunge to revisit Inca Cuisine. It was a pleasant visit. There is strictly outside seating only and it was cold out so ordered a hot, green tea. Mom ordered black, hot coffee and my dad ordered the traditional chicha morada which was a little too sweet but tasted great/on point! I ordered the tallarin con pollo. My mom ordered the ceciche mixto and my dad ordered the traditional lomo saltado. Mom didn't like that the fish wasn't fully cooked but this is traditional so no further complaints. She did like the pairing of sweet potatoe and carn (choclo). I liked the tallarin. Very basic dish but delicious spices nonetheless and dad's lomo saltado was authentic and on point. We've visited Peru where we've had authentic Peruvian cuisine so this was the closest AZ offers to Machu Pichu. We'll be back, trust! Oops! Almost forgot one of my favs, papa a la huancaina. The sauce was creamy and tasty but not too spicy like others make it. This is served as an appetizer so I ordered one for our table and one order to go. In addition, since this was special treat, we decided to order a pollo a la brass to go. It was paired with arroz (seasoned rice) y ensalada (salad). Like I mentioned before, we will be returning to this location not because apparently Guy Fieri liked this place but because Tucson doesn't have many Peruvian restaurants.
