Have I finally found the promised land of fish tacos in Tucson? I think so…read more La Palma may be the closest experience in Tucson to the Baja fish tacos I could find throughout Southern California. Their big white food trailer is topped with a large blue tarp that shades a comfortable seating area. The location is kiddy corner from a gleaming white church at the opposite side of the intersection. In a short time, La Palma has become my go-to for fish tacos because the quality is consistent and they know how to dress the tacos with the right combination of flavors. Additionally, they make a mean horchata that compliments the meal perfectly. I'm probably in the wrong crowds because I have not heard other people mention La Palma while praising quite lesser places. I don't get it. All I can say is that for those SoCal folks who are passing through Tucson and are hankering for good fish tacos, pull up to La Palma and be overjoyed. P.S. Food arrived and it was nicely plated, but the star of the show was the Ahi special. Absolutely stellar. Portions were very generous, and there was plenty to take home.
