We took the college kids to India Palace and had a great time and delicious meal. The decorations were visually stimulating and kept us entertained while we waited for our food. Our servers were very friendly and attentive (I don't remember ever having to ask for more water), but did not seem extremely comfortable speaking English. I lived in India for quite a while, so I tend to be picky about Indian food. This is my favorite place to get Indian food in the area. Their food just has those differences to me that make it taste better and hit my pallet in a more pleasant way. It's never too busy, but if it is, I have never had to wait for a table. They are very accommodating. The staff is really great and friendly. They don't really talk at first, but they are more sociable now that we're regulars. Recently we tried their lunch buffet and it was excellent! The selection was great, it didn't taste like t had been under the heat lamps for hours, they kept bringing out fresh food. Food was good, but the service sucked, they never came to check on us to see if the food was fine and when they did, it was to see if we needed a bill, we kindly told them no, but then we were approached shortly afterwards by another man from the staff asking if we needed boxes to go, so we just told them yes because they were so persistent, there was ONE other couple in the whole building and they were so pushy for us to leave. the man came and gave us the box and shortly after the same man who asked us for the bill the first time came back and kept insisting for us to give him the plates of food that we were planning of taking home, i kept telling him that i was going to pack it up so i can take it home and he kept insisting that i give him the plate. Best Indian restaurant in town! The food is ALWAYS good. The owner knew us by name after only coming a few times. Now we are regulars and go in at least once a month. They have a huge menu selection and I am never disappointed. My only complaint is the service can be a bit slow if the restaurant is really busy. The Coconut Korma is hands down one of my all-time favorite dishes. This is one of the ONLY restaurants my husband and I eat out at and we both order the Vegetable Coconut Korma every single down. This restaurant turned us both into Indian food enthusiasts and we are here at least once a month. I'll be honest, though, I can only vouch for the coconut korma because once we found this dish, we've never wanted to try anything else because its so good! I have tried the masala with paneer, though, and that was also delicious. Definitely on par with Bombay House. Just not as well known apparently. I got the Chicken Coconut Korma, the coconut was stronger than I was expecting but it still tasted awesome, I told them to make it hot and they definitely did that, a lot of places disappoint me in that regard. The lunch buffet was disappointing. How hard is it to find vegan food at most Indian restaurants? Very hard, if you choose this lunch buffet. Almost everything had chicken in it except for one dish that featured not-quite-fully-cooked chickpeas. I don't normally eat meat, but I soon realized I'd get very little for my money if I didn't. I still got very little enjoyment because the chicken had a strange rubbery texture and all the sauces tasted exactly alike: bland, slightly greasy, and flavored with the same three spices. The rice had the flavor and consistency of Minute Rice that had sat in a steamer too long. I then sat for 15 minutes waiting for a check. None came. I won't be back. Ever. read more

They should rename as Casa de Pollo -- only chicken dishes for the lunch buffet, and severely bland at that. I asked where the lamb dishes were, and was told lamb is "menu only." This is the best Indian Restaurant in Utah. The food is incredibly delicious, every time we go my husband and I always get different dishes and are amazed that no matter what we get it always tastes amazing. Amazing Indian food, the best I've had even compared across the states and in the Punjab district of London England! I've eaten there countless times because even their lunchtime buffet is soooo tasty. I've spent many birthdays there (mine and friends) and will often call in a to-go order cause the cravings get to me! When trying out any new Indian restraunt I always sip the Mango Lassi first...it's suprizing how often the mango can taste like it has turned. India Palace FAR surpassed my expectations from even just the first Mango lassi sip. They do also have BEER so I normally chow with a TAJ Mahal these days. The Peshwari naan (mildly sweet and savory flat bread) and a Strawberry lassi keeps the kids (and most adults) satied till the entree is ready. Love this place. Great Indian dishes for a great price. It's a few bucks cheaper on average than Bombay House, which is great. Also, LOVE their lunch buffet; all you can eat for just under 10 bucks! I personally prefer Bombay House to India Palace, but I can see by reading other reviews that that sentiment is not universal. However, India Palace is probably a better "value," especially at the lunch buffet. On the other hand, I feel the buffet food is consistently not as good as simply ordering a meal (either there, or at the Bombay House). I guess it's a buffet, so that's too be expected though. India Palace also has a much better location than the Bombay House. Anyway, this restaurant is definitely worth a try. read more
