My visit to India Palace was not bad. Quick seating (dinner time) and quick service. Chicken Shahi Korma was okay, and not spicy enough. I asked the waiter for an 8 on the spicy level and with a straight face he said I wouldn't be able to handle it. Being that it was my first time there, I thought I listen and stay away from some shit that would possibly make cry. Now that I know better, I'd like to give the place another shot. Service was great, but food wasn't outstanding. I had the chicken tikka masala: it was okay. The garlic naan was good, and their combination appetizer was alright. I guess I'm just not a big fan of Indian spices: it definitely takes getting used to. My husband had a dish with curry and definitely wasn't used to the strong spices. He would prefer not to eat Indian food again. He was really disgusted with the men's restroom (hence the low stars). He said the lightswitch and everything was dirty, as if no one had ever stepped in to clean it. Come on, India Palace--get someone to properly clean the place and wipe down the restrooms. My husband and I stumbled upon this little hideaway restaurant. When we walked in we were immediately greeted and given a choice of where we wanted to sit. We were served our drinks. Then we were delighted with very authentic and yummy appetizers. We didn't know what it was but one of the many many staff was so helpful. I ordered the vegetable curry and my husband had a spicier meat curry. We both loved our dishes. The portions were perfect! Not too much, not too little. The rice was cooked to perfection and the bread we also ordered was so good, we wanted to order more, but were too full to. The manager personally came to check on how we liked our meal and asked if we would like coffee or dessert. Next time we will make sure to leave room for that part of this dining adventure! I went to Indian Palace last night with two friends - it was fantastic. We ordered chicken tikka masala, chicken kabob, and a curry with lots of peppers and onions. All o the entrees were delicious. The dal and raita were tasty as well. The service was great. Will definitely be back! read more

I've had Indian food in multiple states, but India Palace is still my favorite. A fair amount of vegetarian and vegan options are listed in their own section on the menu. My meal typically consists of Channa Masala, Samosas, and Puri bread. The traditional Naan bread isn't vegan, but I think Puri might actually be better - because it's fried. This summer I took my grandmother here, she's not much for "ethnic" food but she really liked it too. There's something yummy for everyone. read more

Not great! I'm giving three stars only because the service was excellent, the owner stopped by the table and there were many servers and bus boys. This was the lunch buffet. We were seated in a small unattractive room, not the dining room. The food was very ordinary, soupy, overcooked, seemingly dumbed down for the midwestern palate, full of sugar too. The chicken tandoori was way overcooked and dry. The naan was steamed and gooey. We probably will never be back though perhaps the dinner menu is better. The reviews seem mixed. Great lunch Indian buffet! Lots of selection, including some Indian items I've never tried before. No saag paneer, which is one of my favorites, but they did have its cheeseless cousin. I read the great review on the chicken tikka masala but was badly disappointed. Very little chicken and to creamy for my taste. Waiters were nice but when the fifth person asked me if I wanted a refill of my soda then a bit annoying. But better to ask I guess. I love the food, the service, the owner, the environment, and the food (yes, I had to repeat that!). The lamb curry is unique and tender and yummy. For vegetarians, there are many options - the eggplant dish Bhaigan Bhurta is particularly good. For pescetarians, you will never know anything better than the Fish Masala. If you are in the mood for dessert, mango ice cream or chai tea is nice. The dishes are very shareable - you get rice and the saucy dishes go over that. The food is good, so if that's all you need to have a good restaurant experience, you won't be disappointed. The service, however... it's very apparent that their standard for service isn't particularly high. We had a reservation and still had to wait twenty minutes for a table. The hostess didn't write down anyone's name and was constantly guessing whose table was ready. Once seated, we waited another ten minutes just for someone to give us water and we had to ask for menus. The server got two drink orders wrong and we were halfway through our meal before they were replaced correctly. There was ZERO interaction from any of the servers- they just seemed pissed that they were working, honestly. It was a busier Sunday lunch crowd, but I've been a server for years and there really are very few legitimate excuses for bad service. Lastly, the bathrooms. Hope you don't want any privacy! The stall doors are saloon shudders that you can totally see through, and the doors only come up to chest height, meaning strangers watch you take your pants off while they was their hands and can easily see over the shudders while you're doing your business. The manager noticed and came and asked her if she liked it then asked what things she liked, he went back to the kitchen and had them make her a specific dish, she loved it. Wonderful staff and food. We bought the sampler for the appetizer, curry chicken, chicken tikka masala and naan. The app was mainly fried vegetarian items, aside from a fried chicken sample, which was my favorite. The curry chicken was good, and the tikka Masala was to die ffor delicious! We also purchased hot chai teas(prob better cold) and the mango lasse(spelling?) drinks. The mango drink was awesome. And finally we took our deserts home. Not many Indian/ethnic places to eat in Tulsa that are of decent quality but India Palace is a really solid choice. Nice ambience and everything seemed pretty clean. Servers were attentive without being annoying. Food was really pretty good. I had the lamb rogan josh which was great, my only complaint would be that I asked for it spicy and it really didn't have much heat to it. My wife and kids all had chicken tikka masala and lived it. We had garlic naan and samosas which were just fine. Really solid choice, not the greatest food that will knock your socks off but really good for Tulsa and a nice option. Good Indian food is hard to find around Tulsa, but if you want the real deal, check this place out. I've been several times and it is always the same - authentic and delicious. The staff is great and very informative; they'll answer any questions you have and will give you recommendations based on your likes and dislikes. The atmosphere is wonderful as well - very warm and inviting. Every menu item I've tried has been excellent, but you can't go wrong with the saag paneer with garlic naan. FOOD: Delicious Indian food! And this is after having Indian food in Little India in NYC and India itself. The chicken tikki masala is a classic savory dish and more buttery than I'm used to. The chicken vindaloo is flavorful and spicy (you've been warned). I would recommend the mango lassi, a rich smoothie like drink, but not the chai, Indian spiced tea, because it's watery. SERVICE: Great service. Attentive waiters who noticed the chicken vindaloo was too spicy for my taste and gave me a mild chicken vindaloo on the house :) PRICE: Awesome value.
