I have been going to Deeya Indian Cuisine for many years now, all the way back to when they were at Tri City Plaza. I just got back today (Friday, 8/11/17) from their lunch buffet. My buddy and I go there every week to get away from work. Their food is always plentiful and delicious. Today, they had a new dish on the buffet called Chicken Afgani. It was absolutely excellent! Their lunch buffet is extensive, with all of the favorites: Tandoori Chicken, Butter Chicken, Chicken Korma, Biryani Rice, Saag Paneer, Daal, Aloo Ghobi, Bartha (Eggplant), Naan, Raitha, Mint Chutney, Pakoras, and on and on. We were here on vacation for Christmas break and food was ok. But poor customer service.

I visited for the lunch buffet since my friend and I needed a quick lunch so she could get back to work. The lunch buffet options were what I would expect. The day I visited, the buffet offered pakora, a lovely dal, a veggie Korma, and butter chicken. The curries were good - complex, flavorful - but not the best I've ever had. The naan was excellent and nice and warm. Overall, not a bad option for lunch though I agree with others that noted the prices are a wee bit high for the quality and selection of food offered. Not a bad option, but not somewhere I'd make a special effort to come visit (and it would need to be an effort as I live in Citrus Park). read more

Grand Opening!?? We came for a lunch buffet around 1 pm. All of the food trays were half empty or completely empty.. No white rice or naan. Had to ask and wait for it around 10 min. And you have to pay 15 dollars per person with drinks. Pure disappointment... read more

I did a take-out order with the Saag Paneer. The portion was generous but still pricey for a vegetarian dish @ $13.50. I also ordered a tandoori roti which was big but again slightly pricey at $2.50. This place is in a strip center and doesn't look like much from the outside. The inside looks simple but clean and a warm atmosphere. The food was tasty warm and fresh. There were many pieces in the saag. The dish also came with a good size helping of rice, but the hunger in me are the roti also. The location is convenient close to the mall and near many hotels. This place is closed on Mondays. I would go back again and try more dishes and also for lunch. read more

Wow. Incredible. We were a group of five and we were hungring (hungry and laughing). With a diverse group of friends you have to be wise about where you eat, especially with a #pickyeater in the group. We all ordered our dishes in varying spice levels ranging from mild to white ppl medium (2-4 on the Rickter Scale). Of course we had to get the garlic naan as well, which tasted just as good as it smelled (good enough to start a fight between long-time friends). The man at the counter was so kind as to also give us papadum on the house (so sweet!!!). Be careful if you're not a spice person though because one of our members face got as red as the perfectly spiced chana masala!We got the food to-go as well and it was still a perfect temp when we got home. There was something for everyone (1 vegan, 1 pescatarian, 3 omnivores)! We can't wait to go back!! Be sure to grab one or two (or five) of their "free delivery" cards when you go in person cause you're gonna want it a second time! read more

I am a chef quite well known in the field of cookery. I work internationally and travel from city to city. I come home to my hometown of Clearwater regularly. I am so thrilled when I return home to have Indian food here and bring my family. The food and service is exceptional. No request is too much. Where the restaurant lacks in decor, it truly makes up for it in flavor and service. I understand the restaurant has recently changed hands. Today's lunch experience was bad, Starting with the cool water - no ice and self-serve. No staples like saag paneer or rice pudding (in fact, no dessert at all). Perhaps they are assuming Americans prefer bland food and this - for Indian food, was the blandest I have ever had. Service was non-existent. Tandori chicken was quite dry and somewhat scorched. We were close, so we didn't go to our regular place (Taste of Punjab). What a mistake. It won't happen again. I joked going in that the over-used word "Bistro" added $ to the price. The cashier was engaged in conversation - making us wait to pay! So for a dry, bland lunch with tepid water and cold naan, we had the privilege of paying $33. I understand the need to cut expenses, but eliminating a waitstaff is not the way to do it. Perhaps, the owners should either take an interest or consider some other business. I have used YELP for years and this place finally made me angry enough to write my first review. For Indian food lovers, you might consider Houston as a food destination - the competition there keeps the quality high. the array of food impressive and the prices reasonable. Buffet was nearly empty and never refilled while I was there. Paneer dishes didn't have any Paneer. I paid by credit card and they added a 3.5 percent fee. It took 10 minutes for the waitress to come back with the bill after I gave her the credit card. I can't recommend this place. read more

We got take out tonight......amazing Butter Chicken! Highly recommend it. Very tender chicken, creamy red sauce and perfectly spiced. They need to make the rice bowl that accompanies the entree a little more full. We still had Butter Chicken left, but no rice to put it over. We will definitely try this place again. read more

My work team members and myself decided to try Deeya for our Friday lunch outing. We were very impressed with their buffet. The food was tasty and fresh. The chicken was moist and fell off the bone. I also order a mango lassi, which was so good! I will say that I was surprised by the price. For just myself getting a lunch buffet ($11.99) and my mango lassi ($3.50) and tax & tip, it came close to $20. Still, the food was good and we all agreed we would go back. read more

The food is bland and the waiters took forever(1hr exactly to get starters) to get the food and they were not respectful or apologetic either. They didn't even ask for water. It is a cute place and the server has been helpful in ordering. Be very careful. If you ask for anything it will be charged! You will not be told but then you will have a high bill at the end. I recently tried out Deeya with my boyfriend who'd never had Indian before. We shared an order of paneer masala, ate til we were full, and still had a bit to take home! The naan appetizer with spice tray was delicious and definitely prepared us for our spicy entree. Our waiter was sweet as could be and helped us navigate through the menu. Had a chicken jalfrezi, it tasted like it used a canned tomato soup as a base, not good. The naan was fine though, and the service. I am all for using a stock sauce for curries, but it should be an onion based sauce, it is sweeter, and has less of that commercial flavour. read more

The food here is so good!! We've been looking for a good Indian place in Clearwater, and this is it (ironically across the street for our amazing Thai place, Pattaya Thai, haha). The tikka masala was tender and unctuous, so perfect with the jasmine rice. It's quiet and intimate. The servers are very attentive, though when we were there it was a bit slow so whenever I happened to look over at them they came over. Very polite when we said we didn't need anything though.
