It had been awhile since my friends and I had Indian food- we stumbled upon this spot when looking for a casual spot to meet up for dinner. We went at 5:30, right when they opened on a Sunday and no one was there so it felt like we had the place to ourselves. The servers were very kind and the menu straight to the point! We got our favorite, samosas, garlic naan, chicken tikka masala with a side of white rice! The samosas were flavorful and not too heavy- I loved the ratio of filling in them! Came by for lunch the other day and it was a mediocre experience. Parking was plentiful in the private strip mall. The restaurant was air cooled which made the dining experience quite a warm one... Staff was available to present our table, bring us menus, and bring out food. Staff also wore masks. Started off with the samosas and it was mediocre at best. The shell was rather dry and there were minimal potatoes inside... The chicken Tikka masala and butter chicken were similar. The curries were on the bland side and I've had fresher chicken. Portions were decent. The garlic naan was also mediocre, it was freshly made, although it was still on the harder side... Wanted to get out of the house and find something different to get into this evening so I headed out to Sunnyvale to do a bit of grocery shopping and was getting pretty hungry. I noticed that a few people were starting to sit down and after a bit of looking at the reviews here on Yelp I decided to go ahead and try it. Location: This is located off of El Camino and there was plenty of parking available since it has other establishments in the same plaza along with an Asian supermarket. I haven't had Indian food in a while and usually I go for the more traditional stuff like butter chicken or some type of masala along with naan but I wanted to see what else was offered. After all I love trying new things! The inside is nice and welcoming with a few decorations and pictures up and I did notice a tv on one side of the room playing Bollywood shows. The servers were very nice and helpful and the food came out pretty fast as well Now for the food: I decided to get the Andra Mutton Masala, some garlic roti with a side of rice and my favorite Mango Lassi! All were very good and hit the spot! The Andra Mutton is a goat dish and they had three different dishes that were Mutton so when I asked the server which one he recommended he pointed to the Andra and told me that it's a Medium spicy which I thought was a good amount of heat and spice which made it really good. The meat itself was tender and I enjoyed eating it with the garlic roti that I got. I'm not a big fan of rice in general.. I know you're thinking what Asian doesn't eat rice?! But I'm one of them lol.. I'm glad that I did get the side of rice since it really helped soak up some of the curry and just the rice itself was really good! The garlic roti was a great choice and additional to my meal since it had a good amount of garlic and butter on it and was crispy thin as well. I wish I was able to finish all of my food but I get full pretty quickly so I didn't mind having to take the rest home with me. Mango Lassi didn't disappoint either.. there was a good amount that was filled in a cute glass and tasted just right! Can't go wrong with Mango Lassi! There were so many other things on the menu like Dosa, Biryani's and other drinks that looked good. When more people stated coming in I noticed they had ordered some good stuff that came out with huge rolls of roti or bread along with several sauces. My current favorite for the Indian food fix. They're known for their biriyani and I think that's due to the mastery of cooking basmati rice. Never dry or hard and consistently plump to soak up the accompanying gravy. Fish 65 is why I love this place. Tender pieces of fish fillet that absorb their rendition of 65 sauce. Word of caution...the dish can range from pleasantly spicy to sweating bullets spicy. My guess for this would be the natural variance in chilis or heavy handed cooks. In either case, it's the dish that leaves a lasting memory in my circle of friends. They hold dosa night on Thursdays, iirc. Additionally, they offer a very good lunch special that includes their biriyani, starter, curry and naan. Great new Indian place in the South Bay. We are regulars here and have ordered a variety of their dishes several times over the last few months. We're tried the dosas, curries(butter chicken, chicken tikka masala), indo-chinese(fried rice, noodles), chicken 65, schezwan chicken, vijaywada chicken biriyani to name a few. Onion pakora was alright. Again, good portions but it could have used more seas in batter or on top. Was a bit bland. I ordered paneer tikka masala and naan but that was average. Ordered our meal online and were quoted half hour wait for the food to be ready. A bit out of the way for us but wanted to try them based on the Yelp reviews. We ordered the Kadai Chicken, chicken tikka masala, garlic naan and chicken fried rice. The meal was very tasty, loved the chicken fried rice, the curries were perfect. I just wish we had thought about ordering an order of basmati rice as well. This is a great place for take out and we probably would order more often if we lived closer to them. Parking is easy to find since they are in a plaza. We were seated right away. We ordered Butter Chicken, Garlic Naan, Biriyani, and a Mango Lassi. The Butter Chicken was classic and delicious. I do wish the portion was bigger but it was still enough to feed 2 people. The Garlic Naan was pretty good and I definitely want to try their Chili naan next. The Biriyani portion was huge! It was very good and flavorful. I definitely recommend getting the mango lassi! I have tried a lot of Mango Lassis before and this is one of my favorites! The restaurant has plenty of tables. They also have a few decorations around the place. The waiters are friendly and nice and were ready to help us whenever we needed them. I also liked their veg biryani because it wasn't pulao. You can see it has dum because of the quality of potatoes, it also has paneer in it. This place was definitely a sleeper. A small and unassuming Indian food joint in a strip mall that is dominated by the Korean grocery store in the same complex. It's in the building next door but it's basically the same general strip mall because they share a parking lot and driveway. It was a flavor bomb and the naan was so tender you could wipe your mouth with it. We started with the Samosas. Fresh, crispy, lovely spices in these pillows of potato and peas. Then on to the three mains with bread. I'm a fan of goat, sheep, etc ... so I went for the mutton. It wasn't gamey at all and perfectly cooked. Then we decided to go with a standard, Butter chicken. It was super creamy and rich but not overcooked like some places can be. To round it all off we went with the eggplant cooked with coconut and sesame seed paste. WOW, this was definitely a surprise favorite. It is slightly smokey and the tiny eggplant were sliced down the center but left attached on one side. They were perfectly cooked so they weren't mushy or falling apart. We ordered the spicy chili naan and butter naan. The spice really creeps up on you so if you don't like spicy just go with the other naan breads available. There's plenty. Oh, and the mains were not super spicy at all so go for it and explore the menu. We ordered Mango Lassi and also finish the meal off with Chai Masala. The waiter didn't like the freshness of the tea in the decanter so he asked the kitchen to make a fresh batch. It was absolutely divine. I don't think I've ever had a chai this good. The notes of spice and ginger were so floral and fresh you definitely want to end your meal with this cup of creamy madness. The only reason this place didn't get 5 stars is the water they served, in a metal pitcher, tasted moldy. It could be they needed to change their water filter. Don't fret, just have the other drink offerings or bring your own bottle of water. It's totally worth it. read more
