What a great Indian restaurant, great staff and amazing food! I can list a few things that are great here, hands down my favorite is Malai Kofta. Its vegetarian which in my mind takes more knowledge and execution of proper cooking techniques. Amazing, authentic Indian! Huge fan of Indian food & it's sometimes hard to discover spots that feel legit. This is one of them! While I've never paid that much for a buffet before, the options really ran the gamut- veggie, meat, and full cream options for everyone. I really liked the tikka masala and the korma, While it wasn't extremely spiced or very flavorful, this would please anyone's palate and give you some flavors you will appreciate. Remodeled and ready! The Biryanis are just stunning. The Saag Paneer, while probably the least photogenic of any food, is just delicious. Let me first start by saying the staff provided excellent service. They were prepared to offer recommendations and were swift to attend to our needs throughout the meal. The food was quite good. We were a large group so we had an opportunity to sample a variety of selections. Of course, we started the meal with Naan and Garlic Naan. Yum. I really enjoyed this place! What a great surprise after eating at the same exact places in Rehoboth for far too long. It was almost a 5 star for me and I am quite picky about Indian places (still haven't found the perfect place in DC). I called ahead to see about their gluten free options because they weren't listed online. I was ensured that all their entries were gluten free (and I had no problems when I went!). I got the butter chicken curry. I did ask for very mild (and it was) but I think they might have made our entire table's orders mild (so just be very specific if you ask this). It was a treat to try mango lassi (so smooth, creamy, and subtly sweet), navratan korma (a vegetable dish that feels light as air and flowery), and an appetizer combo of samosas and veggie "fritters." Let me begin by saying the staff here is beyond phenomenal. They were welcoming, kind, and extremely attentive. Unfortunately, they were the best part of the experience. We ordered Chicken Tikka Masala, Chicken Biryani, and a yogurt lamb dish recommended to us by our waiter. The lamb dish strangely had no flavor. . . Like none. The Masala was fine but again not at all spiced well and a little tough. And the most liked dish was the Chicken Biryani, though still not super delicious. I'm spoiled by having lived in NYC for so long, so maybe for someone that has not had that pleasure this place would be great. This is by far my favorite Indian restaurant anywhere, though I've never ventured to India! Located less than one block from the boardwalk, it is ideally located, particularly this time of year when Rehoboth Beach no longer charges for parking. The food is delicious. And the prices reasonable. Note that the bathrooms are immaculate, which leads to me believe that excellent hygiene also exists in the kitchen. On our recent visit to RB we decided to try out Indigo, the new Indian restaurant on Rehoboth Ave. We made reservations earlier in the day and were thankful we did because the restaurant was very full that evening, which is a good sign, especially in the off season. The décor is calming and has a sense of elegance from the white table clothes, beautiful lighting sconces, and the relaxing art work/colors on the walls. Even though the décor and atmosphere gave off the vibe of a pricey exclusive place, everyone is welcomed regardless of attire (jeans,etc) and the prices are mid-range. Our meal started with complementary "crackers" and three relishes. We sampled the Samosas as an appetizer, which were cooked perfectly on the outside, with the filling appropriately spiced and delicious. They have a variety of wines to choose from (the pours were very generous) and several beer selections. On this visit, we shared the Aloo Gobi and the Chicken Korma. Both dishes came with rice and a side of Chana masala. The Aloo Gobi was cooked perfectly and had a nice balance of spice/flavors. The chicken korma was not over sauced, flavorful, and melted in my mouth. Of course, we had an order of naan bread to accompany our meal. In addition to the great food, the service was spectacular! My water glass was never empty the entire visit and the servers checked on us regularly to ensure our visit was going well. They conveyed the sense that they were very thankful we chose to dine there and took pride in making our visit positive. While I never considered Indian food "beach eats", the quality of the food and service has me now including Indigo into our rotation of restaurants when visiting RB. read more

It is a sublime and surreal experience eating in a good restaurant during a pandemic. Many have braved the great indoors with abandon, but we have been somewhat hesitant to engage in that pre-pandemic full blown dining experience. And so it was a special occasion to find ourselves seated across from new friends in a new restaurant this week to remove our masks and forgo incessant hand-washing or sanitizing, to enjoy the pleasures of Indigo. Granted we chose a night and a part of the season where Rehoboth Beach at night is void of crowds and parking is a breeze, still it felt utterly beguiling to be out and entering a restaurant; I was so happy and gobsmacked I nearly hugged the nattily dressed host, instead we vigorously shook hands and I said thank you for being open, to which he replied, "Welcome back." It was a moment of bliss. Indigo: Indian Cuisine Rehoboth sits about half a block from the ocean boardwalk, near the Penny Lane arcade of shops. The facade is unassuming, but once inside the warmth of its lighting and colors really draws you in assisted by the staff who are very welcoming and gracious. And all have keen senses of humor. There were four of us -- our friends had not only had been to the restaurant before, but one had grown up eating the very cuisine featured on the menu, which offers plenty of vegan and vegetarian options for my fellow food conscious folk out there. Being the dork that I am, I had printed off the Indigo menu and had highlighted in yellow the dishes I and my wife had chosen earlier -- vegetable pakora (veggie fritters); Tandoori Chooza (wife's chosen chicken dish); Aloo Goghi Masala (cauliflower and potatoes in onion, tomatoes and spices mix for moi), and Naan, "just keep the naan coming" we said). Naan is tear-shaped pieces of light bread, and it's the stuff of dreams my friends. All entrees come with Basmali rice and vegetables of the day. Oh and Spicey Pickles for me, because I love spice (folks this is spice with a capital H and is not for amateurs so tread lightly when it comes to the pickles). I had a mango drink to start called Lassi, which was akin to a milk shake or yogurt drink and it was dee-lush-ees! My assessment is that I'd eaten some of the best Indian food of my life; my wife wasn't crazy about the chicken dish, and the fritter was a little too dry for her palate. So, take from this what you will. Great waitstaff; very clean and aesthetically pleasing environment. We did have dessert, but I've forgotten the name of it but it was small breaded spheres soaked in a beautiful syrup. "Welcome back." Yes, sir, yes indeed, and thank you. read more

My sister was in town last week and she was craving Indian food. I recommended Indigo because I remember how good their food was when I dined there a couple of years ago. We split samosa, garlic naan, raita (cucumber and yogurt mixture) and the butter chicken for our entree. My sister also had the dal shorba (a lentil soup). The portions were very generous and the food was delicious. We received a big bowl of the raita and my sister was surprised the the soup was served hot in a bowl instead of a cup since the Indian restaurants that she has been to serve their soup in a cup. When the entree came out the waiter served us two plates with the sides on each plate since we were sharing. The atmosphere was relaxing and the service was good as well. I've been craving really good ethnic food since we moved here full time in January. We've basically have had to drive to Philly, nyc or dc to get decent Chinese, Indian or Japanese food. Decided to give indigo a try. Had muted expectations given it was a block off the boardwalk. I have to say the food is really really good and authentic. We ordered the lamb saag, yellow lentil, chicken jalfraezi and lamb tika masala. All of the dishes were awesome. The service was also very good in there. Friendly and accommodating. My family went back for a second summer in a row to celebrate my sister's birthday. Yet again, Indigo went above and beyond. There are a mix of vegans and meat eaters in our group of 8, and all came away happy. They made it seem like our large party was a breeze and the recommendations were flawless. My first visit with my family in 2021 spurred a love of Indian food for me and I have tried many places in Maryland since then, but I can attest Indigo is my favorite!
