Tasted like old boiled chicken on top of lettuce and onions - zero flavor and definitely not larb. I struggled with this so badly that I had a bite and put the whole thing in the trash. 0/10 Same with the drunken noodles... The photos look so good online but they were overcooked, bland & looked like the veggies were cooked from frozen packets. 0/10 The wonton soup water chicken water (not broth), the wontons were ready to dissolve before I could eat them, and this dish also lacked any flavor at All. If I could give this less than zero I would. -2/10 Even my husband who will eat anything hated the mango sticky rice which is so easy to get right at a Thai place. 1/10 since he ate it and not me This place was a big strike out. Took a chance and struck out. As others have said the food just isn't good. I ordered the Pad See Ew with chicken but what I got was some thin rice noodles with generic chinese steamed vegetables (possibly frozen) in a bland salty-sessame oil "sauce", definitely not pad see ew sauce. Of course I've had many variations on pad see ew and other thai dishes but none that just lack all flavor. It's Saturday afternoon, cloudy outside cold, inside 2 tables are sat. Not busy. Looks clean, but some floorboards are in need of replacement (slightly curling edges). Bathroom was very clean. I ordered appetizer chicken satay (4 pieces ) with the most wonderful peanut sauce. Also ordered Thai fried rice with chicken. It was very good. The restaurant had a strong smell of cleaning products upon entering, which was a bit off-putting. While the space itself is very cute, the interior decor isn't particularly inviting--but that's not the most important factor. Service was a highlight; the staff was attentive and accommodating, even with our large group. We were also able to split checks by party, which was convenient. As for the food, I ordered the Panang Curry, and my mom had the drunken noodles with tofu. I also got a Thai tea, which was disappointing--it was packed with ice and ended up tasting watered down. The Panang Curry had great flavor but was much thinner in consistency than expected, more like a soup than a true curry. The drunken noodles, unfortunately, were overcooked, mushy, and overly salty. Visiting from out of town, decided to door dash some food. Ordered chicken pad Thai with level 3 (out of 5 aka medium) spice, glass noodle salad with chicken, and Thai iced tea bubble tea. Pad Thai was SO disappointing - does not taste like pad Thai at all! Tastes some sort of tomato noodle dish that's way off base. And level 3 spicy is MILD. Glass noodle salad with chicken is OK, not bad, WAY better than the pad Thai. Bubble tea is decent, this is subjective because I prefer my boba to be less sweet. The tapioca pearls were on the softer chewy texture which is acceptable for me. All in all, disappointing. Would not order again. read more

I ate here several years ago after they had just opened and the food was authentic Thai and delicious. Fast forward to today and was very disappointed. I ordered Pad See Ew and when it was served with narrow noodles and a watery light brown sauce, not the sweeter, darker brown sauce and broad noodle that I've come to savor over 20+ years on the east coast and in the Los Angeles area - I sent it back and asked for what I thought would be a "standard" that couldn't be messed up, Pad Thai. Wrong! Yes, the noodle was correct but served with the exact same watery light brown sauce, not the dryer, slightly stickier sauce that adheres to the noodles. Conclusion, Bangkok Thai has become one of those restaurants that calls the food Thai, but it's clearly now serving flavors and textures more reminiscent of Chinese restaurants that label their dishes Thai. I was so looking forward to eating here, given my fond memories from the first time I ate here. When I asked to speak with the manager, I was told that the manager was busy cooking. In a strip mall near 5 Points, the former coffee shop chairs and parts of the decor live on! Modest place with a busy take out business. However, for the dine in customer, the tray of fragrant and spicy sauces can play with you meal. The garden rolls are served with a sweet sauce, cool crispy veggies and shrimp. I like the green curry and if you like it hot, they offer Thai spice! No beer on draft, but a decent assortment including a few Thai beers. Super nice people. read more

Every time we go here we remember how good the food is. Ingredients are always fresh, well-prepared and plentiful. I particularly like the Ginger Duck; it's crisp and delicious. Other entrees are well-spiced, without going overboard (although you could probably ask for a Thai-Hot variety). The service and servers are quick and pleasant. They keep a responsive eye on your table, but don't hover obsequiously. The appearance of the restaurant is intentionally spare, almost stark. When the place is full, it can get a little loud, but not objectionable. They do take-out, and have parking off the highway. Dinner for 2 ran about $45 with beverages, plus tip. They do offers lots of options for portion size, protein and price. I honestly don't know why we don't go there more often. read more

If you're expecting a full size meal on takeout, do not do it! Terrible small portions even when you pay extra for extra vegetables. When I called them they were disrespectful and dismissive. We've been going here for a year and a half and they said they never fill up their bins with coconut milk and that is not true. They are liars! Their portions are ridiculously small in takeout and especially compared to if you go there in person as you will see they have more than enough portions for an extra meal when you dine in for the same price. They have raised their prices and cut their portions for take out by half. Look elsewhere for Thai food as you will be disappointed here! Called and ordered Drunken undo with beef ( with an up charge for beef). The portion was small but it's typical for Thai food, the dish was tasty and full of flavor. Consider this a PSA to anyone searching for GOOD Thai food in Coastal Delaware. Our takeout order yesterday was possibly the worst Thai food we've ever experienced. We started our order with the Fresh Roll (3/$8.95). Typically fresh roll features a rice paper wrapper rolled and filled with steamed shrimp, rice vermicelli, herbs like basil or mint, julienne vegetables and even cooked rice, with peanut or fish sauce. Their version was a shrimp sliced in half, layered on a sprinkle of rice vermicelli, no herbs and a whole lot of chopped lettuce. Woefully lacking in flavor and grossly overpriced. Our order of beef salad ($10.95) was a soup bowl sized portion of chopped greens topped with tough slices of beef. The dressing was tangy but the quality of the beef had the mouth feel of jerky. Our mixed vegetable stir fry with tofu ($13.95) was watery with small chunks of tofu mixed in. Sadly, even the ubiquitous chicken pad thai ($13.95) was lacking in both flavor and an appreciable presence of chicken. The garlic duck ($19.95) appeared as small chunks of duck-like meat, wrapped in a thick gummy breading. To say that we were disappointed with our dinner would be an understatement. We were thoroughly disappointed in the food. We love Thai food and get it often. Several dishes we ordered, like the peanut sauce for example was not very flavorful. Quite unusual. A major issue was the minimal amount of protein, chicken for three of the four entrees, and salmon in one. The portions provided overall were seemingly lunch sized portions and not dinner.
