My mom's in cabin heater has been broken for over a year. She kinda decided not to deal with it until it got cold again. Since October rolled around, she wanted to get it fixed. She went to ask another repair shop for an estimate, they said it would have be $1,200+ = $1,000 for parts and $200+ for services. What a rip off! My mom's friend recommended this auto repair place to her. JT was super nice and he gave her a quote of $80!!! He said the cost of the parts would be $60 and the service was $20. She ended up giving him a flat $100, but that is over 90% less than what the other place quoted! Not only that, but she left it there overnight and was able to pick it up the next day. JT did an amazing job. My mom loves her heater now and raves about it to all her friends. Great service done, great customer service, great price. Our family is dedicated to go to him now. I was extremely nervous about taking my car to a new mechanic because my family has only taken our cars to one guy over the past several years. But he's in Hacienda Heights, and I'm not, so it's a little inconvenient. I searched Yelp, and based on the positive reviews, I decided to go with Indo Auto Repair. I was definitely not disappointed. First off, I had taken my car to another mechanic, and he told me my radiator needed to be replaced and was going to charge me $180 for the radiator, $120 for labor and $25 for coolant in order to do so. My brother said this was an outrageous price!! When I took my car to Indo Auto Repair, he quoted me $95 for the radiator, $50 for labor and $10 for coolant. I couldn't leave my car on the day I took it to be checked, but before I left, the owner noticed that the notch for the bar that holds the hood up was broken. For no charge, he drilled a hole and put a leather string on it to hold the bar. I took my car in, and the radiator was replaced in a few hours. I told the owner that I would walk home and back to pick up my car, and he offered to drive me home and pick me up! It wasn't necessary since I only live about 15 minutes away walking, but the fact that he offered shows you the quality customer service he gives! When I returned, he told me that he had to get my radiator from the warehouse of another repair shop, and that the guy at the other repair shop told him to charge me $50 more than the radiator was worth so he (the guy from the other shop) could get a cut! The owner told him no and charged me what he quoted me. Before I left, he told me that if anything went wrong, to bring it back and he would fix it. This mechanic is honest, reliable and reasonable. I will be taking my car to him from now on and recommend him to anyone in the area looking for a mechanic. read more

Honest, excellent, fair and below typical costs. What more can you ask for in an auto mechanic?! Needing to get my vehicle serviced before a trip and being relatively new to the area, I checked Yelp for auto repair shops. The reviews for Indo Auto Repair and the owner, J. T., were consistent. I decided to start with an oil change first. J. T.'s price was less than half what we have paid in the past! Remembering a comment someone made wishing they had taken their car to J. T. first, I took it back to have him check it from top to bottom. He gave a thorough assessment, and only recommended one thing, a wheel alignment, which he did not do. However, he referred me to a shop right in the auto repair strip mall where he is. They also did a good job for a fair price. J. T. wrote everything down that he checked with his evaluation of each item. We left for our trip with confidence that our van would perform properly. Know that this is not a fancy shop with an air conditioned waiting room. I sat in a low old style lawn chair under the tree with ants crawling on the ground. It is summer so it was hot. That's okay! I will be bringing my van back to J. T., and have told others about him. Just today a friend asked me for his address & number. I'm glad to have found him! read more

I'm disappointed that I'm just now finding Indio now after living here for 5 years. J.T. is the man. He is easy to talk to, reliable, and will NEVER cheat you. I mean never. If anything he's probably going to under charge you. Also this guy works hard, most nights he's open until 1 (that being said, a lot of times he doesn't open until 9:30. He's the best around. The only mechanic I trust. You can buy your own parts and he will charge you only for labor. I assure you no other mechanic can come close to what he charges. He prefers to work on Toyotas and Hondas, but can work on any make really. I give him the jobs I can't do on my own. The owner is a very honest man. I initially went to another supposedly trustworthy carshop (techline auto in Arcadia), and they told me my timing belt is out and therefore going to cost me $450. Called my boyfriend, and he told me to check with Indo Auto Repair. Went there and he said after checking everything, my timing belt still has years ahead of it, and the only thing that's out were my waterpump belt. In and out of there in an hour, and only cost me $30. Service was great and quick. My boyfriend told me the place won't up-sell me on anything, and won't tell me to change anything I don't need. Opens till 10PM every night (Saturday and Sunday too). I live on the west side (near UCLA) but I'll go there every time I have car issue even though it'll take 1+ hr to get there (and I'm a hate-driving kinda person). Wow. I read the reviews here and decided to try Indo out as I was looking for an honest, reasonable new mechanic to replace the criminals I used to take my car to and the reviews are spot on. I was expecting to pay hundreds to fix my car and ended up paying only $35! Indo diagnosed and fixed my problem within an hour. JT also told me several times if I had any problems, come back and he'll refund my money. The owner is super nice and again very honest. I won't take my car anywhere else from now on. I have an old 1993 Ford Taurus that recently had some engine trouble. I am new to the area so I looked on Yelp and I saw that Indo Auto Repair was highly recommended. I called up around 8:30pm to see what the hours are thinking that no one would be there but JT answered the phone. After talking about my situation, he told me to bring it by tomorrow after work 6:30pm) and he would check it out. I was a little nervous because there was white smoke coming from my engine so I assumed it was going to be a major issue. After JT looked at it, he figured out one of my hoses was torn, replaced the part, and called me back within an hour to come pick up my car. When I asked him how much, he only charged me $16. He has a bit of an accent so I thought maybe I heard him wrong. Sure enough, when I went to pick up the car, he only charged me for the parts that he bought from Auto Zone and said that the labor was free. I was shocked because I've never heard of anyone doing something like this. I even tried to give him an even $20 to be nice but he wouldn't even take it saying that he barely did any work. I couldn't be more happy this guy. I would definitely recommend him to anybody and will continue to use him for any future problems. read more

JT is honest, reliable and affordable. I went to Indo to get a wheel bearing that I bought installed on my Civic and JT turned it around quick. I thought I had saved money by buying the part myself, but then I took my brother's car in to do the same thing and JT got the parts and it turned out to be way less than the cost of the bearing I bought and the labor. So don't buy your own parts, just go to JT and he'll get you the parts cheap and do the work. I do whatever I can do on my car myself, but if I need a mechanic, I'm going to go to Indo. Never dealt with a better mechanic. (updated 2/11/14)...went there again today to get some stuff fixed to smog my car, there were several things I figured I'd have to get fixed, but not all are necessary for the smog, any other mechanic would have taken full advantage since I was the one suggesting all the fixes, not JT, he told me what I needed fixed and told me to hold off on other things since they were not necessary...what a great guy... read more

this place might not look convincing! but yeah, give it a try and WOW! this place is amazing, they will try their best not to make you spend ANY money or at least spend the least! the owner is jetty, and he is a VEEERRRRYY HONEST PERSON! he will help you anything and he will tell you to the very detail what is the problem of your car. This place is great! It's a little hard to find cause the shop is literally just a small garage. The mechcanic is a super nice and honest. If you need any help with your vehical, he'll try to help. About 3 months ago I needed a bracket replaced on my right front inner tire skirt, cause it flew off when my tire flew last year, but it was rubbing on my tire when I turned the wheel all the way to the left, so he took off my tire and found a bracket and put it on for free. He said it was an easy job so its no charge.Also my car was leacking oil so he jacked up my car and took a look under the engin and said my oil filter gasket probably needed to be replaced. He then looked in his tool box for a gasket and said when I needed my oil changed to give them the gasket (he then gave me for free) and that should stop the leaking, and if it still leaked to come back to see if its somewhere else. when i got my oil changed i gave the guy the gasket and since then it hasn't leaked. Soit was the gasket. but before i left Indo I insisted on paying something but he declined the offer caus he said they were easy jobs. If EVER I have a problem with my car im taking it back to him, giving him money and walking away smiling. read more

JT is really genuine, super honest and his prices are so reasonable. When I had trouble starting my car at 10PM in a parking lot on Saturday, I looked up auto repair shops on Yelp and saw that this place had 5 stars but all really great reviews. I was still skeptical but called the shop at 10PM that night hoping to hear the store hours but JT actually picked up. He told me that he would be willing to open his shop for me tomorrow (sunday) at 9:30AM. That morning I was able to start my car and drive to Auto Zone to get my battery changed - just in case that was the problem. However, my car was still having problems. I drove over to Indo Auto repair and right when I pulled into the parking lot my car died and wouldn't start again. JT came out and took a look at the car and tested my battery and my spark plug. The battery was obviously fine, but my spark plug turned out to be the problem. He said he would have to order a spark plug for me, but told me it would be easier and cheaper if I went back and purchase one from Auto Zone. He worked his magic and restarted my car and told me not to turn off the engine. I went back to auto zone, bought a spark plug, and brought it back. JT changed out my spark plug in 20 mins and my car started working again! JT is really sincere - he even wrote down my receipt number from Auto zone onto the Spark plug so if anything happened, I would also be able to get my lifetime warranty from Auto Zone. I have never met a kinder, more skilled, and more reasonably priced mechanic in my life. I had to get my car towed and it was late at night. I called all the mechanics in the area who had good reviews, but none of them were open. Finally I called here and this sweet old man named JT answers and he says bring my car no problem. He spent all day trying to figure out what the problem was, and finally discovered that the spark plugs I had got put in were really cheap and have busted.
