Paella Prepared by Chefs Cafe... Yes, I said "Paella" ...when they have this on their Menu for the week. It's a no brainer, I'm ordering it

Chef Felix, Erica and the Entire Family that runs this Hidden Gem in North Torrey Pines knows they're doing in the Kitchen for sure! The menu is great with daily Breakfast and Lunch specials that appeal to all with different taste pallets. Don't forget the desserts that are made fresh by Chefs Cafe. You have to try Erica's Tiramisu and Choco-Flan', I recommend it! Chefs Cafe is very clean and the "A" sign hanging should have a "Plus" added to it. Fortunate to have Chefs Cafe onsite at my employment!

I highly recommend this place for breakfast. I ordered breakfast sandwich croissants. Very delicious love the food and the people are very nice. It's totally a hidden gem. Also, I know the place is hard to find, but don't worry. If you see people who work around the facility, just ask for help, and they'll help you. I got helped from Mike and I am very thankful. Will definitely come back again ! :)

Today's special was Cuban sandwich. I didn't feel like eating a sandwich. The chef was very accommodating when I asked for a quesadilla instead. He made me a warm and crispy quesadilla with the Cuban pork and melted cheese. He even asked me if I want anything else in the quesadilla. The pork was a little on the salty side but I still enjoyed the quesadilla. Everyone working in this cafe is so nice and welcoming. The cafe opens from 7:30am to 1:45pm Monday through Friday. I got there around 1:30. There were still four or five other people getting food there. It's nice to have chef's cafe here.

Cochinta Pibil with some rice, beans, two warm tortillas, lime, and lemon soaked onions with some habanero peppers. DELICIOUS!!!

If I could give this place 10 stars, I would! Chef Felix and his crew are wonderful and alwaysss upbeat and welcoming. They don't treat you like a number in the crowd, they actually engage in conversations with you and are truly genuine. I am in LOVE with their Ropa vieja and they know it too. I emailed them to ask to put in their menu more and every time I come in to get some, they remember who I am. Chef Felix recently made cochinita pibil and I was amazing!! Ropa vieja and the pibil is my favorites. The variety of food he make is amazing. I love everything that he cooks. I have yet to try their sandwiches but I'm sure they're just as great. If any of you people who work around the area, I highly suggest chef felixs if you want to have great good, great customer service and overall a great experience. Every time I leave the cafe with my food, I'm filled with joy because of how caring and nice everyone is that works here!

Chef Felix is back! And he brought the salad bar with him. They also have breakfast starting at 7:30am, rotating daily lunch specials and deli sandwiches and wraps. For a small corporate cafe tucked into the back of the building they do a pretty good job. And BBQ's on Fridays, just like the old days!

Chef Felix and his amazing crew ready to serve!

Books & Records Delivers Live Jazz, Standout Cocktails, and Exceptional Happy Hour Bites…read moreAs a fan of Common Stock, expectations were high for its Bankers Hill sister spot, Books & Records--and it easily delivered. The moment you step inside, the bi-level space makes a striking impression with its mid-century accents, exposed brick, and warm, moody lighting. It manages to balance a lively, energetic atmosphere with an effortless chicness that feels tailored for a memorable night out. The happy hour here is an absolute standout, featuring an expansive array of creative food options and crafted drinks. The menu brings an inventive Asian fusion twist to bar bites, offering flavor-forward small plates that pair seamlessly with the beverage program. The drinks deserve equal applause: the craft cocktails are meticulously balanced, and the signature ube-inspired cocktails are as vibrant and distinct as they are delicious. Adding to the venue's overall charm is the live music program. Catching live jazz, soul, and blues sets elevates the entire experience from a simple dinner run into a full sensory event. The music creates a vibrant, soulful backdrop without overpowering table conversation, striking just the right rhythm for intimate catch-ups or energetic group gatherings. Whether you are dropping in for a quick drink, indulging in a multi-dish happy hour spread, or lingering late for the live tunes and exceptional cocktails, Books & Records captures everything that makes CS Hospitality's concepts so special. It is a stylish, fun, and flavorful addition to San Diego's dining scene.

I like the different variety of table seating to the different rooms of where you can dine. It was inviting and very spacious. Everyone that we encountered was super friendly and outgoing. It was very great hospitality. Our waiter was very helpful and check in on us quite often. The service was Superb. Now the food, we went on a Wednesday which they have Happy Hour all day. We ordered The Record Room Burger which came with Fries. This was very tasty. The fries were excellent. I tried one of my friend's dishes which was the Lamb Meatballs and that was amazing. Sadly, the B&R Mac n Cheese did not do it for me. It was missing seasoning and the flakes tasted stale. The staff did give us salt & pepper to jazz it up which did help. Regardless of the mac n cheese, I really enjoyed this place. The red wine was perfection. Overall it was a great experience and I gotta go back to check out other food items.

Within 15-20 minutes the place was packed. First of all do t miss the Café De La Olla House, and sweeten it up with that decadent Piloncllo in the jar. I could maybe live on this beveridge! I ordered the del Mercado topped with carnitas and I opted for an over medium egg on top which was perfect. The chilaquiles were the perfect balance of soggy/crunchy. It's got the decor, chairs, and art to match. Jessica was our server and she was amazing! She gave us lots of suggestions on what to try and what is on the menu since it was my first time here. She recommended the bloody Mary flight so did grab that to try! We also ordered the biscuits and gravy to share and orange juice. The portions are so large! So I am glad we decided to share the biscuits and gravy but let me run down each thing. Bloody Mary Flight: Honestly every single one was amazing. My favorite was definitely the pickle Mary! Everything tasted so delicious and was garnished beautifully. Well worth the 22 dollars. Biscuits and Gravy: Absolute perfection of comfort food. The biscuits were so fluffy and well seasoned. The gravy was also soooo good, just like my mom makes. The sausage in it was also cooked so well and juicy. I've never tried mashed potatoes with the biscuits and gravy but it worked very well! Orange Juice: Not a fan really, not pulpy enough and I wasn't a fan of the flavor. Overall this is definitely a must visit! I will definitely be back.
