The food is very good. The Pad Thai is tasty, filled with veggies and not oily at all. We also like the savory ginger mushroom dish with ground chicken. The restaurant is very very attractive, clean and low-key. There is a little bit of traffic noise when sitting outdoors, but in general the restaurant is very quiet during lunch. The staff are extremely pleasant and attentive. I highly recommend this place if you want to have a nice conversation with a friend. read more

We have been coming to Infinite since we moved to the neighborhood in 2016 and it remains a staple in our top choice restaurants. We love the Treasure Bowl (the seafood is incredibly fresh and the lemongrass broth is healing), the Dancing Prawns (with tantalizing garlic sauce) and their fried rice. Nice addition to piedmont avenue. We need a good place for Tom Yum and pad Thai around here. They just opened 4 days ago so I'm sure they're still ironing out a few things but when we went there the waiter was very friendly and the food came out pretty quick! I thought the tom yum was a little too sweet but you can really taste the lime and chili trying to balance out the taste. The pad thai was good! Nice large shrimp and noodles were well cooked ( I've been to other places where their noodles were chewy and starchy). I didn't see fish on the menu but hopefully they'll add it in later. I really liked this place! The staff was very sweet and made the experience relaxing and wonderful. The food was delicious. I got the fresh summer rolls, mango salad, and a Lychee iced tea. You have to try the iced tea if you have a sweet tooth cuz WOW!! Mango salad was exceptionally fresh with really great, light and flavorful dressing. Mangos were perfectly soft. My friend got the pumpkin curry and convinced me to try it despite the fact that I don't really like curry and I don't like pumpkin AT ALL. It was so delicious I'm actually craving it right now. We've had takeout from Infinite Thai a few times and we are big fans of their food. We've tried their spring rolls, chicken larb, pumpkin curry, eggplant with tofu, sautéed veggies and Tom Kai Gah soup. Everything was delicious and the portions were generous. The only item that was wishy-washy was the peanut sauce. It was a bit watered down. After we came home I noticed a charge of $2 for something vague like a health insurance surcharge or something like that. Surprised to see a charge like that from a little family run joint on Piedmont, but I guess that's the cost of doing business in CA. Recommended. read more

My fiancé and I have been coming here for years as it's a quick and convenient place to grab lunch by our work. The staff that works here are always warm and welcoming! As for the food items, I always get the mouth watering Moo Yang or the Yellow Curry. Both are bursting with flavor and come in a great portion whether you're ordering the lunch combo or entree. I eat Thai food probably once a week, so when looking for Thai in Oakland my friend and I went to Yelp and found Infinite Thai Eatery. We circled the street a few times and luckily found parking 2 doors away in front. We ordered shortly after arriving and were served within 15 minutes or so. The spicy basil dish is my go-to, and Infinite Thai Eatery did not disappoint. The Thai tea was good as well (with a little rose origami design on the top end of the straw) and they put my brown rice in the shape of a star. The restaurant seems small but it is cute and the staff was attentive. I highly recommend this place if you're in the area! read more

We have come here a lot to dine in or get take-out, but I recently used Infinite Thai to cater an event at my job. The ordering process was easy, the owner was very thorough and helpful in suggesting dishes that most people will like. He was also accommodating as one of our guests of honor needed vegan-only, and no peanuts for some of the dishes. I was slightly worried about pad see ew without egg tasting good, but everyone RAVED about the food and how delicious it was. Everyone was going back for seconds, and I was very happy with the two dishes the owner recommended in addition to the ones I had chosen. I would definitely use Infinite Thai to cater an event again as I felt the prices were reasonable for how tasty and plentiful the food was. The papaya salad doesn't compare to its Piedmont ave competitor - Ninna but portion size wise, it's larger than Ninna but smaller than Lotus (also on Piedmont Ave). If I could rank the papaya salads on Piedmont Ave, I would say Ninna, Infinite then Lotus. Ninna being the most flavorful. Tom kha is excellent. I can really taste the lemongrass! I wish there was a vegetarian option with tofu. read more

We figured we'd order to go the last time because we had the kids with us and 2 hours trapped inside a restaurant is never going to end well. 25 mins they said.. ok.. we knew better, so we come back 40 mins later.. nada. They have mistakenly given our order to someone else. 30 mins later we get our food. They still charge us full price.. not a big deal but a bit naughty in my book. for gods sake nice people...you have a fantastic eatery.. hire a busser or a waiter. Finally, a good thai place close by. I think most of the reviews say it all - the food is exceptional, but the service if dining in during dinner is very lacking. We've eaten there three times and ordered out once and I'm sad to say that the service each time was very slow. There was only one person (owner?) working the tables and he did the best he could, but it took a long time to get drinks, place orders, and get food. But I have to give this place four stars because the food is amazing. We've tried something new on the menu each time and we've haven't been even close to disappointed. Definitely give this place a try. I recommend calling in a order and picking up unless you're very patient or are having dinner to hang out. Five stars for one thing because our waiter was charming and singlehandedly brought this from a four to a five. The masaman curry was a tad sweeter than my preference but with its tender chicken and fresh roti it was a delicious meal. My companion and I started with the Tom Kha Gai. A generous serving for two and fresh and hot. She went on to have the Pad Thai which she devoured and had enough for the next day. Before any of this, there was the Yelp check in deal active at that time (late July 2018). Our waiter told me that they had just recently started that deal and as I'd never been to the restaurant before, we worked on the check in together and enjoyed some laughs. The free Thai iced tea was very good. I don't need a whole lot of sugar so I was glad to share that with my companion. (Cue, "You just have to touch my cup...") My mom and her friend recommended Infinite Thai so I decided to come here with a girlfriend. My friend and I shared the shrimp rolls, which came with a tangy, sweet and sour dipping sauce. I had tofu and veggies in a peanut sauce, and she had an eggplant dish. I tried some of my friend's dish and while I do not always love eggplant, I was impressed as the eggplant was cooked well with plenty of flavor. The rice was also shaped like a heart, which we thought was cute. The staff is very nice, but service was slow. Perhaps the restaurant was understaffed as we noticed only two people working. I ordered the red curry with tofu last night for takeout. Well there was 2 tiny pieces of tofu and nothing else. I dug around in the curry sauce over and over again and yep nothing. If I had paid $8 or less I might not be so upset, but at a whopping $14 for a pile of curry sauce and frozen vegetables, that's just not acceptable. This is an excellent addition to piedmont. I had the red curry and it was perfect. My only complaint is that the rice portion was a bit scanty, especially considering the large curry portion. Amazing food and great service. My boyfriend and I go here frequently or order food from Infinite Thai Eatery and we are always happy. I have brought friends and family here and everybody has been pleased with the amazing flavors. My boyfriend and my sister both love their Pork Thai BBQ, while I can recommend pretty much all Vegetarian Dishes. The Summer Rolls come with an amazing peanut sauce and the crab cakes look very good as well. All curries are big enough to take left overs home and enjoy them the day after. Yum!? I was in the area and in the mood for Thai cuisine. I did my search and saw that Infinite had great reviews. We decided to give it a try. Upon entering we saw a lightly decorated dining area, a window to peer into the kitchen. It was a Sunday afternoon and not busy, perhaps 3 parties were eating as well. There was only 2 front of the house staff working. We were seated and given the menu. The menu was well balanced, starting off with appetizers, cold dishes, soups, entrees, curries and noodles. All separated. Back menu was dedicated to desserts and beverages. It took approx: 10 min for the waitress to return to us to get our order, ample time to look through and decide what we wanted to eat. Appetizer: Coconut Prawns: lightly battered and fried, no significant taste from the coconut. Overcooked and dry. Accompanied with a sweet sour sauce. Presentation was nice though. Slow on order, came 2nd after the salad. Salad: Mango/Cashew Salad: was actually first to come out, mangos were refreshing, basic greens (lettuce/mint) seasoned well with a chili vinaigrette. Possibly my favorite out of all the dishes. Soup: Treasure bowl: mixed array of seafood (scallops/mussels/fish/calamari) in a hot lemongrass/ginger (hot/sour) soup. Well seasoned, well proportioned. Entree: Himapan: sautéed crispy beef with mixed veg and Thai chilli sauce. Really really slow, dish was very cold as if it were sitting out, crispy beef was dry, flavorless. Returned. Noodles: Pad See Ew: flat rice noodle with beef/broccoli. Mild flavors, season was ok. Dish was hot, small portion. Noodles slightly overdone as well as the broccoli. Beverages: Thai tea and Thai Coffee: typical flavors, they fill glass with ice all the way to the top, small portion of actual beverage. They use a small Mason jar as container. I believe I finished my drink in 3 gulps. Overall experience: I was expecting a lot more, Thai cuisine is one of my favorites and I was disappointed with the establishment. Service was slow, causing food to not be ran when it's ready. We arrived around 420PM and didn't get our entree meal until 550PM. Cold dishes, cold plates. It's supposed to be a family type of meal, but the way dishes were brought out you would be done with one dish before the next one would come out. Unfortunately, our excitement was short-lived and terminated when we found hair in our food. What followed was a complete break-down in customer service. No apologies or attempt to remedy the situation. We decided to cancel the additional dishes we had ordered, paid for what had been brought to our table, and left baffled by the complete lack of concern for mitigating the situation. Pleasant dining experience. Staff was really friendly and accommodating! They opened a new container of soymilk just for my thai iced coffee. We ordered the Treasures soup, which was very boldly lemongrass flavored, good at first but overwhelmed my palate after a while. The bf thought it was delicious and proceeded to finish every bit. I got to try the pad se ew, which was good but the sauce is definitely on the sweet side.. the same sauce used in the duck fried rice. I loved that both dishes were light on the oil and salt (exactly how I would request it).
