Pad thai was amazing. Tasty and is my favorite. I also ordered the red curry chicken. Delicious. I definitely will be coming back here. Great customer service. Phone orders were easy. 5/5

Stepping into 2026 trying a family owned Thai restaurant that's been around for 40 years ! There is convient parking and access to the restaurant in the rear of the building. Upon entry, feel free to grab a table of your choice. Overall vibe was of the restaurant was pretty chill and laid back. The menu was pretty extensive offering a variety of appetizers, salads, main and curry dishes served family style. We chose the egg plant, fried fish w/ chili sauce, pumpkin curry w/ shrimp and 2 sides of coconut rice. Each dish was executed well, portion sizes just right and you felt like you were eating food served from someone's home. Will need to visit again soon to try some other dishes for sure !

I ordered pad see ew and pad thai to go. It was ready in less than 10 minutes, super quick! When I went in near closing for lunch, there weren't any customers so it was quiet and calm inside but there was a big space. The pad see ew was a little too sweet for me. I know it's generally a sweet dish but this tasted more than usual. The pad thai was delicious and perfectly sour with the added lime!

there's so many thai places in berkeley/oakland, but i choose saysetha time and time again. the restaurant feels so homey, and the customer service here is top notch. the workers are all so kind, and i have a good time every time im here. i often get the gaeng masamun which is like a peanutty curry which is sooo good with super tender beef. sometimes ill get it with the coconut rice, which is a super fun flavor combo that one of the workers recommended! ive also tried the lard nar noodle, pad see ew, and pad thai - and you really cant go wrong with any of these options.

We usually order delivery but tonight we decided to dine in. Parking was easy as there was a big green sign pointing to Saysetha's designated area. No street parking necessary! The mood of the space was inviting with bright colors, warm lighting, and intentional decor. They don't play loud music, which gives space for easy conversation. The man serving us was so nice and had good humor. On top of the ambiance, the food was delicious and arrived fast. Their coconut rice, basil chicken, pad Thai, and fried chili fish complimented one another. Please note, the spice level is mild unless you specify. Overall, if you are looking for a casual family style restaurant with easy parking, intentional decor, and friendly service, please give this a shot.

Sayesetha is one of my favorite no frills Thai spots in Oakland. I love grabbing takeout from here, but also appreciate getting a table with friends every now and then. The service is excellent and the owner is super friendly. I went recently and ended up getting some pad See Ew and beef curry. Both dishes were super tasty. The curry had a rich flavor and was very filling. The owner even brought out some soup for us on the house! I'd recommend checking this spot out if you're looking for some affordable Thai takeout or a super casual dinner with a group of friends.

The food was amazing, I had their green curry, fried tofu, chicken satay, chicken coconut soup and garlic noodles. It was all very flavorful and a lot of the portion. You didnt just get a small bowl of curry/soup you get a very large bowl. The service was great, you got the waiters attention very easily and the food came super fast, they answered our questions, and gave us everything we needed. The ambiance was very welcoming, and warm. They have a fountain that had a great vibe. Tge ambiance is also quiet and not to many people. I would recommend this place to anybody!

Saysetha Thai has been around a few decades. just take out now. offerings: usual menu arranged by protein category eats: pad kee mao (10.95) chicken, medium spicy -rice noodles were thin, not wide. not all the noodles had been adequately stirred fried, saw some white pieces, so mixed it up. -rice noodles mixed with cabbage, onions, basil, carrots. chili missing. -tasted overly sweet, had sodium aftertaste. serving size looked smaller than other thai places 3.5 stars

Thai's beer is a must try

Basil chicken, any curries and the crispy wings are amazing. Underrated spot definitely worth the price and wait.

We all split all the specialty cocktails and I got the Khao Pad Kang Kiew (rice with eggplant and chicken topped with a fried egg). Dishes are $20-23 ish each. We were seated at the 6 person table in the back of the restaurant near the bathroom. My favorite drinks were their take on a hard thai iced tea, the lavender mojito, a take on an espresso martini. There was also this spicy drink that had thai chilis in it that is VERY spicy lol. Pros: - the rice dish was DELICIOUS and also huge haha. Came with cucumbers to cut the peppery flavor if needed. - All the cocktails were pretty different and it was fun to try all of them. They were all beautiful to look at and tasty (lots of coconut and Thai inspiration). - Service was pretty good - Has "typical" thai dishes like pad thai and pad see ew, and also more rare ones that are hard to find - Close to many bars and other establishments, so perfect if you want to eat here as a first, second, or third location of your outing haha Cons: - The air flow in the back wasn't amazing so I did feel like it got stuffy/hot - Parking can be tough in this area so I recommend BARTing Another reason to love Oakland!

We had to re-place our orders because they were never sent to the kitchen and lost, we had to flag down servers otherwise we were sitting there confused for 20+ minutes as they hustled and bustled around us, it was just bizarre. And it was a bit embarrassing as I'd lauded this place to my guest and we proceeded to get snubbed by every server during dinner time. Alas, the pad kemao was still delicious but I don't know if I'd suffer that kind of service again for a meal. And no, nothing was comped or discounted. Ambiance-wise, the restaurant is cute and near a busy area of downtown Oakland so it's easy to get to by BART or by car. I might give them another chance if I'm ever in the area already, but I won't be going out of my way to visit again.
