Ordered the lomo saultado food was good, needed a little salt as the meat was slightly bland, a little more pricey than similar establishments, $60 for two entrees, iced tea including tax and tip. Staff was friendly and attentive. They offer a small discount for cash payment. Probably would try somewhere else next time based purely on price. Good choice if you are not on a budget. read more

Their food isnt bad, but their full size entree is like kid's meal size. My wife doesnt eat much and it was even small for her. Too expensive for what it is. Terible value. Came to try Peruvian food since we don't normally have it. Ordered Ceviche - 4/5super sour and refreshing, not that much fish in it. Might be a little too sour for me. Fried calamari- 5/5; super fresh and fried just right. Portion is okay. Would order it again. Lomo Saltado - 5/5; beef is tender, it tastes like a fajita. Too many potatoes in the dish. Came here in the past, and was a little disappointed. Service was not that great, but they were understaffed--only one server for the whole restaurant (including the outside) on a Saturday lunch. The food wasn't as good as I remembered. Ordered the Lomo Saltado and Aji de Gallina. The saltado was pretty decent, the aji wasn't very flavorful and sort of bland. The bread and sauce that comes for free before every meal was pretty decent. The bread wasn't anything special, but the sauce was flavorful with a little kick. Not sure if I'll be back. read more

Wow does the food deliver! The Lomo Saltado was so tender, it practically melted in my mouth. The Aji de Gallina was like a flavor explosion that left my taste buds jonesing. The Ceviche--it was so fresh, it could've swum straight out of the ocean onto my plate! So yum :) read more

A hole in the wall place, which makes me so angry because it's so well located but doesn't show up on the google recommendations/maps correctly when you look for Peruvian food in LF. I love this spot. I've never seen a nonvegan place allow so many customizations for vegan/vegetarian diets. They can make almost anything vegetarian including their famous fisherman's stew. The first time we shared this stew and papa hunacaina were blown by the flavors despite its simplicity. It came in the same cast iron pan used to cook it! It was steaming hot and we were sold. Next time we tried Juanita's stew and chimbotano. Again amazing. Served in those tiffin box type plates, cute! If I had to pick a bone, I'd say food is a bit too salty, but I think that's Peruvian cuisine - salty and tangy flavors are dominant. Otherwise no regrets. (oh, and be sure to try their bread and the "green sauce" with it, it's a little spicy but it's absolutely delicious) Location, 3.5/5: This restaurant is located in a pretty busy strip mall in Lake Forest, which means parking is a little tight around meal times. That being said, circling for a few minutes should be adequate for finding a spot, and if not, there's a lot more parking not too far away. Atmosphere, 4.5/5: The decorations and setup of this place make it feel very comfy and cozy, and they're very good about accommodating larger groups as well! I order several items from this place fir delivery via postmates. No problem with delivery just the awful, dry, cold food. I cashed to complain and the gal couldn't even find my order! We order side of YUCCA frito, no salt completely tasteless and cold! Unfortunately, I ordered the Ahi Galina FRIES instead of the entree... BIG MISTAKE! Awful, dry, 90% fries and maybe a teaspoon of Ahi AWFUL! It was so dry! Second dish was Lomo Saltado; I wanted better meat so ordered "filet mignon" - it came dry, tasteless and absolutely awful! I had been here before YEARS ago and thought the food was just average, but decided to try it again since I was craving Peruvian food for lunch. I checked their menu and found that they have a few lunch specials for $8.95, including the Aji de Galina, a chicken & potato dish in a (typically) spicy, creamy curry type of broth. I called in my order and was told that it would be ready in 5 min. They are located in the newly remodeled strip mall off of Lake Forest Drive and Muirlands - same shopping center as Buffalo Wild Wings, Peppino's and IHOP. Plenty of parking available. Upon arrival (around 11:30 am), the restaurant was already half full. My lunch was ready to go, and the lady who serviced me was stellar - very friendly! Now on to the food - unfortunately this dish fell flat for me, at least compared to other Aji de Galina dishes that I've had at other Peruvian restaurants. First of all, there was no spice to it at all! Secondly, there really wasn't much flavor. After a few bites, it made me feel like it just wasn't worth the calories. I wish I could say that I loved it, but I didn't. There are better tasting Peruvian restaurants in the area. The service can't be beat, though! read more

A negative zero is in order for this place! Went here tonight since our favorite restaurant across the street was packed. BIG MISTAKE. Took 20 minutes before some one come to our table just to take drink order, I had to finally go up to the counter and and pick up waters for my family since we were eating bread. No problem we thought, yes lots of restaurants are under staff totally understand. But then we watched to go orders being taken and sent to the kitchen before we got a chance for ours to be written down? Hmm.. why do we even go sit there to dine? Then we watch 4 table one after the next getting up leaving we thought we're going to be understanding enough to stay, ok we have our foods ordered then.. our food finally comes, our food is cold!! It's been sitting there so then after getting someone's attention finally, I asked please warm up our food? The food now comes! Guess what's in it??? A huge rock to what appears to be a piece of ceramic plate or cup that's broken REALLY???? I then made the executive decision to ask for items to be taken off the bill and check please? Upon paying the waitress who took our order says Sorry but I'm not responsible for what's going on in the kitchen!!! But make sure you pay for whatever you ate, and drank. Clearly she's making up the loss of sale from the 4 tables that left tonight. I have had one other Peruvian spots in the area and this one absolutely blew me away. I ordered the Loma Saltado w Diet Inka Soda. The beef was tender and the sauce they use really complimented the flavor. The rice was absolutely splendid but what stole the show for me was how they just leave a whole bottle of this delicious Peruvian green nectar that honesty I pretty much finished the bottle but made every bite absolutely scrumptious. Been coming here for @ 20 years. We came here early on New Year's Eve and it was quiet. I ordered the most popular dish, Seafood Paella. Portion was small and the worst part was that it was under seasoned and burnt. I let Estefani (our waitress know) and she simply said I will tell them know and there were no reparations of any kind. Not even an apology. Hope they get things sorted out because this restaurant was always great in the past. Reply to the reply on Google Maps...um, ya the problem is that Estefani didn't check how things were for a very long time and we had to get going. So waiting even longer was not an option. It is very telling when a reply cites policy instead of showing they care more about the customer experience. The chicken was great! I got it with white rice instead of fries, and it was great. (I usually eat it with fries). My wife got the Huancaina spaghetti with Milanesa de pollo, it looked great, she says it is a little spicy for her so if you are not a fan of hot food you can ask them to make it less spicy. This restaurant owner Ana (per worker Reinaldo) is serving rotten dishes to delivery customers. This wasn't just a case of "bad quality and flavor". This is downright rotten hazardous and repulsive. The ceviche fish was so rotten it had an odor so smelly it made everyone want to gag and no good fresh ceviche should smell up a whole car and condo. This was evil. My kids were going to be fed this. Order the Chicken Salgado and extra bread with the green sauce for pickup. The main thing I love is the bread and the green sauce. Chicken saltado is just the bonus. And then what happens, I get one little roll and no sauce. I understand mistakes happen but I called to let them know and was told my only option is to drive back.
