Well, I was surprised today how good that was. We had some salad, grilled steak and fries, grilled chicken and fries, stir fried veggies and fries, ground beef empanadas, and vegetarian empanadas. Everything was good. Steak and fries, the meat wasn't super tender but not too bad. Beef empanadas were good but they were fried instead of baked. I ordered through Grubhub: one order of spinach empanadas and two orders of huancaína potatoes. Unfortunately, the meal fell short from start to finish. The empanadas arrived with the lime sauce spilled all over it, leaving it a little soggy instead of warm and crispy. The flavor itself was decent, but the texture completely took away from the experience. Both orders of the huancaína potatoes were cold. One of them felt like it had been taken straight out of the refrigerator. At $13.65 per order, that's simply unacceptable. I contacted Grubhub and was offered a $10 credit, which doesn't come close to addressing the issue, considering I paid $27.30 for food I had to reheat myself. Overall, extremely disappointing. First, they need to get their act together. I ordered a beef dish which was excellent with spaghetti but they ran out of spaghetti & gave me rice which I abhor. My wife had a very nice fried halibut in béchamel sauce. I also had a Peruvian chicken soup which was good but nothing unusual. The couple we went with ordered a beef dish without spicy heat that came with a very high level of heat. They returned it & it was replaced with rotisserie chicken which ice cold. Service was slow & confused probably because there appeared to be only one server for 10 tables. It's a smallish room but cozy & nicely furnished. Heard about this great Peruvian restaurant from a friend. Decided to have lunch and try it out. We weren't disappointed at all. Service was great. Menus and water as soon as we came in. Moderately busy. Ordered their fabulous Sangria to have with our lunch. I ordered their Pan Fried Halibut and my friend ordered the Spinach Empanadas. Other than having way too many beans, my fish was cooked perfectly and I had a small side salad that was perfect. We will definitely recommend Inka Grill and come back again. Usually not too busy at lunch time however, it does gets packed on Friday/ Saturday night. Must try: Lomo Saltado (Served alongside fluffy white ricex , sautéed onions, french fried and Beef), Seafood ceviche ( citrus tastes with squid , corn and fish)- such a refreshing appetizer here. Yes, I was not happy with this restaurant three months ago but I was in the area and had a craving for Saltado de Mariscos so I decided to give them another try. They did not disappoint! This was the best Saltado dish I've had in a long time, did not find fault with it at all. The fries were not soggy, it wasn't doused in soy sauce, the seafood was not over cooked, it was perfect. Estefani was friendly and attentive, and when I told her I was so happy with my food, she told me it does depend on the cook but the manager did tell them not to use so much soy sauce. As far as the food goes, it's still a better value than the ridiculously overpriced Inka Mamas. Just be aware that they have a 4% upcharge for paying with a credit card. Wanted to check out other places for Peruvian cuisine. Saw they have one near where we were at so we gave it a try. The place looks really cool and relaxing. We order the fish ceviche and the goat stew with their famous chocolate bread pudding. The fish ceviche is very limey and a bit tart! The host stereo is pretty good but missing the infamous fried plantain. The bread pudding was da bomb. So nice and moist and not too sweet. A bit pricey for the dessert but it was good. Really good Peruvian food is difficult to find, especially when your family is Peruvian. With Anna taking such great care of us, it was like being at home. The food here is incredible! This was my 1st time trying Peruvian cuisine and loved the dishes. The main dish was the beef tenderloin chimbotano. I can honestly say this is one of the best dishes I've eaten. The profile between the spices, meat and sauce were unique and blended together very well.
