Food was okay and the service was slow---the restaurant was pretty busy and they were very understaffed. The cook came out from the kitchen and ended up taking our order! We were pretty okay with everything until the check came---The prices they charged us were different than on the menu. We pointed out the discrepancy and the waiter said, "oh, this is a lunch menu, sorry." We were disappointed that they didn't honor the menu prices and NOWHERE on the menu did it say it was for lunch. Ive been coming to this gem for several years, even got my friends, family and co workers turned on to fresh unique flavors of Inkas. My mom said it best..it's loving family owned business, it's like they invite you into their living room and personally serve you. Everything at this restaurant is delicious!!! It is very authentic Peruvian food and the service is immaculate. The owner is so sweet and gets to know all of her customers. First time ever today trying Peruvian cuisine, and I like it! I ordered the Chaufa with beef, chicken, shrimp, and egg. Kind of like Chinese fried rice but with a distinct (I'm guessing Peruvian) flavor. Had the Chicha Morada drink. Interesting but not destined to be one of my favorites (don't hold it against the restaurant since it's just a drink they serve). Followed the meal with a couple Peruvian cookies with leche dulce (or called something like that) filling. Wow, those were great! I would give them five stars if it weren't for the slooooow service. Very friendly and attentive waitress, but it took an eternity for the food to come out of the kitchen. read more

I love Peruvian food and I've been trying to like this restaurant's food, just because it's close to my work, therefore convenient, but their food is just not good at all! I last tried their lomo saltado, it was horrible, not good at all. Not to mention the bad service - waitresses are rude. I called today, to ask a simple question, the woman who answered the phone took forever to pick up and when she did, she was giggling and ended up hanging up on me; she didn't really speak English very well (bad idea when you run a business in the US). Don't waste your money at this restaurant. It's okay, not the best. If you didn't like th food here then you need to try El Rocotto in Cerritos. I think anytime you get farther away from OC & closer to LA that's where you'll find true authentic anything. Whether it's Sushi, Mexican, Peru, Brazilian or whatever the closer you get to a real city & away from the suburb OC Housewives type places then you'll get real food. I came here with my boyfriend for lunch, he works at Blizzard. It's walking distance. We usually do a late lunch, which means by the time we go....there isn't anyone here but us and maybe....one more group/couple. I'm surprised I actually like Peruvian food. I usually get the Steak Encebollado and my boyfriend gets Tallarin Verde Chicken. Everything was super tasty. The one thing I think was disrespectful is one of the waitress there surely had a crush on my boyfriend.....she would only greet him and talk to him if he needed anything, didn't really acknowledge I was even sitting there. After four years away, we were blessed to have remembered this little gem to get away from the craziness of the Spectrum on a Friday night! Away from the 45min to 1 hour wait holding a giant buzzing pager, the picante, saltado, and ceviche of this hidden hole in the wall brings back memories of the same fantastic dishes 4 years ago at wonderful prices. Did they have Yelp back then? Sitting outside under the 80 year old oak tree, the essence and aroma of Peruvian home cooking makes me look forward to our Macchu Pichu trip just that much more! Chilean wine, excellent service, and a tranquil yet comforting environment makes us glad to be alive in this wonderful world! Inka's is pretty good - I've been there a couple times while working at my old job, and that was my first time trying Peruvian food. It's quite an interesting mix with the french fries in lots of their dishes. Anyway, the staff was *very* friendly with us, in a flirtatious way almost. I got the seafood Paella here for lunch. The dish came out like fried rice. It was a bit dry for me so I drenched it with the sauce they have at the table. I ordered the beef saltado with broccoli, the fries in it was TOO soggy, the beef was dry, and the broccoli was overcooked. I had better!
