A regular stop while on the peninsula. Generous servings, always fresh, filling and satisfying. Tried their pizza, total surprise! Great crispy crust, the pizza sauce is packed flavor and perfect spice blend and who can resist the layer of good ole Wisconsin cheese! Best surprise is, it won't break the bank, and incredible value compared with the other sandwich shops in the area! I've always been amazed at the friendly and attentive staff, they are truly appreciative of the customers who frequent this really fine establishment. There are a few tables inside and out for dining. A couple blocks away is a lovely park with tables weather permitting. Oh and the bathrooms are spotless for those who care. We ordered a couple of subs and a soup from Fatzo's. Walked in to order, then an employee brought it out to our car when it was ready. Must have been 10min or less. My husband got a hot BLT and I got the tuna. Also tried the soup of the day which was a cheesy vegetable. It was just under $20 for everything. We were pleased with the customer service, quality and taste. They have a large menu including pizzas and salads. Nice location. Masks are still required if you have't been vaccinated, which we appreciated. Recommend. read more

Fatzo's ... what a great name for a sandwich shop that piles on the meat and toppings. Fatzo's is a few blocks from downtown Sturgeon Bay. Super that a non chain store subway sandwich shop is here at the entrance to Door County. read more

The guy who took our order was super sweet! Food came out pretty quick. I had ordered the grilled chicken sub in a tomato basil wrap. The food was amazing and it was really cheap too. 4/5 stars bc they didn't have sprite:( but that's okay haha. Also it was a small little hole in the wall vibes. read more

Came back to the area after a several year absense. I ordered the pizza again. It was still the same good quality, but not over the top. The pizza tastes good, but is on the greasy side. I had red-orange oily residue on my hands with evert bite. I love a thin crispy crust. This one is a cornmeal one. The toppings were fresh and generously distributed. I had never been to Fatzo's and I'm from the area and it did not disappoint! I asked the guy working cashier what his top sandwich was and he recommended me the southwest chicken sub. A few years ago we stopped by this place to try it out and when we walked in we were informed they were out of bread (how could a sub shop be out of bread??) so we left. A few days ago we decided to go try it out again. This time- they had bread in stock! We ended up with a selection of hot and cold subs and some soup. The whole sandwich is HUGE and is only good if you're splitting it with someone or eating half and saving the other for lunch the next day. The half size was perfect and my sub was delicious. The soup was eh, I had had better before but it wasn't horrible. Overall, there is a good chance we will stop by on our next trip to Sturgeon Bay read more

Warning: Do not order a 16" sub sandwich unless you are super hungry. The 16" subs are really 16" long and are too much for just lunch unless you are starving. The place is clean, the food is served promptly and the help is attentive. The menu has extensive hot and cold subs, half (8") and full size (16") as well as pizza and soup. The sandwiches are packed full of meat. Fatzo's gets 4 of 5 stars and I will be returning. read more

The person at the register was really rude, and expected us to know their process for dealing with orders during COVID - despite it being our first time there. The sandwich we got was bland, and the roast beef was slimy, smelled rotten, and tasted off. It was also expensive. $18.00 for a sandwich and 2 drinks. You're better off at subway. read more

We came here for lunch during the week. I ordered a BBQ chicken sub. The sub was rather skimpy. A chicken breast smothered in BBQ sauce slapped on a bun, I was expecting more on the sandwich, such as cheese, pickles and maybe even lettuce. The BBQ sauce was too spicy for my taste, wishing they would offer a milder sauce. You can get your choice of fries or potato salad, I got the fries. The were good, for fries. We ordered their "meaty" pizza with extra cheese. We were a little apprehensive when the crust choices were thin or self-rising. This sounded a lot like a frozen pizza, but there were build-your-own choices, so we thought the pizzas had to be home made. But, our first instincts were right. This pizza was one step above a frozen pizza. Crust like cardboard. Toppings didn't taste fresh. We were very disappointed. I can't recall how we stumbled across Fatzo's, but it's now our "to-go" place for lunch when we're leaving Door County to head home. Bread here is really good which is always a key to a good sandwich. They have a pretty extensive menu, location is convenient and sandwiches are good size. We've learned to call ahead because they do get lines the closer you get to the lunch hour. read more

This is the place to stop in Door County for a consistently good sandwich at a good price with mostly short wait times. Parking is available right next to the building and there are a few tables and chairs outside in summer. The Door County food scene is horrible since the locals don't understand the quality available outside the area. This shop also has pizza which I don't recommend, but sandwiches are always fresh and carefully made. I have visited this location about fifteen times and there is also a Two Rivers WI location which has similar quality. read more

Not impressed. Stopped in two days ago and ordered three subs to go. They were busy so I expected a small wait (like maybe 10 minutes or so). So I sat and waited patiently with all the other customers. More than a half hour went by and I started to notice that the people who were ahead of me in line had received their food, had eaten, and were getting ready to leave. I went up to the counter and asked how much longer it would be. My subs had been sitting in the small window sill they pass orders through, plain as day. Same window sill that every other customers orders had passed through, and their name was called and they're food served. The window sill could be even two feet long. The clerk's "excuse" was that she didn't even see them, even though she saw every other order that had come through there in more than a half hour. She offered an insincere apology, blaming the fact that "she couldn't see them" like my order was somehow hiding. The tone of her apology was rude, as if she was really saying, "what do you want from me, I have work to do." I wasn't offered a discount or a comped either. Nothing they said our did made me feel welcome, or like they wanted my repeat business. They made me feel like my time and money are invaluable. Working in the tourism industry, I normally recommend this place to my customers, as in the past I have enjoyed their food and normally receive adequate service with the exception of one other occasion which didn't even phase me compared to my experience today. I will no longer be recommending this place nor do I plan on ever returning. The food didn't even taste good after it had been sitting for so long. read more
