I contacted Gateway BMW Ducati because I expected a Ducati dealership to be the best place to perform the work. On Thursday, July 23, I called the service department and left a voicemail. Their recording said calls would be returned within 24 hours. Mine never was. After hearing nothing, I drove to the dealership on Saturday, July 26, where I spoke with a service advisor named Peter. I specifically requested a quote for a Missouri state inspection, an oil change, front and rear Pirelli Diablo Corsa IV tires, and timing belt replacement. He said they were busy, asked me to wait, and after about an hour asked for my email address, saying he would send the estimate later that day. When the quote arrived, it included several services I had never requested, which significantly increased the price. I immediately replied and asked for a revised quote containing only the items I had originally requested, explaining that I was comparing prices with another Ducati dealer. That was the last communication I received. No one returned my original voicemail, no one responded to my follow-up email, and I never received the revised quote I requested. It's disappointing that getting a simple estimate required multiple attempts and still wasn't completed. I'm giving Gateway BMW Ducati 2 stars instead of 1 because everyone I interacted with was polite and courteous in person. Unfortunately, courtesy alone doesn't make up for poor communication and the complete lack of follow-up. Based on my experience, communication and customer service fell well below what I would expect from an authorized Ducati dealership, and I ultimately took my business elsewhere.
