This hotel was very nice to stay at. It was located right in the heart of Pacifica Square. The 42-room hotel is close to the beach but you can not see it. The only downside is the beds and air circulation. The bed was super firm and made it hard to get comfortable. Being so close to the beach, I would hope to have gotten more beach air. Only 1 window was able to be crached, which made it hot in the room. Though I am giving it a 4 star rating, I will still recommend it. read more

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The room was updated with hardwood/laminate flooring. Perfect amount of lighting. The beds were well made, clean, and very comfortable! The microwave and refrigerator were perfect for keeping leftovers cold and warming them up. The inn is within walking distance of key restaurants and the beach also made this an ideal place to stay. The customer service was extremely friendly, and I love the snackage they have for sale at check in at the lobby. Parking was easy, and I appreciate that they had dedicated parking where we could keep an eye on our car. The bathroom was also updated with a beautiful lighted mirror, with wall-mounted shampoo, conditioner, and body wash in the shower/bath. The bathroom also had a fan. Lastly, the temperature of the room was easily controlled, and the temperature stayed consistent. I look forward to visiting again. read more

This was a nice place for a little get away right before the state opened everything up and the next Covid surge has arrived due to all the fools not wearing masks and in fantasy land that Covid is over. Last month the hotel still had masking signs up in common areas, elevator, and indoor halls and most people were compliant and considerate, except the coughing chick in the lobby with no mask... yuck! The manager helping her should have had her put a mask on. Word to the wise, do not use their free Wi-fi because I immediately got weird calls from Russia on my cell and more for weeks and other odd emails soon after I used it but I was able to get a signal with my cell hotspot, luckily. They need to update their very easy password for starters but also look into better securing their network. The queen room with an ocean view was the best because the weather was perfect and listening to the waves crash all night was just bliss after a horrible year. The room was very clean and smelled great and they did a nice job on the remodel! Very convenient to have a microwave and mini fridge and the giant TV had tons of channels and lots of free movie channels. The bed was super comfortable too, so not sure about the other reviews that complained. It is so nice to have little Rockaway beach and a few shops (including a dispensary) within walking distance. Skip that sketchy sushi joint down there though! Looking forward to heading back to this little hotel when case rates go down again. read more

I absolutely loved my stay here! It was sooo relaxing ! Got an Ocean view room. Kept the window open the whole time and fell asleep to the sound of thr crashing waves. Didn't leave my room once and just Doordashed my food and watched T.V and slept. Ig you are going to go to a Restaurant you're better off at the Cafe across the street rather than Nick's on Grand. The food isn't that great, over proved and the Manager is awful. My phone fell behind the bed and Richard came to the rescue to helpe get it. The amenities are great! They will provide you with anything you need and have plenty of beverages and snacks in the lobby. The continental breakfast is free.. very " Carby" though which didn't matter to me anyway since I ordered all my meals. I'd stay here again any day :). Very happy! read more

Inn at Rockaway Beach turned out to be a Nice Place to stay for My Lady and I. The proximity to Rockaway Beach was really good, less than a block away from 4 restaurants with decent seafood and Ocean Views. When I booked the Hotel the staff was very hospitable on the phone, very considerate and got back to me in under an hour to let me know the Room with an Ocean View would be available when we needed it to be. The views were awesome from the room, the beach was nice with surfers and fishermen, and walking trails leading up an asphalt trail on the left of the beach. I tried to stay at this property the weekend before last. After paying for parking and a $45 pet fee, I spent $380. The room was FILTHY. I spilled a little water and wiped the floor and the towel came back black. It looked like it hadn't been cleaned properly in a LONG time. Also, the TV was broken and they couldn't fix it. They claimed it was "tricky" but wouldn't come to the room to help. They told my husband to try and fix it. They approved us to get a refund, but the property manager won't put my refund through. Booking.com has called twice to help but the property manager is never there. We are out $380 and didn't stay the night. DO NOT STAY HERE. read more

Great for a quick stay with a great ocean views close to several eateries and with in walking distance of ocean, the only caveats I had was the lack of cellular reception and only hotel wifi is made available which is odd. Also be aware to read wifi disclosures since many are run by third party businesses that do not offer secure web browsing like this hotel and others like it in this particular area. My other issue was one of the rooms had the bathroom fan missing its vent which by the way needed a thorough cleaning because mold was visible. Many hotels seem to neglect the ac and bathroom fans so it was no surprise. Hotel staff are very courteous and did their best to make my stay a pleasant one. That said I would give the staff 5 stars, the hotel itself only 3 out of 5 due to it's lack of a secure internet provider and lack of cellular services and poor room inspection prior to guest stay. read more

On first appearance it looked good, the elevator was out, I'm disabled and asked for a handicap room, the clerk said she didn't receive that message from corporate on our booking. The couch had stuff (from a previous client) on it and needed cleaning. In the bathroom, they cocked over mold and it was growing into the cocking, and the sink was very slow draining. Every time you moved when in bed the mattress made a loud noise, making it difficult to stay asleep as the slightest move made the noise. I'm usually a positive person and don't like posting this, but it's all true. I will say the staff was very friendly. read more

I didn't even stay. I tried two different rooms. Rm one had not been cleaned. Spotty yellow stained bedsheets. Black mold or grease stained towels. Dirty shower. Rm two, the floor boards were broken, curtains are filthy, bedsheets stained and bugs in the room. Both rooms had paint peeling, baseboards chipped and broken and thick layers of sticky dust everywhere. Parking is sketchy and it seems like they have a few drug/frat like parties wo guest concern. I'm surprised the health inspectors haven't visited them. Very low quality and lack of care for guests desire on cleanliness. The only saving grace was the front desk person who was kind and understood why I refused to stay. I stayed at the Fairfield instead which was lovely and clean. When we arrived, the room was contemporary and clean. Beds were comfortable. We thought we were in for an ok stay even though the elevator was broken the first couple of days we were there. We were on the 2nd floor and didn't have anyone above us until the last night. The upstairs neighbors walked like they had bricks for shoes. The reason I didn't give more stars was that during our 4 night stay, the room was never cleaned or garbage collected. We put the "please refresh our room" sign on the door knob and never had the room serviced. My husband asked the front desk after our third night to send someone and the desk clerk made some lame excuse but asked if we needed fresh towels. That was pretty disappointing. I can live with noise and things not working quite right. I can't live with garbage and unswept floors. Even if the elevator is broken a broom and a garbage bag isn't too much to ask for. This place an Air Bnb or Hostel that you have to clean up after yourself. They seem really understaffed. read more

These stars are not the same as a hotel star rating. This is based upon the needs of our trip. We wanted a nice simple place right on the beach for our San Mateo County Coast Weekend adventure. This place fit the bill perfectly. 1) easy access from the freeway 2) free parking and was very well lit and seemed safe 3) steps from the beach (rockaway) 4) clean. Oddity- this hotel does not have carpet, but totally understand cause we tracked in sand. I would suggest to the hotel to have an extra bath may so i can wipe sand off my feet that i tracked in. Plus+ we got an ocean view room which was on the 3rd floor. you do over look the small motel but it was good enough especially with the bay windows. Bed was comfortable but not high end, sheets and comforter were the kind that is laundered each day. i felt very safe and clean in the bed. Pillows were small and flattened out for me but i am picky about my pillows. Room seemed to be recently renovated in the past 5 years so has a nice updated feel to the NOTE if you are looking for a warm cozy hotel room on the beach, this is not it but if you are planning to stay here to be close to the beach this is perfect. Walking distance to restaurants and coffee shop. We ordered sushi down the street and ate it i the room. Morning coffee option in the room via Kurig and the coffee shop 1/2 block away. I would return but maybe on the weekday to avoid the weekend prices. read more

Giving the positive two stars mostly just for the staff and being able to accommodate a last minute stay here. But the negative review is for the many bugs that continue to walk around me. I'm not sure if it's common for water Front motels to have an ant problem or if its due to something else. I just stopped by Rite Aid to grab a few ant and bug traps to try to combat it but again I don't feel like I should be going out of my way to fight their bug problems. They should have bug traps in the room or maybe a disclaimers they have a bug problem. Also, the bathtub would not fill up. I maybe got an inch or 2. It was really sad since I love taking baths at hotels and the only chance I get to. I'm not sure if maybe the seal is not working and they should probably fix it. Also, the faucet for the tub is very slow. The room does look modern from the latest updates and they have a fridge and microwave. -P.S. now you have to pay $10 a night for parking. Some of the criticism is fair. The walls seem a bit thin and yes a couple of pieces of laminate floor lifted up in our room, but for the price and location is was far from bad. I really wanted to give this place a better review. I booked this place because I wanted to get out of the heat for a couple of days. It looked cute and comfy, and it wasn't bad. It reminded me of a lot of typical beach hotels so I normally would give a higher rating because my expectations aren't all that high for these little beachy places. So ... here goes. Outside of the beach time, which was fabulous the other part of the stay was being lazy and catching up on some movies in my room. The stated "view" was really of the parking lot of the next hotel. If you stood by the window you could see the beach though. The room was on the second floor and I could hear the people upstairs like they were right there with me. The biggest issue was the internet and the television though. I informed them the day I got there that the television didn't work. They never did get that fixed. Finally I just asked for a discount off the room cost. They never offered a room change. They gave me a whopping $10 a night discount because of it. When I checked out they had already charged my card. The manager wasn't available. I asked to have her call me and have never heard from her. I could probably call and battle it but it's just not worth the time. I probably won't stay there again because I actually expected them to make it right, and they didn't. So ... the beach is small but nice. There are a couple of cute beachy restaurants nearby. The room itself wasn't bad. Parking was free. The front office staff was pleasant. Booked a room here with short notice, as a spur of the moment trip out of town. The price was fair for a Friday night. It is very close to the beach, shops, cafes, and restaurants. The parking lot can be tight, but driving a Mini, we had no issues fitting into a spot. It's also free, which is nice! The beds are small. I am used to a king, so much less room to sprawl out, but we were sleepy and the size didn't matter once we were asleep. I like that there was no carpet in the rooms. I always feel cleaner that way, and it helps with the sand we tracked in. The room itself had plenty of space, and was quiet enough, even being on street level. Really would have loved a laundry bag to put our sandy, wet clothes in once we came back to the room. Overall, definitely not a bad spot whatsoever! read more

The manager Deep, who has made no attempt to contact me to rectify the situation, replied to my review regarding my experience at the ROCK AWAY INN. His response that we stayed in the room for over 2 hours is false, and an outright lie. We absolutely did not stay in the room at all. We walked in, and were probably inside for less than two minutes before I met with the front desk clerk and requested a refund for unsatisfactory service. I'm sure that a review of the Inn's surveillance footage and a statement from the front desk clerk and my partner would confirm "Deep's" response to be false and a lie. I recommend that the owners of this establishment conduct a thorough investigation into this incident, as there are serious concerns on how their business is being managed. This is a warning to any potential guests of this establishment. Be very careful if you decide to stay at the ROCK AWAY INN. Not only do I stand by my review, I've also established that the manager, "Deep" is not telling the truth about the incident we were involved in. It's unfortunate that an incident which could have been settled with a mere refund, has now culminated into a situation of this proportion. I will continue to wait for a direct response from someone with more credibility than "Deep". read more

I stay here often, once or twice a year. The people at the front desk are always kind and professional. Upon entering our room, I immediately noticed crumbs on the tv stand/dresser. Not a super big deal, as everything else seemed clean. The next day we left our towels on the floor to be changed out and left the "please refresh our room" sign on the doorknob. When we came back at 4pm, the room hadn't been touched, towels still on the floor. We didn't really care if the cleaned the room or swept the floors, we mainly wanted fresh towels. When I called the front desk to inquire, she said they were very short staffed and house keeping had gone home for the day. She offered for me to pick up fresh towels at the counter, which I was fine with. Again, the lady at the desk was very nice. With all that being said, I feel like with the cost of the room, the managers of the hotel should ensure the bare minimum is being tended too. read more

After a long drive from SoCal only to arrive at this property without parking lot due to resurfacing. And the area does not really have a lot of available parking to accommodate all their guests since it is in a business area. A little heads up for customers who made reservations should at least been given notice the day they planned the resurfacing so we could've cancelled and find a different hotel in time. Poor communication from the management part. I just had surgery three weeks ago and the last thing we need is to walk far from the hotel just for parking. This is just poor customer service. Although the hotel is clean and nice but i probably won't recommend this for people who wants to relax and find a little disappointing surprise like this. read more

Such a beautiful hotel right next to Rockaway Beach! The hotel is currently under renovation and the renovated rooms are gorgeous! My boyfriend and I booked an ocean view room and it was fantastic. Even though there was construction going on, we barely heard any noise. We barely heard people from the neighboring rooms either. We just heard the sounds of the ocean. The rooms are pretty small, but cozy, which is perfect for a romantic getaway! I really loved how the rooms are decorated. It gives off a nice ocean feel. I especially loved the lighted mirror instead of the traditional vanity for the sink area. The hotel is very simple and all the front desk staff I encountered was very friendly. There is no breakfast provided- just coffee and a few pastries in the lobby. However, right across the street is the diner called Breakers which serves amazing and affordable breakfast and lunch. The hotel is also within walking distance of the beach and several seafood restaurants. Another plus is they have free WiFi that actually worked and free parking. I cannot think of any negatives about this hotel at all. 10/10 would stay again and would recommend to anyone that is looking for an ocean view hotel in Pacifica. read more

A no frills hotel close to the beach. They've clearly spent a lot on renovating this place (unless it's new?). The paint, fixtures and decor are modern and pleasing. However, our room felt a bit stifling. It was narrow and faced the wall of another building. There was zero view which is unexpected for something right by beautiful beaches. Along with the dark paint and dark headboard, it felt a little claustrophobic. We were fine sleeping there and it was comfortable but we didn't spend much time in the room. There is no pool, no hot tub, no breakfast. Well, they do have a "continental breakfast" but it's quite lacking even for that. At $200+ a night it's all about the destination (Pacifica, Half Moon Bay). The staff were pleasant. When we checked out, there was no one at the desk and there was a bowl that said "place keys here" so we assumed that was the checkout procedure. A bit awkward. They were doing some sandblasting right by our window which was loud. They didn't warn us at all. Also, at 9am, housekeeping staff knocked on our door even though we would be checking out at 11am. That's not unique to this hotel but it always surprises me that the staff doesn't coordinate that kind of thing to improve customer service. Parking is adequate, free, and close to the rooms. There are two stories but no elevator that we could see. read more

If I could give this place zero I definitely would paid 179 for the room plus a 35$ pet fee just to get in my room and not have remote went to ask the front desk lady where she rudely told me to check around the room as if I didn't already. Then she gave me a dirty ass remote and said try this, only for it not to work went back up there for her to say I'm coming to fix it ,only to say she changing my room to a smaller one then what I already booked. Asked for something bigger and they said the whole hotel was booked when it clearly wasn't. Then they charged me over $50 more and I didn't find out till the next day because they said there was poop on the towels when it was period blood. The staff here is rude and the rooms definitely aren't worth the price. The WiFi is slow and kicks you off. Not coming here again. I'll let all my family and friends know to take their business else where! read more

This hotel deserves NO stars! My friend's hair got caught in their defective hair dryer with no cover over the fan. Had to actually cut her hair! They only gave me 35% discount! Unbelievable!! The laminate flooring was not attached to the floor and was sliding all over the place! Dangerous to walk across!! Just terrible place to stay in Pacifica.
