They did a decent job on the remodel. Things look nIce and seem fairly clean. But, I have questions? As seen in the photos, the faucet is too short for the sink so water gets all over and is difficult to wash your face. Who put in the first one and then decided it would be fine for all the rooms? It doesn't work, they should not have been installed. Next, the beds, I get it. It is expensive to remodel and buy new beds. But choosing the cheapest, most uncomfortable ones is not good business when you own a hotel. People want a good nights sleep. They are so uncomfortable. Glad I was only there for one night. Next, the TV line up. 3 Sports channels, 2 news channels and 57 infomercials. Why? It is horrible. I get it, get outside, go to the beach. All great, but I want to watch a little TV before I go to bed. Is that too much to ask? Overall, I was not impressed. read more

We stayed her once before it was remodeled so thought it would be cool to see it since. We paid around $210 for one night when we got there my husband asked if we could pay to upgrade to an ocean view. Last time we stayed we had a view of the town which was fine. He told us there weren't any clean and wouldn't be cleaned today even though we saw the rooms being cleaned. Not only did we not get a view of the ocean but we got a window covered by a wall with loud power tools going off right out side. DO NOT STAY HERE. I never write reviews, but this warranted one. The sheets were stained, holes in the wall, floors were filthy. I walked in, and immediately turned around and left. I was traveling with my 1.5 year old daughter, and I did not feel this hotel was safe, clean, or even remotely close to hygienic. I grew up in Pacifica; this is my hometown. I didn't expect 5 star luxury, but I expected a lot more than this. I literally walked over to the hotel next door and asked if they had room, despite not receiving a refund for this atrocious excuse for a room at Inn at Rockaway, because I could not envision staying there one second longer. It feels like a dingy, run down, motel on the side of the road somewhere. DO NOT STAY. Pay the extra $100 and stay at the Marriot next door. read more

my first time staying in pacifica and at this hotel. i was very happy with room 206 with a partial ocean view. the room was updated, clean and roomy. i encountered three different people at the front desk over my 2 day stay and all were friendly and helpful - shout out to ashley! i recommend the hotel and am looking forward to returning in the summer to enjoy more of the beach and the restaurants right outside my door. read more

Booking and check in was was fast and easy, price is very reasonable for the location. A block away from the beach, right across the street from restaurants, and central point into town. A couple flaws like the faucet in the bathroom sink is way to short so water gets everywhere, towels are small and thin, bed is pretty hard and uncomfortable but you can't beat the price. They want your money, at all costs, with no remorse. I set my sick mother and father up with a room here when she came down for doctors appointments (she wanted to stay on the beach, in her old hometown) Booking was easy, price is reasonable and the ratings are good. The room looked really nice and clean too! Beautiful view. My mom loved it, and even recommended it to some other patients in her waiting room this morning...while she was oblivious to what I was dealing with. As I said, my mother is sick. She uses marijuana as medicine. She is OVERLY respectful, and CAN read the multiple, obvious signs all over exclaiming there is no smoking. They enjoyed nice walks on the beach (outside) anytime they wanted to medicate (Which I am SURE is very clear on the security cameras and happened multiple times over the one night stay).. After they checked out and my mom was busy in the hospital, I got a call that they were going to charge damage fees for them smoking in the room!! WHAT!! They said it smelled badly. So I left work to go down there and check it out. Yes, the room smelled of fresh marijuana - barely - but not SMOKED marijuana. My mother had broken some of it down to roll it into joints. When you are dealing with potent stuff like my mom has, the smell is very strong. Even if she opened her bag to grab her phone out, you would smell it. There are two very distinct smells from something being burnt with a flame, and a fresh plant being ground up. They lady at the counter would not listen or educate herself on this FACT. They have no proof that anything was smoked, there is no ash anywhere and the smell was nearly gone by the time I got there (smoke would be musty and linger a lot longer). NO JUSTIFICATION! They do have proof, on their security cameras, that my mother and father left the room multiple times and smoked outside. Weird, why would two older sick people leave their room, walk down the flight of stairs to smoke and then go BACK up the stairs (that I am sure were a pain for them) go inside the room and smoke again? It doesn't make sense! I asked the front desk lady if people who use perfume get charged damage fees if the next renter is allergic, and she said no.....well this is the same it was a scent, not a smoke fume. So what is this lady's problem? Oh, they just want your money, at all costs, with no remorse. That's what! read more

Honestly I was not sure what to expect. I liked the modern style in the rooms I had seen on the website but sometimes pictures on the websites can fool you. Well I was agreeably surprised and was delighted to find a room extremely clean with plenty of amenities to add comfort to your stay. Besides the cleanliness and the friendliness of the staff in the hotel I have to add that the location is excellent. restaurants and sunsets right outside the hotel. A true little GEM And no worry about finding a parking place the hotel provide free parking. Will definitely come back and will recommend your hotel in a heartbeat. Customer service is amazing here, and so is the location because you're steps away from the beach, and the cute little town. With that being said, there's a few things wrong in the room, we paid about $200 for a queen room, bed feels more like a full size. Parking isn't great (mainly on the people who decided to park so crooked), we found a stain on the sheets under the comforter, and the shower makes such loud noises that it feels like you're about to break through the floor. Other than that, the location is nice and they have a lot of food options around here. Will definitely be back. read more

We had a wonderful short stay at Inn at Rockaway. The rooms were clean, parking was easy, and there are a few great restaurants and coffee shops within walking distance. I would give a 0 review if I could which is really sad because this has always been our go to place to stay! We have been coming to this hotel for YEARS!!! I called tonight to book a 1 night hotel for Saturday night. I spoke to Jessica whom was very rude and condescending. She had absolute no customer service and straight up lied to my face. We have always stayed 1 night and on occasion call the desk to stay an additional night. Jessica informed me that they don't offer 1 night stays on the weekend that it has ALWAYS been a 2 night minimum. That is absolutely not true. Our most recent trip was in May for mothers day and that was never said nor was it ever said on any other booking before. I asked to speak to the owners because we have a good repor with them. She informed me they have a new General Manager. I said well maybe she changed the rules and Jessica did a rude sigh/giggle and said , " it's always been like that." I explained to her that she must be new because that has never been the case since we have stayed there and she just told me I was wrong. I asked her how it was working out working out doing a 2 night minimum over the weekend and she so rudely and condescendingly said "very well we're selling out every weekend." I told her that they just lost some loyal customers because of her and their new rules. What has happened to customer service and how can somebody be so blatantly rude in a customer service position? If they know any better they should get rid of her and hire someone else who can be accommodating and kind. Even if they changed the rules Somebody needs to have structure and kindness when you're dealing with customers. Jessica has none of that and treats the customers like they are stupid! I will stay at the Fairfield Marriott next door that's brand new from now on. I made a reservation to stay at this place based on the ratings on yelp. I do not understand the high ratings on yelp. Must be family of the owners rating this hotel. First off, when we tried to check in at 1:30 but the front desk clerk told us we could not check in until 3:30. So we took off trying to find a bathroom because after 4 hours of driving we needed to go. Because of the coronavirus, all the restaurants that were nearby were either closed down or did not allow non-customers to use their bathrooms. We headed right back to the hotel and asked him if we could at least use the bathroom that would be in our room. The front desk clerk again seemed hesitant but finally gave us keys and let us in our room. Hmm. Why did he tell us 10 minutes earlier that we could not check in until 3:30? Once inside the room, there was a musty smell everywhere. The bathroom sink had to burn marks on both sides of it. In addition the baseboards were filthy, dusty and dirty. As shown in the pictures the fan and light fixture in the bathroom was hanging off the ceiling hanging on by the wires. Also the mirror over the bathroom sink had a large crack. The bathtub was dirty but I think they were permanent stains. Another bad quality was the walls are super thin and I could hear the conversation of the room next-door the entire night. Lastly, the mattress was saggy and not comfortable. WILL NEVER STAY HERE AGAIN . read more

Such a cute little Inn. The room was nice and clean and really cute decor. Great bed and great shower! The office has coffee 24 hrs a day complementary but the room has a Keurig also in case you don't want to go out of your room. Great access to the ocean and restaurants. We were enjoying our stay until a rude front desk guy opened his big mouth. My family has stayed here before with no issues but this time around I am on a mother, daughter, grandmother trip and as we are winding down for the evening we went down to get some snacks. The guy asked what room we were in, we told him but then said we will be paying for the snacks no need to charge the room. He replies "with what food stamps?" I don't know what about us other than our skin color could have indicated we needed food stamps but this jackass thought this was hilarious. We were there 10/10 and 10/11 we had a Drs appt at UCSF and couldn't find a hotel in that area. Our room had an ocean view and it's super close to the beach. With the window open you can hear the ocean it's seriously amazing! The room was super clean and nicely decorated! The noise? There wasn't any! It's sooo QUIET we were able to sleep all night without noise..unless you leave the window open to hear the ocean. This has been one of my favorite hotels in quite a while. Front desk people were nice it was a great experience! We will come back when we have time to hang out on the beach! read more

The Hotel was very nice, and roomy. staff was very friendly and accommodating to our needs. We were close to good dining locations. We discovered an awesome wine bar down the street. We plan on returning soon to do some hiking and more dining. The only negative thing I can say about the hotel, is that we were on the second floor and the guest above were wearing shoes that sounded like clogs, so when they walked it was very loud and annoying. They stopped walking around about 10pm. But they started walking again about 3am. This is no fault of the hotel because they can't control what people wear. I would just suggest bring a pair of ear plugs if you're staying on a lower floor. We will definitely stay here again. read more

It is a favorite spot of ours for over five years. The recent updating makes it nicer then before by looks but staff has always been accommodating. After a frustrating day of missing a flight and being forced to stay the night in SF we happened upon this cute hotel. It is so clean and affordable. The staff was so friendly even though it was very late. It was obviously newly remodeled and was so clean and decorated very nice. The room was spacious and the bed was comfortable. We booked a room originally at another location. After reading the reviews, we choose to change locations. Glad we booked here. It was close to Nick's Restaurant/Lounge & Bar. The room was spacious and updated. The room was supposed to have an ocean view. The only area way we could see the ocean was out of one window and you had to lean into the window to see a small portion of the ocean. While the room was nice, the hallway "carpeting" could use some updating as it is stained and gross. The elevator flooring has a hole in it so they have it covered with an indoor/outdoor mat. Not the safest option. Ice machine did not work but the front office had bags of ice for guests. Parking is tight and limited. We had to park on the street but they gave us a pass so that our vehicle would not be towed. We will stay again but hope to be able to get a room with an actual view of the ocean. read more

This place is a nightmare to say the least, the problems all begin when we noticed our room didn't have a remote to watch the tv so we went to the office to ask for a new remote. They gave me one, went back to the room and it didn't work, went back to the office to let the staff person know, they came back to the room with me and tried to get it to work, it did not. Then they left for a while and came back to try again, it still did not work. We asked for a new room and they gave us the key, we went to check out that room and immediately noticed it was way smaller than the room we were in. We declined that room and asked if they had anything the same size as our room. They lied and said they didn't and if I wanted something else it would be an additional fee. I didn't want to pay more seeing as though I just paid 200$ for a room with no working tv. So we reluctantly accepted the smaller room, this room was quite cramped for a double queen room and the shower hardly works at all!!! Not to mention the WiFi is horrible and often disconnects you. Once I got home and reviewed my bank statements I see that I was charged over $50 more than what I was supposed to pay, I called to see what the charges were and they said that there was POOP on our bed and on towels and that we stole the bath mat when none of that is true. The "poop" was actually period blood, so if your a woman on her period don't stay here or you'll be charged more! I told her how disrespectful that assumption was and she told me that she can't help me and to call back when there's a manager!! I'm so upset, this place was our go to hotel for when we are staying in Pacifica but NOT ANYMORE!! We definitely are going to try out the newly remodeled holiday in next door!! read more

My husband and I have been to the inn at rockaway twice now. First time was a bottom room no view. But everything seemed brand new and very nice. This past weekend we stayed in an ocean view room and up there is a lot run down. But still no complaints about the room. Only complaint I have about the property is. The ice machine was broken. They did have Ice in the office for us. But it was a very small bag and one limit per room. We were there from Sunday till Tuesday and was only allow one small bag of ice while there. So of course we had to go out of our way to go buy ice at the store. I wish we were told this at check in. I give them a one star for that. But a five star for their house keepers. Great customer service. Front desk let us check into our room a few hours early which allowed us to transfer from one hotel to another. This helped extend our visit a few extra days. Everything in the room was broken and dirty. When we called to ask for a replacement tv remote we were told to provide our own batteries lol. Upon checking out I asked for a receipt and the old lady at the front desk started an argument with me and refused to give me a copy cause she said I got in when I check in.
