The mashed potatoes were flat out disgusting. They had a weird taste so I don't know how they were made or if they were old from the fridge. The clearly didn't use butter and milk to make it creamy and rich. The side of beans was in a little cup and tasted like they were from a can. No onion gravy that you normally find on this dish. My stomach was doing cartwheels last night and not feeling great this morning. My friend had beef stew and seriously it looked like all gravy. Not hearty at all. He said it was okay. My wife had salmon and she said it was average. Nothing remarkable about it. Too bad.

We came over to ski Tenney Mountain during one of the coldest days of the year. Below zero weather, wind, but the snow was pure fluff. And despite the slow lifts, the skiing was superb. Still, six runs in that temperature with a stiff wind took the energy out of me. That's when the Backcountry Bar and Grill came through with a superb Irish Coffee that allowed me to be back after thawing out, with new energy and desire to ski. We then came over here for an early Apre Ski. Five people had superb brews, superb Ultimate Grilled Cheese, awesome Chicken Sandwich. And a Backcountry Pulled Pork with an Apple bourbon barbecue sauce that had me licking my fingers. The bartender was the best I've seen in New England. We will be back because Tenney is one awesome ski mountain and because this wonderful venue makes it complete for customer experience.

The two female bartenders were just flawless. Fun, knowledgeable, and efficient. Their brews are superb, especially the Social Outcast NEIPA - one of the best ever tasted. I also tried their Dump Run, a Maple Brown Ale and their Cosmic Drift. Food wise, Sole Track rocks. Their menu even has Puerto Rican specialties with plátanos and the Arroz con Habichuelas, a bean and vegetable stew. Nowhere else in the North Country have I seen that.
