AC, raggedy... Bedside table... raggedy dusty. I haven't even looked at the shower yet.. dare I?
    Lisa G.

Just got here and already rating cuz geez businesses are really falling short these days. Didn't bother to dust? And what's up with this AC? I'm not gonna bother with it. Just hope the sheets are clean that's all I ask... the door has no weather stripping- I can see outside thru the door, $170 for 2 nights.

    Rusty metal Kleenex box holder!

I actually had SEVERAL good recommendations from coworkers about this place. This place SUCKS. I booked a room for 7 days and I am pretty sure it was the worst room they had. I am so disappointed that I paid for an absolutely terrible room for $500 for the week. The living area/bedroom area is not bad at all! Yes, there are some stains on the chairs and some rips in the sheets, but nothing that is a huge deal to me. The bathroom is a nightmare. The tub is soft in some parts when I take a shower and I think I may fall through the tub. The toilet seat is falling apart. The metal part that holds the Kleenex box is rusted. No hairdryer. And there is the cabinet that is missing a part and has suffered some water damage and is moldy. So disgusting. None of the towels feel or seem like they are clean. I also found a long black hair on my "clean" towel. :( I've been here 5 nights so far and have bug bites....bed bugs? Fleas? I don't know, but I am truly astonished a room like this was ever allowed to be rented. I can't wait til I am done with work. I may just go to Motel 6 to get away from this "gem." *eyeroll* PLEASE DO NOT STAY HERE. THIS PLACE IS NOT ANYWHWERE NEAR DECENT. PAY $85+ for a room in a hotel like Best Western. Don't skimp and think this is a good idea. It is not!

We checked in and then proceeded to check out. This was by far the most grotesque experience. Regardless of the amount one is paying, a customer should still feel clean. DO NOT STAY HERE!!! Here is why: There was something sticky on the table (looked like a jizz stain) There was a cigarette hole in the comforter The floorboard paneling under the sink did not exist The microwave and fridge were gross There was a stain in the bathtub (looked like Big Foot had showered there) The wallpaper was....Ewwww!

Chemical stains on the top no changed roll

First impression great hey it's cool for an $80 room on our last ends of our long road trip we've roughed it but this place was ok to me until we noticed the door didn't shut fully until it was pushed in hard. Also, the top lock of the door was busted no ice bucket in the room and here's the big one fucking discusting! The toliet paper has cleaning supplies on it and a big long black pubic hair sticking out. I can to the front desk and the little old bald man said he couldn't see the pics well what do I want a roll of toilet paper?! Wtf?!?! So unsanitary :( so rude and he said he has no ice buckets but he can give me a bag. I'm just ewww. So besides that the machines for ice are clean the indoor pool looks ice but due to covid there were no signs but it is closed bummer but eww idk if I'd swim in it after knowing this also there was 1 left over towel hanging and 1 towel n wash cloth folded on the counter. When I showered I looked up n there was black hair on the ceiling. I told the guy working here to put on gloves and change the to roll himself I wasn't going to do it.

I stayed here for a bit on my way to SoCal from SF. We were looking for budget hotels and my friend and I had pre-booked for a room with a king-sized bed. It was around $60 for both of us, and when we checked in the front desk let us switch to a room with 2 twin beds free of charge. in the morning there was free breakfast until 9:30, with bagels, trail mix, muffins, toast, juice, etc (no meat or eggs but thats ok at a budget place) overall, since i am used to LA and SF and hotels being really pricy, this was a steal

    Broken air conditioner
    Christina M.

Misleading online information led us to book this hotel for our one night stay. Old, outdated, and room was in disrepair from lack of upkeep. Air conditioner didn't work. There was an open space in the bathroom cabinetry where we assume where the refrigerator would've been. Toilet would run on its own, and leaked. The shower curtain was too long and the curtain rod was hung incorrectly so the curtain kept sliding away from the ends. Mattress was a spring one, so who knows how old it was. Would not recommend.

View outside my door. Never emptied during stay.

The woman at the front desk was very helpful and friendly, and everyone in the restaurant was also friendly. They accommodated my request for a particular room type even though I made a last minute reservation. The property is older and you can tell, and my room was a little dark, but it was comfortable and had a full size refrigerator, microwave and a La Z Boy chair. I honestly can't remember another hotel having one, and it was really nice to put my feet up after arriving. Parking was also convenient and close to the room. I enjoyed the complimentary happy hour drinks and ordered the fish and chips for about $17. They were tasty and cooked to order, although the fish seemed like a frozen, pre breaded product. The portion was small, with two pieces of fish, but the coleslaw was fresh and tasty. Considering the price and the two free drinks, I thought it was a good value. The bartender was very friendly. The breakfast was disappointing. The scrambled eggs were oily and the sausage was the mass produced type I don't care for. The sourdough toast was fine. I was glad breakfast was included because I would have sent it back if I had paid for it. The bistro coffee wasn't very good either, but the Keurig at the front desk was a better option. Overall, I had a quiet night and would stay here again. The property is older, but the friendly staff, convenient parking, room amenities and complimentary happy hour make it a good value.

Unpacked, went downstairs told the front girl what happened to me and she did attempt to write down what I said but instantly picked up the phone and asked me a few questions as she was on the phone. This threw me off because I wasn't sure if she was randomly pretending to pickup the phone or was answering a call and not saying anything but mouthing stuff to me. The phone never rang, unless she saw a massive light underneath hidden where no one can see except for her and thought the call was more important than my issue. The elevator was slow, but our halls were quiet. I felt like we were the only ones staying in our building and maybe we were. lol The breakfast room wasn't too far a walk, as it was in the same building near the pool. You need a key to get in there which I liked! Sometimes you don't want random people eating for free you know. Breakfast was a fully breakfast, and the lady kept everything clean and coming out. However, she was slow to refill and the eggs and bacon were a little oddly cooked. Like some of the thinnest bacon I've ever seen and the eggs were kind of rubbery. She was kind of chaotic in the check in process, flipping through papers, and asking redundant questions about the card I put in file. She then put us in a dirty room and when we came back to get the room changed, instead of being apologetic, she was seemingly annoyed. Whatever, not a huge deal since we got put in a different room. Then after I got home from my trip, I realized I was double charged. I called the hotel and the gentleman I spoke to said it should be resolved, which I trusted. Fast forward to today, I have family staying at this hotel, so I drove up to visit them. I decided to check my bank statement and sure enough, the double charge is still on my bank statement. Cindy, the receptionist at the front, who was the same one who assisted me in April, was incredibly rude and again, acted bothered when I asked if she could help me look into this. I began to try to explain the situation to her and instantly she said "I can't do refunds," and then told me to write down my name, phone number, and email, because her manager was the only one who could help me. When I asked her when I should expect to hear back, she was very snarky with her response, stating she didn't know her managers schedule. On top of that, she roomed one of my family members in a dirty room, and they had to come to the front desk to ask to be put in a clean room... Working in hospitality, I'm sure has its challenges, but her consistent attitude toward people and her inability to efficiently manage rooming guests in clean rooms, which should be the absolute bare minimum expectation, should really be addressed. Hopeful that the manager will resolve their error in double charging me in April and address the staffs behavior to improve future guest experiences.

Unfortunately, the condition of the room was far from what I expected. To start with the positives, both the evening and morning front desk associates were friendly and welcoming, which I appreciated. However, that was where the good experience ended. The room itself was in very poor condition. The lampshades were visibly dirty, and one even appeared to have what looked like a speck of blood on it. There was a thick layer of dust--about an inch--on the back side of the TV, which made it clear that the room hadn't been properly cleaned in quite some time. One of the "clean" towels had visible skid marks on it, which was honestly shocking and unacceptable. It didn't stop there--there was mold above the door and also on the bathroom wall. Then, upon checking out in the morning, I noticed a tissue hanging from the ceiling in the shower. That was the final straw. I did inform the front desk associate when I checked out, but I'm still stunned at the overall state of the room. This goes beyond a simple oversight--it reflects a serious lack of upkeep and attention to cleanliness. I hope Red Roof Inn takes a closer look at this location and invests in the maintenance and sanitation it clearly needs. Guests should not have to question basic cleanliness when staying at a hotel.

We booked here anyway last minute due to unavailability elsewhere. Our options were this motel, a campsite with no toilet or sleeping in the car. Regardless we booked on a Sat for $150 total. We arrived in late evening and were greeted by Jacob who was friendly, pleasant and welcoming. Check in was quick and seamless. We arrived to a first floor double room. Because of covid we wiped down all the surfaces and to my very pleasant surprise the wipes were just as white after. I was calmed. There a were couple of aesthethic things...but whatever its a 1 star hotel! The dryer was gone, there was one missing art frame (the had art frames!!!) and there were three wall repairs that were visible... but they were fixed and while the pain didnt quite match, it was clear an effort was made (and would you paint an entire room just for the pain to match or fix it until you're able to do it if you were running a business???!!....... Exactly!). The bed was comfortable although too soft and likely needs to be flipped or rotated. I'm used to my tempur pedic . There was a bit of a slight smell to the room, but it was more like ciagrette than anything...if was mild but noticeable... if it's something that would bother you bring febreeze or an air freshener. We noticed it and forgot about it even though we are sensitive to "scents." The room came with a 32inch (?) TV with dish cable and were able to watch some of our favorite shows including the Golden Girls! Lol...(yes even my millennial generation loves the golden girls!). We ended up booking a 2nd night for half the price for a single queen room. Which had a single queen, a nice small table with two nice faux leather chairs, and a TV that in addition to DISH cable came with Roku..but Internet was slower than I'm used to (I'm used to the fastest). We had difficulty with getting to regular TV because the previous patrons disconnected the cable HDMI. We couldn't figure it out so we called the front desk and Jacob was there within 2 minutes (yes!! 2 minutes, I don't even get this at a 5 start hotel!), he quickly set it all back up for us and even quickly showed us how to use both cable and Roku controllers. What exceptional service!!! This was room had no missing art frames had less patron damage than the first and had upgraded mini fridge. Both rooms came equipped with microwave, iron and ironing board, hangers in an open closet, a mini fridge, free wifi, free cable, and free Roku (access to Netflix, Hulu, Showtime in the 2nd room!) AND I especially loved the recycling containers!!! Both nights we woke up rested, checkout was the easiest! Leave the key and lock the door. For this 1 star hotel, just 17 miles from Solvang, with friendly and fast service it deserves more than a 5 star review. I'm glad now I know Lompoc for more than Mossimo being in its federal prison for the college scandal....lol. We'll be coming back!

I have chronic back problems and I did not wake up with a sore back. That says a lot. The bathroom has standard linens, soap and shampoo. Shower head is high enough that you don't have to limbo to get your hair wet. Tile grout is clean and shower rod is secured. Mechanically sound! For me, this was a good business choice. I always appreciate a complimentary breakfast. This is not that place. It is basic but, for the price, it is worth it.
