After returning from the beach with my sons, neither my hotel entrance key nor my room key worked. I went to the front desk, but no one was there. I rang the bell multiple times after seeing the employee go into the back. I was in the middle of an asthma attack and needed to get into my room to access my medication. After waiting with no response, I knocked on the employee's door because I urgently needed help. Instead of simply assisting me, I was treated with suspicion, as if I didn't belong there, rather than as a registered guest trying to get back into my room during a medical emergency. It was humiliating and completely unnecessary. A malfunctioning key card can happen. What shouldn't happen is leaving the front desk unattended and responding to a guest in obvious distress with distrust instead of compassion. I hope management takes this seriously and improves both customer service and front desk coverage. read more

Experienced the worst stay at the motel. First tv didn't work and took over an hour to get front desk to figure it out. Then found bedbugs everywhere. Live, dead, carcasses, eggs larva. Everywhere in the room. Paint peeling off the toilet set where you sit on! Mentioned the bedbugs to front desk and the rude lady couldn't care less! She was argumentative and being rude. The pool was closed due to "Covid", stains all over carpet, broken window, immediately got itchy from the bedsheets, nausea inducing smell, overall sketchy feel. Absolute scam. We were extremely disappointed with our experience, due to the number of issues which were frankly cases of false advertising. We left early on Saturday, drove all the way from Pasadena to Lompoc, all in hopes of enjoying an evening out, followed by some time in the pool, so heavily featured on their website and every website advertising the inn. We chose this hotel specifically because of the pool. After first being completely unable to reach anyone by phone (we tried three or four times), we were very unapologetically told upon arrival that the pool was closed (because Covid... right). The pool was quite evidently under some kind of construction, so this falsehood only added insult to injury. In the morning, after getting excited about the Breakfast room with a sign that indicated at what time breakfast would be served in the morning, we discovered that that room too was inexplicably locked to guests, with no services. This made for a bitter morning after an upsetting night. Again, their clerk offered no apology and treated us rudely and dismissively in the matter. Not worth the low price. read more

Terrible Terrible service. The staff and manager refused to honor my reservation for an ADA room due to administrative issues with processing my check-in. Despite the room being paid for in advance, they denied me service After I advocated kindly for myself. The manger said that I could take my business elsewhere and I would be refunded. I had to find a hotel nearby twice the cost. That was disappointing to see a business that lacks cultural competence and is clearly unprepared to handle basic operational challenges. Instead of accommodating a disabled guest, they chose to send me away at 10:00 pm to find another room. One would expect a manager to show professionalism and courtesy when it comes to meeting customer needs, but that was not the case here. Well, maintenance guy is out and front desk girl wanted to check the room. OH, btw, they want everyone out of the room before coming in. My wife and kid seems to be a real threat for her. Anyway, she came in, checked the room and said AC is "blowing" cold. Seems like a joke initially. But no. Seems like she is serious. She also mentioned that there is no guarantee that A/C should be working. That is not a part of their advt. Also, they cannot change my room even though the "inn" seems to be much empty. After realizing there is no use talking to her, I requested for her superior. After initially saying she is not available and after much insisting, she seems to be in the way. She came in and not even a glance at me and not willing to check room, she said I am mis-behaving with her employee. She saw that in some hidden camera there it seems! She then said you should check out now and she is willing to refund me. I have 5 mins to go to room and return with the room cards and my stuff out. I had no option and is tired of this non-sense by now and obliged. I realized complaining to cops may not be of any use for me anyway. Found another inn near by which had great customer service, good clean rooms with TV with nice channels and coffee at room. Yeah it was slightly higher than "Inn of Lompoc" but by now, I don't even care any more. Conclusion: So, long story short, Inn of Lompoc is a run down inn with horrible rooms and customer service. I actually had SEVERAL good recommendations from coworkers about this place. This place SUCKS. I booked a room for 7 days and I am pretty sure it was the worst room they had. I am so disappointed that I paid for an absolutely terrible room for $500 for the week. The living area/bedroom area is not bad at all! Yes, there are some stains on the chairs and some rips in the sheets, but nothing that is a huge deal to me. The bathroom is a nightmare. The tub is soft in some parts when I take a shower and I think I may fall through the tub. The toilet seat is falling apart. The metal part that holds the Kleenex box is rusted. No hairdryer. And there is the cabinet that is missing a part and has suffered some water damage and is moldy. So disgusting. None of the towels feel or seem like they are clean. I also found a long black hair on my "clean" towel. :( I've been here 5 nights so far and have bug bites....bed bugs? Fleas? I don't know, but I am truly astonished a room like this was ever allowed to be rented. I can't wait til I am done with work. This hotel is horrible! It is used like hosting workers. I don't have anything against workers but the rooms are used to host 5 people at the same time . My room was next to a room with 2 bunk beds and two small beds in one room. There were workers everywhere just sitting there at night. A lot of trucks parked there. And they sleep with the door open , so they were out an in all night , a lot f noise every where! It was scary! Never again!! All the rooms on the first floor are used for workers and they are allowing 5 people per room with bunk beds . Not family friendly place to stay. read more

First impression great hey it's cool for an $80 room on our last ends of our long road trip we've roughed it but this place was ok to me until we noticed the door didn't shut fully until it was pushed in hard. Also, the top lock of the door was busted no ice bucket in the room and here's the big one fucking discusting! The toliet paper has cleaning supplies on it and a big long black pubic hair sticking out. Beware, SCAM ARTIST: My first time in Lompoc and I got robbed by a substandard motel. This Motel had buses upon buses of seasonal farm workers filing in the rooms. All men that kept waving as i was outside smoking. (kinda weird) My room had a God awful smell. Later discovered it was from a broken cabinet in the toilet area. The floor was stained behind the toilet. I slept in my sleeping bag, and our family took showers in shower shoes because the tub was stained. But the worst was they said "I damaged a chair with some sort of black item". They charged my credit card and told me to never come there again. I stayed here for a bit on my way to SoCal from SF. We were looking for budget hotels and my friend and I had pre-booked for a room with a king-sized bed. It was around $60 for both of us, and when we checked in the front desk let us switch to a room with 2 twin beds free of charge. in the morning there was free breakfast until 9:30, with bagels, trail mix, muffins, toast, juice, etc (no meat or eggs but thats ok at a budget place) overall, since i am used to LA and SF and hotels being really pricy, this was a steal read more

Misleading online information led us to book this hotel for our one night stay. Old, outdated, and room was in disrepair from lack of upkeep. Air conditioner didn't work. There was an open space in the bathroom cabinetry where we assume where the refrigerator would've been. Toilet would run on its own, and leaked. The shower curtain was too long and the curtain rod was hung incorrectly so the curtain kept sliding away from the ends. Mattress was a spring one, so who knows how old it was. Worst stay ever! The place was filthy. Roaches in the bathroom, beds are broken down, broken door knobs, shower did not work at all, one little light in the room, free wi-fi did not work, trash can outside my room and impeding fire exit stairs had not been emptied in who knows how long! Phone rang all night with no one on the other end. Air conditioner didn't work either! Every time I left the room I had to get my key reprogrammed. Staff smoke right in front of the office. TV was old and terrible picture. I'm so disappointed! This place has really gone downhill. I hope Hotel.com removes Lompoc Inn from their list. Since Lompoc Inn would not give me my money back, I will try to contact Mr. Patel who I was told is the owner. My wife and I did a last minute trip for the Presidents' Day long weekend. Unfortunately every single hotel from San Diego to Bakersfield was booked, except for this one. That should have been the first clue. But my wife called anyway to book the room and said the woman she talked to was very nice so that gave us some false confidence. That evening when we entered the hotel, still optimistic, we were further encouraged by the friendly night desk person named Jesse. He informed us of the correct pronunciation for Lompoc (lahm-poke - if you were wondering) and gave us our room keys. As we ascended the staircase and walked down the dingy hallway to our room, we were in relatively good spirits. This proved to be the high point of our experience at this hotel. Entering the room, we were greeted with the musty smell that made us wonder if the room had been aired out since before the early 2000's. It was a slightly chilly evening so I immediately proceeded to the window mounted hvac unit and discovered that it was broken. This would not be a first. We collapsed on the bed, at this point I was only moderately surprised to discover that the mattress was about as comfortable as a large sack of gravel. At this point I was regretting not inspecting the room for bed bugs. Much to our surprise there was actually a microwave AND a small mini-fridge in the bathroom. Unfortunately the brilliant minds behind the installation of said fridge neglected to ensure that the bathroom door was still close-able. Adding insult to proverbial injury, we quickly discovered that this large door stopper did not even fulfill its primary function as a refrigerator. At this point the fact that the shower spouted hot water was quite the pleasant surprise. We spent about 10 minutes searching for the remote control to the 19" CRT TV that was included in our $150-a-night room only to give up and resign ourselves to watching a hilarious episode of King of the Hill. After we grew tired of getting up and walking to the tv to change the channel, we drew back the covers and tried to get comfortable in the sheets that, much to our chagrin, seemed to be woven from recycled burlap sacks. This was probably the worst part of the night for me, unable to sleep due to the trifecta of the hard, lumpy mattress, rough, pilly sheets, and polyester blanket that was either way too hot with it on or (due to the lack of climate control) way too cold. Unfortunately the low point for my wife did not arrive until morning after attempting to use the hair dryer and having it expel an acrid plume of smoke. In a gallant attempt to be helpful and expedite the process of obtaining a replacement I removed the broken hair dryer and brought it to the desk downstairs. Jesse, the night shift desk clerk, was still there but he was occupied with another unhappy guest. When it was my turn, he was rather agitated and scolded me for removing the broken dryer and firmly stated that there were no replacements. About 15 minutes after I had returned to the room, a custodian named Gabriel handed my wife a functioning hair dryer. This was easily the worst hotel experience I have ever had. It's very clear that the management does not give two shots about keeping this place even moderately in order. If you have a choice between staying here or sleeping in your car, even if your car is an old shopping cart, you're better off in the car. read more

Cons: beds were hard as rocks. Thought about just sleeping on the floor. Then the lever to change the temperature gauge on the shower didn't work (and the pressure could best be described as a light trinkle.) So we switched rooms. We also asked for more towels as there were only two towels for two people (Ladies: no explanation needed. Gentlemen: ladies need one towel for our hair and one for our body. So two people means four towels.). How is a hotel out of towels? There is a laundry room right there, throw a couple in and have them ready in an hour. Also, spa was broken. The sort of broken where it doesn't seem like they're going to fix it. Pool was under no interpretation "heated." I dropped an ice cube in the pool. It took five minutes to melt. Pros: rooms were clean. AC worked well. Breakfast was nice. Conclusion: Don't stay. Stay cheaper or stay nicer. Moderation is the devil here. If you want to save money, go somewhere cheaper. We paid $75 plus tax. I'm pretty sure motel six would have been cheaper. Or cough up 15 bucks for a better place. Your back will thank you. read more

My wife and I were in Lompoc for our friends retirement from the AF. We had a change in plans and arrived a day early so we needed a room for 1 night just a place to sleep. When I checked in they made me sign a no smoking clause for our non smoking room. When we got to our room it was dirty, smelled of old smoke, the curtains were tore, towel rack in bathroom torn off the wall. In general a totally disgusting room if I had not been so tired from driving 400 miles I would have left but it was just one night. Even if you need a room in an absolute emergency go else where there are better places for the same price. I regret being a cheapskate and my wife will not let me forget it. Got the room for the night, went to go watch the rocket launch. Was canceled, we were staying anyway. Found this spot. We did just stay for the night so no issues. This is an inexpensive motel and as such, shouldn't have as high standards measured against it. Me and my husband decided to get out of town for the weekend at the last minute and didn't have many options available. We took a chance and booked a room. We were pleasantly surprised at how nice the accommodations were. The place is a bit dilapidated from the outside but the room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. Even better, the room was quiet. The same can't be said about most high-end hotels I been to in the last few years. The owners are obviously trying to offer some nice value adds by having a free happy hour and a free breakfast buffet. The wifi worked great for us and there weren't any annoying welcome screens to get past every time you connected. This is a great value motel. read more

This is the worst place I've stayed at in decades (at least), if not ever. I was in town for a cycling event and booked at the last minute. It used to be a Days Inn, but the current owners appear to be uninterested in investing in the property. Carpets and furniture are old and worn. Phone was not plugged in. Pillows are sacks of foam pieces. I asked about a different pillow but was told they are all like that. The first night, I tried the AC, but it was so loud I turned it off. I asked about it late the second night (after a long, grueling ride in the heat), but was told the AC "doesn't work" in that room. They offered to move me, but at that point I deferred - was leaving in the morning anyway. The shower had mold around all the edges and a small hole in the shower wall. The wallpaper was peeling at the edges. The baseboard under the fridge was off and sitting on the floor. The fridge looked like it had never been defrosted. The tissue box had no cover, so the box just fell on the floor when I took a tissue. The toilet bowl had nasty brown stains. Finally, while it was a no-smoking room, there were butts all around the door entry. A trip advisor reviewer summed it up perfectly: "I would rather stay in my car then stay another night at Inn of Lompoc!!!" I wish I had seen it before I booked. Don't waste your money here. Book somewhere else. The first room reeked of cigarettes. So, we switched to another room. The second room also smelled like cigarettes but, not as strong. Fortunately, I had lysol to spray the room. The bathroom was a disaster. Mold around the ceiling and shower stall. The sink was mounted on a base of wood and glue was exposed. Such a banged up job. The sink was loose. Ready to fall off. The shower knob was broken. Would not turn from hot cold. The wall paper was falling apart. The complimentary toiletries are a joke. All was given was 1 bar soap, shampoo, and lotion. The microwave still had crumbs from the previous guest. I remember when this hotel was the Days Inn. I used to stay here with my family. The new owner needs to get their shit together. The Quality of care of the hotel is now turned into a dump. The only positive thing I can say are that the person at the front desk was polite.
