3.5 stars Found myself in Lompoc one summer day and overall the stay wasn't bad! Location/ price - lots of food options nearby and for the price point, it isn't bad. Loved all the amenities but couldn't use it all. 1) Daily happy hour with some random crackers/ veggies/ pretzels as snacks along with 2 drink tickets 2) complimentary breakfast 3) swimming pool/ jacuzzi. The hotel had lots of space / 2 TVs, a living space area/ wet bar/ refrigerator/ microwave. (-): -Breakfast items ran out 30+ min before they ended so they didn't bother to refill. Many people were lifting up metal covers to find the pancakes were gone. -some parts of the parking lot was off to the side / to the back. Didn't feel safe parking the car off to the side as it is sort of connected to a nearby shopping center but at least the hotel inside felt safe. Overall I would stay again.

This is probably one of the few Embassy Suites I've stayed where the atrium and the pool are outdoors; and that fact is probably one of the reasons why I would come back - it makes for a QUIET stay without the noise of other guests amplified throughout the entire property (because it ISN'T enclosed). Second reason, LOCATION is in the center of the city where restaurants and major retailers are basically within walking distance. We saw supermarkets nearby as well as a lot of fast food and other local restaurants for a handful of dining options. Ross was also nearby - so, literally any essentials you might need during a short (or long trip) are within reach. SOLVANG, which was the purpose of our stay here, is 20 mins away for what was a very short and stress free drive. Our room was IMPRESSIVELY CLEAN, smelled nice and looked to be recently updated. A little smaller than the usual Embassy Suite rooms we've seen but we didn't mind it. It was a 2 room suite with your standard kitchenette (with fridge and microwave), a desk, living area and a separate bedroom. It was perfectly sufficient! And, as with all Embassy Suite properties - free breakfast is available between 7am to 10am with an omelette station.

    Pool smells like sewer!

When we checked in, it was time for happy hour!! Woo hoo! The adults had margaritas and the kids had Shirley Temples! We sat in a lovely courtyard outside. The room was great! It had a living area and a bedroom area. It was nice that the kids had a separate sleeping area. The couch had a pull-out bed, but the kids complained that it was uncomfortable. We were fine with the bed in the bedroom. Unfortunately, the bathroom sink area smelled like a sewer every time we washed our hands. I'm glad we couldn't smell it when we were in bed! The complimentary breakfast was wonderful. There was a cook that served a fresh omelet. There were vegetable and meat choices, and I chose all the veggies and sausage. It was delicious! There were many other options - scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, cereal, different kinds of pastries, fruits, etc. There were so many choices, but I was satisfied with my omelet. The kids used the swimming pool before we checked out. The pool was too cold for them, so they were in the hot tub most of the time. The adults hung out and played with a friendly kitty who sat on my lap. I think the kitty lives in the hotel, I'm not sure. I enjoyed its company very much.

Another cheerful visit... Some Christmas decorations in the lobby... Nothing to complain about... I'd rate it. Another easy four stars but a Santa mailbox in the lobby

I am lodged here to attend a week-long training course in Lompoc California and this has been one of the best hotel accommodations I have ever experienced. The place is clean and orderly, the staff is friendly, and the few problems that were brought to management's attention were quickly resolved. Upon my arrival on Monday morning, I advised guest services the fridge in my room was not cooling low enough to keep frozen items from spoiling. When I returned to my room that day from training, I found they brought a small freezer to keep in my room during my stay. Last night at about midnight, I called the front desk to complain about a neighboring guest talking loudly and banging crap around in the room which was keeping me awake. They resolved this by sending security to contact him and calling his room to warn him to keep the noise down. I didn't hear a peep from the neighbor the rest of the night. The best part about this place is the mobile foot presence of security to deter and keep the bums away at night--and, breakfast. The food here in the morning and is delicious. Coming to the diner was the best way to kick off my day. There is a large variety of breakfast items to pick from and my favorite is the egg/omelet station where the friendly cooks and chefs make your eggs to order. Each of the chefs and cooks that I have encountered has been pleasant and cheerful. The afternoon chef even makes exquisite tasty special off-menu dishes. I still have a few more days before I have to check out and leave, but staying at Embassy Suites has been one of the best parts of my trip.

I took my Grandma on the best trip ever. She hadn't been to the beach in decades!!!! So I had to show her what's up, we stayed in this lovely hotel room 306. The hotel allows door dash & offers 2 complimentary drinks per night. Twila (hope I spelled that right) was an absolute doll, the best bartender in the HISTORY!! She put me on the kamikaze better than a mai tai, let me tell you. Well grandmuhmuh stubbed her toe on her cane and was pretty down bad so huge shout out for the front desk letting me borrow the wheel chair real quick. We hope to be back next year

Yes; this is a dog friendly hotel! The pet fee is $75.

Do this location have a bbq grill?

No. They serve a decent breakfast and if a cook is available they have a restaurant in the evening that has a small selection of food. Would be wonderful if they had a bbq grill for guests to use. Several of the other hotels in the area have bbq… Read more

I loved how the bigger rooms/suites were in a separate building. I loved how conveniently assigned our room was to the doors/elevator. I know hotels tend to place families near them. The elevator was slow, but our halls were quiet. I felt like we were the only ones staying in our building and maybe we were. lol The breakfast room wasn't too far a walk, as it was in the same building near the pool. You need a key to get in there which I liked! Sometimes you don't want random people eating for free you know. Breakfast was a fully breakfast, and the lady kept everything clean and coming out. However, she was slow to refill and the eggs and bacon were a little oddly cooked. Like some of the thinnest bacon I've ever seen and the eggs were kind of rubbery. I did like the blueberry waffle mix though. And the fountain drinks were nasty! Checkin was smooth and the older black lady who helped us is super helpful and nice! They had the lobby festively decorated too for the holidays! Price was great for the sized room we have. Had a kitchenette, two bedrooms with tvs, two full baths, and another tv couch space next to the kitchenette. Rooms were decently cleaned, but the carpet was old and sunken in. Next to the dmv which I found odd, but wasn't too far from solvang which was the only reason we were in town!

Unfortunately, the condition of the room was far from what I expected. To start with the positives, both the evening and morning front desk associates were friendly and welcoming, which I appreciated. However, that was where the good experience ended. The room itself was in very poor condition. The lampshades were visibly dirty, and one even appeared to have what looked like a speck of blood on it. There was a thick layer of dust--about an inch--on the back side of the TV, which made it clear that the room hadn't been properly cleaned in quite some time. One of the "clean" towels had visible skid marks on it, which was honestly shocking and unacceptable. It didn't stop there--there was mold above the door and also on the bathroom wall. Then, upon checking out in the morning, I noticed a tissue hanging from the ceiling in the shower. That was the final straw. I did inform the front desk associate when I checked out, but I'm still stunned at the overall state of the room. This goes beyond a simple oversight--it reflects a serious lack of upkeep and attention to cleanliness. I hope Red Roof Inn takes a closer look at this location and invests in the maintenance and sanitation it clearly needs. Guests should not have to question basic cleanliness when staying at a hotel.

In the morning it was so cold in the room that I was forced to check out 3 hours early with no shower. The front desk associate was very apologetic and said she would let the manager know. She noted that several heaters had been repaired recently, including that one. When we spoke on the phone the next day, she confirmed it wasn't working and had spoken to housekeeping about the missing soap and shampoo. When I finally spoke to the manager (Jacob), he said he would have to test it and call me back, then said it was working just fine and he could give me a 20% discount on my next stay. We stayed at this one star motel....Boy were we pleasantly surprised…read more So first of all....its a one star hotel. We were nervous because we read all the bad reviews. We booked here anyway last minute due to unavailability elsewhere. Our options were this motel, a campsite with no toilet or sleeping in the car. Regardless we booked on a Sat for $150 total. We arrived in late evening and were greeted by Jacob who was friendly, pleasant and welcoming. Check in was quick and seamless. We arrived to a first floor double room. Because of covid we wiped down all the surfaces and to my very pleasant surprise the wipes were just as white after. I was calmed. There a were couple of aesthethic things...but whatever its a 1 star hotel! The dryer was gone, there was one missing art frame (the had art frames!!!) and there were three wall repairs that were visible... but they were fixed and while the pain didnt quite match, it was clear an effort was made (and would you paint an entire room just for the pain to match or fix it until you're able to do it if you were running a business???!!....... Exactly!). The bed was comfortable although too soft and likely needs to be flipped or rotated. I'm used to my tempur pedic . There was a bit of a slight smell to the room, but it was more like ciagrette than anything...if was mild but noticeable... if it's something that would bother you bring febreeze or an air freshener. We noticed it and forgot about it even though we are sensitive to "scents." The room came with a 32inch (?) TV with dish cable and were able to watch some of our favorite shows including the Golden Girls! Lol...(yes even my millennial generation loves the golden girls!). We ended up booking a 2nd night for half the price for a single queen room. Which had a single queen, a nice small table with two nice faux leather chairs, and a TV that in addition to DISH cable came with Roku..but Internet was slower than I'm used to (I'm used to the fastest). We had difficulty with getting to regular TV because the previous patrons disconnected the cable HDMI. We couldn't figure it out so we called the front desk and Jacob was there within 2 minutes (yes!! 2 minutes, I don't even get this at a 5 start hotel!), he quickly set it all back up for us and even quickly showed us how to use both cable and Roku controllers. What exceptional service!!! This was room had no missing art frames had less patron damage than the first and had upgraded mini fridge. Both rooms came equipped with microwave, iron and ironing board, hangers in an open closet, a mini fridge, free wifi, free cable, and free Roku (access to Netflix, Hulu, Showtime in the 2nd room!) AND I especially loved the recycling containers!!! Both nights we woke up rested, checkout was the easiest! Leave the key and lock the door. For this 1 star hotel, just 17 miles from Solvang, with friendly and fast service it deserves more than a 5 star review. I'm glad now I know Lompoc for more than Mossimo being in its federal prison for the college scandal....lol. We'll be coming back!
