Motel 6 is my default when traveling solo as I appreciate a basic, clean, affordable room. However, the room was disgusting. Worst Motel 6 I have ever stayed in. Hair in the tub. Black mold all along the window. Pink mold all along the inside of the tub, and black mold at the outside. Sink would barely drain. Plumbing was so loud it woke me up at 11:45pm. Night manager literally said to me "It's Motel 6. What do you expect?" No hot water the next morning. It was a place to sleep for the night. Sheets were dirty, room was dirty. Grass in the courtyard area had piles of dog feces. No WiFi in our room, which we later found out some rooms can't access WiFi. But there is a laundry. And walking distance to a Habit Burger. I went to get a friend who stayed one night in one of the wheelchair accessible rooms. 1st I had to look for a dropped item under the bed, it was full of dirt, dust and pieces of trash. If you are going to have vinyl wood look floors you have to clean the floors really well. 2nd the shower was a nice walk in or roll in with a seat, not a transfer shower chair but acceptable stool. The shower head was adjustable however, the shower head was left at the top of the bar and therefore would be unreachable to a wheelchair bound person, rendering the shower useless. 3rd the bathroom tiles were filthy, with mold on the tiles in the shower area but dirty all throughout the bathroom. read more

AKA The Bed Bug Inn..... It's obvious by the amount of dirt and grime in the rooms that they definitely do not check for bed bugs regularly, if at all. I do not fault the housekeeping staff, as I'm sure they are expected to clean way more rooms than can reasonably be expected each shift. I don't understand how it isn't a priority for the management to address such a serious issue. Regardless of the cost to have regular inspections and treatment of every room in that property, it should be done. We checked our belongings thoroughly after seeing two bed bugs crawling across the bed, looking for their blood meal. We were discreet in informing the staff, actually bringing the bugs in a cup to the office. The reaction was, basically NO reaction. They almost appeared as if they thought we were trying to scam them somehow. No apology, no offer to refund the room cost.....nothing. The nightmare of taking home some hitchhiker bed bugs is no joke. The only priority for this place is having every room booked, every night. I suggest anyone staying here lift the mattress, check the room thoroughly for any signs of bed bugs. It only takes one pregnant hitchhiker, or a few hop in your bag to get the party started. read more

Only if you absolutely have to. I travel for work and I'm sometimes on a tight budget so there are no other options . Are the rooms clean sometimes? One time I went to a room and the fridge was full of a whole bunch of half drunk beers. And I don't think the sheets have been changed. There was also some cigarette ash on the sink also a lot of the rooms seem like they have broken locks inside. Mostly, it's hotel for people to stay at long-term it seems . I'm always careful about walking outside because I'm afraid I might step on some needles, I always try to park my car by the light and always let somebody know when I'm going to my car. Last time I stayed here the bedsheets had this weird crust on them , I believe it was detergent but was not sure , Honestly, I was so tired. I put a towel over it and slept on the other side. Last time I requested new sheets for the room it took at least in hour, which is a really long time to wait for some thing when it's late at night and all you want to do is sleep. read more

Motel 6 Starting in July I had room upstairs I needed clean blankets and I waited a week and never received clean blankets the room was dirty I had to clean it my self. When I came back to motel 6 I got room 170 I had to move to 158 because that room flooded in the bathroom and this room was much worse. Friday 10-3-2025 my toilet broke and they didn't fix until 10-07-25 I had to deal with these black little flies coming from the drain since I've been in this room. 10-08-25 my bathroom flooded from the shower they want to move me rooms but I have to be out on Friday they don't want to work with me. The window doesn't open it closed with the a nail and foam. The heater not the phone work plus the WiFi doesn't work. I've always paid my rooms and cleaned them and provided my own towels and toilet paper never once have I complained and the minute I needed more time to pay it was a direct no from the manager. And I went to talk to manger 3 times about my current situation. read more

Motel 6 in Lompoc CA Parking lot by rooms full of trash. The floors were slippery in the whole room, room smelled like heavy bleach....the shower/bathtub is rusted near the front of tub. Constant dripping coming and running out of spout (see pics)and no hot water at all (that wasn't working either) (very cold water only) and the shower head did not work. Not able to take a shower at all. Only one ice machine there for the whole complex and that wasn't working either and it looked gross. The individual staff there look stress probably from all the complaints they are getting from customers. This Motel 6 needs a lot of work!!! Very disappointed. Terrible experience. Lesson learned. Rooms smell like cigarettes. Crack heads in the parking lot.. the whole place just feels sketchy in general. When I first arrived two teenage kids were throwing knives at a tree. The room we got was difficult to get into.. We ended up having to switch rooms after the terrible cigarette smell when we finally got inside. The next room was only just slightly better. We ended up buying disinfectants and deodorizer along with some fresh sheets. The lock looked as if someone had tried to break in already, and the windows have zero protection if they are open.. literally someone could just reach in. The windows have locks that work only if they are fully closed. When windows are opened they have some dinky window stopper that doesn't work. I don't recommend leaving it open. Dude at the front seemed chill. Our rooms had zero soap. First room had some crumbs in the corner of the room and a green stain and the bed. (we didn't take as close a look at the second room lol.) We left the bed as is and slept with our new sheets on top. Lompoc in general seemed kinda ghetto. Only stay here if necessary.. we were trying to save some money and visit solvang. I regret skimping on the hotel prices. Thankful we only stayed one night. Solvang and the rest of our trip was nice though. Glad this was the only thing to hate about the trip! I reserved a room almost 2 wks in advance when I went to check in manager said the room wasn't ready I came back a few hrs later, they over booked so our room was gone. they accommodated and gave us two rooms each w/ 1 bed. One of our rooms the heater did not work, it smelled like smoke BAD. The tub was dirty, and the floors were slippery and dirty. The smoke detector was off the ceiling. We had to go to the nearest Walmart to by freshener it did not help and Our second room had make up on one of the pillow cases. Oh and the shower you're either going to boil or freezing. read more

I don't have high expectations staying at Motel 6 because it's a simple basic motel, the staff at the front desk was very pleasant and patient and she made the whole experience of being exhausted and confused so much less. About the room: RM 132 Basically, the bed seems aged, shower and bathroom has tons of water damage, (which can cause black mold if you leave it alone too long) and the fact that that was 1 towel and no shampoo or conditioner we booked a room for two adults and our experience could have been more pleasant, I'm not going to say I wouldn't recommend this spot just because of water damage etc but I will say attention to details will resolve things like this, hoping for improvement in the future. read more

I am sitting in my room waiting 45 minutes for hot water. The maintenance guy came once, fixed it, left, and the water immediately got cold again. I saw a dead roach on the wall, a live roach in the bathroom. The bed is rock hard so no sleep. There have been several people talking to themselves in the parking lot, leaving things in the road for people to run over, and one person was screaming. This is the worst Motel 6 I have ever stayed in. Maybe it's my fault for wanting to save $60 dollars but if you plan to go to Solvang, just spend the money and stay at the Buellton Motel 6. read more

I have stayed here before, the place is soso. For $72, I expect the basics. Well, the key card didn't work. So instead of fixing the issue, he moves us to another room, which was tough ,as I just had surgery. So room #2. Key card didn't work again. The clerk thinks it's ME keeping the key near my phone. I am a Hotel manager 43 years for the biggest resort in California. I am well aware how to use a key card. He moves us yet a 3rd time. Ok, we get in the room, it's SMOKEY AND DIRTY. My GF didn't want to go through that a 4th time so she spent 1hour and 15 minutes cleaning the room. On top of that ,the TV did not work, it was shorted out, lines running up and down. I told the clerk, and I reported everything to the " manager" in the morning. I don't want to be charged for a broken TV. As if that's not enough, there was NO HOT WATER IN THE SHOWER OR SINK. WE COULD NOT SHOWER IN THE MORNING. THEY SHOULD PAY MY GF FOR THE WORK SHE DID CLEANING THE ROOM !!! Next time we will go to the Hilton. read more

I have stayed at this particular location multiple times over a certain period and the staff for the most part is professional and helpful. There's been a few people to come and go that I feel have deserved to not be in the customer service industry at this time I can't give too much praise regarding the rooms themselves however there is a particular employee that has remained consistent and very helpful whenever I have stayed at this Motel6 and I have to give mention and praise to Pete. This particular gentleman throughout the multiple times I have stayed at this hotel has been so sweet and attentive to my needs or requests. He is extremely knowledgeable, thorough, caring and in my experience has been beyond attentive to myself and my daughters which in my opinion is detrimental to whether or not I will take the time out of my day to even write a review which I rarely do unless I feel compelled to acknowledge a specific person or business. My two daughters that accompany me majority of the time as well have also mentioned to me how sweet and nice he is I appreciate that although they are young he still treats them with the same respect that he would give an adult making sure to answer any questions they've had as well as helping them and myself with any needs or concerns I may have or have had. I never feel like I'm inconveniencing him or bothering him like I have experienced with other staff members at numerous companies. Thank you Pete it's employees like you who really make a difference in the decision people make when returning back to a specific hotel or deciding to take our business elsewhere. Stayed there on 1/28/24. No hot water at all. Plus the heater did not work either. Found out the owner purposely turned the hot water heater temperature all the way down to save money. Would not recommend this motel to anyone. Would not give any stars to this motel. read more

The room had trash in it, the vent cover in the bathroom was missing, there was rust in the bathtub, poop tracks on the bathroom floor, there was holes in the bathroom door and the ac wouldn't turn off. I am utterly appalled at the audacity of the staff at this location. I have stayed at this motel 6 many times through the 11 years I have lived in Lompoc. I am not on drugs and I don't mess with anyone. I have stayed there with my daughter, it's her favorite place. I went there with a friend last week to get a room. The guy working there, before even seeing me, tells my friend that I'm not allowed at that motel due to a negative review I wrote about them. First night in rm 213, no hot water from the sink, paint chipping in tub, clogged tub and dirty bed. 2nd night rm 113, smelled awful...like death, clogged sink, ceiling leaking and black mold all over. If I could give this place a zero rating I would. Loud!! Super sketchy area. People hanging over the balcony and random people slowly biking through the parking lot looking through cars. Walls as thin as newspaper and all night long into the early morning hours we could hear thumping from the bass of vehicles sitting outside or driving by. No toiletries. Water pressure in shower was good, warm water immediately available. Bring your own toiletries, hair dryer and nicer towels. I enjoyed my stay but . . . Brought my own cleaning wipes to wipe down door knobs, remote and table, i don't know what's lurking there. Annual cycling event has hotel sold out. One single person at checkin, 2 housekeepers on duty and many rooms still not clean at 4pm. Some guests did not get into their rooms until 8pm. Long line out the door and thru the parking lot. Customers waiting hours for their room. Customers being assigned rooms already occupied. They know this event is coming, they knew they were sold out months ago. This hotel does not deserve our business. . A complete poop show. read more

If you're thinking of staying here while driving up to the Bay Area DO NOT. Place is a dump full of junkies and A/C In not working, rooms say non smoking but smell heavy like cigarettes. Our family of 5 (2 toddlers) decided to stay here. After check in we discovered A/C Was not functioning mind you front desk receptionist Samantha was aware and didn't say anything during check in. It was the middle of summer and the room was hot and humid. I called front desk and was told they'd work on it and no discount or option for full refund if we decided to leave. I opened the door to which Samantha decided to give me a call and rudely asked to keep it down and that kids couldn't be on hallway area, mind you it was a hot day 100 with no A/C. Manager Diamond stated they would give us a full refund if we decided to leave. Till this day 2 months later not one cent refunded. Save yourself a headache and don't reserve here. Motel 6 - Lompoc I was here last Friday night because I needed somewhere to crash before taking my daughter to the airport at 3 am. The front desk staff person (male) was friendly at check-in as was the staff person (female) who answered the phone when I called the front desk to tell them that my non-smoking room reeked of cigarettes. She offered to move me, but I declined, since I figured I'd go through all the hassle just to end up in another room with the same issue. At this point, I started to look around the room, and what I found is documented in the photographs: cigarette burns on the night stand and bed spread; stained sheets; rust and peeling finish in the bath tub; rust, stains and damage/shoddy repair work on the wall next to the tub. I should have taken a picture of the bottoms of my feet...after a couple trips across the room, my feet were black from the filthy floor. The toilet and sink were clean, but that's about it, and if the drinking glasses hadn't been disposable and sealed in plastic I wouldn't have used them. There were also a few shady looking people coming and going...I would assume they weren't there for the ambiance. I understand 'economy' and 'budget', but the place is charging people money and should at least be clean and in good repair. Also, I called this morning and spoke to yet another nice front- desk person, who took a detailed message and assured me that when her manager came it at 11:30 she would have her call me. Raul is on a power trip and is witnessed yelling out of control at customers multiple times. when awoken to work his receptionist night duty he comes out yelling and looking for trouble. demanded to confiscate my ID to " hold" as collateral for a two dollar hair dryer. then told me " You must not need it then." when I refused to to surrender my license to drive . this man is bully and was also noted yelling at my husband parked quietly waiting for me to come out of the lobby at midnight. read more
