We booked king bed room, it was spacious, clean, with a large bathroom and dining table with 2 chairs. It's great for us to pick up food and eat in the room. One of my favorite features was the remote-controlled curtains, it has full blackout function, blocking out sunlight and helped us sleep better. Breakfast was decent, I enjoyed the fruit parfait. Although breakfast was supposed to end at 9 AM, I noticed the staff still replenishing food after 9. Overall, a comfortable stay with good amenities that made the experience even better. read more

I stayed here in April and initially thought the front desk staff was rude but didn't think much else of it. She was kind of chaotic in the check in process, flipping through papers, and asking redundant questions about the card I put in file. She then put us in a dirty room and when we came back to get the room changed, instead of being apologetic, she was seemingly annoyed. Whatever, not a huge deal since we got put in a different room. Then after I got home from my trip, I realized I was double charged. I called the hotel and the gentleman I spoke to said it should be resolved, which I trusted. Fast forward to today, I have family staying at this hotel, so I drove up to visit them. I decided to check my bank statement and sure enough, the double charge is still on my bank statement. Cindy, the receptionist at the front, who was the same one who assisted me in April, was incredibly rude and again, acted bothered when I asked if she could help me look into this. I began to try to explain the situation to her and instantly she said "I can't do refunds," and then told me to write down my name, phone number, and email, because her manager was the only one who could help me. When I asked her when I should expect to hear back, she was very snarky with her response, stating she didn't know her managers schedule. On top of that, she roomed one of my family members in a dirty room, and they had to come to the front desk to ask to be put in a clean room... Working in hospitality, I'm sure has its challenges, but her consistent attitude toward people and her inability to efficiently manage rooming guests in clean rooms, which should be the absolute bare minimum expectation, should really be addressed. Hopeful that the manager will resolve their error in double charging me in April and address the staffs behavior to improve future guest experiences. read more

I like to avoid chains. This hotel has been in business going back decades. The staff are friendly and helpful. Michael checked me in and lent his bottle opener for me to use for my stay. The hotel has a modern aesthetic. The room is black white and red with gold. The shower was my sole concern. It was poorly designed, in that the controls cannot be reached without you getting wet. They are on the opposite side of the entrance. The showerhead is ginormous. There is no reaching around it. I had no choice, but get my hair wet when I had no intention to shampoo. read more

I reserved three rooms at Inn At Highway 1. Overall, the property's appearance was clean, but one of the rooms had a serious issue. When we returned late in the evening, we found roaches crawling on the nightstand and I was able to kill one. I reported this to the front desk and spoke with Cyndie. Her response was dismissive and came across as blaming, she said the prior guests "had no complaints," and after I showed her the video and photos I took, she suggested they "probably got in from the outside through the door," as if it were acceptable for roaches to be in the room. Cyndie stated she would notify the property manager, Rashad, and call me back. I followed up later that day and was told she still had not been able to reach him. It has now been almost a week, and I have not heard back from Cyndie or the property manager regarding the roach problem. I'm sharing this so other guests can make an informed decision. I would not recommend staying here unless the pest issue is addressed and management improves how concerns are handled. I also believe a response from management and an appropriate adjustment/refund for the affected room is warranted. read more

This hotel was absolutely perfect for our quick stay. The room was clean and spacious & the sauna was amaaaazing!!! I highly recommend booking a sauna session: they have you robes & slippers, set the sauna to the perfect temp, there's a small shower with toiletries just before the sauna- so you can take cold rinses to break up the heat To top off the whole experience, the hotel staff, particularly the female receptionist (I think her name was Tina), truly made the experience. This probably was really nice when it was first upgraded. New floors, new bathroom, etc. The good: On the plus side, check in was all online, altho' it felt unnecessarily invasive to have to upload my kids' info. And my DL, etc. What little interaction I had with the front staff was pleasant enough. Location is fine. Our experience the room was clean. Shopping and dining easy to get to. Price was reasonable compared to others in the area. Prices are high in Lompoc for some reason, so this seemed like a good deal at the time. The not so great: First of all, it's noisy. The hallways have hard floors- which is nice instead of 20 yr carpet or something- but the noise really reverberates. If guests aren't making a lot of noise, not a problem. If they are you'll definitely hear them. Second, the remodels haven't aged well. Bad caulking, screws in weird places, fixtures starting to rust. I know it's a rough biz with thin margins and you might want to economize on your remodel, but you're not really protecting your investment. I don't know how we ended up here- we certainly didn't check the Yelp reviews first. Next time, there's another spot we'll try. read more

The receptionist was rude. The second we walked in the door, he first thing she said was I need to see your ID. I asked why did I have to fill out all that information online and upload my ID and selfie then? She got defensive and said "oh you pre-registered? You just had to tell me that!" She then proceeded to ask "what is your name? Karen?" Intentional. Maybe. My name does start with a K. We got there at 3:30 and the room wasn't ready. Check in is after 3:00. She said they'll be ready in about 10 minutes but we'll have clean sheets and pillowcases on the beds and make sure it's clean for you. My mom jokingly said "Well I should hope so!" So we sat in the lobby to wait and she was standing there the whole time. After about 15 minutes I asked if they were going to call when it was ready and she said "you can go up now if you want" nah. We'll just sit here with out luggage staring at each other longer. Then we get in the room and I went to use the bathroom and there, on the wall next to the toilet, t looks like someone sprayed diarrhea on the bathroom wall. We went to get the cleaning lady in the hall, and told her. She didn't speak English but she came and looked. She left and a supervisor came back to ask what the problem was. We thought the visual was self explanatory. No English required. The supervisor saw it and said "Shit". Exactly. Then she went to get the cleaning lady to clean it. She almost got it all. The dried on accumulation of dripped conditioner on the wall wouldn't be a huge problem because it's just conditioner, but the fact that we were waiting in the lobby for them to clean the room and then this was on the shower wall indicated to me that they didn't even clean the shower before we came in. The bathroom sink was clogged and would fill in the time it took us to wash our face.The room was super noisy. The hardwood floors everywhere made the housekeeping staff yelling down the hall to each other and rolling their noisy carts back-and-forth by the room so loud you couldn't even hear the television. One of the queen beds was OK the other one had a noticeable dip in the mattress. It was odd that they only serve breakfast Monday through Friday from 6 to 8 AM. I don't know what you do if you stay there on weekends. The food was OK. Could've been warmer. And could've done without the hair in the butter. Bottom line...What I stay here again? Absolutely not. I was tempted to leave immediately and ask for our money back, but I didn't want to deal with it. read more

Pros: Check in was fast. Room was pretty clean and mattress was soft. Walk to fast food and a couple of resturants. Cons: Most uncomfortable toilet seat ever and the TP roll was so far away I had to get up to access it. Kleenex box was empty. Bathtub was slightly slippery. Towels were old, thin and scratchy. No lotion. Very noisy from the highway and people upstairs. Neighborhood not the best. Room had a basement feel to it and decor was off. Cars are parked right outside by room window. Owners of Highway 1. I never knew how petty hotel employees and their owners could be until I was faced with discrimination from your business and I believe it's your brothers business. Please correct me if I'm wrong. The first time I stayed at your hotel I made a complaint because the female worker you had there she had a really bad additude and a snark look on her face like she smells s*** on her upper lip while communicating. Nonetheless I gave it another try and everything was fine me my daughters and dog enjoyed our stay. I left to a different hotel because your prices were too high for my liking and your accommodations were good not great. I kept in touch with your employee Mike through my mother in law who initiated my initial stay. I had a lot of respect for Mike and the way he communicates and the knowledge he has about the hotel industry. What better person to help me with the situation I was having at another hotel than him so I stopped by one night actually the same night my dog had to go to the emergency vet due to her reaction to roach larvae. And I shared with him in detail with photo evidence what I experienced at the other hotel and during that conversation he shared his own experience with that specific person and his exact words to me were and I quote" Lui** is very childlike we've used her a couple of times when we needed help and she's very dramatic and immature at times". I couldn't agree more! Then he said to me and I quote" based off the information your telling me and seeing the evidence you have I would say that you have a good chance to SUE the owner when you get back I would tell her everything you told me and tell her you know the owner of Budgett Inn and the owner of Highway 1 are brothers and he also owns the Travellodge in Santa Maria and he's almost certain that her sons are not employed by the manager therefore should not be giving advice or assistance to any customers. Sorry Mike I had no intentions of divulging that information until I learned you were going against your better judgment and moral compass to have me DNR'd from the motel you work for. That brings me to the very next day after I waited out front of the motel with my dog for hours in plain sight until I could check in which I wanted to pay to do earlier but all of a sudden you were no longer reachable. So I basically checked myself in on the kiosk in the lobby it wasn't until it was time for me to sign the reservation at the very end that the female employee ( yes the same female employee I earlier mentioned) walked in and I completed the reservation. She was surprisingly very nice to me. We get checked into our room we immediately jumped in the shower to wash off the filth we picked up from the Budgett Inn. So we're enjoying our shower I think but I'm not sure if it was banging on the door or people going up and down the stairs that me and my daughter kept hearing. We get out and simultaneously there is knocks on the door and the room phone is going off Mike is outside yelling my name for everybody to hear and it's the front desk lady on the saying that she noticed my dog and I need to pay a fee for her. Confused I tell her Mike never mentioned a fee for the dog and the previous two times I stayed at the hotel nobody told me there was a fee for her. I get off the phone hurry up and put on the same dirty clothes I had on to answer the door and Mike was standing there telling me I need to pay a fee for the dog I look puzzled as anyone would and said what fee? To which he replied I should pay $75 but because the price recently changed he will allow me to stay at $50 as a courtesy. He spoke to me one way when his coworker was around and a completely different way when it was just me and him. After the small debate I had with him regarding the situation I eventually gave up and put the dog to sleep in the car AGAIN I did not have the resources or strength to argue with anyone else. Sorry Mike I genuinely had no intention of telling all this until you switched up on me and I realized that you and the owner had a conversation and decided you were going to create a issue in order to silence me with a DNR because I know too much information. I can't make this stuff up if I tried!!!! The immaturity and discrimination I am receiving from the owners and their employees is so hurtful and so disgustingly forward and obvious. Highway 1 you ABSOLUTELY had no valid reason to do what you did and again I will stand up for myself in every way possible. You will remember my name after all this is said and done. Stayed here while visiting family. Hotel does not have staff on premises in the evening hours until morning for issues such as card not working. The owner blamed me saying I deactivated my card some how. Mattress was found to be very stained. When Expedia asked me to do a review on their site I did so and the "owner" responded very hostile as he/she did with every negative review blaming the customer for all items wrong. I'm pulling hard on this review to give the Inn at Highway 1 a three star review. While it would easily slide to a 2 star... and conversely, not push to a 4 star without prevarication... I'm deliberately applying a couple of lenses to this which may or may not apply to you, but they are true. Read on, if you dare. We made reservations on Booking.com, and considering the Memorial Day weekend rates, got a reasonable price. I try to stay exclusively at well-known hotel chains, where a bad experience at least offers some recompense from corporate. With only a two night stay planned, and throwing caution to the wind, I broke my own rule with this one. Lompoc is a quaint and rather simple community; this motel matches its surroundings. A two story building that looks like it was originally conceived as a low cost apartment building, the "Inn" has no pool, business center, workout room-- just rooms. The small office at the front was staffed by a very nice lady with a good sense of humor, so there's that. When we entered our room, the first thing I noticed was a strong chemical cleaner smell. As I stepped in, the vinyl fake-wood floors were greasy-slippery, as if they had been mopped with the wrong cleanser and air dried to a thick waxy film. Throughout our stay, I walked gingerly... like I was walking in a restaurant kitchen without non-slip shoes. The room featured a small table with two chairs, a ceiling fan, a king size bed (more on that later), night stands with lamps, a wardrobe/fridge/microwave/tv wall unit thing with drawers, and a giant bathroom with a massive shower. Maybe we got an ADA room? There was a shower seat in the shower, but no hand rails around the toilet. Towels, Soaps and shampoos were minimal. Hot water and good pressure. Fresh paint in and out of the building. The TV flatscreen was tiny, but my HDMI/computer combo worked to watch Netflix, so that helped. The bed: a king. I always lift the mattress and do a thorough bed bug check and there were No bugs! I pulled a drawer out of the wall unit-- no critters, no bugs, no filth. To their credit, the place was clean, despite the slippery build up on the floors. The mattress was old, a little beat up in the corners, and covered with basic linens-- again, adequate but nothing fancy. A look under the bed revealed that the center of the frame was held up with a pile of 2x4s (see photo). Again to their credit, the "repair" worked. Smallish pillows, but our busy and active days meant we fell asleep pretty quickly and got up early. I've slept in many better beds, but a few that were genuinely worse. I went to turn on the heater-- there wasn't one! See photograph showing the 220 plug in the wall but no AC/heater unit. And then it sort of hit me: they're trying to fix this joint up. A cursory internet search revealed the property has recently been sold, and ostensibly, the owners are fixing the place up. Older Yelp reviews demonstrate it was a 1 Star place, but that was not my assessment in 2019. The ACs haven't been installed... yet? The beds have not been replaced... yet? The shower featured new tile work and a new plate glass door... the bathroom had new countertops, but a tiny older toilet and a strange layout. All that to say... this is a couple steps below what I'm used to. If we had the kids with us, it would have sucked... but for a two night stay with my adventurous better half of 15 years, it was worth the story of having stayed there. Can't imagine I'll be back in Lompoc anytime soon, which predicates that I won't stay here again anytime soon, either. My guess is it is improving over time, but relativity being what it is, your satisfaction -- and number-of-stars experience-- may vary from mine. read more

I've never experienced such a nightmare when it comes to getting a refund as this one. I paid for 7 days only needed two went to go update my reservation, and get a refund and got into a whole argument about the way third party Payment Processing works because my tap to pay card was different number than the card number that he had. Apparently the manager has no clue as to how to pay works and because of that I'm sitting here at home with a dog that's sick throwing up blood and I cannot take her to the vet because they won't process my refund. Furthermore I was quoted that the room would be 105 a night and when I went to check out early I was billed $130 a night just because I was leaving sooner. The manager here is rude the owner is impossible to get a hold of and I'm considering suing the hotel for pain and suffering as well as filing a Better Business Bureau complaint. I'm going to make sure I review it on every platform I can. This is bad business, terrible customer service, and in all around nightmare to deal with. read more

It was 11p.m when we pulled so it was dark so the outside looked decent. Positives:: young lady at the desk was nice, Got our room keys pretty quick. Room was clean, so that was good. Bathroom is huge & clean! Lots of outlets. Came with a mini fridge & microwave. Free mini breakfast! Downfall:: there was NO AC/heating unit but it was ok because it was a cool night already. My kids complaint was the horrible WiFi, so beware of that. The walls are thin you can hear the neighbors showers. Warning If you're taller than 6"4 you'll get it from the ceiling fan. read more

We traveled to the area for a funeral. So the room was a fitting representation of my mood, sad. First off the woman at the reception desk was rude. We arrived at 3:30, intentionally past the 3:00 check in. We had to wait for our room to be completed. The reception assured us the sheets and pillowcases would be fresh. I thought that was a given. I was first struck by the old and dated red and black color scheme. But it was the what looked like diarrhea splattered on the wall next to the toilet that was most off putting. Call me too bougie for my own good. The shower didn't look clean, dripping soap from the dispenser, worn and dirty looking bottom of the tub. Towels were scratchy and didn't smell right. Again, call me bougie but I like a plastic bag in the ice bucket and paper shields over the glasses. Just indicates a sense of cleanliness. The mattress was sloping to the center. The sheets were scratchy, but at least they were "fresh". Only one uncomfortable chair in the room. It was certainly not conducive to relaxation, by any stretch of the imagination. The noise from bumping of cleaning carts and yelling back and forth in the hall was heard well above the tv. One good thing, my daughter and I had a few good belly laughs over the whole situation. Do you know how many hilarious scenarios come to mind wondering how diarrhea was on the wall? No, I won't be staying here again, and will warn friends to stay away! Far away! read more

Had a terrible experience with the staff. On checkout day, i was about to start checkout at 11 AM when the housekeeper and front desk person started calling me repeatedly on the phone and banging loudly on the door like cops going after criminals at 11:06. I told them to give me a few minutes. 10 minutes later, the loud banging and the phone calls started again. I was in the restroom and had to open the door without flushing or washing my hands. This was very traumatic for me. Guest Services refused to acknowledge or apologize to me when I complained. I asked for a refund but no response. read more

We usually stay across the street but decided to try this hotel. Huge parking lot surrounding the premise. Sketchy folks here and there across the street at night, nothing I'm not used to. Gentleman at check-in made it simple and quick as I was one of the later check-ins. I don't think there are elevators to the 2nd floor but we parked right outside our room and my suitcase was not heavy. Rooms were modern, clean, like they remodeled not long ago. Comfortable King size bed is always great. Pillows were outta shape. Shower was one of those slanted drains and cramped--augh. Waterfall showerhead sucks--no pressure of course and took up the entire shower. The Double sinks are not necessary if the sinks aren't separate from the shower and toilet, would've preferred more counter space. The sinks are huge bowls like at restaurants, and were too high for my 8 year old so not very kid-friendly. Noises came from turning on the shower. You can also hear it from other rooms lol but I did not expect to have a huge fridge and freezer in a hotel room. I needed a hair dryer and gentleman came through at 10pm on Saturday night so I hella appreciated that. Breakfast was decent, better than some continental breakfasts. Good luck trying to get ahold of anyone at the front. NO ONE ANSWERS THE PHONE! I want to start by saying that I've never had this issue here before. It is a very old but semi renovated motel. There is no central air or heater. I couldn't imagine staying here in the summer. Anyways I check in late last night 10pm everything went smoothly I even realized I didn't have a space heater and went to the front to grab one. I then went back to my rooms and realized the cold water in the sink didn't work. The knob wouldn't let water out at all. Of course I call and no one answers so I just left it alone and figured it would b fixed it I would just switch rooms the next day. I come back around 3pm the next day and went to the front, told the older cigarette smelling lady what's going on and she apologized and switch me rooms.. from downstairs to upstairs. Cool, I gather all my stuff and go upstairs.. I open the door and the room was gross it seems as if someone checked out and housekeeping did not yet come to clean. (Sounds like a front desk problem , for not communicating or knowing what is going on with their rooms) I called the front no answer of course. The housekeepers were SOO much more helpful then the front has ever been my entire stay/experience with them. The housekeepers start cleaning the room and 20 min later after waiting in the hallways , I am finally able to go into the room... but before I went in the room The front desk older lady comes upstairs and lets me know that the water is working in my previous room.. so I asked her if they fixed it? And she said no it was always working... Which was a lie and I said why would I lie? I have no reason to lie! So she didn't say anything and left... Finally I get into my room. Two minutes later another person comes banging on my door hard and says housekeeping... I open up the door and it says woman asking me to go downstairs to the front because the front wants to talk to me... I go to the front and again I am told that the water works and I guess they fixed it... So I said OK cool that's what you called me down here for? And they said they're switching me back downstairs... Why would you have me pack up all my bags go through everything I went through, and tell me I need to go back down to my room. When the first thing you should've done was fix the problem so switching my room. Which I would've had no issue with. The lady had a horrible attitude and knew she was wrong but instead of apologizing and admitted she was wrong and leaving me in my room she made my keys put them in front of my face and said here are your keys. I have no more words for them... I simply said don't worry about it I don't need these keys or the other keys... I will not be staying here anymore and I would just like my money back... Rightfully so after everything they just put me through. She denied it continued with her horrible attitude. And I left... Across the street to the Hilton, please remember that you get what you pay for. This place is disgusting. Not worth the stay.. no matter how desperate or on a budget you're on. We loved this hotel! Doesn't look like too much on the outside, but the modern hallways and upgraded room were perfect! Extremely comfortable bed! Very clean thru out. Plenty to watch on TV - movie channels galore! We stayed here for one night when we went wine tasting in Los Alamos/Los Olivos and it was a great little drive (with beautiful views) in between the towns and hotel. We planned Friday night to go visit Hearst Castle. It is a 4 hour drive from LA so we decided to look for a place to stay overnight and unfortunately for us all hotels in the nearby cities were all fully booked. After 30 minutes, Luckily someone cancelled their reservation at this place and 1 room with 2 queen beds (we're 4 people) become available so I booked it right away. Fast forward after visiting the majestic Castle, My friend found a buffet at Lompoc and it was just 3 minutes away from the this place COOL!! ok so checking in - The lady at the front desk was really nice and friendly although she mistakenly charged me more for what is she supposed to for a deposit. No biggie as long as they will return my $ back. We finally got in our room its nice and spacious especially bathrooms I am giving 10stars for the bathroom :)) umm ok so the down side is NO AC again NO AC I couldnt imagine how people survived I did not pay attention to expedia when I booked the hotel but this was the first time I stayed on a hotel/motel without Airconditioning system.. and thats minus 1 star next is I found a bug on my bed see picture I posted l For me, this place has a potential if only they have AC (which the lady who check us out told me the management are working on it) If I am in the area I will definitely come back if they have AC installed in every room. read more

INN AT HIGHWAY 1 receives "1-Star", for their "Lack of Professionalism", when I experienced a TECHNICAL MALFUNCTION, with my Debit Card (which was CAUSED BY THEIR "WI-FI", telling my Bank that I was in "2 Different Distant Locations, at the SAME TIME!") Instead of letting me go to my Bank, to fix the problem (so that I could "Extend" my Stay), they told me to "Pack Up, Leave - then, Come Back!" Room is a little expensive for what I paid for. People next door were smoking weed outside and the smell was super strong in my room. I call the receptionist several times ( 10:30) but no one answered the phone. So, I didn't have other choice that confront those people and ask them to move away from my door. The door doesn't have any stripping and the drawer has missing bottom.I will not recommend this hotel at all read more

We stayed at the Inn at Highway 1 for 3 nights, from 24 to 27 August 28, 2022. Almost from the moment we arrived it started to go bad. I asked about the breakfast that was advertised on the website. I'd gone to Google Maps, found the Inn so I could look at the amenities and start planning the trip, and noticed a few things. The Inn's site said they had breakfast, so I asked about it. "Oh, we don't have breakfast anymore." I told him it was still on the website, to which he said the same thing basically. Also, something like he was going to investigate. I didn't yet mention the missing barbecue grills, but I looked later, and they weren't there either despite being on the Inn's website. Now to the first room. We were never told it was two stories, and there was no elevator. On to the second room. It was spacious enough. The floors were a bit slick in the bathroom when I wore shoes, The bathroom was huge for a hotel room and, while I'm here, the tub and shower were great for pressure and general comfort. Two complaints there. The noise the running water made, once you started the shower part it was ok but when just running a bath it sounded like a horror movie, as if the pipes were monsters trying to cross into our dimension. The ceiling fan was way off balance and very noisy too. There were two other people working at the front desk when I went back a couple times for various things. A young lady and a young man. These two were the bright spots of the Inn at Highway 1. I have been in customer service for over twenty years..and THAT'S how you do it. I wish they had been there that first night. A not so good room would have been a better experience if those two had been our first impression. The location was central, access was easy enough from there to what Lompoc has to offer. I would only recommend this Inn with the proviso that you not expect too much. Bring what you need (food, etc.) with you or be prepared to go get it yourselves. There was no hotel guide or instructions on how to work the tv, we had to sign into our own Prime account to watch anything, it was... mess. Would I recommend this hotel? Only in desperation and if you have to choose between here and the Red Roof Inn, just sleep in your car. I don't live in Lompoc but if you have to stay here, wait until the Hilton Garden Inn opens up. Originally, the reservation was for the Red Roof Inn, and lucky for us, the reservation was for the day before and that story is for another review. We needed a room, and we were able to obtain one here at the Inn At Highway 1. The main hallway that the rooms are connected to has major damage to the carpet. There are countless number of stains and splotches. I referenced that hallway as the CSI walk of shame. It was the worse the carpet I had ever seen. I wanted to sanitize my shoes after walking on it. The room was not much better. While it had A/C ( a Lasko fan from WalMart in the window sill ), the room was quite strange, odd, peculiar and bizarre all wrapped in one. The carpet was not as bad as the hallway but stained. The fixtures in the bathroom were oddly new. The toilet and the glass see through shower simply did not match the room from the 90s. The shower head was a gigantic plate slab of about 1 ft. sq. Odd. It also had rust spots. The pillows were flat and but the mini-fridge from a local Walmart was great as was the microwave. When morning came, we were quick to depart. The offices state that they open at 8am but I was there at 8am and no one was there. There was a handy-man there waiting from the front desk, so I had to leave and come back. Another note, there's no restrooms available in the lobby. All in all, We're thankful that didn't have to stay at the RRI, but this stay was truly bad. read more

Dirty, slimy, smelly.....looks like a motel for a meth lab....or heroin dealers....don't go....checked out after an hour....didn't even want to think about sleeping on those beds!!! Carpet filthy...just don't!! Pictures are fake of this motel... Trust us....we lost 90.00......just to escape filth and maybe catching bed bugs or scabies!!!! read more

After reading several bad reviews here and on Priceline, I still took a chance because the price was right and the location was great. I booked the Standard King room and showed to nice girl at the desk how the picture looked in the advertisement for Standard king room. And mentioned the bad reviews I've seen. She upgraded me into a Deluxe room. The room was beautiful. The flooring was really nice and the bathroom was so pretty. The bed was a bit hard but decent. It was a bit chilly and this place doesn't have central heating or air. So thankfully I found a portable heater in the closet and that worked great. Breakfast was decent. Would have been nice to have some sort of breakfast meat.... no eating area there by the food so you have to carry your tray to your bedroom. Which isn't ideal. I'd stay here again but I'd make sure the room matches the advertised room again. read more

No one should EVER stay here. This hotel is terrible. The staff is terrible. We got in late from driving all day. We checked in and went to the room. The cleaning staff had left the window open (with the ceiling fan running) and it was sub 50 degrees in the room. We closed the window and turned the 'portable furnace' on. Tried to turn the TV on and it didn't work. So far we were still patient enough to overlook initial complications. One of us layed down on the bed and the mattress sunk to the floor from a height of 2 and a half, maybe 3 feet. We both started to look around the room to see if there was a hidden camera and we were on some TV show (if we were it wouldn't be possible to watch because the TV was not working). I picked up the phone to call the front desk and the phone wasn't working. With a small amount of patience in reserve, I walked to the front desk and informed the woman there of our situation. She didn't really have much to say as I was promptly informed that it was outside of her power to do or suggest anything without her manager present. I asked again in a different way if there was anything she could do. She then said she could 'upgrade' us to a different room. I said thank you. She looked at me cockeyed and said, "Huh?" Long story short, after seeing two more rooms with similar and new problems we settled on one with a 'working' bed. In the morning, I spoke to the manager (Carlos Garcia) about some sort of partial credit for our trouble and was met with this profound example of top notch customer service: "Well, you got a room didn't you?"
