Lots of positives but there also some things that should change. Food. Some really good flavors but also some things that could greatly improve. The shrimp and grits were lacking flavor and the grits were not fresh. They obviously made a choice to not use creamy grits, but their choice fell flat. Would prefer the spice to come from the shrimp and offset some with grits vs trying to spice up a he grits. Other fish dishes were good. Service was very good except for clearing our plates after we finished. We would come back to try more dishes. One other thing. Before dark the lights were all on. The combination of sunlight and lighting was a lot. As we Finished dinner the lights were dimmed. Maybe someone just forgot. The atmosphere reeks for gentile lighting. read more

Amazing food and service! We will be back! Our party of four had great salads and delicious Hewn bread to start, and black cod, chicken, pork and branzino for the main dishes. The lemon pie for dessert was the standout. Our waitress Lucia was very knowledgeable about the menu and she was very accommodating with all our special requests. I had the grilled Mahi Mahi on a bed of mushrooms and it was all I ever dreamed of. Lol No seriously, it was delicious! The fish was cooked so soft, and the mushrooms were perfectly chopped to almost feel like you were eating pasta. Everything about this meal was an event, no complaints! My co-worker ordered a sandwich with fries. The sandwich was great but the fries were a bit too greasy. The layout of the restaurant was perfect for a business lunch, dinner with friends, or a family meal. I will definitely try them again. The waiter was helpful and polite. read more

Good food. But honestly, it is SO not worth the price. Their bread and butter small plate was delicious and a good price! But everything else was insanely expensive! I ordered the trotter's and tails hazelnut fed pork and it was yummy! But there was barely any of it and it cost an arm and a leg. Honestly, I don't understand the middling reviews. Everytime we come to Inovasi it's excellent. The staff is so helpful, and I'm impossible to please. We just came for anniversary dinner. The wine selection was great and the server, wonderful Lucia, offered me several blind choices ranging from various price points so I could choose what I truly enjoyed. Appetizers were wonderful, dinner was excellent. My husband and I were both delighted - yet again. Cozy and decadent. Looking forward to the next excuse to come. I really wanted to give this establishment a five star review and had I enjoyed a five star filet mignon I would have easily done that. My review is a compilation of my observation of five dinners, our service, ambience, and overall value. Let's dive in and start with the food. We ordered a bread basket which was delicious. We ordered the cauliflower which was tasty but small in portion. The calamari was delicious. My colleagues ordered duck and the tuna and I ordered a fillet. Their dinners looked delicious and my colleagues confirmed they were quite tasty. My fillet on the other hand looked delicious but even the mightiest steak knife couldn't have cut through my steak. Hi had to do a double take to make sure I wasn't cutting it with a butter knife. It was impossible to cut but once I finally made my way through it like a chainsaw on an oak tree it was cooked to my medium requirement but super tough. It was already quite late by the time our party arrived after a long day of work out of town and I just didn't have it in me to send my steak back. If my steak had been home run I may have given the restaurant a five star review. It's pretty hard to mess up a steak but somehow it happened. Our server handled our group of nine quite definitely and with professionalism. The overall ambience is interesting. We were tucked around the corner in a smaller room which accommodated our group of nine easily with a few nearby tables with other dinner guests. As far as overall value goes you will spend a good penny on your dinner. I wouldn't give it a five star rating for value as I think the overall food experience didn't quite measure up to what we paid. But that said. This is a solid establishment in what looked to be a charming area. We were treated well as a group with friendly and professional service and our server made every effort to make sure we were taken care of. I would definitely come back again and try a few other items and should I do that I'd be happy to update my review. read more

Inovasi has been on my radar for years. Yesterday, my wife and I finally dined here, and it exceeded my expectations. John des Rosiers, (the owner/chef), buys his meat and veggies from local, conscientious farmers practicing sustainable agriculture - I like that. The place has a good, clean look. The dinning room is off to the left, and comes complete with white table cloths. The bar is off to the right, and a little more relaxed. As luck would have it, we stopped in July 22nd, which was the Sixth Annual Lake Bluff Bike Race and Block Party. All day, hundreds of cyclists raced on a short loop that happened to pass the windows of Inovasi - how fortuitous for us! We were seated in the bar area at a window looking out over the races (we watched the women's pro race). We ordered several shareable plates including: - Burrrata Cheese, (which is basically mozzarella). It was delicious, and came on a platter with walnuts, honey, toasted bread, pesto, etc... - Short rib - best I ever had - Chai Chicken, which was very tasty. - Bread pudding - Delicious! Service was good, and prices weren't unreasonable. We will definitely be back. read more
