Came in here night before last........to introduce a nephew to handguns. As he lived out in the Whittier area, this was the closest indoor range I could find. We got here about 7....parking was easy and walked in. The guy behind the counter....Johnathon was cheery and helpful. We got our stuff and went inside. Mmmmm, the smell of cordite......we set up and got him started shooting. It was very uncrowded.....with only two other parties shooting. Over the hour and a half we were there....another couple came and went as well......but other than that.....there was only 6 or so people in there the whole time. The staff came in every 5 or 10 minutes to sweep up the empty brass lying around and I saw them giving some tips to some other people there. The price was $15 for a stall + $10 for each addl shooter. Pretty much the standard for indoor ranges. The ventilation was adequate and the lighting was excellent. Overall it was a pretty positive experience. The facility as a whole was great. This review is mainly on customer service. I'm a pretty petite girl. 4"10, super skinny. People always seem to judge me based on that. Anyway, my boyfriend asked if we could shoot the 9mm. I don't remember the employee's name but he seriously told us..obviously me, "no that gun is too big for her. She won't be able to shoot it." Seeing as he works at a shooting range, we both believed him. He really made me believe I was too small to shoot it. I was super upset as I had always wanted to shoot that specific gun. I seriously went 3 years without shooting anything bigger than a .22 pistol. Until today, when I visited a different range. I shot an AK-47 with no problem & the employees there said if could shoot that, I could definitely shoot a 9mm. Long story short, DON'T DISCOURAGE PETITE GIRLS !! Still loving this place. I'm seeing more girls coming in to shoot, which is great. Too bad majority of them are only going because the boyfriend wants to look bad-ass. Also, too bad that for some of the girls that CAN shoot are acting like total arrogant biznatches and acting like they're better than anyone else. Rules are rules. They apply to EVERYONE, even if you think you can shoot. Regardless, staff is still top-notch. We've rented out the shotguns and more of the .45s to see what my next gun might be. They recommended the Sig P220 since I have small hands, and their advice was top-notch. As for the shotguns, well, I need to find more that I can handle with my short arm-length =( If you rent their guns, you have to use their ammo. Which is fine. Their factory reloads are definitely cheaper than some of the ammo places I buy from. .. We came back here yesterday and everyone and their mom was there. I like this range. I really do. It's reasonably priced (for a gun owner) and it's close to the freeway so getting here is not a problem. A large selection of targets, and many many lanes to fill. I will keep coming here although, if that one "chubbier" looking dude decides to give more unnecessary attitude, I will be taking my business elsewhere. I understand you are dealing with deadly weapons, but you gotta understand you are also dealing with customers. I have been coming to this range for years. The staff are professional and helpful. I tough many family members how to handle firearms safely at this facility. Range fees and reload ammo costs are fair. They also offer a service to clean your firearms after the range session for a nominal charge. read more

I love this place. It keeps me polished on my marksmanship skills. It's a great way to release on the weekends for me. I take my Beretta .40 cal. PX Storm here. My girlfriend has also shot with me here. She really enjoys it. I can easily get a lane everytime I come here. It doesn't matter if it's a weekday or weekend. I enjoy coming on weekends. I share my gun with other people and we have a blast. I bring my own ammo and it reduces my expenses at the end of my time. I have now made the drive from West LA to Artesia to shoot specifically at Insight a handful of times and let me tell you what keeps me coming back. Beside their inexpensive prices (10$ gun rental, which you can choose to swap out guns) and 18$ for 50bullets Their decent range size, ventilated space, and not only knowledgable but also helpful associated keeps me coming back. An other thing that i really appreciate about this range is they constantly have an associate squeegeeing the floor to clear it of bullets which is nice so i would make the 25 mile drive to insight to come and shoot. Gun range is very organized and clean. They have a lot of shooting lanes to pick from. They also have a good amount of guns to choose from. The staff is friendly and knows a lot about their weapons. Most are military veterans and know how to handle their weapon and teach others how to use it. They have their own parking lot. The restrooms are kept clean and well stocked. The prices are decent and won't overcharge you. I did get my target stolen or thrown away so I had to share a target. read more

I'm pretty ecstatic that they allow AR-15's (5.56/.223) every day of the week now. You have to shoot their ammo which is pricey, but fair since it's indoor. Solo lane, 80 rounds of .223 (PMC Bronze / 17.99 per 20) and 5 paper targets (.85 cents/ea) cost me about $75. It's definitely way cheaper to shoot 22lr of course if you're looking to get more bang for your buck as a first timer. The pricing is really good on rental's and boxes of ammo for this. The staff is really helpful and really make sure you are good to go if you happen to experience a malfunction. Totally recommend this place! read more

Not to mention, any gun range that supports a gun buyback program ($200 per firearm? What a joke) is a range that spits in the face of the 2nd Amendment. I had an amazing time! I was accompanied by an expert shooter, but even so, the staff were very nice and extremely helpful. I can't really say anything about the guns because we brought our own, but they seemed to offer quite a few along with a wide array of targets, from the practical to those that were just plain funny (bottles and cans, hostage target, etc.). I admit, I was scared. Just being near others that were shooting was deafening and bone rattling; it took awhile to adapt to the noise and force, this being an indoor range. They do give you head gear to protect your ears, but if its your first time, I really do recommend getting extra protection with the ear plugs. Even other shooters were nice, being sympathetic towards my first experience. A staff member will come around often, sweeping away the empty shells. Those things flew everywhere (even hit my head a couple times) so I wore eye protection like a nerd! Overall, I had a great time. I left a bit shaky, but definitely more confident and of course, happy:) happy shooting! read more

We strolled right in and had no problem with setting up a lane for ourselves with no wait time whatsoever. + We were assisted by Vincent, who was both highly informative and very patient (thankfully) in terms of providing us with all the info we could possibly ask for (and there was plenty). Per his recommendation, we selected a Glock 9 as our firearm for the day - easy to manage, low-caliber, minimal fuss. Vincent gave us a quick but comprehensive refresher as far as how to properly handle & fire the weapon, along with a run-through of the range's safety practices. He even threw in a bit of unexpectedly hilarious dry humor, just for the hell of it. + My GF's only fired a weapon a handful of times before, and it had been a pretty long time since I had been out at the range, as well. I had to shake off a bit of rust in terms of my stance & technique, but I quickly found the muscle memory kicking in after firing off a few rounds. From there, Vincent provided both of us with minor tweaks and critiques as needed - but I definitely noticed the difference after we incorporated his suggestions. For two shooters sharing 50 rounds + renting the Glock itself, our total came out to approximately $60 & some change. Not the most cost-effective means of stress relief out there, but well worth every penny! Insight is a professionally-run operation, and the range's staff knows just what to do to make sure that you have a fun, seamless, and informative experience. read more

I was actually expecting a lot of guys to be there, but there were many girls. Also, a lot of these reviews are from girls as well. This was my first time going to a shooting range and it's very good for beginners and people who have never gone. My friend had gone once or twice elsewhere and he said they were kinda mean and unhelpful. They let you switch gun and it is unlimited. Would definitely go again. My friend is thinking of getting a membership there. Also, the place is a bit hard to find so having a GPS helps. It's located in the back of a street with a lot of trucks, so it might be easy to miss. read more

I've never had so much fun at a shooting range before. First of all, this place is large. It doesn't feel as claustrophobic and loud as some other places, and you don't feel like someone next to you is going to do something dumb like pose with a gun towards a camera. They have a large selection of guns and targets you can rent. Prices are clearly stated on the wall. They let you rent some larger guns, which is nice. They also let you switch out guns, if you feel the need. For the Glock 19 we rented, the sight was slightly off, but we didn't have major issues like misfiring, like we regularly do when we go to other local places like LA Gun Club. If you have your own guns, ammo, and targets, they let you use them, as well, for a small fee. I think it's $15 a person if no one in your lane uses Insight's ammo, but for us, we had a few guns from home, and a rental gun and ammo from Insight, so it was only $10 a person. The parking lot gets full, quickly, but there is street parking. There are men's and women's facilities, and a lounge area. There is also a nice bullet proof window at every couple lanes so that you can watch if you want to. read more

My brother introduced me to this range and I stop by for some range time sometimes when I am visiting my parents nearby. They have their own large parking lot and plenty of street parking as it is in an industrial area. The employees are helpful and courteous. The indoor range itself is great. The only thing is I believe you can't fire shotguns here. I shoot my Glock 19 here primarily but I have seen many others shooting ARs. Make sure your ammo is brass cased if you are bringing your own or you won't be able to use it. read more

Getting there is a little tricky; I passed it the first time I went. The parking lot is adequate and street parking is available. Insight doesn't charge by the hour which is a huge plus for me and the fact that you can try out all their firearms for a flat rate sweetens the pot! However, if you do bring in your own shotgun, you must by their ammo. Again the staff was awesome and alert. Fantastic range to run my shotgun for close quarter training. Since you have to use Insight's birdshot shells, anything outside of 8 yards becomes a bit pointless. Combat load from saddle, dialing in your workspace technique, recoil control, two eye open aiming, and quick targeting from the low ready are all doable drills here. Nice staff and alert but not overbearing RO's is a plus. Pricing is fair. Parking adequate. Overall a decent place to run your shotgun if your home defense loads are birdshot. Be aware there are lot of new shooters here with plenty of groups and families. Not a negative but if your looking for a hard core gun club environment, this is not the range for you. read more

He went over everything slowly until I got it and even when my boyfriend and I were shooting, he would give us tips and check up on us continuously. made the experience worthwhile. They have a good selection of pistols to try out such as Glocks, Rugers, H & K and CZ to name a few. If you are in the market to buy a pistol and would like to try it out first, I would recommend you call them first to see if they carry it. My understanding is that you need a second shooter with you in order to borrow their guns. Luckily my bro tagged along with me! It can get expensive because you are charged per person and their is a rental charge as well. Also, you are only able to shoot their guns using their ammo only. You can use your own ammo when bringing your own pistol, however, you will need to buy their ammo if you bring your own AR15. They also sell some pistols as well and their prices are similar to Turner's and Ammo Bros. I highly recommend this place! read more

I have been shooting for over 30 years and never have had malfunctions in a 5 years old smith and Wesson 686 like I had with their reload ammunition. As far as indoor ranges go, this place was decent. Nothing to write home about, but no issues either. My complaint is about when I phoned in to ask about an out-of-state FFL transfer fee. Here's the conversation: A guy answers the phone and I ask "Hi, how much do you guys charge for a FFL transfer?" He goes, "$75 including taxes." I ask, "That's not including the DROS fee, right?" He pauses for five seconds, loudly sighs, and repeats in a frustrated voice, "$75 including taxes, man." I asked a simple and legitimate question about a service that was provided at his business, so I'm not sure what warranted such a response. Honestly it would have been easier for him to answer "yes" or "no". Anyway, the real reason I'm writing this is so that people don't get discouraged to the shooting sports when encountering pompous douchebags like this, who are unfortunately so common in the field.
