Inside is a beautiful open space filled with a variety of seating options, from tables to group tables with privacy and a space with awesome emerald velvet chairs! The decor is simple with little detailed touches of a door wall too Walking in you see a display of coffee beans, supplies, baked goods and the menu- lots of options for coffee drinkers and not. One minor thing is sizing options of drinks aren't listed with the price but the baristas ask anyway, so it's all good The set up of ordering and picking up the drink is streamlined with plenty of employees who greet everyone and call out orders, offering great service. Nice and big location with friendly baristas taking care of your order. We absolutely love the chai latte and the white chocolate mocha. The Chai Latte is on the sweeter side but it's so creamy and tasty, It'll always be my go to. The white mocha is also very creamy and so decadent. As a normally anxious person, my first visit to Insomnia was a really good experience. The staff was friendly and honest (as I asked about certain drinks ). The coffee shop has a relaxing vibe and is kept clean. A drink that was recommended was the iced Aztec Mocha/oat milk, which was delicious I also got an iced matcha/oat milk, which was equally as good. Towards the end of my visit I grabbed some pastries (I dont have any pictures because I was too impatient to try them )... An Espresso Chocolate Chip Cookie ‍, paired with a drip coffee (which has FREE refills! ) to dip it into (as recommended by one of the staff members ). A Chocolate Cookie because why not and a Marionberry Muffin. I will be coming back to this location! read more

Daughter & I loved going to Insomnia. Never have had a problem w any barista giving me a non-dairy alternative. Why would they? We pay extra for it. For whatever reason yesterday, we went in & when the cashier asked if I wanted whip, I was chipper when I said, "No, I ordered oat milk because I have a dairy allergy & even though your whip cream sometimes seems worth dying for, not today". Well, I don't know why but yesterday was the first time that instead of getting the oat milk that was paid for, we were both given milk. We were looking at the art on the walls when they called that one of our drinks was done, saw the barista's hand on the milk jug, & confirmed w the staff that we were getting oat milk because the grey oat milk carton was pushed back w the other bottles. Both the barista & cashier confirmed we were getting oat milk & I believed them. We believed them enough plus no prior bad experience at ANY cafe with this that when we noticed that our drinks tasted like they had milk in them, we figured it was just the brand of oat milk they used so I drank the whole thing. It didn't take long for my lips to start going numb, my abdomen started swelling grotesquely with cramping pains, & roiling coupled with diarrhea, & diffuse swelling throughout my body. My daughter hasn't been tested yet but milk doesn't sit well with her either & she, too, was having problems. We weren't able to eat dinner until 10 pm as we both were too ill to eat. The only thing that does this to us is milk. I had to take a benadryl last night as my throat was feeling tight & the swelling was not going down. I have lupus & I had literally just recovered from costochondritis yesterday. Avoiding allergens is a big deal for lupus & today, my costochondritis is back & causing me issues with breathing. I reported this on Insomnia's facebook page because, even if we never return, which we will not because this is the only cafe that has ever done this to us, the owner should know what occurred as it is actually a reportable health violation. Instead of at least apologizing about it & confirming that something would be done or adding some sort of clarity like "oh it was cross contamination" or something like that, the owner decided to delete the post. Allergies are non-negotiable. Insomnia is fortunate that mine is, at worst, moderate. I do know people with severe milk allergies that, if they had been the ones receiving it, they would've projectile vomited all over the cafe & would require a very expensive epi-pen. That would've been fun for the staff to deal with. TALK TO YOUR WORKERS ABOUT THIS. read more

The vibes are great and tons of different seating options for whatever you're using the space for. I can work remotely and take calls from here cuz their wifi is great. I work near Insomnia so I am very much a regular. I love their variety of drinks, but my favorite by far is just a classic latte with oat milk. Whatever espresso they use is immaculate. They also have a wide variety of treats. So far, I've only tried their bagels. My favorite is the everything bagel with the cheddar bagel being the runner-up. They always toast them perfectly and include butter or cream cheese if requested. Online ordering is super easy through their website if you're in a rush. If you're not, take time to enjoy the ambience. It's so beautifully decorated with an eclectic/vintage style and the staff are always so friendly. They also have an array of merchandise from mugs, to sweatshirts, to coffee beans. Whenever family visits, I take them here and they're always impressed. I would give 5 if they didn't do things like dictate how many people can sit at a table at any given time, and charge for cream cheese if you need a little more for your bagel. The general feel of insomnia is nice, I like the decor and it seems somewhat clean most of the time. I would say their customer service isn't as good as Starbucks, but it's not bad. They charge for water if you want it to go? I don't know man, maybe I'm spoiled from Starbucks? Asked if I wanted room in my cappuccino??i I'm not a coffee snob but I know you don't ask for room on a cappuccino. They have yummy baked goods and different food items. I always want to go to this place and then remember that they put melted ice in your iced drink from a container they have out in the open. Right in front of you - with no shame at all they put in your coffee drink melted ice. For that reason, I continue to go to Starbucks. read more

First, I'll say the employees are friendly and this review is not to bash them. Here's my problem: for $4 I received awful Americano by asking for something that is standard most places I go. So if I go to Dutch Bros. or Black Rock and get an Americano and ask if they can make it drinking temperature, they know exactly what I mean and get it perfect. The coffee is still hot-ish but I can start drinking immediately. When I asked for the same thing at Insomnia, I received barely lukewarm drivel. I mentioned to employee that it was lukewarm and barely warm and if she could heat it up and she said something about she didn't have a way to do that and the water from the sink only comes out at one temperature. Originally they said they could add either ice or a little cool water to get the drinking temperature I asked for and I said that's fine; I believe that's what they do at BR and Dutch Bros and I'll add that I've observed that those places use a thermometer as well. I'll say that even dang McDonald's has given me coffee correctly when I really needed caffeine and got some at drive through there. The Insomnia employee said she could make a new one, so she did attempt to make it right; however, I declined as there were more customers behind me and I felt badly about asking her to make a new one, so that's on me. But come on Insomnia, you should not only know how to meet the request correctly as you are supposed to be a nice coffee shop and not a Dunkin Donuts or something. I also didn't want to direct her exactly how to do the coffee. If Black Rock, Dutch Bros, and McDonald's know what I'm asking for (not a bizarre request), then you should be able to do the same. I will also mention that the last time I was in about a month ago, I was overcharged and didn't get the stevia in my drink I had asked for but didn't notice till I got in my car and I was in a rush to get somewhere. I first enjoyed Insomnia at their Cannon Beach location. Now, I'm fortunate enough to be across the street from this location now! They make the best chai latte I've ever had. In fact, I won't even order them any where else now - they've spoiled me. Their pastries are always exceptional - my new favorite is the blackberry cobbler scone! I was really excited for a independent smaller coffee shop to open. It really nice inside and the seating is big. The staff are very friendly. I drink iced drinks usually. The straws are to small. You have to lift them up a inch or two to drink your drink. When your drink is low and you want the whip cream. Your mouth is on the lid of the drink. I ordered a Bagel and cream cheese. The creme cheese is so small 1oz. It barely covered one bagel. Starbucks used to do the same till a few years ago they went to a larger size that is enough to cover the bagel completely. Also the prices are expensive here. I got a drink for my wife and it was $4.65 for a Small. At Starbucks it would be $3.65. I drink coffee every day. read more

I went in on a Monday afternoon. Ordered a medium light ice chai. Three people were working. One was making a drink, the two others weren't doing anything. I waited for the barista to make the person before me's drink. The guy started mixing something in an espresso container for at least two minuttes while talking to the other employees. They talked for a good 2-3 mins before he even started making my drink. He poured the chai mixture, I assume, into the cup and then added about a cup and a half of milk. It was the most watered down, no flavored chai I've ever had. The employees have zero urgency about making drinks especially on such a slow afternoon. Not nice...went for the first time. Excited to try a new place. Ordered a steamer and bagel to go. Asked for an ice water as well. Went to pick up my steamer and asked for the water as it wasn't on the counter. Shamed by the worker that I hadn't paid for it but she would let it slide because they were training. The girl who rang me up speaks up and says...I charged her for the water. First....please don't make me feel like I did something wrong if I ask for water. Second...if you are charging for water, please inform your customer before you do so. I also agree with the other review...one tiny cream cheese isn't enough for the bagel. Love the atmosphere and just how well they are handling covid. They had an anti mask person come in and throw an absolute fit when they said a mask was required but the staff handled it very well and said it is within her rights now to wear one. However, she was super rude and shouldn't be allowed to return and she was not even trying to give people six feet while not wearing a mask.
