So happy! We had a latte and americano and both were perfect! Seems difficult to find a real coffee shop with great coffee and good service. The pastries are very good too. Cardamom roll and ginger scone were our choices. Both had distinct flavor and texture. A nice compliment with the coffee. Day 3 in Cannon Beach starts with another coffee shop. For such a small place, Cannon Beach does like its coffee. Comparing this to Sleepy Monk and Sea Level, I enjoyed the coffee here just as much as Sleepy Monk (Sea Level is a step behind in coffee taste), but my partner loved the blueberry scone she got, and I loved the garlic cheese pastry I got. So I rate Insomnia ahead of Sleepy Monk in the pastry dept. and on par with Sea Level. In terms of ambience, Insomnia is close to the beach (duh), and has plenty of social distancing space, plus a nice flow to the process of getting your coffee fix. I like this over both Sleepy Monk and Sea Level. Service is awesome, just like everywhere else here. It's a place we will return to! read more

One of our favorites so knowing it was here was a must go. Great stop on your way to the beach and unique decor. They have alternative milks and can customize drinks for you. A medium americano is only $3.50 and they were featuring kettle black tea house as well with made to order tea flavors and quality that is out of this world. A blueberry hibiscus latte was only $4. So incredibly reasonable for how wonderful the product. The Aztec-anything (hot cocoa or mocha etc) is hands down The best. Their drinks are spot on and a go to for every morning. Lively but yet relaxing coffee shop in Cannon Beach. I'm a big fan of their Aztec Mocha and Jalapeno cheese biscuits. The Mocha as is can be a bit on the sweet side, so you can ask them to hold back on the special syrup. The blackberry scone was the best one I've had in my life. I'm not a scone connoisseur and don't usually like scones because I find them to be very dry and too flaky. After I ordered and sat down to wait, I noticed the person next to me enjoying the triple berry muffin and instantly regretted my decision... but that was before I tried the scone. The scone had the perfect fruit to dough ratio. Each bite was filled with juicy blackberry goodness. There was also a cream cheese icing on top that was delicious. Wow I hope to eat another scone like that in my lifetime. I normally order cold brews no milk/cream/sugar but decided to try the real caramel latte ("real" caramel as in they use a sauce vs syrup). It was good but nothing to rave about. Still dreaming of that blackberry scone though. read more

Recently made my 3rd visit to this adorable coffee shop while vacationing in Seaside, and it certainly won't be my last. Each time I've visited during a different season, and their menu always offers at least several different beverages that reflect this. They have a good sized selection of gluten-free and vegan pastries, as well as a wide vary of dairy-free milk options (yes, oat milk included!) I recently tried their matcha latte, which was delicious. I love that they use high-quality ingredients without a bunch of added sugars and fillers. Along with their great food and beverage selection, the staff are all knowledgeable, friendly, and more than happy to help you create something delicious and personalized. The shop itself is nicely tucked away from the main shopping promenade while still easily accessible. It's cozy and warm without feeling cramped, and offers a nice retreat for those looking to spend some quality time sipping their beverage and taking a break. This is a 5 star business! Last Thursday (9-16-21) my daughter was getting married at Cannon Beach. The plan was to come here for the bride's family breakfast. A month earlier we confirmed they were open and two days before our event we were there to pre order our food.... We found out they were going to be closed due to staffing shortages... But the barista that met with us a month earlier said she would host our family for one hour since we had already planned the event. We showed up, a table was set, decorations hanging in the room and a enormous table full of incredible pastries was waiting for us! This home turned coffee house has some of the best ambiance in Cannon Beach. The staff is awesome, they've got a great selection of drinks and plenty of space to sit down. If you like chocolate then you have got to go with the Aztec Mocha. This drink is the perfect blend of not too sweet and not too strong with a rich chocolate finish. Insomnia Coffee is always busy, but they were pretty good about keeping the line moving and churning out coffee drinks. This Cannon Beach location has some decent tables to sit at and chat around (or do crafts on as we saw) but it's probably not the place to do work if you want quiet. I had a cardamom latte and it was delicious - just the right amount of sweetness and hot but not so hot to completely burn me. It inspired me to just start making my own cardamom infused milk for my coffee at home. We'd be back. read more

Today we went to Sea Level and the service was horrible and the coffee was sour. So we decided to come back to Insomnia. Again, glad we did. They nailed my dry cap. And the service here is AMAZING! We asked if they did a pour over or aero press coffee. They said they usually can do an aero press but one part of the aero press was missing and they weren't able to do them. We were surprised by that answer since they sell the aero press and there were three sitting on the shelf for sale. It's a puzzle why they didn't use one of them so they could continue to provide aero press coffee to their customers. Disappointing! read more

This place is super cute! Right next to the beach access and not right on the main road chaos. No seating or anything due to covid. They had a really nice flow inside from ordering to exit. Really would love to come back someday and just relax here. It's such a chill spot. My husband had a mocha and I had a chai. They only had spiced powdered chai which is something I really like but as a barista too I know some are picky on their chai so just throwing it out there. Overall love this place! read more

Love Insomnia coffee. Always go by when we are in town. My sister recommended them when she lived in Portland (where they have several locations). The staff has always been friendly and I've never tried anything I didn't love. This is place is the second reason I drive out to the Oregon Coast, and it only comes second the the ocean. ;) I love their coffee! They know how to make my Americano the way I like it--extremely delicious. These baristas know their stuff! If you are looking for a seriously delicious cup of coffee or a quad soy mocha. You just hit these people up! Not only are they super-proficient at pulling shots, but they are downright nice people who don't try to pull the coffee-snob card on you. If I understand right they even bake their own goods. So, that deserves some kudos, right? They were even nice enough to let me use their bathroom to change outta my wet beach clothes. I'm a big fan of both of Insomnia's Portland locations, so I was excited to hear that they opened a shop in my favorite little Oregon beach town! The inside has a great feel. I love the hardwood floors and the layout of the shop. Baristas were all very friendly and seemed happy to be there. Got the same great quality that I've come to love from Insomnia! They brew Sleepy Monk, which just happens to be roasted right down the road, delicious! I used to frequent Bella Espresso, but they seem to have really gone downhill as far as consistency goes in the last couple of years.
