The grease soaks through the bag in seconds. Don't walk around with this cookie tucked into your pocket or purse (or prison purse)
    Daniel L.

It may feel like I went out of my way to drag a business for a sub-$5 purchase but I was really looking forward to this cookie to brighten my day, so this was not an emotional-support-cookie experience and I think we should all be a little more honest about things that let us down, call it my everyday-Festivus with more festive airing of grievances. If you just want a cookie, you are going to have a different experience than me. But if you have it built up in your mind that this is an emotional-support-cookie, then you are also going to be right back here with your own dour one star review of this joint as soon as you can get back to the public library computers. This location of the chain was located on the second floor of the Trade St open air mall anchored by the Bowlero, which is bowling mixed with Mountain Dew. As I rode the escalator up I expected it to be cookie time, post-haste. As all the best media you can consume these days (like Brightburn) my dream quickly turned into a nightmare. It was a gentle enough transition at first, but at a certain point you really need to hold on to your hat, Margaret. As I walked in the only worker in sight was arguing with the only customer at the till, and it had a very boyfriend/girlfriend type of vibe to this particular argument. When I walked in it felt like all of the air went out of the room. The gentlesir quickly stomped out. I ordered a matcha cookie, whilst the cashier had that look shooting daggers at you like she wants you to leave, simply for you existing in her approximate vicinity while she was going through something. I should have read more into the look as divine phenomena or a warning to more tightly clutch my Hello Kitty backpack and run back out the other way; but I really wanted that matcha cookie. A few weeks ago in YVR I had an incredible matcha cheesecake donut from the legendary Lee's Donuts of Granville, which unlocked new matcha-in-foods potential for the rest of my life. This matcha cookie was supposed to match that energy from Granville. I had other bidness in CLT besides this cookie but this cookie was at the top of my list for personal stuff, so it was of-importance to my travel diary, rather than bumbling in off of the street just needing a jolt of sugar to continue on about my other bidness nearby. The cookie was small, which was merciful once you taste it so you will not be too wasteful once it immediately hits the rubbish bin. It was slightly larger than a Chips Ahoy in circumference. It was also dense. Very greasy, it soaked the paper sleeve as I walked less than five minutes back to my hotel room just in time for the terrible first bite to briefly ruin the beginning of a Rick & Morty episode. One bite cookie review: it has no smell which is odd for a cookie since cookie aromas are everything if you have ever visited a Levain; it tastes like dirt, which is not a good thing as far as this non-worm reviewer is concerned; and it has the consistency of hard-packed sand from the beach. Whichever daedric entity did this to besmirch the good name of cookie-kind everywhere (from my Simon-logic Oreos to my Arthur James Seuss doubles at Levain) committed a war crime on all cookiehood. This cookie is literally so bad I don't see how Insomnia became a chain out of it, unless there is a market demographic that likes a smell-less, sandy consistency, cookie that tastes of dirt. Charlotte elevated Bojangles into a national chain normal people actually want to eat at; your average Charlottian (Charlottini?) has to have common sense when it comes to food, so what happened here? Service was terrible. No ambiance. The worst cookie I have ever had one bite of and instantly binned the rest, banishing this monstrosity to the shadow realm far away from the finer cookies that occupy space in my life like the Halloween Oreos, the double at Levain, and miscellaneous. Charlotte is a beautiful city so you don't want anyone to judge the city and the people on a single experience here. But come here if you hate good, beautiful smelling cookies and want to torture yourself. Pretty sure Taylor Swift's Tortured Poets Department is about the time she ate a cookie at this dreadful shop of cookie tortures and likewise she regretted it, nay even felt tortured over the experience, even though it cost less than a sawbuck.

Location is one of the few remaining open store fronts in epic center. It's a pricey cookie but served warm and tastes good. The ice cream wasn't overly special but did add more flavor to the experience. Inside is small with only 4 stools at a single top bar by the entrance to eat within the store.

    quite possibly the same day...

so we were down to the epicenter waiting to get into the bowl-a-rama when I got a hankering for a really spendy cookie, luckily Insomnia was nearby to take care of that! I ambled over to have a look at the display case and menu board and opted for the four dollar choco-chunko and headed back into the heat with my prize which rapidly became a melty mess of chocolate smears inside the cookie pouch... the fun-zone was a shambles when we arrived so while mr. matthews made a few phone calls I cleared off a table and chair to sample my goods. I am confident that in its original form and venue the cookie was of high quality and quite delicious, in its current state of disrepair amid jumble and debris it would rightly considered frivolous (but still delicious) and so, alas, I must look elsewhere for a more cost effective sweetnesses.

These cookies are really good . The store itself is nice and clean... and obviously smells delicious. I thought the milk was too overpriced though.... almost 4 dollars for 1-2 dollar bottle of milk but I get it. Anyway, it's not somewhere I'll frequent often but I'll stop in from time to time to grab a chocolate chip cookie . Also, The staff didn't really greet us. Maybe they had a long day.

    Waiting .

First of all horrific service. The workers are moving like SNAILS.They don't look at you or ask to take your orders. Besides having to wait in line they take my order wrong .For 12 simple cookies I didn't ask for they took 1hour to come out and she clarified it would've 12 minutes!!! IS THW WAIT WORTH IT ????MOST DEFINITELY NOT! They have no public restrooms so

Quality and size is now disappointing. Cookies had an odd chemical smell to them and were much smaller than previous.

Didn't even look at us when we came up to cash register. As a matter of fact...didn't say a word. Better service would be a better cookie.

I logged on for the first time and thought the online ordering process was very simple. The site offers a variety of restaurants, access to view the menu, and the option to order immediately, or select a delivery time. So, I selected my restaurant, chose my items, and selected my delivery time for 7:30. After that you can indicate cash, or charge, and if you choose charge, include tip if desired. Note: most restaurants require a $15.00 minimum purchase and there is a $5.00 delivery fee. I arrived home and at 7:10 my doorbell rang. A very cautious delivery man was there and removed my meal from a heat proof bag. With that said the order was perfect, and warm. Overall, I was very satisfied, but do wish there are more restaurant options. I look forward to another crappy day to order again.

Foodie Call is a sweet little delivery service that gives hungry Charlotteans a great smattering of local eateries and menu items to choose from with a click of a button. The website is straightforward and you can easily check out all of the restaurants and their menus online. I've ordered from Foodie Call a handful of times and the food always arrives quickly and fresh as can be. I'm a big fan of the variety of restaurant cuisines offered on the site as my tastes and cravings are always a-changin'. Since their inception, Foodie Call has added a bundle of new restaurants to its arsenal, too. Sweet! As for their service, it's golden - from the order takers to the delivery peeps. One particular night, we selected a menu item that was unfortunately out of stock. Foodie Call was quick to call us back with an apology (not their fault whatsoever), took our new order and brought it to us in no time flat. Super sweet service. As of now, Foodie Call charges a flat $5 delivery fee and delivers to Uptown, South End, Dilworth, Elizabeth, Myers Park, Sedgefield, and Plaza Midwood. I'm a big proponent of solving problems with a creative solution. Hungry + lazy = make a Foodie Call.
