At their Plaza Midwood location they have jam/jelly, which I love spreading on their cheddar biscuit! Notes: Friendly and helpful staff! Line was super long when we arrived at around 11am on a Saturday. Got the Avocado Melt sandwich, Egg, Spinach, and Tomato on Cheddar Biscuit, Seasonal Coffee with almond milk, and a warmed croissant. Avocado melt sandwich was served super hot and tasty - melty cheese, veggies, and crispy sourdough made for a good bite. The egg cheddar biscuit was okay - biscuit was good but it could have used sauce. The coffee was pretty good. The croissant was served warm and was flaky and buttery - loved bites of the croissant with sips of coffee. Overall enjoyed our experience and this location is in the perfect spot for walking around and enjoying the neighborhood. read more

Unfortunately this place fell very short of my expectations. We went at noon on a Saturday and they were already out of most menu items. There were dirty plates all over almost every table inside so we ate outside. I got the Southern BLT on the rosemary sourdough bread and it was such a small sandwich- they really skimped on the fillings. They put the smallest little drop of pimento cheese it was almost like a joke haha. The bread was very dry and just didn't have that freshly baked taste. My companion got a breakfast sandwich and they were out of biscuits, croissants, and regular bread so he also got it on the sourdough. The size was also very small and just didn't taste like anything special. The only thing we really enjoyed were the iced lattes. They have a good seasonal selection of espresso beverages. read more

Cute place to grab breakfast or some pastries and coffee! This was on my list of places to visit during my weekend in Charlotte, and I'm so happy I stopped by. I came for breakfast on a Saturday morning around 8:30am. There were plenty of tables available both inside and outside when I arrived, but by 9:15 the place was packed! I got an egg and ham sandwich on rosemary bread, and my boyfriend got a bacon egg and cheese on a cheddar biscuit. It took about 10 minutes for the sandwiches to come out, and they were tasty and filling. The prices were high ($7.50-$8.50 per sandwich), but well worth it for the quality. We were plenty full by the sandwiches, but they were so good that we decided to grab pastries for the road. I got a banana chocolate chip muffin and my boyfriend got a croissant. Both were delicious. If we are ever in the area again we will definitely come back! read more

Coffee and food are good! but the chairs are cheap and there's always crumbs everywhere. And no WiFi. Good place to grab and go.

Friendly and nice place BUT that's where it stops. 1. Coffee was not good , tasteless , expensive. 2. Sandwich was all bread , equally lacked flavor , very expensive no less than $10 for a tiny sandwich and everything you add is EXTRA $. 3. WiFi doesn't work. 4. Outdoor seating is super loud with trucks and motorcycles and construction. 5. Construction workers, crack heads, and a view of the gas station - needs a lot more privacy I did not feel safe. I won't be returning to the south end location. read more

LOVE! Was so happy I stopped through. Was showing a friend around Charlotte and wanted to treat her out for some sweets. She has celiacs so it was a bit of a struggle to find somewhere close by (or even in the area) that had gluten-free options. We were walking around south end when we searched for Sunflour Baking Co. It's been on my list to visit and so glad it was within walking distance and they mentioned GF options. And omg, soooo worth it. I still think about the GF cheesecake. My friend LOVED it. She loaded up on treats before she left because she enjoyed it so much. So glad Charlotte has bakeries that are catering to folks with dietary restrictions. Love the inclusivity and the vibes at this location were on point. We got there near closing time and we weren't rushed. We got to enjoy our treats and people watch by the window. I stopped by this morning and my eyes were treated to a bunch of tasty goodness. Cookies, cinnamon rolls, pastries and other things looking yummy. They also have breakfast sandwiches and breakfast beverages you can order as well. It was a little hard to see this place from the street but I'm certainly glad I did. Parking was no problem as they have parking on the side and in the back lot. I went for the cinnamon roll for breakfast and 2 cookies for a later treat. The cinnamon roll alone was enough to give 5 stars. Super glad I don't live near here or I'm sure I'd be a regular. However, I can say without hesitation I'll be back. read more

You can eat in , outside or pick up to go. Great breakfast menu, amazing croissants, muffins, and big huge cinnamon rolls. I got the English muffin, which isn't like your grocery store type. This was thick and spongy , hot and chewy. Carb lovers dream! Also on the table we had, the avocado panini, on their delicious sunflower grain bread. Sliced avocado, goat cheese, walnut pesto and tomatoes and spinach. Served warm, veggie lovers favorites apparently! Was really good according to the empty wrapper at the end! The bacon, egg and cheese on a English muffin was also a favorite. They don't skimp on anything here. You get your moneys worth. The coffees were also really good and strong. Had the cappuccino, just nice cup of hot caffeine and really good steamed frothy foam. Really nice homey vibe inside. This place was hustling on a Sunday Mother's Day morning. I came in with a gift certificate, meaning I can be a future Customer. When I walked in, the cashier was in a full blown conversation and doesn't acknowledge me. The customer she was speaking with had to say something after me standing there for 60 seconds. When they moved to the side, the worker still doesn't say anything. Then here comes another worker...almost done the same. doesn't look at me, stands there for a brief moment, and says "I'll help him" Poor customer service. What I got was a thin layer of gross OLD tuna, no tomato and if there was cheese on it I couldn't taste it or see it. I took 3 bites and threw it out. It was pretty bad, I hope I don't get sick. For some reason, I have not been getting the caramel syrup -- that I pay for. I have also noticed a few new faces. Sunflower caught my attention while looking through Yelp for dessert spots while in town for work. I just had to seek out that delicious looking cinnamon roll I've been seeing in the pictures. I arrived at the charming little bakery and ordered the cinnamon roll and unfortunately they just sold the last one on the previous order. Better judgement prevailed and I didn't snatch it from the other customer and bolt. I ended up ordering the Morning Glory muffin which I have to say is one of the best muffins I've ever had. Dense with slight outer crunch. This muffin had all the things I like carrots, coconut, pineapple and raisins. I also received a free cookie from the lady at the counter. She must've seen how distraught I was from not getting the cinnamon roll. It was a nice gesture because that chocolate chip cookie was great as well. If I'm ever back in town I'll definitely go back to Sunflower. read more

We stopped in to buy a birthday treat for a coworker. It was pretty crowded with people eating lunch, so that seemed like a good sign. There wasn't a huge selection to choose from so we settled on a key lime pie ($27). It was very pretty and they boxed it up nicely. They even had plastic forks and knives we could grab to go. The pie was fine (not as good as my homemade key lime pie). I thought it was a little on the sweet side but the Graham cracker crust was very nice. I'll probably be back to try some pastries or a breakfast sandwich on a cheddar biscuit. Note: there is a decent sized parking lot behind the business. read more

Came for breakfast in the morning! Great place to start the day, has a good vibe as a cute regular breakfast spot. Pretty small inside though but they have outdoor seating. They also offer pastries in addition to the regular breakfast and lunch sandwiches which is a good combo to have! Foodwise, friend and I got 2 breakfast sandwiches on the English muffin and the biscuit. The sandwiches were made with simple ingredients (probably could put together at home) but were still good. We were introduced to this charming, bustling café while visiting friends in Charlotte. The breakfast sandwiches are perfection. Each starts with fluffy eggs, cooked in a square mold so there are no under/over done areas - just a perfect even egg. Additional toppings include cheese, avocado, and a several meats. You can choose from a variety of tasty breads, but obviously the cheddar biscuit is the best choice - flaky, cheesy, buttery, and substantial enough to support all the toppings you could want. We also tried the pumpkin apple muffin, which is like eating Autumn (a good thing). The coffee is strong and full-bodied, and with a splash of almond milk completes any breakfast. I have so much love and appreciation for this place. So, I took on the responsibility of choosing my sister's cake because my siblings all know how I am when it comes to food. I had to find something near my sister, that I could get to her in the best condition possible, while also coming through on flavor...I was BLOWN ABSOLUTELY AWAY. I called them 2 days before, hoping for a miracle (but it would have totally okay if they couldn't, which is why they're a godsend for accepting). They took the order, and I decided on almond vanilla, two of my favorite dessert flavors that I always love when they're incorporated. I asked for cute little designs like stickers, and a Libra symbol. I wanted simple, with a handmade vibe, but cute cause duhhh Libra! Lol. When I picked up the cake (which was done perfectly on time btw) I ordered a breakfast sandwich that was their fresh made in house croissant with bacon, egg, and cheese. The croissant was so fluffy and flaky, and the sandwich was absolutely fresh and delicious. Had to resist the idea of eating it all before I left with the cake omg. My sister loved the cake, and ended up ordering a cake for her Sagittarius girlfriend because she loved the one I got her for her birthday. Absolutely amazing service, and the quality can't be denied honestly. I absolutely loved everything about this place. I can't wait to visit my sister again, and stop by. read more
