Insomnia cookie is phenomenal. This Insomnia Cookie store was right around the corner from the Mooyah Burger. After my delicious burger, I stopped in for some dessert. Insomnia cookie offers several different cookie flavors like chocolate chunk, red velvet, snicker doodle, confetti, vegan birthday cake, and many more. They also offer brownies which I did know about until this visit. You can order your cookies or brownies in a box or with ice cream. The cookies are served warm. I went with the classic chocolate chunk cookie with ice cream. They have a variety of ice cream flavors, but I kept it basic with one scoop of vanilla and one scoop of cookies and cream layered on top of my warm chocolate chunk cookie. It was heavenly!! My very first experience at Insomnia Cookies was at this location. I had never seen this business in NYC at that time. I always visited the Campus of the University of Connecticut in Storrs. My family resides here. It's a small walk in store like the location I have come to frequently in NYC. I go inside purchase my cookies and have them for desert when I take my long bus ride back to the city. The cookies are the same delicious cookies at every location. The customer service is fast and smooth. No room or time for hesitation at Insomnia Cookies. I love this location in a cute shopping area. It's like a old fashioned public square. You can have a seat on a bench nearby and eat your cookie. Students come and go. This is their local shopping district! I'm glad to know this Insomnia Cookies is still here. My Uncle just turned 92! Ive never in my life experienced service like this. Man unfolded box in less than a second. (shocked me) I stumbled over my words (was lowkey flustered). Before I could look down from the menu the box was already constructed before my eyes. Shellshocked, I mistakenly ordered a peanut butter cookie (was garbage) it was very dry but I looked past it because of the workers love for the game. I think a dessert place that delivers hot cookies well into 3 in the morning has potential. It's an ingenious idea really. That being said, that's if you're up for paying a pretty penny for little cookies. Don't forget the delivery fees and taxes, that's an extra $5. So in total, you'll pay about $17 for a box of maybe 10 cookies? Cookies that are basically pre-made and packed in freezer bags, ready for heat up (AKA they're not even home-made/fresh cookies). Is it worth it? Not really. Save yourself the cash and buy a container of 20 cookies for $6 at the local Price Chopper. How can you screw up a cookie? You can make it really hard to get in touch with your store directly. I hate their online model. You can order online but you can't get a phone number or a human on the phone. I have had under-cooked cookies here twice and once they ran out of the peanut butter cup ones. I bought a deluxe peanut butter cookie. It was really delicious and warm. I like that this place does not leave all of their cookies on display so that eventually they become hard. I think that they leave their cookies in a warm heating unit so that they are always warm and gooey. However, the price is way too high for a single cookie. I paid 3.24 for one cookie which I think is way too high because you can make your own batch of cookies for the same price as just one.
