Hate how much I love this place!!! Their cookies are incredible but so expensive. I love that that come out warm, but hate that they stack them in a tiny box. My cookies end up melting together and they break easily. Still delicious though. I love the chocolate chunk and s'mores ones the most, but never met an Insomnia Cookie I didn't like. They're also usually very quick and you can be in and out in a matter of minutes. I like that they're open late for those late night cravings too! read more

Finally tried the infamous Insomnia Cookies, and it was just ok. I ordered the snickerdoodle and they were delicious . Not a lot of variety on the menu. You can't go wrong with snickerdoodle . The cookie was soft and warm . The location was perfect and not busy at all . Thank god. The cashier was very nice and knew the menu well. Always a plus. Ambience was plain and simple. read more

I think it was around $3 for a tiny little cookie. It was fresh and warm, but I wouldn't come back unless I was really craving something sweet. Better just to go down to the Whole Foods down the street and get a bag of coookies. read more

Can't go wrong with the cookie ice cream sandwiches- EVER! Stopped in for late night on a weekend and they were sold out of a lot but the girl working there was lovely and very apologetic. She made great recommendations on what was available so we obliged. Sat at the bar stools and had our treat. I love this place so much simply because they have rich sweets (my weakness) and they're the only game in town open late. 10/10 recommend! read more

Great spot to fill your sweet tooth void. The caramel ice cream is awesome here. So Is the cookie dough. Their cookies are baked very fresh and served warm. Price a little steep but it's one of the only fresh cookie outfits in town. read more

TERRIBLE SERVICE... always. Who owns this place? Phone is off, deliveries take 2+ hours. They lie to people when you come in and say they aren't serving this or that. And they shut down hours early.... Change your hours maybe??? Jesus. read more

Probably 3rd on my favorite list of sweets would be brownies. I decided to try an Insomnia's brownie during a visit to the CWE area. 2.5/5 Chocolate Chip Brownie: This was really nothing to write home about but enough to write a yelp review. lol It tasted much like the brownie from Quiktip and was about the same size. I actually like the brownie from Quiktip but it only costs $1.69. The brownie from Insomnia was $3.53. I felt it was too pricey giving its average taste. I will just stick to Insomnia's chocolate chip cookies from now on!! read more

Poor service. We came in an hour before closing asking for an ice cream sandwich, employee said they're not scooping ice cream anymore. We came in 15 minutes later and they're scooping ice cream for other customers. Mid day eddy had me craving something sweet and filling. I went to the bathroom and I looked in the mirror and didn't even recognize myself. I saw the Cookie Monster- I was the Cookie Monster. 30 minutes later I had a box of 4 deluxes, really 5 deluxes cause they guy added another one for free cause he also probably saw a Cookie Monster in me. Visited this evening and ordered 6 cookies. Saw on a kiosk an advertisement for buy 6 cookies and get 6 cookies free in store only purchase. We asked about that promo since I purchased 6 cookies and was abruptly told it was an online only option. We asked where does it say that and they just kept repeating it was online only and they don't even have a button on their register for it. Someone who may be the manager cane from the back to continue to argue with me and told me I was rude, in front of my family and other customers. I just wanted to understand why advertise something and not honor it. She continued to go to the back of the store and give me and my dirty looks. And we waited over 10 minutes for cookies that they said would take just 2 minutes to cook. I will never visit this location again, very unprofessional and horrible service. read more

Coworker and I came in today (12/30/2021) in scrubs and with our hospital badge to claim a free cookie for essential workers. The lady there told us promotion is over and sounded a bit annoyed. Insomnia's official page is still up and claims it's good until 1/2/2022 so pretty disappointing. read more

Would have left zero stars if possible! Door was locked at 7:00pm on a Wednesday. Sign was on that said open. Had to knock on the door. Lady that came to the door said that she wasn't taking any orders right now she had a delivery to put away and to come back in 30 minutes. We were visiting from out of town and it was our 4 year old son's birthday. Customer service definitely lacking! read more

This small cookie-only bakery offers a terrific cookie. Selection is not as diverse as I would have thought. The mainstays of peanut butter, double chocolate, oatmeal raisin, M&M, Macadamia, sugar and chocolate chip are in place. Add snickerdoodle, double chocolate mint and a gluten-free chocolate chip and there's not much more else to the menu. read more

Came here late at night a few days ago, employee was very friendly! We read poor reviews about Insomnia, but it sounded good so why not. We ordered cookies which hadn't been made yet, so we walked around for 10 minutes until they were ready. We were told they're going to be the "freshest cookies you've ever had". Giggled and waited for results. The cookies were a 3 at best, over cooked and not soft inside. Insomnia reminds me of any other cookie you'd get at the store, or worst. Insomnia Cookies has the perfect name. If it's late at night and you have a hankering for a warm, fresh baked cookie and/or ice cream, that even delivers, Insomnia Cookies may be the blessing that you've been praying for. They are open til 3am, so even a snack after a night at the bar or club is possible with Insomnia Cookies. I had my first encounter with Insomnia Cookies yesterday in the CWE. I will say that the attendant was nice, but kind of seemed like he didn't want to be there. Even my sister commented that it would be a dream come true if she worked in a late night cookie bakery but eh, to each his own. Maybe that's just his personality, who knows? We came after eating lunch at around 2:15 pm. Had it not been for the calorie listing right on the menu (Keep me in check, Lord!), I would have gotten way more than the one, solitary chocolate chunk cookie that I got. I could feel how warm, gooey, and freshly baked it was, when it was put in my hand in its little baggy. I didn't eat it for about an hour and even at that time, it was still warm and gooey. The chocolate was really, really rich! Now, the truth.... Was it the best cookie that I've ever tasted? No. Was it a good cookie? Absolutely. Will I return? Hell yeah, if the craving for a fresh delicious cookie hits me and I happen to be in the area. Plus the ice cream accoutrement is definitely an added bonus! read more

Ordered online. Still waiting for pickup after an hour. Staff has no idea when cookies will be ready. Not completely sure we will ever be served. Never, ever, again. UPDATE: After an hour wait, a staff member came out to advise that many of the cookies on their menu were no longer available at that store. Meaning my order: placed at 1030 for pickup around 1045 - hadn't started yet. Other orders for 1115 and later were still being delivered (Slowly). But there were at least 10 of us waiting for over an hour with no idea what was going on. Online status showed "ready for pickup" but really hadn't even gone into an oven yet. Stranger still - when order was delivered, only one cookie was hot/warm. Everything else cold. Many customers were being sent away after being told and I quote "sometimes customer service just cancels an order, we don't know why" Lastly: since no customers were allowed inside, apparently it's OK to smoke inside now. Several employees were seen on their phones smoking e-cigarettes while making cookies. Personally, I don't care, but I'm pretty sure that's a health code violation. read more

Do you like your cookies soft and moist or dry and crunchy? If you like them like I do, soft and moist, you'll enjoy Insomnia Cookies. They are hot, fresh, chewy and they have cold milk too. You may ask, it they're made the way I like them, then why only 3 Stars? It is because of the unfriendly staff who are more concerned about conversing amongst themselves then providing top notch customer service. Another reason for only 3 Stars, is the offering of ice cream. They boosted that they had Prairie Farms ice cream, as if it were a gourmet ice cream. Don't get me wrong, I like PF. I was raised on a dairy farm and we use to sell our milk to PF. It's local, which is great, but I can get PF at my local grocery store. Give me something like Blue Bell that is unique to ST Louis. Good cookies, poor customer service, but your sweet tooth will be satisfied. read more

I have always had good experiences with insomnia cookies! Unfortunately, this time was extremely disappointing. To start, we placed our order at 8:40pm and they called ten minutes later to ask what we wanted instead of an item they were out of (which was nice). Next thing we know it has been an hour. We then called and they acted like it was on its way, mind you the destination was only 5-7 minutes away. Then, another 30 minutes goes by and we call again and it was just leaving insomnia to be delivered to us. Two hours later we received our order, I open the bag to find this spoonful of ice cream that was supposed to be an ice cream sandwich. I have had an ice cream sandwich from them before and I know there should have been much more ice cream in the container. Overall, I do not suggest using the delivery service insomnia provides and to just go to the location for a better experience. read more

Ordered the French onion soup, as this was the reason I came. Taste was great, but the soup had a thicker consistency than I was used to. As others have said, lots of cheese on top, which isn't necessarily bad.

The step-less entry into the parlor has the offerings displayed largely on the main wall so you can see what flavors are available. The best flavor of the spring is the goat cheese and red cherry. A now discontinued specialty flavor, salted caramel, is the best so if you see those bright orange pints - buy one for me! The prices have gotten a little higher over the years but for specialty flavors and proper proportions, it can be justified if you are in the mood for a sweet treat. Plus that smell of freshly made waffle cones and bowls makes it all worth it. The service is also top-tier. The servers never seem to be annoyed with how many flavors I ask to sample and with every sample they describe the texture and flavor profile of the ice cream. There is a restroom inside the parlor, but you need a code from the servers to get in as it is more of a public space. It is wide enough for a wheelchair, but you may require assistance as the door is a little heavier.
