This is our go-to whenever we visit family in NY. After tonight's visit I would say the taste of the gelato has changed since our last visit (maybe due to owner change?). All 7 in our party agreed the taste of the gelato isn't as good as it used to be and the whipped cream wasn't great. The service was great but the group of kids literally yelling in the back room for most of our visit was obnoxious. Would probably go back but wouldn't be a must do for us anymore. read more

I am taking off a star for the smell in the place, otherwise the ice cream was great! We came here on a Saturday night and only waited like a minute to sit down. Our waitress (I wish I knew her name) was very personable and friendly. I was a first timer there and was impressed by the amount of flavors on the menu. The only thing that would have been nice is a simple description of the flavor of the flavor names they created instead of having to bother the waitress with asking what they were. Each of us were between 2 different flavors and she brought over samples for us. I got the brownie sundae. I had the exotic cookie and confetti ice cream over a warm brownie. The brownie was very rich. I was done after a few bites. My husband got the waffle sundae. He had cookie dough and peanut butter ice cream. His waffle was so fresh! It tasted better than Krisch's! We did not care for the whipped cream as we expected a homemade version like Krisch's (Krisch's won this one!). The prices are very fair and I would definitely return. This cafe is diner style and the staff is very friendly. I came here with two friends and a baby. They are very accommodating for children and had a high chair for the baby. I ordered an egg white omelet with mushrooms, spinach, and Swiss cheese. It was delicious and came with hash browns and sautéed onions. I really enjoyed my meal. It also came with toast. One of my friends got a quiche and the other one got a burger and they were both satisfied with their meals. Service was great and the food was well priced. I would definitely come back read more

I just keep having great food experiences here! The first time I ordered curbside pick up I was wow'd--- with the portions, amount of condiments, extras and quality of food. I placed another pick up order just recently and had another wonderful experience. Even the women who brought out the order both times were super nice. We ordered 2 Italian burgers, a steak sandwich, large Greek salad and sausage and pepper hero. Everything from the flatbread and breadsticks to the sauces were awesome! They just really hit the nail on everything! My little one and I shared the Italian burger, which was devoured instantly! The burgers were cooked perfectly and the bread was crusty on the outside, garlicky and soft on the inside. All the sandwiches came with lettuce and tomato, plenty of fries, coleslaw and pickles. The flatbread even came with an amazing yogurt dip! I really couldn't ask for a better meal. My dad who usually finds something wrong with every take out order these days (HA!) thoroughly enjoyed his sausage and pepper hero! A decent diner. Went with friends tonight for dinner. I got the Ruben sandwich and my wife got a Monte Cristo chicken sandwich. Both were good. Decent portions. My friends got their meals and dessert as well which looked very good. I believe this place is known for its desserts, so we'll have to try those some day. For some reason they forgot our water with our meals which isn't a big deal. The restaurant is cash only so make sure to bring physical money. Also, there is an up charge on pretty much any substitution. Which I don't see much. Decent overall, I enjoyed my food. read more

You can get all kinds of breakfast fare, Mexican delights, hearty Italian dishes, burgers quesadillas waffles and of course fries onion rings soups chicken wings, whatever your heart yearns for at the time. International cafe is a great casual place, with very energetic and friendly young servers. They'll give you a pleasant dining experience no matter when you arrive. Great spot in the village of bellmore. Been coming here for years for their amazing gelato and finally came for dinner and was not disappointed. The place is basically a diner with some really good food. Better then your average diner. For dinner i got the hot roast beef sandwich with mozzarella on garlic bread and my wife got the patty melt. Both were awesome. The garlic flavor on the roast beef sandy was awesome and the roast beef almost tasted like it was marinated in a French dip sauce. The patty melt also had great flavor, mainly due to the awesome sauteed onions. For dessert we had to get gelato. They have a ton of flavors and combos. The portions are also huge. We got a small which is essentially four scoops. We went the the scouts honor and cookie extravaganza. Overall a great spot for food and dessert. Only thing is its cash only!!!!! Well that's what this place is to ice cream. Famous for years in RVC this Bellmore village location is just as good for stopping in and finding amazing top quality high volume, serious business ice cream and gelato. This is how chocolate ice cream is supposed to look! Dark and really good.. the real deal! Tiramisu, cannoli, black raspberry, all done really well. I stopped into a cute ice cream shop in the Hamptons last week and they told us they get their ice cream here. Its a safe bet that you will love something in here. Finally decided to get the big tub which can have 5 flavors for a little more than 10 bucks since that was the best value. Chose 5 different flavors with great difficulty. Stopped in with a party of 10 on a Saturday night and didn't have to wait to be seated. The place is very casual and the atmosphere is super laid back. However, it seems like they take their food pretty seriously. Everyone in my group was happy with their meal. I had the International salad with grilled shrimp (got a dozen shrimp for just $3.50 extra) with raspberry vinaigrette and it was excellent. My bf had a bacon cheeseburger and he said it was good. The fries were Cooked perfectly and served nice and hot. After dinner, he had the double dough gelato which, of course, I sampled. It was a little too sweet for me but he enjoyed it. I tasted the cookie dough, rum raisin, cake batter and peanut butter cup which were all delicious. I decided to go with the Nutella gelato which was heavenly. It's important to note that a single scoop is a large enough portion for the average adult. I'd guess it's about 8oz even though they call it "kid size." Ordered delivery for the second week in a row through their website/toast and both times we had issues with the order. Last time we had 3/4 of a drink leak all over the food in the bag and all over our house, we were missing an order of ice cream and were missing cookie crunchy toppings that we paid for. We called and they made it right by giving a partial gift card refund for the missing items (we were disappointed but totally understand that mistakes happen but atleast they made an effort to correct it) Tonight our order of chicken soulvaki was missing the tzatziki sauce (which totally makes the dish) so we called over and the girl on the phone apologized and asked if we'd like the driver to drop it off so we said yes (we were also going to tip him again because it's not his fault and felt bad making him come back just for missing sauce) but then she told us to hold on a second, spoke to someone in charge and got back on the phone and said that we need to come to the restaurant and get the sauce ourselves. We explained that we ordered delivery because we can't run out and paid a $6.99 delivery fee plus Tip. (We Spent Over $15 total just to have it delivered and now you want me to run out and get my missing item) and it didn't matter, they Still wouldn't send someone over with it. So pretty much Spent $26 for the dish and Ended up eating it bone dry with no sauce... disappointing but atleast the ice cream was good. We've been ordering from here a few times a month the last few months but probably not doing delivery anymore if they can't get it right and charge a $6.99 delivery fee for wrong orders where they want me to come to the restaurant anyways. read more

New owners definitely not as good as the old ones.. Understaffed and prices are insane. Today I got two 2-scoops and one 1-scoop and it cost me 22 dollars....this would have cost me about 12 dollars with the previous owners (Yes, I know prices of everything increased, but this is insane!) I also waited for about 20 minutes & I was the second person on line for ice cream. Well, I was actually the third. The owner skipped over someone who was waiting first, to chat with and serve an old friend while the line behind me grew outside the door. He proceeded to openly not charge this friend for his ice cream then finally went back & helped the man he skipped over. I was then helped by the one girl working the counter aside from the owner. We gathered here for a long overdue girl's meetup and some of our party ended up being reeeeaaaaal late, but the staff was understanding. Those of us who got there on time ordered dinner - I went with a simple tossed salad with grilled shrimp, lemon juice as dressing... delicious, light, came out real quick. Not too mention the thing is massive. When the rest of our party arrived, we got on the dessert menu. We were frequently interrupted because we kept chatting so much so every time the waiter came around we had to ask for one more minute... I bet we were pains in the butt. I ordered a simple fruit bowl to go with my healthy picks and I'm slightly confused because it seems there may be some syrup on the fruit. I've been eating at International Delight for close to 20 years. The old owners were bought out recently and for a while not too many changes were made to the food. Recently when I went in, we ordered generally the same dishes. I am starting to see a change in the food quality (not in a good way) where things like a Ceasar salad was watery, the fry sauce was spicy (doesn't need to be), home fries were salty were a couple of observations. I don't want to see this place go down the path of messing things up from a solidly run business. I really do like the people working at international delight. I will say they are trying to modernize things a bit with touch screens but I do enjoy the charm of the old cash register. read more

This is a great dessert spot with plenty of room. I've been coming here for years and the ice cream is always fantastic! I had a meatball sub once and I remember it being a little dry. Back to the ice cream though, my favorite is chocolate elephant! They have so many different flavor combinations that you really can't run out of things to try here. I highly recommend coming! Fantastic pancakes last night and great service from friendly waitress. The gelato was a surprise that I took home with me. Awesome peanut butter flavor with chunks of soft chocolate. I like ice cream firmer than most people so often I like to put it in my deep freezer that is a few degrees below my normal one, This gelato or ice cream stayed nice and creamy and the included condiments perfect.
