Excellent place to stop if you are passing thru town on the 95. The owner and staff are fantastic as is their brisket! I'm a BBQ expert and these guys do it right. The meat is tender and moist and the sandwich had a nice portion. Also, the smoke flavor was just right- some place over smoke their meat(like some people I know)... but not here- they have just the right amount of smoke flavor using Applewood per the owner I believe. Also the MacnCheese is basic but good, and the slaw is fresh. I suggest the sandwich which I had, or a Brisket plate. Nicely done !!! read more

Cozy family friendly oasis in New Meadows with great service and friendly staff. Lovingly smoked meats and home made sides. Nice beer and wine selection. I enjoyed the brisket and a side salad with cornbread. Brisket was smoked to perfection, moist and not too fatty, Delicious! I also was able to try the smoked ribs and tri-tip and all were wonderful. Went last night, 29 Jan. I wish I could give 6 stars. There were 8 of us, 4 adults and 4 kids. No reservations. The staff couldn't have nicer and more accommodating. Friendly attentive and professional. We all had so much fun. The food is always so very good. Screw the tourist trap restaurants in McCall. This place is amazing. read more

Stayed the night in New Meadows on my way through. The gal at the motel suggested this place. They were very busy, and dealing with a lack of employees like everyone else. Service was still pretty quick and the food was amazing. Had the 1/2 chicken with Mac and cheese and potatoes salad. Best bbq I have had in a long time. It doesn't have sauce on it, just smoked. You have 4 bottles on your table to choose from. Full beer and liquor bar as well. Would definitely stop here again. read more

I really like this place when the food is cooked well. I've had brisket that was super tender and delicious. I've also been disappointed by baked beans that were undercooked to the point of being slightly crunchy. I've had the adult mac and cheese be a mountain of comfort food deliciousness. I've also had it just be a normal portion, which was disappointing after the XL. So today I went for the brisket platter with mac n cheese and salad for the sides. $16 is spendy for a meal, but I love that brisket and decided to splurge. And I'd probably have some leftovers. Got a beer too, even though they only have four micros plus Pabst on tap, none of which I was very interested in. Salad - nothing great but perfectly passable for a BBQ place. Mac and cheese - delicious. Love it. Cornbread with honey butter - very good. Fresh and moist. And the brisket - Ah the brisket! So looking forward to the wonderful succulen - wait a minute, this brisket is stringy, dry and tough. Three pieces that seem like they have been in a warmer tray for a few hours. Grrr... I choke it down anyway, but what a disappointment. And just to throw a little salt in the wound, when the bill comes, the brisket is $17, not the $16 listed on the menu. With the beer, tax and a middling tip, I'm over $25 and don't even go home with any leftovers. I'll probably go back again since options are so limited around here, but I'm getting less and less excited about it. read more

I know good barbecue (but I guess everyone thinks they do) and this place was great barbecue! This little country karaoke bar was nothing short of spectacular. Everything I tasted was amazing, from the nachos to the sandwich bun. The meat was flavorful and smoky, and the bread was fresh and doughy. To top it all off the employees were warm and friendly. The BBQ meats were so tasty! The house salad was nice and fresh and the Thousand Island dressing, was spot on. The beer was icy cold and the Ice Tea was perfect. This restaurant is maybe good for locals but didn't get feeling that I was welcomed in my experience. I ordered a full back ribs for my dinner. Waited almost 30 min until got served. Surprisingly I found the food was cold like they just took it from refrigerator and cook for 3 min in the microwave. Asked nicely the server to reheat it for me but she just grab the plate quickly away from my table. She didn't even apologize to serve a cold BBQ. Very rude. Slowest service ever, everything is super salty, and the meal seemed overpriced. Even though we were seated right away, we spent ninety minutes there, and about seventy minutes of that was spent waiting. Waiting to be acknowledged, waiting to place our orders, waiting for the side salads to arrive, waiting for the meal to arrive, waiting for the check. The server never once came back after bringing out the meals to see if we needed anything, and my husband finally got up and walked to the kitchen to ask for the check. The portions are large, and the side salad was nice, but we definitely won't be back. They have pretty great brisket and the sides are great. The pulled pork isn't worth writing home about and the ribs are just decent. But the brisket and sides make it worth a trip over.
