My warning light was illuminated on my vehicle after I had to jump start it after our deep freeze. I took my car to my dealership, Fort Collins Dodge Chrysler Jeep for servicing. They charged me $185 to test the batteries, which took 6 hours. Then they told me I needed new ones (my car comes with an auxiliary battery) at a cost of over $650. I wanted to check out battery prices before I committed. Interstate Batteries on Willow quoted one half the price. When I got to their shop to buy my batteries, Chris tested them in a matter of 4 minutes. He discovered I didn't need new batteries, I just need to charge them fully every once in awhile. I've been an Interstate Battery customer for years, as I've always had good experiences here, but recently I had a truly stand-out experience I wanted to share. My Honda Fit's battery died, so after getting a jump-start to limp downtown, the gentleman who helped me, Scott, determined that the battery needed to be replaced. Scott quickly disconnected my old battery, grabbed a new one, and got the new one connected. WHEE! WHEE! WHEE! the car's alarm started to blare. This is an after-market system that had not worked in over a decade... I have no idea why it chose this moment to spring into life. I also didn't have the fob with me, or any information about the system (brand, etc. that might have told us who to call). So Scott disconnected the new battery and came up with a plan. My dad was able to bring an old fob to the shop, to try to use that to shut off the alarm. But the fob didn't work either (even with a new battery installed in IT.) Fortunately, one thing the fob DID have was an 800 number. I called that, and even though it was after hours, I managed to speak with someone who mentioned a special button under the dash, and a procedure that would allow us to shut off the alarm. So you guessed it: Scott felt around until he found the button, and together we managed to shut off the alarm system (which once again allowed the car to be turned on and functional). He was SUCH a great sport about the whole thing, which took up more than an hour of his time. I was already a dedicated customer, having had prior good experiences here. But Scott's patience and creativity were so wonderful and definitely made it clear, we are never going anywhere else for our batteries!! read more

Went to Interstate for an automotive battery replacement. Telephoned before going, to ensure the business had a battery in-stock for my particular vehicle. Once there, Chris who helped me on the phone, also helped me with the replacement. He checked the vehicle charging system and added a 'power device' which prevented the electronics from loosing my settings (ie. Audio entertainment, Sat-Nav, etc.), and installed the battery. I'm extremely satisfied with the service and highly recommend this business for your battery needs. read more

This place is a gold mine! Not only do they have high quality products, but they also offer rebuilds. I've been able to get a battery for $45 instead of $180. It had a 6 month warranty and it's going on 2 years. Not only is the business clean, but every staff member I have ever interacted with has been friendly and helpful. I feel like I'm visiting friends that just happen to be battery experts. My alternator was bad this last time, and they walked me through some very helpful tips, and went above and beyond to look out for us. This place is one of the reasons Fort Collins remains amazing.
