Unfortunately my husband was out of town so it was up to me to jump her car. We got the car started knowing Advance Auto Parts would be closing very soon. She started heading that way and I called them. I spoke to Tom and told him she was was headed that way and would be cutting it very close to closing time. He told me the two battery options without trying to push me to the more expensive one. He said he would pull the battery and would be ready for her. She pulled in at 8:31. Tom could have closed the door and said too bad. But he not only had the battery waiting for her, he installed it and had her on the road in less that 15 minutes. Spark plugs and coils had been replaced with non-OEM, low-quality components prior to shipment. During the claim process, repeated requests for video evidence delayed resolution by several days. Additional inspection revealed a completely melted oil separator. As a result, replacement of pulleys, belts, spark plugs, coils, intercooler, and multiple front-end seals was required, totaling over $1,800 in additional costs beyond engine swap labor. The condition of the engine effectively required extensive rebuilding. Despite clear documentation, the total refund issued was only $375. The final cost, including parts and labor, exceeded $10860.
