I was notified by Valvoline and my dealership that I was running low on my 2021 Hyundai Kona battery. I called and the gentleman said yes we have one we'll take a look to see if we can install for you upon coming in. I promptly went to this location because it was going to save me about $200 verses the dealership. Immediately, he treated me as if he didn't want to help. Muffling things like "oh my reader is saying I shouldn't touch your car" "the dealer is a criminal they want to steal your money, I've worked there before" "turn your car on and off, nothing is wrong with this battery" "there's too many warning codes" .... I had paperwork saying I needed a battery and it threatened my integrity. I grew up around the car business and this is NOT how you treat a customer that ultimately pays your bills. I am a young professional that takes exceptional care of my paid off well maintained vehicle. I felt discouraged, frustrated and unseen. He then told me "if I put the battery in, and you have to get it towed to the dealer don't blame me". Sir, what happened to you just saying you COULDN'T replace my battery? I feel almost profiled. As a woman, by herself I hope that he doesn't treat others this way as the face of Advance Auto Parts. I went to AutoZone and they felt SO embarrassed that I was treated this way at ANOTHER company, their competitor nonetheless that they gave me an extra 20% off and instantly put the battery in, took away the old one and even SHOOK MY HAND. I hope this is a learning lesson for associates at Advance Auto, I'll never come back. read more

So I went in to buy rotors for my car. The salesman gave me the wrong rotors. I gave him all the information of my make and model. Honest mistake on his part. So I go back a few days later to swap them out for the correct rotors. Well the manager Jeff was very rude and arrogant. He also tried charging me 26$ more for the rotors I need which were cheaper than the ones they gave me. He doesn't need to be a manager. He's not good in customer service. Really he doesn't need to interact with customers at all. I will no longer be using advanced auto in dawsonville. I've now wasted 3 hours of driving and time,gas to get the correct rotors from advanced. read more

This is a good location - the staff is generally knowledgeable, although I had a bit of an issue with some brake rotors I purchased. I gave the gentleman my vehicle's parameters, and he suggested some rotors. Unbeknownst to me, he recommended a sport model of rotors that were about 1" larger than the standard size. I tore my entire wheel assembly apart and went to put on the rotors....and realized they were too large. I then had to reassemble everything back together and return to the store to exchange the rotors for the correct ones. I was a bit frustrated, but realize this was an honest mistake and something anyone could have done. As mentioned, the gentleman that helped me was quite friendly and knowledgeable. My car really need a thing to fix it . It is about to be broken . It only take 1 minute for me to buy just a thing . They didn't want to sell it for me . I walked in at 8:59. They said i walked in at 9pm we close at 9pm . The employees in there didn't even want to stand up to take care their customers. So so disappointed. Popped in here because I need new windshield wiper blades for my car. Expected to have my husband install them, but this sweet gentleman named Tyler surprised me and said he could install them for me. He was actually excited about installing them. WIN for both me & the hubby! Would definitely go back here again because Tyler's attentiveness and recommendation was spot on. Getting a $10 mail in rebate definitely sweetened the pot. This review is really for the location on 20 at Samples road but can't find location on yelp. Pretty new. Called to see if the had a battery in stock for my model make of car and they did- needed it after a good clean up and oil change earlier. Went in, got a good battery 3 years for a Lexus for $120, and the guy installed it for me within 15 min. Not expecting to have to do it, and to be in and out quick. I love most all advanced as they have a knowledgable staff and positive attitude. Alex took care of me today, never complained, real can do attitude- so yes, I did tip him $10. Recommend to always try your local or nearest one for testing the water but in most cases, Advance always comes through. Highly recommend. read more

I have been to this location a few times, so when my battery became a casualty of the winter storms i assumed this is where i had purchased it. When Frank (I'm hoping I got the name right) came out, he told me immediately that it was not from Advance, but told me the exact battery I had, the warranty that it had, and where I had bought it! Okay, most associates don't know their own stuff, this guy knew the competitions! He gave me a price on a new battery, but suggested I call the other shop to check on the warranty. I did call, and they offered to replace it for $50 as opposed to the $112 of a new battery. Frank then offered to jump start my car to be able to get there. Fantastic experience! They may not have gotten the sale that day, but this location has a client for life! read more

Worst experience at this store today. Generally, 1/2 the employees are just not the friendliest...not much personality. I went today to buy blades. One of the store clerks was helping someone make some returns and one guy was in the phone with a customer. There are two in line waiting to check out one of them being me. After awhile the guy that was on the phone hung up and started dropping the F bomb. He walked to the back for about 5-7 minutes and finally came back up. At this time, it's been 20 minutes still waiting to check out. He then hugged and puffed and sighed and said extremely rudely "next in line". Never once looked at us and acted like we were unconvincing him. I'm not giving my business to a place like this so I walked out. I won't be back even though it's the closest to my house. This person should not be working in a customer oriented business. If management wants to know who it was, it was a tall Caucasian male. There was another person there at that time who was friendly...I believe his name was Will. It was around 5pm. read more

A-OK TODAY! Service could have been taken to another level if my item had been pulled and waiting for me when I arrived. I had instructed my husband to call ahead and have the item pulled and ready so as to expedite the process, ( It is just after 10 am on a Sunday morning so I am not expecting them to be busy). Although my husband had asked for the item to be pulled, it was not. When I arrive, the part is not ready and waiting and I have to wait until the guy actually climbs up on the ladder to search for it. It doesn't take too long to find the part and check out is expedited because we are already registered and in the computer. Service was fast and efficient and the guys were very nice. We are return customers and have always had a positive experience. read more

A pathetic excuse for an auto parts store. Not because they do not have parts. They have Parts. What they do NOT have is customer service, a positive attitude, or a friendly demeanor. Asking them to look up a part, help with a battery test, or even DO THEIR JOB is a huge bother. They are too busy socializing!!! I have put up with these foibles for a long time due to the location's closeness to my home. I could drive twice as far for the same parts for either a different Advance Auto parts store, or go to this one. When I have a vehicle down speed can be key. BUT... Warranty is also key. This location does not enter your purchases into the warranty system in a consistent manner. Nor will they own up to their failings. Thus they do not honor warranties. Other stores WILL honor their warranties because they know that this store is a cancer in the enterprise. So if the morons at this location refuse to honor your warranty, go to another store. They know the drill with this store.... They will treat you like your business matters AVOID THIS STORE AT ALL COSTS! read more

These are bad people. I religiously buy auto parts from Advance Auto. They sold me a LED part that doesn't work in my vehicle. I went to return and they wouldn't refund even though it was returned item in its original packaging. They didn't even carry a part to help me. I would have exchanged. Then there is this woman named Sonny. She is the worse sales rep. She told a rep that they didn't need to say sorry to me. Really? Don't do business here. read more

I was told by a competitor that my battery was dying so I stopped by to have it tested. Tyler A. came out and tested it, the tester indicated OK but with a slight drain, we noticed a bulge on the side of the battery and by the way, it was 35 degrees and raining. A simple replacement of the battery became complicated when we realized the battery cable had seized to the battery post. Tyler improvised and replaced the connector to the post which allowed me to leave with a new battery. I appreciate his persistence and help in the adverse weather conditions. read more

I had a dead battery in my car. Jumped it and brought it to this Advance Auto Parts location. It turns out the battery was purchased from Advance in November 2012, but there was no record of it in their system. The battery had a sticker on it indicating when it had been installed. The manager, who goes by the name Tuggle, said he'd be damned if he was going to let me get stuck anywhere with what's obviously his battery, on his watch. He replaced it free of charge without any question. This company has earned my business for life. They should earn yours, too. read more
