True story. Interstate Truck Center a nationwide road service company out of Missouri recently had a mechanic working for them whose wife had 2 heart attacks in one day and after she was released from the hospital she was going to need constant care while she recovered. The mechanic spoke with hr and took his vacation the first week. The second week he requested FMLA to care for his wife. Later that day this company called the mechanic and gave him 2 options work and keep his job or take care of his wife and lose his job. He of course chose his wife. In retaliation the company refused to pay him his vacation pay for the vacation time he had already taken. Now he has been forced to sue this company for FMLA violations and in the process has already found over 70 former and current mechanics that this company has screwed out of money and as a result a class action lawsuit is being filed. I wanted to share this story so everyone can be careful before they use a company like this and to get the word out incase there are people out there that this company has screwed and needs to be part of this suit. read more

As a previous employee ( left on my own) I can not stress enough when advise everyone "stay away from this company". This has got to be the most unethically ran company I have ever seen in my 20 years (+) in transportation. Not only do they lie, they gouge their customers, we, on a daily basis were told to take calls knowing we could not fix units, just to get minimum charges from customers. The place is run like a sweat shop. They do NOT have locations all over the US they have a few mobile units here and there with one actual shop. They charge "vendors" to say they are affiliated with them, or are ITC shops to get advertising rights on breakdown websites, with the promise of business, but never actually give them business. it is just easier and cheaper to look up local diesel mechanics on google! Wish I could give zero stars. We are a small hometown towing company out of Oregon. We received a dispatch to tow a vehicle 21 miles out of our service area. We gave them our price, they said ok and we were sent an email with no payment info. A tow truck's wheels don't roll without a cc on file so we called to get it. We got it and we went to the pickup location. Drove 21 miles after normal service hours. Arrived and the vehicle was nowhere to be seen. Looked like it was double dispatched. We tried charging the cc 50% for GOA (gone on arrival) but payment was declined. Again we called and spoke to VANESSA HOLMES, the one who dispatched the job in the first place. We told her we need to get paid for this GOA. She put us on hold for 30 some minutes and came back on the line to say we didn't tow the vehicle. No sh--, Sherlock. That's why we're only charging 50%. She said no you said you delivered the vehicle. Ummmm...are you making up stories now, Vanessa? She also said we were the only towing company dispatched the job. If that's the case, how did the car get towed "not by us?" Did a tow truck fall from the sky and tow that van? She went round and round with us and lied and made up stuff and said call tomorrow morning to talk to my supervisor. This place is shady af. They screwed my company on a road call after a week of (authorizing) the after hours emergency roadside service call 120 miles away from my shop. We only relesed the truck because we were switching over our mobile c.c machine. They litteraly laughed when we said we were sending them to collections. Such a low quality or company. Worked there 2 years as their sales professional. This company is the most dishonest group I have ever experienced. They rip off every customer . I HIRED A GUY FOR ATLANTA and he did not know some answers on their test that were confusing. They had me tell him that he was toleave the building right now ,no bus ticket back to Atlanta just sent him walking in Kansas city with no way home. They don't pay the vendors and ignore emails. Put the vendor on forever hold then suddenly the phone disconnects. DO NOT DO WORK FOR THEM.

Your driver cut me off in my commercial vehicle. At 210 hwy and eldon road. Very unprofessional to cut off trucks weighing 80,000 lbs. I would not recommend this company to anyone! Next time the driver may not be so lucky! read more

Vendors beware!!!! Do NOT take a road call from Interstate Truck Center. We were called to do an after hours repair for a Uhaul unit in southwest Florida. We could not get to the unit for repairs (locked in a gated yard) We spent 3 hours total and then Interstate refused to pay saying it was too much money for a dry run!!!! If you are a road service provider and see Interstate Truck Center pop up on your caller id, do yourself a favor and block the number. Unless you want to run a call for free! read more

I used to work for the company I would not recommended them will high stressful atmosphere you got to do the dispatchers job and your job too they call you even if it your off day and you only get 36 hours off week they pick your day off you set at home more then anything during the week you suppose to be working they lose more paperwork then anybody I know they cut off the credits cards until approval on a part then they cut the credit cards back on just you can get that part/fuel there work truck to me are tonka toy all there trucks are not equipped to do the job they sign you to you to call dispatch for another truck to do the job plus there truck are to small for experience technician read more

Mona on the other hand was very personable and professional and working hard. In the few hours I was there I heard them bashing techs and witnessed the changing of rates and invoicing. Be Warned, Dare at your own risk This guys will tell you they have the lowest hourly rate but you will pay for it in parts and the number of hrs. Every single part they use is marked up by 300%. If you you chose to use them try to get your own parts...if they let you. They only have one main mechanic in the shop so every job takes days longer than it should. The other guys in the shop are there to clean up after the main mechanic who looks very tired. I hope they at least pay him well. My truck was supposed to take 16 hrs but ended up taking 48 hrs. The lady at the front desk is very rude and acts like you are disturbing her when you ask a question. You will not get a straight forward answer on anything, they say we'll get back to you to every question especially regarding how much they are charging per item. If you ask how many hrs are into your truck they say they have to look into it but won't tell you until the end when you realize they are way above,what they quoted and never told you they are going over the estimate says. I don't know how they have stayed in business like this but they definitely have lost one more customer. They are not even a member of BBB so can't really report them except to the Attorney General's Office. After finally giving in and getting my truck out of there, I barely made it a mile when I noticed the truck was overheating again. I pulled over to the side of the road, opened the hood to find coolant flowing non-stop. They had forgotten to close a hose clamp. They took off the whole top of the engine and put it back but didn't do it right, there are bolts missing, oil is still leaking into the coolant(the original reason I took the truck to the shop) and exhaust system is not aligned properly causing a loss of power. Needless to say, two months now the truck is still down and they have refused to take any responsibility. Try to sue them and it will take months to actually go to court and will have spent way too much money in legal fees while not working. read more
