This was hands down our favorite restaurant in our 3 day visit in Miami! We got the octopus, arroz con Mariscos, a red snapper dish and a dessert (chola rusa recia). Ambiance: 5/5 we chose the outdoor seating option Service: 5/5 Service was outstanding and there were multiple staff serving us Food: 5/5 Everything was delicious and perfectly cooked but the star was the arroz con mariscos (seemed like a blend of paella and risotto)- it was perfectly creamy, seafood was perfectly cooked, and the flavors were well-balanced and rich! My wife said she would come back to Miami just to have this dish! Price: 4.5/5 Overall, we will definitely be back whenever we visit Miami again.
We were seated very quickly (immediately) when we arrived on time for our 8:00pm reservation on a Friday night. Our waitress was thorough, attentive, and very helpful - especially when we had questions on what to order. My husband ordered an Old Fashioned & he expressed, it was the best he had ever tasted. We also ordered water & we were given a choice between flat & sparkling water (bottled in a glass bottle). These were $7/ea I believe. Our food came out very quickly: first, with our appetizer, then the rolls, and then with our duck entree. Everything was cooked well & was hot when it arrived. PULPITO MOCHICA (appetizer) * grilled octopus w/veggies - One of the best things we ordered. - We demolished this dish. It was hot, cooked well, and bursting with flavor EL GECKO DRAGÓN DE GIANTI (roll) * fried shrimp + cream cheese - this was actually my favorite thing that we ate. I didn't expect to love it as much as I did. INTI MAKI* (roll) * Salmon sushi + fried shrimp - this roll had truffle oil on it... which took some getting used to, as it's a very strong flavor, but it was still tasty. ARROZ CON PATO A LA CHICLAYANA * Duck (shareable portion) - I was disappointed with the amount of Duck we received in this dish, as from looking at pictures, it looks the regular portion has the same amount of meat. We basically paid double for a large bed of rice and lentils (and we barely ate any of that). - the Duck was cooked well... but not as flavorful as I had hoped. DESSERT * I can't remember for the life of me what it was called... but it was light a fluffy + A massive amount of whipped cream, some fruit, and a cookie made from almonds (or pecans) that melted in my mouth. - But, it was delicious! Ambiance: - it was intimate... but too loud for my taste. - we were seated by the front door where a very skilled instrumental artist was playing... but the instruments (and her) were too close to our table. I couldn't hear what my husband was saying unless he yelled, and the instruments were so close it hurt my ears at time. We would come back during our next trip... but we would request to be seated farther away from the door & the instruments.
We had reservations for Valentine's Day. The place was full, but we got caught in traffic due to the boat show and were arriving about 20 minutes late. We gave them a call to let them know and they were able to accommodate. The service was absolutely phenomenal. Our waitress has vast knowledge of the menu, specials and ingredients. She gave thorough and appetizing descriptions of whatever we asked about. We started with the special lychee drink of the day and the raspberry rum drink. The cocktails were refreshing, had great presentation and were creatively delicious. The food left nothing to be desired. The seafood was incredibly fresh and the dishes were flavorful. The only thing that was lacking slightly was the ambiance. The live music (flutist and saxophonist) was great, but the tables were placed way too close to each other. Was a bit difficult to have a private conversation.
This was easily our favorite meal on our trip to Miami! Everything from the service to the ambiance and food was on point. Our server was Zuliana and I would 100% request her on a future visit. She knew her stuff and had a lot of experience working here. She provided us with the best recommendations and was honest and warm. Nico was a manager who visited our table several times to check on us, and he too was fantastic! They have an incredible team here at INTI.MO. The food... omg the food. I'm so glad we asked Zuliana for recommendations because we wouldn't have tried half the things she suggested, but they turned out to knock our socks off. The tiradito de hamachi was one of my favorites. It had such incredible complex flavor and wonderful textures. A home run. She also suggested we try some of their torched items. We selected the conchita parmesana nigiri and tuna sushi bomb. Both were torched tableside and each was a fantastic balance of flavors and textures. I would have happily ordered more of each! Our final savory course was the classic ceviche with all of the seafood! It was one of the best ceviches I've had, and I love that we got to try so many different types of seafood within. We also tried a couple of desserts, lucuma ice cream and a dulce de leche dessert. The latter was quite rich and sweet but good. The ice cream was a revelation, and a new flavor we had never tried before. From the food to the service and everything in between, INTI.MO stole our hearts and will hands down be the first restaurant I book if I return to Miami in the future!
Second time we've been here on visits to Miami and we've recommended it to many friends. They never disappoint and the friends always thank us! The service is impeccable. Franco was just as phenomenal as Sebastian has been in the past. The whole team is attentive and helps guide you through an extensive and very interesting menu to choose from. The Ceviche and anything we've had from the raw bar is just unreal! Don't miss the Sushi Bombs From the cold and hot apps, to the entrees and desserts, everything is clearly thoughtfully developed and flawlessly executed. The service experience, signature drinks, and the menu all blend the Peruvian and Japanese cultures in thoughtful, interesting, and delicious ways. The top notch servers are all about helping you find what fits your tastes and desires to create YOUR perfect experience. From the signature cocktails featuring Peruvian Pisco, to the sake by the glass selection, and Japanese whiskey old fashion that's hickory smoked at the table. It's all out of this world. Don't sleep on Intimo. 10/10 experience all the way around!
Outstanding! One of the best dinners I have had in a while. I've never had this cuisine but now that I have there is no turning back. Every meal was like a work of art, delicate and delicious. Helpful staff. Beautiful yet cozy decor. Interesting drinks. Loved the vibe of the saxophonist. Made for a very special evening, an exquisite culinary experience!
Oh my gosh, my favorite restaurant in Miami!! The place inside is super cozy and modern, but the best part is the food. Wow. Every single thing we tried made us say "mmmmm" outloud. The sushi rolls were awesome but our favorite things were the crispy rice with tuna, sushi bombs, and ceviche. I'm actually going back here in a few weeks and am going to try some of the entrees from here too to give an update on those! But if you want fresh seafood and a beautiful mishmosh of Peruvian and Japanese food, this is your Heaven.
Loved the Nikkei (Peruvian-Japanese) sushi rolls we shared. Pricey but a really fun date night spot in South Beach. Live music could've been a little better.
Delicious Peruvian food with along with a stylish and flavorful Japanese influence. We started with a Smokey Mezcal and Fresh Passion Fruit Margarita with a hint of fresh Peruvian lime juice and it even came with an extra shot of the super smooth mezcal. Beautiful presentation, with fresh flowers, gold leaf and dry ice. So happy our server Sebastian recommended it. Our wonderful server also recommended we start with the Tuna Sushi Bomb topped with Foie Gras. Such a wild pairing idea, but he said it was a flavor bomb, and after it was caramelized Table side with a butane torch it really was a perfect bite. We even said if we had any room left after our entrees we would order another round for dessert. For entrees, My husband had the Short Rib Pappardelle and he finished every bit. I had a creamy, Seafood Paella which was very good. Excellent quality products and I love that for fine dining they did not at all skimp on portion size. And the service from the Hostesses, to the gracious Managers who walked around and spoke with every table to Sebastian who was so knowledgeable about the menu and helpful. I fully expected to scorn South Beach's flashy facades as having more sizzle than substance. But my dinner at INTIMO proved even a scene-y place like this can surprise and delight with a deft kitchen and live musical entertainment to boot. At first glance, INTIMO felt pulled out of a glitzy magazine spread-- all aquamarine and gold hues, underwater themed decor and live violinists playing covers of top 40 hits, which is what made the place feel VERY Miami. Nestled inside these decadent trappings is this excellent Japanese Peruvian restaurant with delicious bites. Skeptical as I was when I arrived, one bite of their sushi rolls and sip of their cocktails had me transfixed in wide-eyed admiration. Far from basic nigiri and sushi pieces, here were some thoughtfully composed plates as much as for savoring as they were for picture taking amidst these see and be seen tables. INTIMO is both an entertainment space and gastronomic contender. It taught me not to judge a restaurant by its cover, or its violinists.
Increíble great service, presentation, ambiance, gastronomy. Food was excellent. If you are on a budget and hungry, this might not be for you. It's a bit pricey, but an excellent experience.
From Aiden, I'm only 10 years old and this was one of my favorite food experiences!! Franco was an amazing waiter! He gave us suggestions and all of them were amazing! For example the sushi bombs were covered in gold flakes! I thought that the gold was a very good design! There wasn't much noise so it was nice and quiet . There were fresh flowers that made the restaurant smell amazing! He did an amazing job giving great suggestions. 5+ stars!! Aiden
The food was incredible at Intimo!! I've been a long time fan of Ceviche 105, and just learned that the chef is connected to both restaurants. To start, the restaurant interior was pretty and comfortable. My husband and I ordered 2 smaller dishes and 2 entrees. We had the crispy rice with tuna, the snapper bao buns, the short rib with pappardelle, and the duck prepared 3 ways. The food was phenomenal. It was beautifully plated and full of flavor. The short rib dish is one of the best short rib/ pasta dishes I've ever had. It was the better of the 2 entrees. Sadly we were too full to try dessert, but it looked sooo good. The only criticism I have is for the service. Our waitress provided no guidance in how to order, which is helpful with a large and varied menu such as Intimo's. When we asked about our appetizers she named things she liked and didn't provide feedback about what we were interested in. She also was visibly disappointed when we didn't order alcohol. I hope the servers are encouraged to offer better service because it adds so much - and takes away from the experience, depending on who you get. I think Peruvian Japanese fusion food is exciting, and I hope to dine here when in Miami again. I give 5 stars for the food.

This was honestly one of the best meals I've had in a looooong time. Everything about this place was great. We waited at the bar for some friends and the bartender was so nice. He suggested some menu items to get once we were at our table. Our server was excellent as well. We tried a little bit of everything. I can't even say which stood out because they all did, but definitely try one of the sushi bombs, the tiradito de hamachi, the conchita permesana, the gyoza de pato y foie and the furai roll. But really, everything we tried was amazing. Even the dessert, which you should not skip out on. There was a violinist and it seemed like every table had a birthday so you'll likely hear happy birthday on the violin several times during your dinner but really, it was lovely. The people were lovely. The place is lovely and the price for the quality is very on point. read more

I can't remember the last time I've left a restaurant truly speechless. Our waiter, Franco, was absolute class from the very moment we sat down. Knowledgeable, passionate, and determined to share not only the incredible food but apart of his culture as a Peruvian. Each dish was succulent, unique, and catered to our preferences through deliberate, insightful questions. I want this to be a food review but it could honestly be a short love story. For anyone who reads this and decides to eat at this establishment, I guarantee you won't be disappointed. read more

Recommended by one of our close friends for a must while in Miami Beach, we stopped by íntimo for dinner on a weeknight. This Japanese/Peruvian restaurant delivered beyond expectations. We had a roll of sushi and the short braised-ribs for dinner and the Peruvian French toast for dessert. The food was phenomenal. What made this place truly, exceptional was the excellent customer service from the hostess to general manager greeting us at our table to having a warm hand towel to wash off and a purse holder for my wife. Every member of the staff is truly invested in the guest experience, which showed throughout our phenomenal evening while dining here. Our waiter was Rafael, who had incredible dish recommendations and wine parents as well. Next time we are in town, we will definitely visitor spot again and recommended to anyone who is visiting Miami Beach. read more

This place left me quite satisfied. I walked in and immediately was acknowledged. The hostess did not asked if I had a reservation or not even though it was busy. She made us feel welcomed and invited us to the bar. Christian the bartender and Aramis took great care of us even when my very clumsy self flipped the drink i was having. They immediately prepared another one without hesitation. From the oshibori towels to the tab everything was on and in point. The service was excellent, the food was yummy, the ambiance was cozy and inviting. It was just a great evening! Please take this from a seasoned hotelier. This place wont let you down. read more
Wow, what a very very very belated review (I wish I was in Florida!). We made our way down the Miami beach strip to Intimo and boy, it was one of the highlights of our trip! First of all, the decor is absolutely stunning. Ambience is classy yet not stuffy. Bathroom was clean with nice thick napkins. Great take on Peruvian-Japanese fusion. The meal started with a beautiful complimentary fish bone broth and warm hand towels, which was delightfully seafoody and salty. We ordered several different dishes, including all the nigiris (shiromi, conchita, lomito, sake belly, arroz con pato), the intimo bomb, tiradito de hamachi, and meloso con camarones en salsa de chupe. The Intimo Bomb was hands down the best bites of the evening (and one of the more indulgent bites in my life) with fresh unagi, sea urchin, truffle, gold flakes it was very tasty and I was left wanting more. All of the nigiris were also tasty and fun, and I especially enjoyed the torched scallop nigiri. The hamachi was also very delicious, delicate thin slices of fish that were beautifully plated. As always, I enjoy the smaller bites/appetizers more than the entree but our entree was pretty tasty as far as entrees go. The shrimp were large and cooked well and everything was fresh and bright (just a bit too salty for me). I'm glad that we shared the entree, as it would be a bit much/too rich for one person. I definitely want to revisit this place next time I'm back in Miami! read more

First of all, my hats go off to the waitress. She knew the menu like the back of her hand and could describe in detail what goes into any item you could possibly order. I had stopped by here for an early dinner and had ordered the following: Salmon Sushi Bomb Atun Sushi Bomb Black Cod Al Miso Inti Maki Roll Ceviche Avocado Paella The Atun Sushi Bomb was the highlight of the dinner. Curious about the raving reviews of Intimo, we popped by for a light lunch at the end of December. We opted to enjoy the beautiful Miami weather and take a seat on their lovely patio area. (On my way to restroom, I did notice how beautiful it was inside as well.) They started us off with this amazing umami broth that just delighted our palates. Since we particularly enjoy the raw seafood aspects of the Peruvian-Japanese blend, we only focused on those menu items. * Ostras Inti "Oysters, caviar, summer truffle, gold flakes and yuzu caviar" $28 - Beautifully presented and a bit of heaven in each slurp. * Ceviche Clasico "Fresh fish, Peruvian lime juice, onions, cilantro, sweet potato, steamed corn and Andean roasted chulpe corn." $24 - Gorgeous plating, great flavors, and just had our mouths humming. * Tiradito De Pescado "Fine slices of fresh fish in yellow pepper leche de tigre" $16 - I love leche de tigre and wish there was a better way to slurp up all the sauce! I did my 30th birthday here and they were so accommodating! We had a large party and they sat us all together even though we had two separate reservations. The service is superb, they always go out of their way to make sure you're taken care of. I always enjoy the ambiance here, it makes me feel like I'm in another country and the last two times I went for dinner they had a violinist playing pop songs which definitely sets the mood. All the food here is so fresh tasting from sushi, nigiri, apps and desserts. I love their hamachi, ceviche, and their drinks are incredible. Best friends reunited in south Florida for an upscale yet casual, intimate dining experience. The service was superb, and we would go back again and again if we traveled back. After a deliciously tart and refreshing passion fruit cocktail, and Peruvian inspired pisco sour we enjoyed fabulous appetizers and celebrated friendship. We all indulged in different entrees and got to try each others dish. 10/10 and service was 1000/10. read more

Love the food here. Received great service from our server Franco. He suggested the crab roll special and some nigiri pieces. My favorite must try is the scallop torched truffle nigiri. Love this place for date night or with friends. read more
This place is AMAZING. the ambiance is perfect for special night out like dates or friends gathering. The interior is modern and there was live music a weekday night we visited. There's also outside steering availability. The food is absolutely delicious. It's hard to get fusion right but they totally nailed it. Totally recommend the nigiri and the miso glazed fish. The drinks has a lot of variety and are also delicious. And our waiter was just fabulous. We wanted to be friends with him because he was that nice. If you are looking for a high end restaurant, you won't regret it here! read more

Honestly everything was Amazing!!! Food was delicious, decadent & just perfect! Service was to the nines from the time you arrive at the entrance time you leave where at the exit they took a beautiful family picture for us. Comfortable seating ( sat inside too hot to be outdoors ) & ambiance was perfect for a late lunch which I am sure would be even nicer at night with dimmed lighting. All in all it was an Excellent time & will be visiting again to try some other menu items and renew the experience. You are in for an ultimately positive experience. read more

On my girlfriend's birthday she wanted to go to the beach and eat at a Peruvian/Japanese restaurant so Yelp brought me to this place. I called several times in the morning to find out their corkage policy but nobody answered so I took the chance and went. We arrived at 2pm on a Tuesday, the place was completely empty, and we were the only table at the time. The decoration is modern and clean with unique touches... The server arrived and gave us complimentary fish tea (or soup, idk), it was surprisingly tasty. Based on the server's suggestions, we ordered an altered version of their Shasami due to our shellfish allergies, "Tri Intimo Special" and "Tiradito De Hamachi". When that arrived we knew we were in trouble because we just wanted a couple of appetizers, the appetizers had enough for a party of 4 at least, "Tri Intimo Special" was HUGE! The plate consisted of 3 different Ceviche dishes and two different kinds of sushi which had four pieces each. (See picture below) We started eating and drinking our bottle of 2013 Ridge Monte Bello Chardonnay and half way we felt almost full, so we realized that we had to either take half of the appetizers home to be able to order the main courses we wanted or just finish it... my girlfriend asked if they had a side of arroz frito and the server suggested a fancy rice that comes with pieces of fillet mignon! After digging deeper into the options they did have a simple fried rice, so we ordered it. So at the end we left the place full but unsatisfied because we wanted to order as main course the Black Cod at Miso and Ribeye Tacu Pallar and we didn't have room nor the appetite to keep eating. We also had 2 rounds of drinks in addition to the bottle of Chardonnay we brought. Then we ordered a dessert to finish the day on a sweet note, they sang Happy Birthday and we went on with our day at the beach. My conclusions; everyone at the place was very nice and friendly, the manager came by multiple times and the bartender gave us a masterclass of tequilas and gave us a shot to try. The food tasted good and the place had a good feeling, but this is like a tourist trap, they push you to order the more expensive things on the menu so the bill is big, this is also the first restaurant ever that doesn't give a complimentary dessert for the birthday person, and last but not least charging $45 for a corkage is ridiculous, the cost of our chardonnay is about $80 and they charged more than half for doing nothing, and the server said that he was giving me the "weekday special price" (remember that it was Tuesday) so I wonder what will be the weekend price. So it's very unlikely that we'll come back but if we do, we'll be very careful on what to order and avoid recommendations for the most part. read more
A true Michelin star experience. This place is one of the most fantastic dinners that I've had in a long time which is a fusion Peruvian and Japanese experience. Franco was fantastic and one of the best servers who is most passionate enthusiastic and knowledgeable that we have had in a very very long time. We love the food from start to finish including a very expensive lychee drink followed by $100 sushi and ceviche platter sampler and we topped it off with squid and throughout the whole experience the ambience was elevated with live violin covers of pop music which is literally music to my ears literally will definitely come back in the future. read more

10 STARS -- Honestly, you do not have to finish reading my review, because this place is absolutely delicious, the hospitality is top notch, and the vibe is very classy, intimate, and welcoming. My friends and I chose INTIMO for my birthday during the very beginning of the COVID-19 shenanigans. Despite, the slowness of business. The staff and chefs delivered exceptional service! Every single bite of our meals sent shivers through our bodies. The Peruvian - Japanese inspired food is unexplainable. Our beverages were carefully crafted to perfection. Every part of our experience was delivered to the highest standard -- we truly felt like queens! Samantha was PHENOMENAL! She knew the menu options backwards, forwards, upside down, and inside out. We trusted her judgment whether it was food or beverages. Samantha was extremely inviting and made us feel at home! I can't wait to return to INTIMO to visit her again! read more

Came here on a weekday lunch so it was quite empty. The service was efficient and the food was overall very tasty. My favorite was the Intimo sushi bomb. The ceviche clasico was pretty good and the three style duck was okay, some pieces were slightly dry. However, portions were quite large and overall very satisfied with the restaurant. read more
Went here for lunch with my boyfriend on a Thursday - pretty empty place. Saw great reviews so we thought we'd give it a try since it's a different type of food than what we can get at home. Great, fresh food. We loved the pork belly bun, ceviche and the nigiri we tried for apps. If we could go back we would probably just sit there and eat their apps all day - soooo many amazing options. Massive portions for their main dishes and delicious (and so beautiful) drinks. I love pavlova and when I saw they had a version of it on their menu we knew we had to get it. Decided to book INTIMO for my boyfriends 29th birthday. We were greeted right away and got sat. I wasn't too fond of the seating arrangements, I thought everyone was to squished together but that all disappeared once the service got started. We were initially given a fish broth that I was pleasantly surprised was amazing. We both ordered the cocktail of the night which was a passion fruit margarita with a spicy rim. We than proceeded to order a few things off the menu which included sake belly nigiri, wagyu nigiri, ceviche Classico, fried rice and the filet lomo saltado... all amazing with my favorite being the ceviche. It was honestly some of the best food I've had in awhile. Highly recommend!!! read more

WOW! This new place is off the charts good...rush don't walk there. It's Peruvian-Japanese "nikkei" cuisine (combination of Japanese immigrants to Peru recreating traditional Japanese with local ingredients). Food, ambience and service are some of the best I've seen in Miami Beach. The food was amazingly good. While slightly pricey, they don't skimp on exotic or expensive ingredients, and it is incredible. Four-course lunch for 2 was $185 with tip. Even the simple salad we started with was fantastic and served with a smile plus architectural garnishes. Next up was a trio of salmon, tuna, and ceviche. It was also terrific and I thought "how can they top this perfect thing?" Well what came next was almost indescribably good. The dish was a combination of choco Peruvian corn and lobster. Sounds like mustard and bananas together right? Well this WORKS big time. Dessert was a merengue topped with strawberries, also scrumptious. Holy Jesus/Buddha/Allah/Dios Mio, this was VERY good food. I'm definitely going back for much more of the same. The space itself is both intimate and gorgeous ("Intimo" is a play on words of the indigenous Inti sun god in Peru, and the Spanish word for intimate). There are touches of gold everywhere, very cool woven art in the front, and even the bathroom was a triumph of high design. Our server was one of the best I've ever had in Miami, and we eat out quite a bit, so it's a large sample. Ask for Samantha, she was absolutely perfect. The whole place was absolutely perfect. Especially considering it is newish, it's astoundingly good food, in a beautiful space, with perfect service. read more

Does INTIMO have good vegetarian options?
Yes! They have the Ceviche Veggie and the Steak Cauliflower (both delicious!). You also have a veggie roll and a couple of salads.
Do they have a kids menu?
Didn't see one but that doesn't mean there isn't one. Suggest to call them directly and ask. There were a lot of families there having dinner with younger children so I'm sure they accommodate.
