I think the view itself would worth the visit, such a spectacular panoramic views of the LA Skylines from the famous Hollywood sign to DTLA, and on a clear day you can even see the ocean. read more

I came here for New Year's Eve. It was an open bar, reservations-only purchased event. My boyfriend was skeptical, expecting a shitshow with the open bar, but I love to ring in new years on rooftops with views of the LA skyline and fireworks around the city, and this spot at the Godfrey promised that. It was a well-planned event that was executed smoothly. My boyfriend was pleasantly surprised, and my perfect New Year's Eve was delivered. The bartenders were excellent, churning out drinks swiftly, and the drinks were actually great: strong pours, quality spirits. We stuck to gin and tonics, vodka Red Bulls, and towards the end of the night, prosecco. There were tons of people, but it never seemed crowded. We always had a spot by the pool. The DJs weren't obnoxious. The space itself is attractive and well-maintained. The city views were lovely. I'd definitely come back here for another event, or just for drinks. read more

‼‼FALSE ADVERTISING!!! They spent a week sending out emails urging people to make a free RSVP for a Sunday pool party here and I signed up a week in advance, only for the doorman at the entrance to tell everyone that the RSVP's mean nothing and that it costs $40 to enter. Tricking people for over a week with a free RSVP and then demanding money at the door feels like it should be illegal and at the very least is misleading and false advertisement! I will not be back to this disappointing business establishment, and will not give my money to a place that engages in deceitful practices such as this. read more

We went there a few weeks ago to celebrate a colleague's new job and found the vibe of IO Rooftop to be pretty relaxing, at least for the sudden influx of hotel rooftop bars in the Hollywood area. It's located at the Godfrey Hotel on the corner of Cahuenga and De Longpre with valet parking or street parking available. Once you enter the hotel, you take the elevator straight to the 7th floor where you exit into a bar area. We arrived pretty early in the evening so there wasn't any manning the front desk and had to kind of search for where the main bar was located. We walked by the pool, which is accessed via a keycard and then the main part of the outdoor bar is located behind the elevators. As I mentioned earlier, the vibe of IO Rooftop is pretty laid back, with some guests on their computers working while our party was having drinks and appetizers. The service here was top notch. Our waitresses were attentive and accommodated our numerous requests with a smile. The food here would be considered continental with numerous options ranging from fries, to chips, to chicken tenders to sushi. The food was as expected meaning right down the center. Nothing outstanding yet nothing offensive with a note that the spicy tuna rolls are actually very spicy. I think the issue here like other reviewers have mentioned was the cost. Items were very expensive ranging from the almost $20 a glass for drinks and similarly for food. It felt overpriced for the caliber of food and mixed with the laid back nature of the place, it ultimately felt unbalanced. I think it you were staying here for work, yeah it's not a bad option, but if you just came here for drinks and appetizers, be prepared to pay as the bill will be offensive. read more

The rooftop is gorgeous. Another nice rooftop in LA to have a drink on. The sushi is not good at all. If you eat sushi anywhere in LA regularly, you do not have to have it here. I would order something else. I would definitely keep going back for the rooftop. I think they're still getting their menu pricing together because it doesn't match what they key in sometimes so make sure you check your bill. read more

Stay at the Godfrey this weekend and one of the biggest reasons why we picked this hotel was for the rooftop restaurant, bar and lounge area. Super excited to start a birthday weekend out with dinner on the rooftop. We even made a reservation week in advance... when we got off of the elevator we were very confused because it didn't look like a rooftop bar and restaurant and honestly look like we walked into the twilight zone. To the left was an exit sign, to the right was a tent blocking the outside and no one was there but one couple and a guy at the counter. When we approach the counter, because we had no idea where this "restaurant " was and I felt like we were in the twilight zone ... the gentleman said that they were having a special event so that's why the rooftop is all blocked off and when we mentioned we had a reservation he was like sure have a seat. It was only one seating available so I pushed together the only two ppl tables because our reservation was for four ....it was really weird and there was nobody in there really, so we left... we couldn't even get to the pool spent $500 a night there and had no access to the rooftop at all. They could've contacted us and let us know so we can make reservations somewhere else and maybe advertise or informed people and they're making reservations at the amenities are not available. I would give a 4.5 if I could, it was fantastic here. The bartenders were insightful and were able to help us identify good drink options based on our flavor preferences. The bartenders were responsive and kind and so easy to talk to while being so quick to give us our drinks! The bar is cozy and comfortable inside and has a lovely outside seating area, with options next to the city view or in the middle of the patio near the pool. Such a good spot to catch a late night drink, only downside was it closed at 11:30 so it felt like we ended our night early. We went here to show off the LA rooftop scene to a friend who was visiting and hadn't ever seen Hollywood. The view from the rooftop bar is spectacular! The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive as well. We went on the earlier side and there was ample seating. I suspect they have a wonderful evening scene as there was a DJ setting up. They also have an amazing projection setup for sports games, which I'd def recommend if they're showing your team. May have to check it out during football season! I don't even really watch football, but the setup is that good - and it is projection so, not sure how it is during the day. I also recommend The Down to Earther drink. So refreshing! Parking: very easy public parking in the lot behind the ole Arclight theater. read more

Came here for their free movie night up in the rooftop pool area. Tickets/valet parking is free if you meet a $40 spending on food/drinks. We got up to the rooftop and were kinda confused/weren't even sure they were having a movie night. No signs, no host, nothing. Finally we were seated by a manager. We patiently waited to be seen by someone and reached out to the manager asking if we could order and he said "yeah eventually" then walked away. Didn't even try to send a waitress on his behalf. I believe it took us 35 min to get a waitress to take our order. When she did she was very sweet. The food took 40 min (more than halfway thru the movie) and we were met with cold shrimp (4 pieces for $20 btw!) and chips and guac. Movie ended it was fine we got over it. Until we tried to get our car from valet. Got our validation from the bar. Gave valet guy my ticket and told him we met the $40 spending even showing him my receipt and he kinda shrugged and said ok. He seemed confused. I ask another guy if he could break my $20 bill so I could tip and it took a few minutes. Upon returning he gave me back $5 and after looking confused he said: "parking is $15". I said oh I had a validated ticket cuz I was upstairs for the movie night. He kinda looked confused and gave me back my full amount and I tipped accordingly. It felt like it was everybody's first day on the job. From the front desk staff, to managers, to valet guys, nobody seemed to be on the same page or understood what they were doing or felt compelled to help/be accommodating. This was the worst experience I've had in a while. Don't recommend coming here. There are much better rooftops and hotels in Hollywood! This is not it. read more

IO Rooftop is located on top of Godfrey Hotel. Checked out this rooftop this past weekend for an event I was attending. I must say the view and vibes are great here (especially the DJs and resident DJ - DJ MISH!). Only downside is how overpriced their menu is. Ordered a Paloma and Jameson ginger ale and each drink was $22. Service: 10/10. Our bartender was great - whoever was working 8/21/22, has great hair, and a positive vibe provided great service that evening. Pool: it's important to note that their pool is small (length wise) but heated! Chillin around the area still provided good vibes though. Would I return? Only if DJ MISH is spinning or anyone from her + Club Maverick events. read more

We ordered two appetizers almost 30 minutes before we ordered the two burgers ( one meat burger , one Vegan). They do not bring the appetizer but they bring only the meat burger after us waiting for a good time and then when they bring the meat burger , then they go " sorry , we don't have vegan burger anymore but we can give you salad " SO THE WAITER DID NOT EVEN COME TO US TO TELL US IN ADVANCE THAT THEY NO LONGER HAD THE VEGAN BURGER!!!!!So I am supposed to eat my burger while my buddy waits for a salad ? Just cancel the appetizers, no points in us getting the appetizers when my burger meal is already here " and she gives a look and an attitude not even a " sorry" reply and goes " Fine, I cancel it"... No Apologies, NOTHING Now we get to the Burger: One tiny patty and a bread twice the size of a patty. 17$ to get the CRAPPIEST BURGER that makes " In N Out" burger into a LUXURY Burger..This is NOT EVEN THE WORST PART!! My friend was upset, they didn't even bring him the water glass for like 20 minutes that we had sat down ( and Remember, it wasn't even that crowded )and he wanted to leave immediately and I could not have agreed more. We come down to the lobby and as we come to the lobby , I get a TEXT MESSAGE to my phone that my card and account has been FROZEN for my security... It was a FISHING TEXT so their card reader system had been hacked so when they are running the cards someone is picking up our cell phone numbers that is attached to our cards and they send " fishing text" to see if you would click on the link so they can try to hack your account. It literally happened not even 10 minutes after we left this place. So glad I didn't click on the link and just called my bank and they secured everything... This place is a DISGRACE, It is a COMPLETE DISASTER...Hands Down, the Worst Service , the Worst Food , Horrible People..I can't believe I drove 45 minutes to get to this place...Will never go back again..I honestly can't even remember when was the last time, I had this horrible level of experience. We bought 2 general admission tickets to the IORooftop Super Bowl Party, and we left early because we couldn't see or hear the game. There were no speakers on the left hand side, and it was impossible to see the TVs or projection screen in bright sun. The event advertised a "70 foot screen" to watch the game, and based on our experience, this was false advertising. Overall the event was badly organized and the customer service was subpar. We told a manager we wanted to leave because we couldn't see or hear the game, and all she did was send over our server to close out our tab. No apology, no explanation, no nothing. Really bad experience and would not recommend this spot until they get their act together. read more
