Honestly some of the best food we've had on the trip! Cold beer and delicious hot chips! The girls enjoyed their kids meals of Spaghetti and Fried Shrimp. Husband and I had a sub and club! I ordered a cheese pizza and an italian sub. I could tell they were swamped at the restaurant. When you call it asks you to press one like a hotline. The pizza was a medium thickness and tasted a little like school pizza. Wasn't good and wasn't bad. The Italian sub was pretty good accept they added banana papers and I said no banana peppers. It took over 1 hour 20 minutes to get there, though. I was quoted 50 minutes. I think this seems to be a place to eat at the restaurant. So not one waitress in this places smiled or even acted like they wanted to be there. They walked by but never once asked it everything was ok or asked if we needed anything. You know your tips depend on a good attitude , if you don't like what you do then find a NEW JOB because we pay for our food, service and should be treated accordingly. The food was good so the chef did his job but the others truly failed the chef. I always tip at 20% or higher because I understand this is how they make there money but this girl got 10% which she didn't even deserve that!! I'm giving Ioanni's Grill 3 stars because 1) They delivered it so maybe it would have been better if we ate it at the restaurant. 2) I thought this place was a Greek restaurant. My gyro sandwich was not what I expected or what I'm used to. If you look at the picture, the slices look like processed meat. Like it came out of a can like Spam. 3) If this place is a Greek restaurant why isn't their tzatziki sauce any good? It was running, not creamy, and it looked like their were ZOODLES in it! We opted to stay in for a late dinner and called down the front desk of the hotel we were staying at and asked about local places for pizza. She suggested Ioanni's. We called up and they delivered which was awesome! We ordered a large pizza with pepperoni and sausage, a meatball sub, a large garden salad and a kid's spaghetti. It took about an hour for it to arrive which was told to us when we called and placed the order. The food arrived hot and it was delicious. The sauce on the spaghetti and the meatball sub must have been the same. It was flavorful and a bit spicy which I was fine with. The meatballs were tasty and the bread was delicious. The fries were crisp and tasty. My husband loved the pizza! It was thin but not cracker-thin. We would definitely visit or have delivery again if in the area! read more

Ioanni's used to be a good local hangout with good food. Something has changed and it is no longer tolerable. The waitstaff has some incentive other than customer satisfaction, I can only imagine what that is, and the food is really different than it used to be. I have friends that have said the same thing and have stopped goingt there. There still seem to be a lot of cars there at times, but I gotta think the bad karma is going to hit them hard in the end. The people are slow (very slow - ie: 30 minutes to order type slow), easily irritated, unresponsive, and I have been disappointed twice after years of going to this place, but I won't be going back. The food is not always bad, it has just become hugely inconsistent. You might get cold chicken on your dish (yep), overcooked hamburgers (yep), and a waitstaff who couldn't care less. read more

I wanted to take a picture of Ioanni's exterior, but every effort was foiled by a lone outdoor smoker I lamented. "That's par for the course for Ioanni's right?" Enough said. We go to Ioanni's A LOT. Not because it's particularly great, but because it's convenient and decent - tucked away in a random strip mall, but right across the street from the home sweet home. So we run (literally) across the street OFTEN to grab a cheap bite or a pint, or some kind of liquor drink and sometimes catch a game. Excellent food for a locals bar. Here in November so no tourism. Just a bunch of locals enjoying the atmosphere and the big screens with football and basketball. Wasn't expecting great food but was pleasantly surprised. Side salad was fresh and ample. Grilled tuna was an excellent cut, grilled rare to perfection, and served with some of the best sautéed vegetables I've ever had. Will definitely make this a regular stop on my travels to the Carolina coast! read more

Hadn't tried to eat there in several years due to the bad service received from previous visits. So my wife says let's try again with some hesitation I said, OK we will try. So we walk in the front door and the hostess greets us and says it will be about a 20 minute wait so I said OK so we're waiting about five minutes and another couple come in behind us in a few minutes later another couple joins them and I noticed the waitress is cleaning a table and so she comes up and grabs the four people that came in after us and seats them. I'm thinking OK . This is not going good so far but we wait and again another couple comes in behind us with a party of 4. So we are all waiting and again the hostess comes up grabs the four people seats them and comes back and tells me I know it looks like I'm passing you up but really I'm not and I reply how are you not passing us up. I'm not sure how you're figuring that. You have just seated two parties that come in after us.. I look at my Wife) and she says let's go. We shouldn't have tried this.. The hostess is trying to talk to me from across the room and I tell her remove our name from the list. We will not do this again . Again, I tell her to remove our name and we will never ever come back again and after that I left, I'm very upset and disappointed and call the manager and explain what just happened as to why I walked out of his restaurant and will never return. The sad part is we just live across the street up behind Bojangles and in walking distance to this restaurant but refuse to come there ever again. It won't let me post this unless I give it a star rating. If I could give it zero stars that's what I would do. read more

Well we decided to give this place a try. We got a pizza and it was very good. The reason for the bad review was the service. it looks us a long time to get seated. There was only two servers in the packed bar and it took almost 15 minutes to even get our water. After my girlfriend and i ordered it took another 30 minutes to get a pizza. To tack on to extra time it took another 30 minutes to get our check. We had been done for awhile and never saw our waitress. When i looked up she was just chatting with another customer and got their check and food way before us and they arrived way after us and left before us because of their special service. Maybe this place would be good for takeout but if you want something fast i would not recommend it. Horrible experience and I hope this will help people decide where to eat. read more

Ordered a burger and fries from my car. It took 45 min and a different waitress came out so I asked her when our food would come out. She said 45 min is normal wait. The food came out shortly after she went in. The burger was way beyond well done and dry. The bun was warm and soggy on the bottom from what I assume was reheated in microwave. The fries were cold and tuff. The sweet tea was ok. The waitress didn't seem friendly and never smile, it seemed like they didn't want to be there. Almost every time I've come here I've had a great time. The owner and most of the bartenders are awesome. There's this one waitress who has a bad attitude constantly every time we get her, and is extremely rude. But aside from that bad egg, the food and people are usually excellent. The wings can be on the over cooked side, but I've never had a bad Greek taco or gyro platter from here. Delicious and filling pizza and pasta dinners too. Good drinks. read more

My boyfriend and I went to Ioannis last night. First red flag for me was that we stood in the entry way for about 5 minutes before anyone offered to seat us. We eventually sat at the bar, where we ordered some appetizers from one bartender. About 10 minutes later another bartender asked if we were ready to order our main meal. We ordered a pizza and a burger. Fast forward about 45 minutes, we were finishing our appetizers and the second bartender comes back around to ask if we would like anything else to which we replied yes and asked how much longer our main food order would be. He literally shrugged his shoulders and walked away. I had no idea what that meant- but he finally came back and said that he looked in the computer and there was no other order besides our appetizers. I said, you took our order. He looked at me like he had no recollection of this. He then looks through his notepad and says oh yeah. I guess I forgot to put it in. An extremely weird situation, and we were ready to call it a night as we had already been there an hour so we just asked for the check. I would have expected an apology or some kind of discount on our appetizers but never got that. Just a disappointing experience. read more
