Another successful Yelp project on the books! IP automotive responded to my quote request for an auto repair job. Their estimate was several hundred dollars less than what the dealership quoted. They also responded quickly and were the most accessible and accommodating. Weekday-only appointments but I was welcomed to drop off over the weekend. I found this shop on YELP and, as I always do, I read all the reviews and did some investigating. I needed a professional to work on my Honda Odyssey. Although they are 45 mins from my location I still decided to use them to diagnose and solve my a/c issue. I contacted them through YELP and they were quick to respond and to furnish an estimate. Bottom line is that they did what they said they were going to do at the price they initially quoted and they got me in and out promptly. I would absolutely use IP AUTOMOTIVE in-the future. Five stars! Hands down the best automotive repair shop in the Tampa Bay Area! I had to have my 1991 Jeep Wrangler rowed there after a breakdown in the area! This was first time I had gone to them and they were recommended by AAA...it was a Sunday afternoon and I was visiting my son, but figured it had to be better than a local tire shop, since I had no idea what was wrong! Luck and stars aligned because this is the best repair shop I have ever experienced! As a female always concerned about how people treat me and my knowledge about cars (I know them but don't work on them). Renata is fantastic! She communicates extensively about costs, pictures, issues and anything she feels is important from an owners aspect! I talked to the mechanic and got one-on-one discussion about what they found. Renata provided pictures--my issue was brakes, calipers....and how having an old vehicle it hurts sometimes to fix it..costly and timely! After 2 business days my Jeep was fixed, and I couldn't be happier! First, they washed and vacuumed my Jeep...that is awesome! They took care of my vehicle...like it was their own! I was in town to take care of some family business for a few days. I found out when I arrived that an old car was involved in the mess of things so I decided to have the car checked out. I randomly picked RPM and asked if they could look over he car that day and let me know. They were super friendly and informative and were able to look at the car right away. They ordered the part that was needed and planned to stay past closing time in order to fix it so I could get the car back that day. When the part came in, it was the wrong one and it was too late to get another one. They were very apologetic and offered several other solutions and options. I had to come and get the car because I was leaving town the next morning. Although nothing was officially fixed on the car, I would definitely go back and trust them completely. RPM is awesome. They are professional, do what they say, oh yeah, and they saved me over $1200. My "old" mechanic had recently moved under new management, and tried to charge me $1400 for a part on my Nissan Altima. They were saying there was no other options, but to replace this part. Wrong. RPM was a life saver. We came in from out of town experiencing car trouble. We called RPM and they worked us in the sameday (a Friday). From the start, they were very upfront with the pricing. Knowing we were in a pinch, they could have taken us, especially with the urgent needs, but instead, they checked out the car, made some adjustments and told us the things that needed to be taken care of eventually (not insisting they needed to fix it right away). They made sure that our car was ready and safe for the next part of our journey. Additionally, they fielded our many calls during the day with patience and thorough explanation. I have rarely experienced an auto repair shop that seemed so clear on charges before hand and that was so honest. Plus, I loved their sweet shop dog! We were referred to RPM auto by AAA for our insurance automobile car safety exam. The staff are just incredible. This is a family owned business and I found myself being treated like an old friend. Staff are courteous and personable. My wife had taken her car to Honda and the auto dealer did not come close to the full diagnosis done at RPM. They not only tell you any and all issues they find in a manner easily understandable to anyone with little mechanical expertise, but also take you to see the issues on the car personally. At no time did they try to push me into doing anything further with my car and even went to so far as to advise me that most of the issues found were not of imminent concern while also pointing out the couple of more serious issues found. Charges are very reasonable (and superior to those charged wlsewhere) such that we elected to to have them provide some needed work (tire replacement, alignment, oil change, etc.) As others have reported, they even washed and vacuumed my car afterward. Both my wife and I were so pleased that we have decided to use RPM for all future car service. I agree wholeheartedly with Angelica M. who describe RPM as "by far the best auto repair shop". Before the days of computerization in cars I used to do practically all my own auto mechanical work, but I recognize my limitations with newer cars. I've brought my 2001 Jeep wrangler to RPM Auto Repair twice, both times with difficult issues. Each time they have resolved the issues. Before I first brought it there no other place was able to pin point the problem. This time my jeep was towed in due to it wouldn't go into gear and the brakes were going. I had my mother bring her car to this shop and relayed to them what she had told me. Unfortunately since I was inquiring about what all the expenses were and what exactly they were doing to the vehicle they decided not to work on it. This tells me that they were likely going to try to get some free money out of this since I myself know a bit about cars. They charged $85 just to hook the car up to a computer, most places offer this for free, and then told me it was going to cost $95 to diagnose further just one of the issues before they'd do any work. My primary issue is that I am knowledgeable about cars and when asking for details they got nervous and declined to work on my mother's vehicle. read more
