My love of movies is endless and even more so my love for a good movie night out. I frequent IPIC frequently and have usually had pretty good experiences until this past Sunday. The service was ok. Food came to our seats cold and then we struggled to get utensils to eat as they are not provided at your seats anymore (just the black cloth napkin). Also no waters were ever brought to us while the beer arrived within 10 minutes of ordering, my old fashioned drink did not arrive until 49 minutes after we ordered. Mind you this is also after I had my service light on for a good 10 minutes with no response ever to the point that I turned it off and gave up. Only for my drink to finally show up some time later. Even with all this, although my experience was definitely not up to the expected standard I'd had many times before I am then presented with my bill shortly afterwards. The server stood there and waited for a few seconds. I continued to enjoy the movie. The server returned and asked had I finished with the receipt. I let her know not right then....she then huffed and stormed off. Well as I look at the receipt during the ending of the movie.... I see there is a new charge. There is now an added "Server charge $9.99" along with a TIP line. It would be nice to be notified of this new additional charge especially when the service is lacking. There was no manager available per the bar staff that night. Well needless to say I will be calling Corporate to discuss communications on this new charge that seems to now be standard but not necessarily deserving of all your servers. I never have a problem paying for great service, food, etc but in the midst of all the emails you send to solicit about new movies, menu items etc...... where was this communication??? Would love the chance to speak with a manager for some explanation of the nights events. read more

We stumbled upon this movie theatre as we were heading to the Colony Square food court for a quick bite. So happy we made the pivot! This theatre is beautiful and perfect for date night. The concierge was friendly and helped us select a movie based on our interests - we're not frequent movie goers so we didn't know any of the movies that were playing. After purchasing our tickets, we made our way upstairs to the waiting area and bar. The ambience was everything! Loved all of the plants and the modern decor. The actual theatre was sooooo nice! Now I've been to movie theaters with reclining seats, but these were super fancy! Every two seats were separated by dividers so we truly felt like we were in the theatre by ourselves in our own little pod. We were greeted by our server almost immediately and ordered calamari, steak fajita fried, and the biscuits. I highly recommend this theater because it was a great experience. However, I will say that the food we ordered was terrible which is why it did not get 5 stars. I loved the reclining chairs, and the service was great. I dont understand their method of assigning the seats when you purchase a ticket. They will give you two terrible choices but the theater was practically empty during that time of the day. However when I went back to the cashier she allowed me to change my seating preference. Now let's talk about the terrible uncooked chicken wings and dry burger, YUCK! The fries were good and the drinks were good. Next time I will stick to regular theater food. Finally the restrooms were very clean with many stalls. The parking was a bit confusing the first time around. That was so frustrating to me. Don't forget to get your parking ticket validated. The staff was nice and so was the theater. However, for three tickets they charged a $7 convenience fee and this was at the door. I didn't buy the tickets online to avoid the fees. I was not happy when I got there and was still charged for it. The churro popcorn and the white cheddar popcorn was delicious. The truffle popcorn not so much. I don't think I'll return to this location. There are a lot of theaters in Atlanta with this same concept, so I will go there. read more

Overall thoughts: a beautifully designed theater that provides a great movie-going experience, but the restrooms need serious attention. The breakdown: First things first- I love IPIC theaters. I've experienced them in other cities, and was excited to learn that Atlanta finally had one. The decor: it's beautiful. There's beautiful artwork and design throughout. A-plus there. The theaters: the seating is super comfy- it's the most comfortable seating of any theater in the metro. The seats are pods that are plush, and they almost fully recline. The service and food- the service was friendly, attentive, and very prompt. Our food came out very quickly and was really good. We had the loaded tots and popcorn. I usually don't expect much from the food at dining theaters, because it's usually pretty terrible. Cinebistro...Studio Movie Grill...the food usually tastes like straight from the microwave frozen fare. And Studio Movie Grill's popcorn also usually disappoints. But, the food at IPIC is pretty good. I'd say more on the level of a Hudson Grill than a Chili's. The popcorn was also really good. Just what'd you expect at a movie theater- crisp and buttery. We also had some cocktails, and they were pretty good. I had the rum punch which was subtly strong and wasn't too sweet, which I liked. Cleanliness- cleanliness is where IPIC totally dropped the ball. I don't like public restrooms, and if you look at my reviews I don't hardly ever comment on them. Because I know to expect most of them to be bad. However, in this case, they were really bad. Two of the lavatories were out of service. And while I was waiting for a stall to open, women started coming out of the occupied stalls saying there wasn't any toilet tissue in their stalls. I finally found an open stall, and there was a half used roll of toilet tissue (not on the holder but instead sitting on the grab bar). This roll was then passed around the facilities... And the bathrooms were just overall gross- sticky floors, tissue on the floor. Then when I went to leave, there weren't any paper towels. The ticket prices, and food/drink at this theater are a bit elevated- I expect a clean restroom. It's the least the company can make sure they provide, especially in the times of Covid. I let a manager (a blonde lady with a short, pixie cut) know that the bathrooms are gross. She told me thank you for the feedback. I hope she then went and managed the situation by putting toilet paper in the restrooms. Other than the restroom facilities, I'd say that IPIC is a great place to visit when going to the movies. I really enjoyed going to IPIC to see Barbie yesterday. My fiancé and I decided to order drinks and dinner in the theater, partially due to our busy schedule and not having time before the movie. Loved the cozy pods and ordering experience. While I was bummed my water came in a single-use plastic cup, everything else was like a restaurant. I got the Norma Jeane cocktail (pink for Barbie) and the tandoori chicken skewers. Mind you, this was one of the tastiest drinks and yummiest chicken I have ever had!! The grilled veggies were also good. I'm docking this one star because the prices were a little steep, but it makes sense given it's midtown. I recently went here for a solo night, as going to the movies is one of my favorite pastimes both pre/pro-pandemic. As I prefer the dine-in movie experience for its catering ambiance, I have been to a few that were slightly less than the "upscale" vibe they promoted to be expected. I've been wanting to try iPic for a while, and my experience was positive despite a few hiccups. One- their online ticket purchasing system is not always up to date, and you may run into errors. I had to show up in person to purchase my ticket due to the site glitching on check-out, which could have been disastrous if they had sold out prior to my arrival. Two- Despite it being a less than busy monday, my wait time for a server was a little bit slower than what I had anticipated. I was in no rush, but around 20/30 minutes for an order to be placed is the reason a star has been removed. Overall, it was a comfortable and satisfying experience. The nachos I ordered were pretty good, the fries were crispy, and the small popcorn was a good amount for the price. I will be back! read more

iPic and a similar movie theater chain are the only two that consistently provide a reliable cinematic experience for me. All the others are always very "meh" to me. Before today, I had never visited the Atlanta location, so I was eager to explore it when I received an invitation for a screening. I wanted to compare this branch with the one in Houston. I particularly enjoyed the Atlanta location's setting. If you wish to grab a meal or have some pre-event or post-event relaxation elsewhere, there are numerous dining options in Colony Square and the surrounding area. When I stepped inside, I was promptly welcomed, a detail I greatly appreciated. Nowadays, many places offer subpar customer service, but not here. I was impressed by the lobby's aesthetics, especially the attractive accent walls that left a strong visual impression. There seemed to be an issue with the escalators, as only one side was operational, and the yellow barricade was an eyesore, but this didn't bother me that much. What I adore about iPic is that it always gives off a vibe of having the entire place to yourself. I noticed that there were more staff members than actual guests, which is a significant positive aspect for me. As soon as I signaled for assistance by pressing the service button in the theater, the server arrived promptly, and all the items I requested met my expectations. My order included popcorn, a box of M&Ms, strawberry lemonade, and a shrimp tempura salad. The order was accurate, delivered on time, and the shrimp tempura in the salad was appropriately warm, just as it should be. Let's get into it ! Location- I was taken here as a date and this place is tucked into atl. I would have never found this place on my own. (Near 5 church ) Parking - they don't have there own but a garage you can park in is across and you have to take an elevator to get to the level of the theater / court. Parking is not free nor validated. Food- I didn't want to eat so much this time due to my food excursions next door at the foodie court. But I wanted the mozzarella sticks but they were out also we're out of nachos I believe. So we ordered the warm pretzels. OMG they were served warm and super soft ! Came with a mustard and a beer cheese. Both bomb and bomb I could eat it all day. Drink - I had the spice and ice ! It was a very good blend and strong. I had two (really one and a half) sheesh. I don't recommend two if driving haha but it was good especially with the spiced rim! Seating - I loved the seating. It was recliner chairs but in pods. Some relax theaters like movie tavern and stuff you can still see the other people but this was real personal and private which I liked since Covid I like my space. If cold they offer heated blankets haha fancy! It has a pull out cup holder in the pod wall and a small cubby for a purse (that's what I used it for though ). Also the table is rotatable and the staff comes at the push of a button. Decor- cute vibes ! A lot of art or abstract art around the building even the bathrooms are cute. The theatre is located within colony square. The parking is underground and can be confusing. There are two ways to enter, via the reception that is near the entrance of the theatre or through the building which is closed after 7 pm. The entrance to the plaza area is painted in red in the parking. The parking costs $20 regardless of hrs parked. There is valet too which costs $25. The theatre is well kept, appearance is great, and the bar is fully stocked. The service is good, you might have to remind them to bring your order at times which can get annoying when you're trying to enjoy the movie. You can be 10 minutes early and avoid that from happening. The seats are great you might not want to be here by yourself or might want to book the seat next you you to have extra comfort. If you're looking for an intimate theater that's great for date night... this might be what you're looking for. I hesitate cause it's easy to spend money by the time you get tickets, food, drinks... and the automatic gratuity... Yep! The seats are comfortable and lend an element of privacy. The theaters are not large. It tends to have a great selections of movies. Parking for the garage is validated. Initially I liked the food probably because of the newness. After several visits, it's okay but that doesn't stop me from ordering something each time. It's distracting that people can order food at their seat during the movie so you may see servers coming through in the midst of the film. Still, it's one of my favorite theaters. read more

Friendly service right from the door, parking (albeit a bit confusing at first), clean establishment, great drinks, good food, overall a great date night in Midtown! Going to the movies is one of our favorite pastimes although we haven't been able to enjoy it as much this year due to obvious reasons. We came on a Monday so the ticket prices were a bit lower than normal at $16.50 ea. I believe the weekend rate is approx. $25 per adult ticket . Parking was comped I believe it said up to 4.5 if you were visiting the theater. I would say this theater is comparable to the Cinesbistro in price, menu, comfort, and all around enjoyability of a theater plus its much closer to us. The Cinebistro has in my opinion a more expansive menu but I'd rank IPIC higher in seating comfort. IPIC was not short on food offerings though, and I also found it super impressive they had plenty of offerings (drinks included) that were Keto friendly. My bf had the Keto buffalo wings with Fries and I opted for the buffalo spring rolls. If you're craving for regular buffalo wings these are not those, they were tasty but not what you'd be looking for lol. I fully enjoyed the spring rolls and it was a nice filling portion at 6 halves although I'd pair it with some sweet potato fries next time. The drinks were also good and note that it is a full bar in addition to the options listed on the menu. The big draw for me was the pod seating it is perfect for a date night. It feels very private like its just you two privately watching a movie eating dinner and pleasantly this theater still applies the covid seating measures where the seats next to you are blocked off ... huge plus for me! Speaking of Covid measures they do take your temperature at the door and all the staff is wearing masks and require you to do so as well unless you are eating. Overall Id def recommend checking out a movie here! I can't wait until the weather gets a little warmer because the outside courtyard in the front looks like it will make Colony square a great hangout space! read more

This is my favorite diner theater. Parking is kind of confusing because, (as a 1st time visitor) to the Colony Square...I wasn't aware what level to park on and where it was exactly located to have easy act directly to the movie theater. There should be signage directing customers where to park however, there is STILL noticeable construction being done in parking structure. The staff at IPIC were extremely professional & attentive. Tickets were way worth the $20 entry fee for a movie ticket. Being 1 out of 3 people in the theater to see the movie FATALE...servers & food/drinks came out extremely fast! Which gave me time to get my grub on way before the movie came on so, I could enjoy the movie without hearing myself chew! The seating & floor plan was so different and comfortable I was so excited and pleased o be a customer at IPIC Midtown. Felt so good to be able to, get out finally in the middle of an Covid to enjoy a movie again! Geshhhj...! The staff here are ALL masked-up & are social distancing for patrons so, this made me feel my space was respected and I felt very comfortable here because, I went the 2nd day of IPIC opening. I commend IPIC and am looking forward going back to enjoy some outside s'mores at the Colony Square outside to enjoy the environment more with friends next time instead of a solo impromptu evening alone. So, I've been to this theater a few times and the seating is amazing and the food is amazing. I love the steak fries and Brussel sprout. Don't care for the red velvet chicken and waffles. I think they have taken it off the menus, so they got the hints. My most recent experience left a bad taste in my mouth. I came to the theater and was told someone has been attempting to contacting me. Which I know was a lie because I had no miss calls and didn't received email stating any issues. At 9am I got one email confirming my movie and arrival time. The AC went out in theater 4 and it was 90 degrees outside. They offered a refund or a rebooking. There was no service in that process it was like it is what it is just decided. No accommodations for the inconvenience. Not even an apology. Just you have two options refund or reschedule. Didn't even offer for me to stay and watch the movie. I stayed and the server was ok but completely ignored my guest until I pointed it out. It really made me second guest coming back. The service has always been shaky but the vibe and food kinda made up but after that experience it change my perspective. Great service makes the experience, and it seemed like the staff as a whole didn't understand that concept. When I was leaving, I saw a male that I assume was the manager having a conversation with the staff and I heard things a guest should never hear. If you all are having issues (which was very clear from the start of my experience) try not to speak about it in the middle of the lobby so everyone could hear. I ended this experience shocked with the check in guy not actually validating my parking, so I went to the car garage and still had to pay but was just over it and didn't want something so simple to mess up my day even more cause the movie was great. Oh, and the drinks suck. I've been a few times and my drinks were always bad. Your staff could benefit from some type of formal training in service. Set a standard with management as well because if you knew there are guest in a room with no AC a check in should be mandatory. I really do love the steak fries. read more

This place is a vibe for sure! Definitely go to experience IPIC. But the service cannot be trusted at all. I probably won't be going back but like I said go for the experience. The first time I realized the staff was off. You are supposed to give them a card to start a tab and it puts a $75 hold on your card. You can opt out of getting food or drinks. So this if you decide to order. After the movie if you ordered less then the $75 then they will refund the hold and only charge you what you spent. So this day I gave my card to the guy to make a tab. My check came up to $36. By the end of the movie he comes back like I can't find your tab I will need your card to cash you out. I'm like ok that's weird but whatever. Why isn't it linked to the seat I'm sitting in. Cool! Gave him the card he walks off. I check my bank account I see the $75 hold. So he come back after charging me and show him. He's like of my bad. Just call back in the morning and the manager will refund it for you. I'm like ok whatever. Called back and it was so hard to get in contact with a manager. I spoke to one woman and she was like C wait 3 days and the $75 will drop off. Cool no problem. A week passed and my money was not returned. I c ended up disputing it with my bank. Fast forward to last night... I go in and my sister starts the tab. I asked for the IPIC margarita ($13). The dude asked what liquor would I like and started naming options. I went with Casa Migos. Since I have bartended before I asked what is the up charge for it? He said $3. I'm like cool. Let's go for it. Get to the middle of the movie and we look at the check and they charged me $15 per drink for the casa migos. I got 2. I'm like hold up... something is wrong. We called the server over and mind you the one that came back was the one that helped the guy take our order in the first place. I break down the issue thinking it would be corrected he said no drinks are final sale. The $3 was for the flavor I added. I said I asked this question in the beginning so that this would not happen. That's isn't fair. I didn't even know I was getting charged for the flavor. He just asked it like it's free. And maybe this is their first serving job or maybe they just like to finesse but when you're up charging like that you should let people know. He then says well I can get you a free dessert. I'm like oh ok a free dessert $11 dessert after y'all got me for damn near $26 extra dollars. We paid it and was about to be on our way. He came back like oh you guys paid for it through the app... well the only thing left is the service charge of $29. My sister didn't catch it at first until I brought it up. There was already a $14 service charge on our check when she paid through the app. So where is this extra $29 coming from. He said it like we only paid half the check. My sister confronted him and he was like you should be good now. Like what. We was already good until you tried to play us. So I'm done with the service in there. If I want a drink I will go to the bar myself and I will go back to smuggling snacks into the theaters. DO NOT GIVE THE SERVERS YOUR CARD TO CREATE A TAB. They will over charge you!!!!!!! The $75 hold is not the issue. I've been to IPIC several times. I understand the process. Spend less, you guys charge the lower balance. Spend more then $75 then you will be charged the higher amount. The gratuity is an issue because if your being overcharged for things and not being told about up charges makes you not want to tip at all . But even with that information the gratuity was not the issue. It's the service! The fact that it took over a week to get my money back for the first incident. Which that has never happened to me in other visits to IPIC. So that 4-5 year fraud thing... doesn't matter. My concern is the people that work for this IPIC location that are not being honest with the charges and not informing the people that are coming in spending their money. So, like I said please go check out IPIC it is a vibe for sure. But..... DO NOT MAKE A TAB IN THERE. They will over charge you and not tell you that there is an up charge. If you choose to start a tab ask them every detail. You need to know the total before you take a sip or a bite of food. Especially verify the drink pricing because they are final sale. To prevent an up charge don't do any flavor adds and don't switch the liquor. Even though they will ask you like it's a make it your own drink. Take the drink just as it comes. read more

This movie theater is perfect for a date night. When you enter the doors of the theater, you'll provide your ticket details and be given paper tickets to proceed. There is an escalator and elevator to reach the theaters. There is a bar to order drinks of all kinds before the movies and then a QR code to order food and drinks. Each section in the theater has a pod that fits two people with a table and cup holder and a button to order more items. The hall way has beautiful artwork displayed and the bathrooms were very clean. The menu items were reasonable and met the needs of plant and meat lovers. This is one of our favorite dine-in movie theaters in the area. The location at colony square is perfect for date night. You can grab drinks at Politician Rowe before your showtime or just enjoy cocktails and dinner during your movie. Of course, the seats recline and you have in-seat service. The staff are called "ninjas" and they do a great job of quickly and courteously getting you your order without any interruption to the movie. Full transparency: The menu is a bit small and food is ok, not great. The theaters are small which we loved. It felt more like an intimate private viewing! We also love that the seats are generally in little cocooned pairs with little partitions to add to the privacy. The theatre is always immaculately clean and the staff are very friendly. read more

Very impressed by the cinema! You're first dazzled by the beautiful artwork! Amazing! It was a bit confusing because on the left when you enter it just appeared to be a self serve kiosk which is common in most cinemas. Apparently, that was where I checked in. Would be nice if there was someone to direct you there or someone at the front greeting you which is common in a lot of cinemas, so I had to go back downstairs and check in. The bar is nice. The second level is where the theatres are as well as restrooms and the bar. Wow! I was so dazzled! The most Hollywood-esque, Mid-century modern, Bali-resortish, vibey, classy cinema I've ever been to. For some reason the bar doesn't have seating and the bartender pushed me more to get my food at my seat instead of ordering at the bar. Also, there was no bar seating which was very strange. I've never had that experience at any luxury cinema. She was very nice and let me know I could order in the cinema which is convenient. I ordered my food at my seat and had a short wait. Someone let me know that my server would be right with me and turned off my service button. They are on top of things here which is nice and the staff is friendly. I was annoyed that that lady called me "sir". Really?! I'm a woman. Just because I have short hair doesn't mean I'm a man. Very disrespectful. Unfortunately, I've noticed white people make ignorant statements like that. Very annoyed by that. They were very thorough in my order and for some reason took my card. Why?! I'd rather just download the app and have it on file that way or have them swipe it and be able to close out. Very strange. I didn't like that AT ALL!! That's very risky! There were a few interruptions with the food in which I had to wait over 30 minutes for my fries and a cocktail. I don't really like the dine in service because it's a bit disruptive while I'm watching the movie. I would love to give this place 5 stars but it needs some improvements first. Lastly, once the film (a Marvel film which has post-credit scenes) was in credits, the lights were turned on which is what they're not supposed to do. Very intrusive and super bright. Mozzarella sticks are great. Service started great until the first drink came out wrong. Ordered a glass and a half of wine. A half glass came and the staff said they were unsure if it was a glass and a half. Ordered mid movie and it took 40 minutes to receive. Y'all, I had to review this place! When I say this was an experience?! We've all went to a dine and watch place before, but this is different, and it's something you want to experience. You sit in these booth like seats, with a table in between, and there is a button you press for service. There is a blanket that comes in the booth, which was convenient. You must be ON TIME because they only give a 20 minute grace period, and you cannot get in after that. The food was decent, and the drinks were good. I love that it's a relaxing and cozy atmosphere, and you could almost go to sleep. As everything else downtown, you park in the parking garage. The only down side is they are a cashless business. The seating is phenomenal, and I was blown away by how the movies sound. Food and drinks are really good, on par with other dine in theaters if not slightly better. If I had one critique it is with the staff. I saw many, but as a first time, no one engaged me to help me understand where to go or how to order. The new servers they have are terrible. The manager Ken is cool but gives the servers too many passes. Corey was our server lastnight. He charged my bf card for something that was not suppose to be charged. When I asked for Ken, the manager, Corey never came back and Ken was gone for the day. Mind you, we spoke with Ken prior to him "leaving" and he told us we were good. This was my 2nd visit in 2 months and both times there was an issue with the servers. Hence why our apps were "supposed" to be comped. Corey was aware we spoke with Ken and what Was being comped as they were standing right next to each other. So, we ordered a drinks. Corey manipulated us and came and asked us for our card, no bill. Us assuming it would just be the drinks as he was aware of the apps being comped, we didn't request the bill. When we got the bill, I stated "one of the apps is still here" his reply "Oh I asked Ken he said one" unbeknownst to us AT ALL, because we spoke with the manager twice prior to this. I asked Corey to send the manager Ken back over, he never showed. When I left, the server said he was gone. Corey knew what he was doing. All for an extra tip! I'm disappointed and disgusted.
